Does anyone know how big magic tomes would be IRL? At first I imagined them being the size of (smaller) college textbooks, but then realized that most mages can hold them open with one hand. This led me to believe they are relatively small until I remembered that many mages can get weighed down by them. However, I find it unlikely that most people would be weighed down by a book unless it's the huge dictionary from your local public library, and you'd think whoever makes the tomes would make them a somewhat practical size.
Any thoughts?

I was stuck between the I3 processor and the Intel Pentium Gold G7400, but ultimately chose the i3 just in case I ever want to repurpose this computer for anything else. When I picked the motherboard I basically chose the cheapest motherboard I could find with lots of SATA connections. I picked a lot of memory because TrueNAS can use a lot of memory for caching. Finally, the power supply is not necessarily going to be used because I have an old power supply I'm gonna try to use instead, but this is what I would get if I was buying new.
Let me know how I did! I'm curious to hear what you think.

We have two very polar political parties. Most people are somewhere in the middle or they waffle between what party they vote for based on various reasons. On the extremes we have woke liberals and hyper conservatives. Both are toxic in their own ways. I read the news or Reddit and it seems like these populations are huge, but when I go out and about my day, I never really see any of it. Most people know that transgender children are mentally ill and would NOT play along if their kids decided to be trans (they would get them psychiatric help). Most people who are conservative are pro choice (to an extent). Most liberals don’t actually think only white people can be racist. Most people know deep down that BLM movement pretty much a scam and joke. Most people have zero problems with guns.
That being said, when you open Reddit and read the comments in political posts, it’s seems like the world is burning. Or Fox News comments are full of people thinking the left is out to get their kids. I get it, there are areas where I would never raise my children. For example I would never raise my children in Portland because of the crazy gender curriculum but I also would never send my children to a bible school.
But the vast majority of America is NORMAL. I work at a FAANG company in Austin and while the news makes it seem like we are woke and full on DEI - it’s a complete lie. Even during 2020 there was hardly a peep about anything political at work. Sure, we hired some diversity HR drones but they all actually just got laid off. The entire diversity team is gone. No one in the company cared, we never got emails about DEI. It’s like the company went along for the ride in the media but behind closed doors we just engineered and made money.
I’m also pregnant and in my October birth subreddit, there was a post about gender and how they didn’t want to assume it was a boy or girl. This poster would correct people if they said the word gender instead of sex. Anyway, this particular post had about 50% downvotes but no comments disagreeing with her but quite a few in agreement. This shows me that people on Reddit don’t really want to engage in an argument that goes against a woke belief. They just downvote and move on. It reminds me that the majority of Americans are not drinking the KoolAid from either extreme and just want to live their life with minimal disruption. Sometimes I wonder wtf is going on and I’m scared for my kids’ future - but in reality, I’m very lucky to live here. I feel safe even if the news is telling me I’m going to get shot tomorrow. I feel like my kids will get a quality public education because most schools honestly just teach the core curriculum. I feel like I can trust our police and legal system. Anyway, these are just my ramblings and maybe someone here disagrees with me. I’d like to hear all opinions.

My husband and I met 15 years ago and there is a 25 year age difference between us. His youngest daughter at the time just started living with him for the first time in her 12 years alive, a month before I moved in. Ever since then she has never taken a liken to me or ever tried to get along. I never held it against her bc I seen her side of things. At 15 she had her one and only son, my husbands first grandchild. We did have a lot fights before she eventually moved out. She never let me hold her child or watch her child bc i was SA as a child and she said i would do that to her child. At 17 she moved back with her mom and she has been in and out of our life since. She dropped out of high school right after she had her baby bc we refused to let the BD stay in our house. She only comes around her father when she wants something and like a fool he always gives in to her. Ever since her son was a baby she would abandon him at daycares or some other person. My husband would offer to keep him as long as she needs and give him a home if he needed but out of spite. She has never had any respect for my husband bc she blames him for not staying with her mother who was always in and out of jail after they split, the only reason she was made to come with him bc she was in jail. Fast-forward 11 years and she has drug that baby through hell and back. She is an addict and is always self medicating herself with whatever she can. Her friends call her smoked out Stacy and AA-Stacy. We now have a surprise 7 year old son that has had our grandson in and out of his life since he was born and loves him as he own brother. So for 7 years our GS has been allowed in his life as his BF then ripped away. So this weekend was my husband's birthday and our granddaughters birthday and had back to back parties planned. Stacy started tripping again over nothing, maybe her fragile ego was being threatened again by our parenting, who knows. She was only going to allow him to come to only 1 of the BD parties. My husband is end stage renal failure with no hopes of donor and heart disease that could take him any day. We have been open with the whole family about this and most everyone has put aside differences to be cordial during this time, except Stacy. She will let our grandson go on extravagant vaca's with us then keep him from seeing us for months or years. He recently told us he wanted to live with us but if he told his mom he would never be allowed back. With my husband illness he has been trying to spend as much time with his grandson as he can but Stacy has made it very difficulty and started involving her son in our disagreements, putting him in the middle. Well after she first told him he could come to one party this weekend, she got mad and kept him from coming at all, which upset our GS bc he couldnt understand why. There is no reason why, never is, she controls him and our relationship with him bc she has no control over her own life. So yesterday after high emotions of her crap again over the weekend we get an email from the school that let us know our GS who is self home schooled googled "how to self unalive bc there is no point in living". My husband who is now fed up at this point with her inability to grow up and like an adult, text her "she has 2 days to address this and get him therapy". She text him back the next day accusing him of trying to rip her son away out of spite and threatening he has lost his GS entirely. Her last text was "die quicker please why tf is it taking so long". I then told her I know she has an unregistered weapon in the home, illegal substances, and is probably drunk at the moment and I am calling CPS on her. Our GS called us right after she told him I text her this and ask my husband was it true, he told him if she doesn't step up and be better parent and start caring about him, he will. Now he is worried she going to take it out on him. She has involved him into our adult quarrel but AITA for threatening to call CPS on her?

Hi, I would like to share my portfolio. Feel free to provide feedback or open for discussion.
50% treasury notes/bills 25% cash (i do not think there is a good etf which I can buy based on current tightening and earnings revisions) 25% in stocks including hedges Stocks: VNO (i am not sure how this will go for bankruptcy. Currently at 10% cap rate with 11% yield owning prime real estate in NYC looks good to me)
AMR (coal company;HCC is also good) BTU (coal company) USO (i feel current oil prices cannot be sustained for long period of time. China reopening and recession usage barely decreases for oil) EPD (dividend yielding in oil pipeline etc) BTI (dividend yielding in tobacco)
Banks (yeah, we had banking crisis but big banks with good management such as MTB will survive. Around covid lows!)
TLT (i dont think the long term rates can go above 5%. With recession fears, treasury should do well with cuts in rates)
Near term: SPXS ( for hedging the long portfolio, and i think there won’t be any cuts in 2023)

I tend to fidget with random objects and like to have at least one thing to mess around with in my pocket (ex. a yoyo, some legos, a rubber band, my phone's popsocket). I also used to (until 6th or 7th grade I think?) keep a bag of random stuff I collected that I like. Stuff ranging from bunch of erasers (some in interesting shapes), a bookmark I drew on to look like a ninja, some origami ninja stars, coins. Some of these objects are several years old, but I kept carrying them around just because. I would also play with them as toys to fidget around with or create stories with.

There are some things I do or used to do that seem like they could be stims
Possible stims:
Making and popping a bubble using my saliva/mouth
Pushing saliva out of my mouth (did this as a kid)
Beatboxing, I do this like all the time for absolutely no reason
Hitting things to make a beat as if they were drums
Making pop sounds with my mouth, often melodic
Wiggling my toes (I do this a lot since it's easy to hide)
Whistling (maybe????)
I sometimes do these dances when I'm alone and often when I'm excited, and I've just now realized that that's 100% a stim
I stim pretty much all the time, now that I'm thinking about it. Sometimes to at once lmao. Way more than a lot of other people in school.

Or sometimes during a party, I'll hang out in a more quiet room or the bathroom for a bit to have a break.
I remember one time I was at my cousin's house and all the adults were arguing about politics (as they do), and I went off and sobbed in another room because I was probably overwhelmed. And this happened relatively recently, so it's not like I was a kid who didn't know what was happening and just cried because I was scared. This sounds kinda like a meltdown?

There's a few things I do that make no sense at my age.
I always want a parent to come up to my room and "tuck me in" at night. I can go without it but I do like it, even though it's very childish.
I put break oreo cookies apart and put them in a glass of milk, let them soak for a min, then fish them out and eat them with a spoon. Weird but it tastes great lol
As I (might) have mentioned already, I played with toys regularly up until some time last school year, which was 9th grade. I stopped playing with them around the same time I lost my interest in legos.
I still sit in the back seats of cars most of the time. I'm not sure why, but I just prefer them for some reason even though I should prefer the passenger seat. It's not even like a "I feel safer in the back seat" either, I just enjoy it for some reason. My mom often asks me why I still sit in back seats and I have no answer other than "I like it for some reason".
Similar to the car seat thing, I usually prefer to sit in one of two seats at the dinner table and feel kinda weird when I have to sit somewhere else

I understand it now, but it took a few years longer than my classmates. Same with other stuff like that, and I still can't say curse words. I get hyperfixations a LOT. Basically if I like something I might latch on to that something for a few weeks or months till I eventually am not interested. I also intensely hyperfixate when I do some activities. I'll be doing a hobby and either not realize or keep putting off that I need to do something, like pee or eat or drink.

Social problems
I have a few social problems and difficulties.
It's weird; I can hold a conversation with a friend, family member, or some teachers (but not lead it) pretty easily, but with tons of other people I get anxiety or selective mutism or both. Basically I'm better when it's someone I know
While I can converse with people I know better than those I don't, no matter what there's a bit of awkwardness and sometimes confusion, at least on my end. Like I said, I can't really lead a conversation and when the other person runs out of things to say I often don't have anything to say and we just sit in silence for a few seconds.
I can barely do small talk. Best I can to is a somewhat humorous "so the weather, huh" in most cases.
I have trouble understanding sarcasm sometimes and differentiating between sarcasm and serious stuff. Not all the time, but enough to be annoying. It's even more difficult on text.
I have a very odd sense of empathy. I often don't feel it that greatly or.sometimws not at all, like I have to consciously think about it, but sometimes something just gets me in the right way. A good example is the recent earthquake in Turkey(?), which made me really sad when I saw it.
I do something I heard that might be a sign of autism, called parallel play. It's basically when you and another person hang out together but do different things. I do this with cousins or friends sometimes and I enjoy it! Idk why, maybe the idea of being with someone even if we're doing different things is comforting.

I know that autistic people often have trouble making friends but I have plenty of friends rn. I met most of them through others however. Those original friends, I don't really remember how I got them. And in terms of childhood friends, like elementary school, I did have them but I don't remember how we met and I can't ask them because either they've moved away or I've drifted away from them.

So, if I am on the spectrum, I must either be pretty low needs or I'm really good at masking my symptoms. I seem to be able to function pretty well with life, relative to others with autism. I just have some weird quirks about me. I do have a history of trying to find something wrong with me, I'll latch on to mental illnesses or disabilities sometimes and try to figure out if I have them. The only I've had a real possibility of having so far is some kind of anxiety disorder (but im not here to talk about that) and now autism or another neurodivergency.
Also worth noting, my parents, especially my dad, work with kids with learning disabilities and stuff like that daily (mom is a reading teacher, dad is a speech teacher and i think he used to work with kids with disabilities privately as a second job when my mom didnt work) so I feel they they'd know if I was on spectrum? Unless a) I'm low needs enough that they never realized or b) they're biased because I'm their child so they wouldn't think I'm on the spectrum at all, and would never test me or anything.
I'd mainly be getting this diagnosis for myself as I doubt I really need any help or something. I struggle with imposter syndrome and it's really drains me, so knowing a yes or know about something like this would make me feel a whole lot better (I hope). Maybe give me a bit more confidence. It would also help me understand myself a bit better because then I'd know that I'm not just a weirdo because I'm a weirdo, but that I'm a weirdo because of a disorder.

I get overwhelmed sometimes and need to take a break in a cool, quiet place (so if I'm feeling overwhelmed on the main floor of my house and the tv is on, I'll go up to my room or the basement where it's usually quieter and a colder temp. Or sometimes during a party, I'll hang out in a more quiet room or the bathroom for a bit to have a break.
I remember one time I was at my cousin's house and all the adults were arguing about politics (as they do), and I went off and sobbed in another room because I was probably overwhelmed. And this happened relatively recently, so it's not like I was a kid who didn't know what was happening and just cried because I was scared. This sounds kinda like a meltdown?

I have trouble determining intentions or obvious things and other stuff like that. Most easily seen when I watch movies. For example, I was watching a movie with my friends one time, and figured out something interesting. I pointed it out to my friends, but they said something like "well yeah obviously". Happens a lot, I don't realize something that, in hindsight, was obvious.

There's a few things I do that make no sense at my age.
I always want a parent to come up to my room and "tuck me in" at night. I can go without it but I do like it, even though it's very childish.
I put break oreo cookies apart and put them in a glass of milk, let them soak for a min, then fish them out and eat them with a spoon. Weird but it tastes great lol
As I (might) have mentioned already, I played with toys regularly up until some time last school year, which was 9th grade. I stopped playing with them around the same time I lost my interest in legos.
I still sit in the back seats of cars most of the time. I'm not sure why, but I just prefer them for some reason even though I should prefer the passenger seat. It's not even like a "I feel safer in the back seat" either, I just enjoy it for some reason. My mom often asks me why I still sit in back seats and I have no answer other than "I like it for some reason".
Similar to the car seat thing, I usually prefer to sit in one of two seats at the dinner table and feel kinda weird when I have to sit somewhere else

I've always been a late bloomer. Most recent example is that until relatively recently, i just did not understand romance or kissing. I understand it now, but it took a few years longer than my classmates. Same with other stuff like that, and I still can't say curse words. It's like my body will not let me utter a curse word, even though im a teen and its acceptable, and i want to. Idk why I can't. Really annoys me

I do this thing sometimes where I see a face or maybe a sound someone makes and I copy it for some reason. I really don't know why, I just do it. It happens sometimes when I read an expression a character makes in a book as well. I also steal most of my humor and jokes from others, which would be another form of this copying.

I think I have a usual constant emotion. Usually I feel like 📷 or just kinda content. I might be faking a smile a lot, but im not sure at the moment (Figuring it out rn). I can feel emotions though. Usually happiness/thinking something is funny, sometimes sadness but less so than the others, anxious a lot in a bunch of situations. I also have this one memory as a kid where I realized I was similar to a character from some show who almost always had the 📷 face. Take that with a grain of salt however, because I barely remember it so chances are i got something wrong

My og pair of drum sticks. Had them since 4th grade and I get super upset when I leave them somewhere, I worry a lot that they will get stolen or something. I care about a pair of drumsticks like that. It's not reasonable lol
My phone, but I might be attached to it just because I'm a teenager and it's a phone lol

I lay weirdly in bed sometimes, it's hard to describe. It's like I'm doing a plank, but putting a ton of pressure
I used to lay on my belly with my legs up when i was going to bed, sometimes swinging them around. I don't do this anymore.

I get hyperfixations a LOT. Basically if I like something I might latch on to that something for a few weeks or months till I eventually am not interested. I also intensely hyperfixate when I do some activities. I'll be doing a hobby and either not realize or keep putting off that I need to do something, like pee or eat or drink.

Social problems
I have a few social problems and difficulties.
It's weird; I can hold a conversation with a friend, family member, or some teachers (but not lead it) pretty easily, but with tons of other people I get anxiety or selective mutism or both. Basically I'm better when it's someone I know
While I can converse with people I know better than those I don't, no matter what there's a bit of awkwardness and sometimes confusion, at least on my end. Like I said, I can't really lead a conversation and when the other person runs out of things to say I often don't have anything to say and we just sit in silence for a few seconds.
I can barely do small talk. Best I can to is a somewhat humorous "so the weather, huh" in most cases.
I have trouble understanding sarcasm sometimes and differentiating between sarcasm and serious stuff. Not all the time, but enough to be annoying. It's even more difficult on text.
I have a very odd sense of empathy. I often don't feel it that greatly or.sometimws not at all, like I have to consciously think about it, but sometimes something just gets me in the right way. A good example is the recent earthquake in Turkey(?), which made me really sad when I saw it.
I do something I heard that might be a sign of autism, called parallel play. It's basically when you and another person hang out together but do different things. I do this with cousins or friends sometimes and I enjoy it! Idk why, maybe the idea of being with someone even if we're doing different things is comforting.

I know that autistic people often have trouble making friends but I have plenty of friends rn. I met most of them through others however. Those original friends, I don't really remember how I got them. And in terms of childhood friends, like elementary school, I did have them but I don't remember how we met and I can't ask them because either they've moved away or I've drifted away from them.

So, if I am on the spectrum, I must either be pretty low needs or I'm really good at masking my symptoms. I seem to be able to function pretty well with life, relative to others with autism. I just have some weird quirks about me. I do have a history of trying to find something wrong with me, I'll latch on to mental illnesses or disabilities sometimes and try to figure out if I have them. The only I've had a real possibility of having so far is some kind of anxiety disorder (but im not here to talk about that) and now autism or another neurodivergency.
Also worth noting, my parents, especially my dad, work with kids with learning disabilities and stuff like that daily (mom is a reading teacher, dad is a speech teacher and i think he used to work with kids with disabilities privately as a second job when my mom didnt work) so I feel they they'd know if I was on spectrum? Unless a) I'm low needs enough that they never realized or b) they're biased because I'm their child so they wouldn't think I'm on the spectrum at all, and would never test me or anything.
I'd mainly be getting this diagnosis for myself as I doubt I really need any help or something. I struggle with imposter syndrome and it's really drains me, so knowing a yes or know about something like this would make me feel a whole lot better (I hope). Maybe give me a bit more confidence. It would also help me understand myself a bit better because then I'd know that I'm not just a weirdo because I'm a weirdo, but that I'm a weirdo because of a disorder.

There are 6 colors of the Sepulcher sets which come from different sources
4 from the raid (LFR, Normal, Heroic, Mythic)
2 from PvP
For the PvP sets you can get the non-elite version (which is the bronze/blue color) for 12 marks of honor from the PvP vendor in Oribos. This is the easiest to get.
The Elite PvP set (black/white) is unavailable
For the other 4 colors you can run the raid on the specific difficulty for the color that you want and get it from bosses. The raid is not soloable but there should be groups in the Group Finder tool under legacy raid.
The other way to get these appearances is to convert gear from Shadowlands season 3 and season 4 in the catalyst converter located in Zereth Mortis. (You will need cosmic flux to do this which is a resource that is easy to get by killing rares and opening treasures in Zereth Mortis)
The color of the transmog that you get depends on the ilvl of the piece that you put in the converter.
For the LFR color (green) you can put gear from the Sepulcher raid on LFR difficulty in the converter or you can buy sandworn gear from this NPC in Zereth Mortis. For example: If you want the LFR version helmet from your class tier set you can buy a sandworn helmet token using sandworn relics (another currency found outdoor in ZM) and then take that helmet to the catalyst converter and convert it into the LFR version of your tier set
For the Normal color (pale gold) you can put gear from the Sepulcher raid on normal difficulty or gear from the world boss in Zereth Mortis (Antros) in the converter
For the Heroic color (black/red) you can put gear from the Sepulcher raid on heroic difficulty in the converter and I am not aware of other sources now that the season has ended
For the Mythic color (gold/red) you can put gear from the Sepulcher raid on mythic difficulty in the converter. However there is a lesser known way for this that was possible in Shadowlands season 4. I am not sure if they patched it or not. What you can do is run mythic 0 Shadowland dungeons. Then you take the gear that you get from these dungeons in the converter and the resulting item will be the mythic color. For example: you can do Mists of Tirna Scithe on mythic difficulty as a Paladin and if you get the plate helmet from the first boss, you take that helmet in the converter and the resulting item will be the mythic (red/gold) version of the Luminous Chevalier's Casque.
Keep in mind that for the catalyst converter you need to use the same armor type that your character equips (cloth, leather, mail or plate).

My (M31) wife (F29) accidentally spilled boiling water all over my neck, chest, and parts of my face a couple months ago. This left me with severe burns, permanent scarring, and a two week stay in the hospital. I don’t really resent her because I know it was an accident, but I’m still figuring out how to cope with life as a disfigured person now.
Yesterday, we went to this block party at my friend’s house and my wife and I were meeting some new people.
