2023.06.08 06:18 Posting____At_Night Zone 7 plants for under an overhang that receives no sun or water?

There is a raised bed in the front of my house (south facing) that sits at least a couple feet back under an overhang. Due to it being raised, it gets effectively zero water other than humidity in the air, and the overhang puts it in shade 100% of the time. I'm in zone 7, hot humid summers and wet winters with the occasional freeze.
What's the lowest maintenance thing I can plant there? I am terrible about keeping a watering schedule so something that can survive some neglect would be perfect.
I am in West TN. Native plants would be nice, but I don't know of anything native that could tolerate this.

I'm not talking about his strength/power (though that is pretty crazy too tbh), I'm talking about how he's something like 1,000 years old. Mukaku describes him as a some sort of ancient sage that has been around for generations and then one day came down from the mountains to wreck shit for reasons unknown.
Yes, I know the series introduced the "Huisheng" as a pseudo immortality, and it's also been confirmed that the Worm had been working on both mind transfer and cloning. But The Connector didn't come into contact with the Wu clan until after he took over the Worm (or so it seems right now) and the cloning stuff is relatively new. Based on what we know so far, and this is subject to possibly changing with more revelations, The Connector is apparently some sort of mythical being that is actually immortal; and if that is the case, I don't know, that feels like too fantasy like for the series.

2023.06.08 06:10 Trenavix Moved here in November and I already miss winter

As the title says, I miss the winter. The rain, the cold, the quiet. Just over sharing my thoughts of late..
I do wish snow happened more often, but the pro was that i could continue to motorcycle almost every day in winter with my warm gear.
Summer has so many people on the road, the heat is only going to get worse, and everyone is warning me that wildfire smoke gets bad here... I wish it rained more frequently in the summer. This is coming from a Californian who has lived in Sweden/Finland, the summer outlook here seems very dry compared to northern Europe.
And my Californian family always bags Seattle as such a rainy city. My running joke is I'm in the sunshine state right now because it's been so much sun while SoCal has been nonstop overcast.
I am thankful the days last longer though so I don't have to be back home by 4:30pm!

Thinking about going to a national park later this month for a few days but still not sure which one to choose. I've been to Zion and loved it but now im looking at either Glacier or Yosemite. Huge fan of mountains and some higher altitude hikes that have views similar to Angles Landing or Canyon Overlook in Zion. The narrows was cool but I prefer mountain views and higher elevation stuff, not really for the thrill of it I just find it more interesting. I'm leaning towards glacier but I am open to basically anything, please provide me with recommendations or specific hikes!

Shoutout to Greg for making such a good course at such an affordable price .
I already had a good aptitude for quant . I enrolled in gregmat plus in mid January 2023 , i choose the 2 month study plan , then i procastinated to finish even week 1 for the next two months , after April joined up forces with a friend and we half assed our way to week 3 . Then i stopped studying again , jump to 15 May 21 days before exam i knew it was now or never as i had already rescheduled once and i didn't want to do it again .
I started watching everything at 1.5 x or 2 x and completed the till week 4 . I was not practicing anything more then what was taught in class and for quant i did quant problem from the gregmat usually choose the hard and extreme filter . I skipped homework .
For verbal i had done vocab mountain till group 10 only , used tc and se season 4 videos and for awa i started practicing 5 days before exam and used chatgpt to rate my essays (read essays with 6,5,4 scores they helped a lot ) . I andhered to a strict structure for AWA as i didn't want to experiment during exam . For reading comprehension i completed Greg's videos and then i practiced through practice test itself .
I used prepswift in the last month to skim through concepts quickly and it's an excellent resource for vocabulary and quant concepts.
Most important thing practice tests : i gave around 5-6 full time practice tests Powerprep 1 and 2 , Manhattan , greprep , Princeton review , Kaplan whatever full time test i found i did that helped me increase my speed a lot , i gave a couple of gre mini exam on gregmat too . All my practice test i was scoring from 310-315 .
By no means this was the best strategy but it got me a decent score . The exam was fairly straightforward , there were as always a few traps in answers in quant and verbal . I found quant to be quite doable medium to easy questions and verbal was difficult for me but everything was from gregmat's course i was like if only had i completed the vocab mountain .

I’m somewhat capable in racing around classic circuits or mountain roads in other games like ACC or PC2 also learning how to drift and getting better in it and this meant I thought I know what I’m doing. Until I downloaded dirt rally 2. First championship with 115 hp fwd lancia was quite easy and got into it after few stages, not some great times but no crashing and so on. But then I started new championships with Ford Ecord MK2 and damn this is hard… I’m either going to fast and keep crashing or going too slow and ending up in lower side of the leaderboard. This is definitely not game to play after long day of work for me but still I enjoy the challenge of learning how to drive in this game

Hello everyone, I'm a CS undergrad, and 2023 Fall is going to be my last semester at Dal by the end of which I should fulfill all my degree requirements. So, by January 2024 I'll receive all my final grades and become eligible to graduate. However I have looked at convocation dates for 2024 and it seems that the earliest will be May 2024, which is after the Winter semester. Does this mean that I won't be able to receive my degree before May?
Do students who finish their program on a Fall semester actually have to 'chill' for five months before they're able to use their degrees for employment? Or is there a way to receive your degree before the ceremony happens?

Hi,
I just got a car from my relative. It has engine swapped with a uses engine of the same model with 80k milage and the hybrid battery was replaced. The milage on the body is 500,000. Was used as a taxi but now painted white. It cost me a total of 3k and i had to spend another 3k to replaced the hybrid wires as they were corroded, front left fender as it was rusted, got original 17 inch rims with summer tires, a wheel bearing, some suapension parts etc. The car came with 16 inch winter tires on rim on which 2 definately need to be replaced. Good deal or should I return it. All safety is done now. I am a big fan of clean cars however the internal body panels are a bit loose in some cases and seat belts are frayed. I can return it but for 6k not sure if I can get better value for money. Giving me 7L/100 km indicated. No noise from engine etc.

I'm currently reading Hyperion by Dan Simmons, and in the beginning is a section with Paul Duré, a devout Jesuit who was exiled from the church to the planet Hyperion. On Hyperion, he discovers a population of deformed and mentally stunted people who worship "The Cruciform", referring to his cross every time they mention it. Not God, not Jesus - the cross itself. Whenever he asks about those or any saints, they have no idea what he's talking about. Paul initially believes this is just a bastardized version of some Abrahamic religion maintained by people who effectively played Telephone with a religion for a bunch of generations until he discovers the reality: The Cruciform is a cross-shaped parasite native to Hyperion, and it embeds itself into your chest and starts to "maintain" you. Even if you're chopped in half, you will be "maintained". The Cruciform, however, doesn't care how much of "you" is still "you", so the deformed and mentally stunted people aren't just essentially cavemen, they're the result of centuries of being "maintained" by The Cruciforms. And what does he decide when he gets afflicted with his own Cruciform? He's not gonna accept that. He's not going to allow himself to be degenerated and end up like the others, seeing it as an affront of God, and soon discovers through medical scans that whenever someone afflicted with a Cruciform gets fatally injured, the Cruciform has to release its grip on its host just a liiiiittle tiny bit in order to start the maintaining process. Thus, in true Jesuit fashion, Paul decides to crucify himself in a forest that is essentially eternally on fire, where he is immolated and fried nonstop for the next EIGHT YEARS while his Cruciform is constantly trying to repair him until he's found by his fellow Jesuit friend who is able to pull the Cruciform free, finally allowing Paul to die. I was squirming in my seat in disgust while I read these paragraphs detailing every gross detail about Paul's still-living remains.
