2023.06.05 00:39 JimmyTheBuilder Sync not working?

Hi all,
I recently purchased a used 2016 f250 xlt, and I can't get the sync / bluetooth to work. When I click the voice or phone buttons, nothing happens. The radio works fine though. Has anyone experienced this?
It randomly worked 1 time, so I know it can work.
Edit: its not a touch screen l

2023.06.03 23:47 GrandPawWood Tank selector valve feedback

Tank selector valve feedback
New Tank selector valve. This is on a 1975 F250 360FE Automatic 2wd with the dual tanks. Previous owner had bypassed the electric selector valve and put in a manual one. The manual valve was leaking so I removed it and went straight to the main tank. Everything was fine running one gas tank since most trips are less than 100 miles. However, I'd like to take it on a road trip so I'd like to use the auxiliary gas tank. I installed a new tank selector valve from LMC Truck, so far so good.
Now the problem I'm having is that the auxiliary tank is empty but when I start the truck and then switch to the auxiliary tank, I see gas in the filter I put in and the truck runs for a couple of minutes before it dies. I was expecting it to die a few seconds after switching to the auxiliary tank but it keeps running for a couple of minutes. I also didn't expect to see fuel in the filter coming from the empty auxiliary gas tank (I actually think its gas from the main tank or the line that runs to the fuel pump somehow getting past the valve).
Other than that, it appears to be working. Is this normal or am i missing something?

2023.06.02 19:49 smallblockmotor_9274 Are these two trucks worth buying for $1,800? '69 F100 and '76 F250? Are they actually worth $1,800 for the two together?

Are these two trucks worth buying for $1,800? '69 F100 and '76 F250? Are they actually worth $1,800 for the two together?
I have seen these trucks in person but did not take more photos. Green 76' F250 is 2WD has a good 360 in the bed and a C6 in the truck, and has perfect straight body panels and the interior is alright. Parts are good but floors are rotten and bench is not to bad. Maroon 1969 F100 in 2nd photo has a rebuilt 390 on a stand, and an automatic transmission in the truck. The interior parts are good but floors are completely toast because of the carpet floor and the bench seat is in the bed under a tarp, just needs some foam it's not to ruined surprisingly. There is some cab corner rot but NO rot above door rails! There is also rot above the trim along the bed. I do have a perfect 67-72 cab with good floors I could use for that. He came down from $2,000 to $1,800. He says he paid $1,200 for the 76' and has over $2k in the 69' but I've asked but he spent that 2k on and he didn't say. I've seen these in person, that 69' has no new parts so that money would have to be in the rebuilt 390. Are these worth the buy for $1,800? I'm not asking should I buy them, I'm asking if they are worth buying for $1,800. I feel like I'm being robbed here $1,800 for a bunch of old junk but I do want them.

Does a F250 use less fuel while towing a trailer and mini excavator than an F150?
It may seem like a stupid question but I’m genuinely curious, I have put many factors into consideration but I’m still stuck on the question. Thank you for your replies!
Edit: I forgot to mention, the trucks will be used, not new. F150, 2010-2014 models. F250, 2010-2013 models.
Thank you!

2023.05.31 21:10 Mwebe96 Amp recommendations?

Looking for some help on figuring out what power amps to use?
Putting a set up in my 08 F250 with JBL862CF speakers in the front, JBL 8621F speakers in the rear, and JL10TW3-D4 subs. I know I probably need to two amps, one for the sub and another for the component speakers. What power amps should I use for those, what number of channels for the component speakers, and any brand recommendations?

2023.05.30 00:40 gravelGoddess Mobile mechanic for Ford F250 diesel truck

Problem:
2008 Ford F250 diesel.
Truck will start then stops without turning off ignition. Sometimes, it will start again and other times it won’t. New battery on driver‘s side which is what is needed to start truck. Other battery is older but still keeps charge. Check engine light is staying on but disappears when it is running.
Husband uses NOCO Boost X GBX75 to jump start. It has to be fully charged for truck to start.
Can someone recommend a mobile mechanic for us?

2023.05.29 20:38 letr1 What would you recommend for a truck that can be used in a year for 5th wheel

Hello,
we are looking for a truck under 8 000 Canadian Dollars, it has to be capable of towing 24ft 5th wheel that we will buy next year. This year we just want to use the truck as our camper :)
Iv been looking at 2001 silverados, 2006 ram 2500, and some f250 but all of them are known for transmission issues when they have around 200 000km on it. And all of these trucks are 200k-280k km
We are also looking for gas as diesel is just too expensive to maintain. We will be on the road till the end of the season and then work through winter to get the 5th wheel.
What should i look out for?
Thank you

2023.05.29 16:33 C0tt0nm0uffxx Another 4X4 Question

I was reading the other thread about driving 4X4 on dry pavement and It sounded a lot like something I have going on with my 2001 F250 Super Duty 4X4. It’s the 5.4 SOHC gasser if that makes any difference. It’s part time 4X4 with locking front hubs.
I drove it off-road this past deer season and it did fine but I noticed it just kind of felt like it was binding when I made turns. It didn’t make sounds or anything but it just felt stiff. I just chalked it up to it being normal as I have driven several other 4X4’s that had that same stiff feeling to them. Especially the older models.
Then we had a large snow storm and I used 4X4 to get to the store which is about 7 miles away. I had to take the highway as I live in a rural area and secondary roads do not get plowed. I kept it under 50 MPH.
I made two trips to the store that week and the second time I forgot to take it out of 4 hi before I got out on the highway (pavement was dry). I also forgot to keep it under 50 and probably got it up to 70 MPH for maybe 4-5 miles.
When I got in the parking lot of the store it started binding up when I turned, especially while making tight left hand turns in the parking lot. I then remembered that I had forgotten to take it out of 4 hi. I immediately unlocked the hubs and took it out of 4 hi and the noise went away.
I am going to have to have this fixed before next hunting season and was just wondering how screwed I am? As far as I can tell the noise seems to be coming from the left front wheel or so it seems and it hasn’t made any noise since I took it out of 4X4. What kind of damages could I be looking at and is it something I could possibly fix myself? I have been working on cars and trucks since I was a kid. I can do simple things, change coil pack, starter, water pump, things of that nature. I only have a basic mechanics set of sockets and basic hand tools, floor jack. Where should I begin to diagnose a problem? I do have a diagnostic scanner (Blue-driver) and I have 0 pending or confirmed system codes.

2023.05.28 18:38 SpotAnnual5978 how to detail my husband's truck

hello all, my husband and I recently got an '86 Ford F250 XL
He is wanting to get it ready for a car show later in the year, and I'd like to start the detailing to figure out the best way to keep his truck looking great. We bought it from a guy who barely used it, but it is in great condition.
I was hoping to get advice on the best exterior washes and waxes, as I feel I have the interior cleaned up well. Any advice is appreciated! I want to encourage his hobby and do something with him that he loves.

2023.05.28 05:59 rsmcarthur F250 Lariat 6.2L?

Hey guys, new here. Have the opportunity to purchase a 2019 F250 Lariat 6.2L gas job with 160.0 wb, dark grey - 72000km, single owner, miner most likely - they’re asking $70,000 - CARFAX checks out - everything on the exterior is good to go, very good condition. Bedlined. - interior is scuffed to hell on both front door arm rests, tear in side drivers seat, pretty heavy wear and tear, rear of console scratched heavily, most likely duffel bags thrown in and out. - Ford dealer selling as used. - New to Ford - This a good deal? Should I ask for replacement interior panels? - Possibly trade tor 2022 Explorer ST dark grey with 13,500km
Thanks in advance.

1997 Ford F250 5.8L Sputters
I have a 1997 Ford F250 5.8L with dual tanks. The rear tank works just fine. However, when I switch it to the front tank, it begins to kind of sputter and lose power the harder I press on the gas.
I assume since the rear tank works, it’s not a filter or injector problem. Is this typically a fuel pump or possible bad fuel problem?
(Just bought the truck, was used as an old farm truck)

2023.05.28 00:10 iammufusasboy I just bought my first truck and my anxiety is getting the best of me, maybe…

Hey everyone, kinda new to this sub and new to owning a truck period. Just bought a single cab ‘16 F250 4X4 with about 110k on it. It’s purpose is to pull my camper and that’s basically it. Might see 3,000 miles a year, if that. I got it for a great price and that’s what has me worried. I think I did everything right, checked oil and tranny fluid for any grittiness. Started it cold and let run for a few minutes. Test drove in 2WD and 4WD(which I’ll probably never use). Inspected underneath for rust, frame damage, suspension and rear axle. Carfax report showed an oil change every 5k give or take and no issues expect a open recall for the clock spring. Dealership had 4.6, 4.7, and 4.8 out of 5 star ratings from 3 sites totaling 1500 reviews. All negative reviews seems to be personalities on both sides or people not understanding how much trucks cost.
So much for me to unpack here, but I’m scared and excited at the same time. I’ve towed before but now it’s MY truck. Towing a standard tow behind but might upgrade to a 5th wheel now that I’ve got a truck.
Since it may sit 80% of the time what should I watch out for? Tire dry rot I’m aware of, oil change due to mileage of course at 5k, but what about timeframe for these specially. I have some automotive background, so I can work on it myself with the help of YouTube, but believe me I know my limits(I like to think I’m not an idiot). Anything else I need to be concerned with?
Looking at other posts from this sub I’ve got the truck for me and my budget, but damn my nerves are at a 10 and it’s been 4 days since I bought it.
