So I'm 22M and one year into the professional world after graduating. I work at one of the largest banks in the world and I make $80k. It's a pretty good-paying job for first job out of college and it's been nice getting to network in such a large bank.
However, one thing I am starting to realize is that I don't really like my job. It is pretty much a sales role and I'm not doing very meaningful work as an analyst. Granted, I do get great front-end corporate client exposure, which I think has been a great learning opportunity for me. And not everyone gets that chance.
I realize my passion lies in product management and technology. I've made it known to my manager that I really want to pivot internally to a more Product-centered role. And I've networked with several Product managers at the firm and have built great relationships so far. However, due to rigid company policy, I can't think of pivoting internally until August of next year. And it's a big 'if' that there will even be an opening and I can get a Product job. I think it's surely possible, especially if I stay close with my connections, but you never know.
So my question is - do I start applying to Product Management jobs? There's several smaller companies that are hiring and I'd probably get paid more. However, job security would be less and it probably won't be as structured. But at least I'll be doing a job that I'm interested in and building the skillsets I want.
Should I not wait and leave my firm? Should I just ride out the job and see what I can land in a year from now internally? I do like that I've been able to built a great network here at the firm and want to build on those connections. And client and sales experience is still a great soft skill to have regardless. But is it worth staying if I don't like my current job that much?

I 24 (M) had met a colleague soon to be 18 (F) and apparently we got on very well. Now I’m kind of looking for advice because I do not know what I should do about it. I kind of feel wrong to pursue her, but again, we get along so well. Especially how our interests are so similar to each other.
I usually go for women who are around my age as I can’t be bothered with girls who are around 3-4 years younger than me because they usually want to fuck around whereas I’m currently in a period in my life where I sort of want to settle down or rather just take it easy with someone and kind of see where it goes.
We both flirt with each other at work but it’s all harmless fun and games. Now we’ve started to text and it’s been going good so far. Also my other colleagues organised a double date for us, and apparently she is extremely looking forward to it. I also would like to note that I met her mother during my shift at work and apparently her daughter mentions me very fondly with her. Again, I’m kind of not sure what I should take this as, because I’ve never met a girls parents (someone who i am semi- pursuing romantically) before.
To some degree, I’ve thought about this morally, and I didn’t think much of it because if you think about it a six year difference is not much (and also if the relationship was to materialise it is completely legal where i live) however, I kind of feel the age gap a little bit. If I had to describe her, she’s an incredibly intelligent young woman who is also good looking and every time she smiles it kind of brightens my day a little bit.
I think my main concern is that, I am afraid that if anything has to materialise between us, I feel that she will leave me because she would want to explore with other people and not just stick with me (which is completely understandable and fine). This fear is here because it has happened before and have been completely heart broken over it.
Tldr; going on a double date with a girl who is six years younger than me, but im not sure if i should pursue this romantically.

I can be bitchy when I'm stressed out. Naggy. I don't like not knowing how things are going to happen. I'm def not a "live and let live" person. I (20M) have picked up some hours at my old place of work for some extra money. On my second shift I was put onto work with this girl (18F), and because the job only has two people on shift (and it wasn’t overly busy) we killed the time by talking, getting to know each other and it was super nice - we got along well!

Always struggled with finding jobs, ended up doing driving jobs as they involve very little interaction with others. Always loved baking and saw a bakery that my wife happened to visit on a local market and they are advertising for a Baker. Under the false confidence giving of alcohol I sent an email saying how I had seen the job and Always had a love of baking etc and told him about a baking course I did. So I saw a discussion earlier this week about doing the side content, and a commenter warned not to over-level your character, etc.
I'm just wondering how to go about progressing the game at this point. I am level 37, and just beginning act 3. I know there are 6 acts in the game. I want to do side quests, dungeons, etc, but I am now worried that I will get to 50 too fast.
Should I just try to focus on the story, and save a lot of the side content for endgame? I know I can say screw it and just play whatever content I'd like, but I also don't really want to grind through a lot of the story without numbers going up I guess. Not sure how to balance this.

I just want to say in advance that I'm aware that I am in the position I am currently in because of my own doings but feel like I need to get these thoughts out somewhere to feel a little less lonely.
Around the second half of my time in college, I started to feel severe academic & mental burnout. I was getting anxious to the point of getting physically sick. I was really questioning my desire to continue pursuing my degree. I didn't feel like I was performing well enough in school to stand out later on when job searching and well I didn't know what exactly I wanted to do when I graduate. I knew that I still had interest in the topics being taught for my degree but I didn't really know about everything else. I also happened to be bombing the classes I was taking at the time. Knowing that dwelling in my situation was bad, I decided to push through and finish the semester. Unfortunately, I didn't pass those classes so I had to retake them. That also took a toll on me but I knew I didn't have anything else to do but to retake them. Fast forwarding to my last two years, I knew that I needed to gain some work (well intern/research work) experience SOMEWHERE so that I would stand a chance getting a job somewhere when I graduate. However, I just never got the chance to. Whenever I would consider joining a professor's lab, I would start not doing so well in my classes and felt as if I wouldn't be able to balance my responsibilities well. So here I am with a degree and a GPA that isn't terrible but not notable either. I have been able to do some part time work with a small company (whose work isn't in the field I studied) in the meantime but I don't see myself there long term. I want to pursue a career related to my degree but the search has been impossible with my lack of experience. If things don't work out with these companies that I'm interviewing with, I am considering going back to school, so that I can get a full time job somewhere. Overall, this has been tough, with mental and physical health issues lingering. I'm simultaneously anxious about getting a job & falling behind and not doing well, as well as, not having a job. I feel like I'm being a burden to everyone around me and it sucks.

I’ve been creeping on “SHRM-CP Passed” posts for the past year, so I'm excited to finally join and post my own. Feel a huge weight lifted off my shoulders! So many of those posts helped me so I thought I’d share my experiences too 😊Advanced warning that the post is super long. but TLDR: try to get SHRM Learning System if you can and take those quizzes/practice exams over and over again. Know your processes steps. My test also had a lot of q's on Risk Management, Talent Acquisition, and HR Global Strategy & Effectiveness. For SJTs - they ask a lot of q's what to do "first" - typically the answer is doing more investigation and gathering more data. Also, SHRM loves anything to do with collaborating with managers and evidence-based approaches. And they prefer in-person solutions/communications. Rarely if ever, have I seen "send an email" as an answer. The exam was a 3/5 for me on difficulty. 4/5 if I didn't prepare.

• Experience: 3 years, NYC-based. Mostly deal with People analytics, operations, and compensation, but want to pivot into BP & strategy so I thought SHRM would help me more than PHR.
• Study period: 4 months. I had some PTO between March and now, but I tried to study about two hours every weekday after work. A lot of employee relations and compliance-related material was very new to me. Challenged, but learned a lot! If you're a generalist, you may have an easier time digesting the content.
• Study material: SHRM Learning System and certexamdb (https://certexamdb.com/home/course/shrm-cp-practice-exams-2023/3). I’m very lucky my company sponsored that because it’s crazy expensive (to me!) I've read good things about the Willer, Truesdell, and Kelly prep book and that would’ve been my option if I had to pay out of pocket. But if your company can sponsor the cost of the SHRM Learning System, you should definitely get it! I really think their content, quizzes, and practice tests helped me so much and get used to "SHRM-think" (they say it's not a real thing, but I disagree lol). I do think the section quizzes are easier than the actual exam, but the post-exam they have matched the difficulty and set my expectations for the real exam. I basically took the exams over and over again as the exam date got closer. Aimed for 88% and above. Also used the notorious u/AndyPizzle Study Guide as my basis for taking notes :) Took waaay too many notes on top of that (blaming it on the US Laws section lol). Also, some concepts are redundant, like processes for change, strategic, L&D, etc. all have the same general steps.
• Actual exam day: I took it remotely with ProProctor and not sure if I would recommend it. Although I feel more comfortable taking the test alone vs. with other people. They’re extremely strict about the environment around you (they mean it when they say nothing on or around your desk area! They made me move a trash can lol). The most stressful part though was having to restart the environment scan over 3x because the Proctor had disconnected. Also, they're not very quick on matching proctors, so I ended up taking the exam almost 45 mins after the initial appointment time. The whole experience added a bit of additional stress - but that's just my experience!
• Exam structure/strategy: They have a short 5-mins tutorial on how to use the testing tool. Then the exam is split into two sections, each 80 questions, 2 hours long per section. Once you finish a section, you can't go back. I made sure to finish each section within an hour so I had time to review all the q's again. I flagged questions along the way on ones I wasn't 100% sure of or felt I needed more time to think about. After, I went back and reviewed my answers from the beginning, then just kept the flagged q's that I really struggled with. Then went back and reviewed the remaining flagged ones. I felt like Section 1 was harder for me and I used the full time. Section 2 I had about 20 mins left. Not sure if it's because I had relaxed by then though! In the end, there's a 20 q survey. I tried to get through it quickly though so I could see whether I passed lol. They also provide a 15-mins break but I didn't take it.
• Exam content & tips: Not too much on US laws, I know people get stressed about it! But I feel like there were only 5 q's maybe on that? I felt like there was a lot of Risk Management, Talent Acquisition, and HR Global Strategy / Effectiveness q's. But maybe it's because those were the ones I flagged to look back on 😅 Definitely know your order of processes (generally ADDIE). Lots of SJT q's will ask what you'll do "first" in a situation. 90% of the time it's gathering more data, investigating the situation, etc. I also feel like any answer that involves collaborating/partnering with a manager is usually preferred. SHRM prefers in-person solutions - I don't think I've seen too many answers involving sending emails. Also answers with buzzwords like "strategy", "alignment" are usually good bets. SHRM also prefers evidence-based approaches as well.
• Difficulty: I would say 3/5. 4/5 if you don't prep very well. While taking the test I thought I did badly because I'd flagged a ton of q's on the first go-through. But I'm not a confident test-taker in general. The system allows you to "highlight" q's and "strike-through" choices you want to eliminate. I think doing both helped me!

I'm mostly happy that I can get my evenings back and not spend it on studying anymore! 😂 I was dreading the test date but also was happy to finally get it over with (pass or fail honestly lol). I'm a data geek so I'm really looking forward to seeing the breakdown on my test results - they said they'll send it within three weeks! Wish I could see the q's I missed though.So many posts on this sub helped me prepare and set my expectations - so THANK YOU! Guys one of my old classmate confessed me that she had a crush on me but I kept the conversation lightly and moved on telling that it was back when we were small and it's all natural to happen it to someone but she felt that the conversation was getting awkward and left, what to do now. Essentially what the title says is all I need to say but I figured I’d elaborate on it a little bit.
So a little backstory, back in February mom got into an accident, she’s not been the same since. A month after the accident, grandmother helped buy a car, the car she got has issues, frame is about snap in half, power steering fluid is leaking, and a few other things. The car she got into an accident with is trash as well, she figured that she could just get the headlight fixed and drive it as is but the frame is twisted, so that car is also trash (both of these cars mentioned is a 2007 Buick Rainier and a 2004 Buick Rainier). Grandmother bought a 2003 GMC Envoy XUV recently, mom fucking hates it cause it’s “too long”, anyway, ever since the Envoy was bought, she’s essentially hated it since day one. I’m just fucking tired of hearing about the bullshit, I’m about to snap at her and tell her that I personally do not give a single fuck. What do I do?

I (23M) feel like I'm stuck at a crossroad in my life. I live in the UK, I work from home in a job that I dont enjoy because of how repetitive and boring it is but pays well and I dont go out as much as I'd like. I'm quite introverted, don't really drink, go out to pubs/clubs etc. but throughout school I was always the person who most people liked but never liked enough to be full on friends with. I do have popular interests with sports though. I do have a good group of friends now though (all M).
Because my job is fully remote (and 95% Male), I dont really talk to anyone from work and because I dont go out drinking I dont really get to meet anyone new. I've never had a GF or even a first kiss yet. I think I'm on the asexuality spectrum somewhere, but for someone I love I'd be willing to look past it. Because of this, I dont really actively pursue girls like that. I feel like im ready to at least try a relationship or something but I also have a really strong fear of rejection/looking stupid so I feel conflicted.
I am looking to change job but unless i meet someone wherever i work next, which is probably unlikely, i have 0 idea how I'll get close to a relationship. I also want more friends so i can start doing more but given i dont drink (no idea why, just dont like the thought of it) that kind of limits stuff.
Any advice on any of these things would be much appreciated, sorry it's a bit of a ramble.

So I am having an issue with my PS3. It runs Hen (Version 3.2.2) and multiman (Version 04.85.01). I once got a single game running, but after I reset my system (I jailbraked it again) I couldn't get any game to run. I tried many things and it came down to a few questions: 1. I use a 512 GB NTFS drive. Should I stick with it or use FAT32 and split all my games? 2. I've put my games on my drive so it looks like this: ExternalPS3GameDrive:\Game1Folder. Is this right or do I need to follow a certain directory layout? 3. Should I use .iso files or that game folder structure? 4. I've read that webMan is better for booting games. Should I switch to webMan?
I hope you can help me with that :)
