Basically, I (18M) have been considering going to college to give me both some academic and life experience, but also a competitive advantage over other candidates in a particular employment field Iām set on pursuing.
Hereās where things get a little tricky; I have been in and out of high school for two years now. Iāve switched schools three times, Iām already a grade behind where I should be and Iām currently in a distance education program that Iām struggling with. Iām a bit behind in a fair majority of my subjects as well, and I unfortunately havenāt had the motivation to pick myself up.
Iāve been having ongoing issues with concentrating on my classes as well, but Iāve put this down to me being out of the school system for so long.
I want to go to college, I want to get this degree and I want to be able to make a start in my field of choice, but I feel like with my current situation, itās going to be a tough road that isnāt worth walking.
What advice would you give to someone like me? Is there any hope, or am I just better off leaving school all together and trying to find a job that doesnāt require high school qualifications?

My father has NPD and was verbally and physically abusive to my mom and me growing up, I haven't spoken to him in 3 years. I have enough c-PTSD and have been to therapy for 3 years now on and off and have been doing pretty well.
My past relationships have been secure, and this was my first time seriously dating someone off a dating app. I met him 5 months ago, he immediately struck me as insecure since he couldn't give ANY compliments unless he was returning them, would brag about women he dated or had sex with (throw in lines like I dated an OnlyFans model once randomly in the middle of a convo). But I was Okay with having something not so serious with him. Slowly he convinced me he wanted to be serious, and I thought, Sure let's see. I'm way above your league but as long as I'm having fun, I'm willing to try too.
Three months in he started tearing me down - my house was too messy (after he'd create a mess), too disorganized, Is that what you wore to office?, You need better clothes, wear better colors, You don't invest in good things, 'You actually look good in that top/I actually like that top on you' like it surprised him. The best one was he said Your kettle and showerhead suck, I need to buy you the Costco one. for two weeks, until I found a return receipt from Costco for $250 where he returned among other things he'd used for a whole fucking year, the showerhead he talked about so often. I didn't comment, people can live the way they want, but a week before he'd said that People who return things to Amazon after using them are jerks when I told him I met someone who did that*.* Before I said anything about the receipt he said It's not the most moral thing but it works. LOL.
After I threw him out two weeks ago, I realized even though I SHOT BACK at every bad comment he made (I would reason : is he trying to add value to my life? Then realize there's a better way to do that too), even though I knew HE MUST BE HELLA INSECURE about himself to talk like that, though I even knew that this man lives a shit life (lies about having a Master's degree to get dates, tries to come off better than he is) I did slowly internalize some of it though I knew HE WAS WRONG. It was like my dad had come back to tear me down.
I hope that I got my mom (who entertained and is still married to an asshole) out of my system. I'll never again date someone who doesn't deserve me, even FOR FUN.

I don't know why she chose me as I did not feed her and the only attention I paid to her was to shoo her out of my garage. But, she snuck in while I was getting things out of my vehicle. Hi there! We just had 6, 6 in recessed lights installed in our family room. (Room is 21' x 13', with 8' ceilings). The electrician could not install the more traditional canned lights because of some piping that runs through the ceiling, so he installed these wafer lights: https://luxrite.com/products/lr23732. Even with the dimmer down to ~ 30%, the lights feel like they are shining into our eyes when we walk into the room. In contrast, our kitchen recessed lights use bulbs that are tucked up higher into the ceiling, so you don't really see the light source when you walk into the room. Could anyone recommend a different type of thin, canless light that is gentler on our eyes? Or could anyone else suggest an alternative? The room doesn't get much natural light, and lamps were not providing enough light. Thanks!

I had a pixel 7 but recently replaced it with a different pixel 7. I did the full data transfer and everything else is working but when I'm on my lock screen it won't let me pull down the notification shade, it does a weird rolling type glitch and won't alllow me to pull it down unless I unlock my phone and do it from the home screen, it's a bit annoying and I was wondering if anyone has any answers for why it may be doing this, I have no idea what could have changed.

First, the company has over $100 million in cash with NO debt which is rare for a small cap pharma stock. It is currently trading below cash value ($.66 at the time this was written). They have a cash burn rate of approximately $5 million per quarter which allows them to continue operations without raising additional capital for years into the future.
The exciting part is that they have 3 separate Phase 2 trials going for their Z-Endoxifen. As a bit of background, Endoxifen is currently a part of Tamoxifen that is used to prevent and treat ER+ HER2 breast cancer. They recently had a separate Phase 2 trial cancelled early because results were so overwhelmingly positive. Endoxifen has the chance to replace Tamoxifen as the primary prevention and treatment drug for breast cancer as it has currently showed little to no side effects and a higher efficacy during the window of opportunity for prevention in both preclinical, phase 1 trials, and the phase 2 trial mentioned above.

Legislation that will allow police to search for illegal weapons without a warrant was approved Tuesday night in a final vote in the Knesset plenum, passing 20-6 with support from both coalition and opposition lawmakers.
The temporary law will go into effect for 12 months and is meant to equip police with tools to crack down on illegal weapons trafficking in a bid to tackle rising violent crime, particularly in Arab communities.
A similar bill to increase penalties for illegal weapons possession and purchase passed a first reading last year, under the previous government led by Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid.
The new legislation, submitted by MK Yitzhak Kroizer from the far-right Otzma Yehudit party and backed by Yisrael Beiteinu in the opposition, will help "Reduce the number of illegal weapons used by criminal organizations by providing tools to the Israel Police and other law enforcement authorities," according to the text of the proposal cited by Haaretz.
During the 12 months the law is in effect, law enforcement agencies will report to the Knesset's National Security Committee and the Attorney General's Office three times over the year on their use of the operational tools, including the number of warrantless searches carried out and the suspected offenses under which authorization was given, the number of indictments in which the warrantless search was authorized, as well as the number of weapons seized.
In late 2021, police carried out what they said was the largest weapons bust in Israel's history, seizing arms and arresting dozens of gunrunners.

Hey all, just thought I'd share my experiences.
The first three days were bad, but I got through them. It was at this point I realized replacing the habit with something else, like a toothpick, or gum wouldn't work for me. It's a main reason all my previous attempts failed. I have an extremely addictive personality, and the oral fix from gum or a toothpick just didn't come close to the nicotine. I ended up just craving the vape more. I just have to brute force my way through cravings.
I also began tallying each day on a sheet of paper, and hung it on the wall. I look at all the tallies I've garnered and feel the potential shame of having to tear that paper down.
It has been rough. Over the past few weeks, I've gone through horrible manic depression. Mental health is something I've struggled with, but this depression is something else. It's violent. The lows are the lowest I've ever been, and that's saying something. I burst out crying randomly, I'll randomly lose all energy and become lethargic, making it really difficult to get through my job. I won't even get into the negative thoughts (no desire to self-harm), but it has been rough. Really rough.
That's the biggest thing for me right now. I'm so depressed, and the nicotine just clears that all away, for a while at least. I want to use the vape to help make myself feel better. But I know I can't. There's no end game there.
The other thing I'm currently struggling with it just the end-of-day release the vape gave me. It was so nice just hitting the vape and being able to wind down. I struggle to unwind at the end of the day, and find myself going to bed highly strung. I know beer would help, but I'm worried alcohol would be too much of a trigger.
So yeah, that's what I've been going through. My cravings come and go, some worse than others, some way worse. My biggest surprise is the depression. I knew quitting would be tough, but did not realize that nicotine was capable of causing such extreme emotions. Honestly, it's a fascinating insight into the drug, and what the body will do when it thinks it needs it that much. Hopefully some of you found this insightful. Stay strong<3

- I have too much anxiety to leave the house unless absolutely necessary.
- Women were friendlier when I was heavier. Now they either ignore me or look me up and down and roll their eyes.
- I've straightened my hair a few times per year for the past ~20 years and it was fine. Last time I did it fried my hair and now it looks like crap.
- If I scratch an itch, there's a good chance my skin will break.
- I've stopped wearing makeup because the pressure from removing it bruises the skin around my eyes.
- If I get too cold, my toes will bruise.
- The skin around my fingernails and toenails are peeling.
- My lips are always chapped.
- Ass cheek gap is...awkward.
- Dark circles around my eyes.
But what I'm doing helps me with anxiety and I'm still hopeful in my own way. š

I just had to come on here and rave about Forager for a bit. It's an absolute gem of a game that's been keeping me entertained for hours on end. As someone who's played a ton of JRPGs and Pokemon games over the years, I've always found the grinding aspect to be a real drag. It's just not my thing, you know? But Forager is different.
For starters, there's no real story to speak of. But honestly, that's not a bad thing at all. The gameplay is just so damn addictive that I haven't even thought twice about the lack of a narrative. There's just something so satisfying about exploring and gathering resources, building up your base, and unlocking new skills and upgrades along the way.
And the grind? It's just right. I've never felt like I was wasting my time doing the same thing over and over again, because there's always a new challenge to tackle or a new goal to work towards. It's the perfect balance between progress and challenge, and it keeps me hooked every time I sit down to play.
Graphics and sound they're both absolutely top-notch. The art style is charming and colorful, and the music is catchy and upbeat. It's the kind of game that just puts a smile on your face as soon as you boot it up.
All in all, I'd say Forager is a must-play for any fan of RPGs, farming sims, or just casual games in general. It's easily one of the best indie games I've played in a long time, and I can't recommend it enough. So do yourself a favor and give it a shot. You won't regret it.

All in all, I'd say Forager is a must-play for any fan of RPGs, farming sims, or just casual games in general. It's easily one of the best indie games I've played in a long time, and I can't recommend it enough. So do yourself a favor and give it a shot. You won't regret it.
It's crazy because i usually stay away from obscure games, and this game was just a "let's see what it is this about". 50 hours in and i still was asking the same question. Felt like it didn't end. There was always something new, better. And the back story about the developer is even better.

I was happy to have her over and meet his young lady friend.
Now something he told us about her that may constitute a āYTAā from this alone: sheās on the autism spectrum. He said she doesnāt have any friends at school and gets bullied and asked us to please be nice to her and make her feel safe. Last night her brother dropped her off and right off the bat I could see she was VERY high energy. She was really excited (but seemingly a bit nervous) to meet us. Then when we sat down to eat, she was talking pretty much nonstop. There were times my son had to wave his hands at her to let him say something, but she didnāt seem to like letting other people talk, and she would go on tangents a lot of the time. There was also a point where my son mentioned something she was passionate about and she startled us by stomping on the ground in excitement when he mentioned it.
Then her brother came and picked her up, and my son was really happy we got to meet her. Later after the kids went to bed, I talked to my husband about it and I said it was kind of awkward since she was controlling every conversation and pivoting everything back to her, and I half heartedly said āI mean honestly, she was kind of annoyingā and laughed. He pointed out that sheās wired differently and may not have realized how she was coming off and that she seemed really sweet and she seems to genuinely like our son so what more could we ask for.
So hereās the thing. Our 6 year old daughter heard me say that so she ran to our son and told him what I said. Today he approached me about it and was VERY angry with me. He told me she has no friends and has never had any guy show any genuine interest in her (and she is VERY beautiful so he said to āimagine being that good looking and still having trouble finding a boyfriendā) and that I sounded like the shitheads at school who said they were compatible because he didnāt have to listen to her. I was trying to tell him that he heard me out of context and I didnāt mean it but then he went even further and told me her parents (who she doesnāt live with anymore) would openly call her stupid when she was younger so sheās had her fill of insults for one life.

However, since I live in the UK, we decided to just do a small Nikkah event so when I go back to the UK afterward, I can apply for my wife's immigration and once she gets it, then I can go back and do a proper desi wedding and Rukhsati so she can come back with me to the UK. Everything went smoothly, our nikkah event was very fun and I left after a few weeks and came back to the UK. I then applied for her immigration and it is still in process. It might take another 4-6 months but who knows (could be earlier, could be later). Well, we started talking regularly over the call and in messages. We talk every single day, send memes, joke around, and talk about random stuff and jokes overall. She also jokes around and we flirt constantly. I think I got hard feelings for her now and I can't resist it any longer. The issue is that since we did not have a wedding/rukhsati event so we canāt have sex obviously (p.s I live in the UK, and she is in Pakistan). - I have a much deeper appreciation for the value of a lot of mons, shoutouts to Probopass, Sandaconda, Breloom, Medicham, and Klefki. That alone, made this a cool experience.
- I think there's a good reason as to why Emerald and Platinum are most folks' favorites, they were the most fun for me too. Brilliant Diamond gets honorable mention too
- Brilliant Diamond was fun since it was my first ever nuzlocke and I beat it on the first try, but that game is fucking hard. I have rewatched PC's HC run with no status moves a bunch of times and I might try that sometime in the future to build up my skill.
- Ultra Sun was fun but incredibly stressful. Hardest game of them all for me, period, no debate needed. It was fun, but I'm never doing that again, fuck that game. I wrote a reddit post about this recently if you want to know more about why I feel this way. There's a reason it is almost impossible to find the major streamers running this game with any level of recency.
- The Switch games, aside from Brilliant Diamond, just flat out suck to nuzlocke. Not being able to shut of the exp share and complicated ways of randomizing encounters are only the start of the issue. The larger issue being that these titles are unoptimized which makes lagging/crashes just another thing to play around. Scarlet was the worse of the two in this regard. Whenever there was rain or just a heavy set to load, I was down to like 10fps. I have a decently old switch, not sure if that was a factor, but it was so frustrating. Two crashes before the 2nd gym and I had enough. I emulated it and it was even worse, but rare candies and speed up was worth the trade off.
- Back to actual gameplay: For sword encounters I ended up looking up the encounter rates on Serebii and using a 1-100 number generator to pick my encounter whenever I used the overworld. I tried to use random in the grass as much as possible unless there was nothing of interest there. This was satisfying enough, and felt like it struck a good balance between random and strategizing.
- For Scarlet however, I never found a solid solution. First, I tried the tools online. I got Houndour for my first encounter in the first province you gain access to, and ran around for an hour, but couldn't find it. I accidentally ran into a much higher level Litleo during my search, and it ended my first run. I ultimately ended up using tera raid dens to randomize my encounters which made me feel so disconnected from the world. I was essentially sprinting past the hard-to-load zones with tons of lag to get to my next raid den or boss fight, then repeating the process. Additionally the encounter quality went from frustratingly bad to boring once I caught some good mons. It was the same reason a lot of folks find randomized runs unengaging. The game is hard until you catch something overpowered, and then the rest of the game is a breeze.
- My biggest takeaway of this experience is that I am very concerned for the future of nuzlocking new titles if they continue in the direction we are headed in. I am not sure what a solution looks like, but I am hoping the folks at gamefreak understand that some of their most loyal fans really enjoy playing the game this way, and add some features to make it easier to play the game the way we want to. I know they view us as cheaters or something right now, but I feel like that's mostly just a misunderstanding that can be overcome with the proper advocacy. They added a challenge mode to B2W2, maybe one day they can take that a step farther and offer some extra settings specific to nuzlocking. They probably won't, but a man can dream

MSP with 120 clients, had 3 in last 24 hours, D:\ backup storage (8tb WD or seagate SATA) disappear from dell optiplex 8th and 9th gen veeam appliance. at first glance appeared as typical drive failure, but the trend of 2 much less 3 in single day unheard of. im pouring through event logs now for commonalities and called my team to arms to investigate as i fall asleep. sharing to see if anyone else w same issue and one step ahead of me or if you happen to read this w similar issue please report. appreciate any hands on deck, will attempt to maintain updates but im about to fall asleep and plan to go onsite to replace drive. of other note is that on reboot on one, c:\ fails to boot too now!, another the c:\ is experiencing obvious disk locks or system stuttering where as they were flawless day prior. windows update driver push, veeam issue, etc? holler at me. not vm's physical. week prior we had a nutty windows driver issue bring down 10 vm's across 2 hosts at one site. i cant say reboots preface the issue but would caution to reboot anything over next couple days if theres weight to the trend. sorry if im just being a nut but i got a spidey sense for these things :)

I feel gutted. I was so connected to these characters and none of it made sense to me. Why did Joel have to die like that? He should've died a hero's death. After EVERYTHING she's been through and Ellie fucking loses not only her partner and her adopted son, but also her ability to play guitar which was her only way to connect with Joel? The chemistry between Ellie and Dina felt forced. I consider myself a feminist and an LGBT ally so don't think it's because they are women that I think that, it just didn't feel natural. Did Abby and Lev ever even find the fireflies?
Part 1 was such a beautiful story with so many layers intertwined with the virus trope, and now it just turned into a huge back and forth about revenge? Revenge is bad, ok we get it. But it took a whole fucking game and ruining an amazing story to teach that?
