I’m not sure what this is, but it is making me feel extremely insecure and I already have BDD. I just want it to go away.
My skin is red on the side of the bridge of my nose, and in a semicircle around mouth from the sides of my nose. These are not my pics(except the drawing, that’s what mine looks like).
it almost looks as if i cried and my tears turned the skin red.
I do not believe it is perioral dermatitis, as it is not a rash, it’s not that dry and there are no bumps and the doctor did not provide me with an official diagnosis.

As you can see, the bot does not include my bag, or any option on what to do. I don't know how to make the bot adhere to my rules. Please help me, as I am new to this.

Vuxten wasn't sure what he expected as Casey stood up. No flexing, he just shook out his arms, tilted his head to the right and left, then just stood there.
The crowd started clapping and stomping.

All twenty-five robots went into combat stances, their eyes brightening.
The roar of the crowd was a physical thing, mixed with the STOMP STOMP CLAP of the watching troops.
"LETS GET REEEEADY TO RUUUUUUUUMBLE!" the Rigellian female yelled out. "JAWNCONNOR TIME! OOOOOH YEAAAAAAAH!"
The volume of the crowd somehow rose even louder as the Rigellian female ran off the field.
There was a beep and the lights went red. Another beep, they went yellow. A loud buzzer and the lights flashed red before going back to the actinic white of the sodium lights mounted on the portable light set trailers.
Vuxten expected Casey to break into a run, to charge the robots.
Instead he just walked forward, still swinging his arms wide. His sole eye burned bright amber and Vuxten could see hair thin tendrils of purple electricity around his feet when his foot hit the ground.
The robots took five paces, then all broke into a run, spreading out in a curved line with three double ranks in the middle.
One robot reached forward, the robot in front grabbed the rear robots forearms and threw it forward. It sped toward the lone human, reaching out for him.
Casey turned slightly, reached out, grabbed the head as the arms went to either side of him. Before the arms could crush him he knelt down and drove the robot's head into the ground hard enough to shatter it.
The second robot was already flying toward him, in a tight ball. The others were still running forward as the flying robot suddenly unwrapped itself, arms wide, obviously intending on slamming into Casey and wrapping its arms around the human.
Instead Casey took a two quick steps while the robot was still slightly turning, swinging one arm out.
The robot's battlesteel armor shattered like cheap plas as the robot broke in half.
The last flying robot reached Casey, who spun in place, the bare foot shattering the robot into pieces, battlesteel flying out to strike the battlescreens and make them crackled and pop.
The roar of the crowd battered at Vuxten.
The robots converged on Casey and Vuxten gritted his teeth.
He'd seen Casey at work in Heaven.
An open hand slap knocked a robotic head free. A sweeping arm motion broke robotic limbs reaching for him. A kick shattered a robotic thigh. A knee into the robot's midsection caused the armor to shatter and the robot break into multiple pieces.
Vuxten could see the robots landing blows, their kicks blocked by Casey's shin, their punches blocked by forearms or swept aside. Spiked battlesteel fists piston driven as they hammered into the scarred flesh, each impact bringing a flash of purple, but Vuxten couldn't see any damage to the big Terran.
The crowd was roaring. "JAWNCONNOR JAWNCONNOR JAWNCONNOR!"
Usually they survived long enough to swing a single punch before the counter-attack shattered the robot's armor like the battlesteel laminate was cheap macroplas. Casey would reach out and rip chest plate armor away, rip free and arm and beat another robot with the severed arm, smack heads off with a backhand, break a robot's spine with an elbow, or cave in the whole front of the robot with a forearm.
Every move flowed into the next one. Every action was calculated to force a movement that led to the robot being shattered into junk. Vuxten couldn't see any wasted movement, anything that didn't bring around a better position, for the robots to move a certain way, damage or destroy a robot.
The last robot lunged forward, swinging wildly. Vuxten watched Casey slip around the punches, kneeing the robot so it spun. Casey's hand landed on top of the robot's head as his other hand grabbed its shoulder, fingers sinking into the battlesteel armor like it was putty.
Casey ripped the robot's head off and held it over his own head as the body collapsed.
"ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!" Casey roared out.
The crowd cheered back.
Casey heaved the robotic head, the head slamming into the battlescreen and exploding.
Vuxten found himself on his feet cheering as Casey walked back to where he had dropped the black robe and slowly pulled it on. Casey slowly turned, staring at the crowd with one burning amber eyes, then drew the hood up over his head.
The crowd roared their approval as he walked off the field.
"Told you I didn't want to spoil the main event for you, son," Colonel Brett said, exhaling smoke in a long plume.
"Saw him fight during the War on Heaven," Vuxten said, sitting down and accepting the nacrobrew. "What you saw, that was a warm up."
Colonel Brett nodded. "Last week he took on four men in power armor. They lasted just over ninety-seconds before he'd destroyed the power armor," the big Treana'ad laughed. "One of the pilots was knocked goofy, but other than that, he didn't injure them."
Vuxten looked around. "You're allowing this?"
The Treana'ad nodded. "All the way up to General Du.Seelie," the big bug grabbed another nacrobrew and knocked the cap off with his cybernetic bladearm before taking a long pull from it. He belched and looked at Vuxten. "Better to have the rowdies out here fighting and drinking then hitting the Conex brothel than off post, getting drunk, fighting, trying to find someone to fuck, and burning down the town."
Colonel Brett made a motion with his cyberbladearm to encompass the entire field and the crowd that was cheering on an autonomous battlebot competition between two greenie groups.
"These men have not only seen the elephant, they've ridden it, screwed it, and left it with child. Their adrenals and dopamine systems are, to use a Terran phase, blown the fuck out," he shook his head. "The same beings who are fighting out there or cheering on their best friend getting his face smashed in are the same ones watching the early morning episodes of The Kind One or The Happy Neighborhood in the Day Room."
Vuxten nodded.
"Give them outlets for their instincts, their energy, their aggression that doesn't have them knife-fighting outside the NCO Club or getting into shootouts with the civilian law enforcement," Colonel Brett said. The big insect shrugged. "It's the age-old problem. You select for high aggression, moderate impulse control, then train them to be lethal and hone their aggression, then expect them to all behave like good little civvies until the war is on."
The big insect shrugged again. "Some species have tried cryo-stasis. Other species, like mine and the Mantid, bred a warrior caste. Still others try various solutions, none of which are that good."
He pointed out at the field where two power armor troops were fighting hard light holograms.
"The Confederate Armed Services lets this happen. It lets the ones too clever for their own good get into 'trouble'," he made air quotes. "If something goes down, well, this was all off the books and vaguely illegal anyway. Command just turns the other way for anything that isn't too bad, the grunts stay aggressive, and everyone but the reclamation yard workers are happy."
Vuxten nodded slowly. Beside him, Tut'el listened silently, soaking up the older officer's words.
"You started on Telkan, correct?" Colonel Brett asked. "Under General Tik-Tak, right?"
Vuxten just nodded.
"Ol' Tik-Tak, he had his fingers in everything. He let a whole thing like this get run by a Lanaktallan gangster, saved him the trouble of having to 'arrange' it himself," Colonel Brett said. He gave a slight laugh. "Man could bury two expended pistol shells in the dirt and pull out a Madame-Three-Eighteen an hour later."
Vuxten just chuckled and nodded along.
Colonel Brett checked his implant and nodded, standing up and draining away the last of the bottle before dropping it in the trash can.
"Let's go check on your man, Colonel," Brett said.
Vuxten was aware of the two law enforcement officers behind him as he and Tut'el followed the big Treana'ad officer through the crowd, which was cheering on two dozen Grodds engaged in a battle royale, wearing only loincloths.
It was out back of the mek yard, between two partially destroyed Steiner Class scout meks, that they found Casey. He was sitting on an empty crate that had held low-explosive missile warheads, drinking a fizzypop and watching the action in the ring. Peel sat just to the side, leaned back on a cargo net, one mammary exposed and a tiny human holding onto it with closed eyes and a slightly grump expression visible on the side of its face.
His face brightened and he smiled as Vuxten walked up with the Colonel.
Casey stood up, shaking Brett's hand.
"Colonel," Casey said.
"Casey," Brett answered.
"Colonel," Casey said, shaking Vuxten's hand. "Congratulations on the promotion. Gone far since we were trying to figure out how to bust open the Great Gobbler's shell."
Vuxten smiled. "That we have."
"Lieutenant," Casey said, shaking the MP's hand.
"Casey," the LT said, not looking surprised that Casey knew his rank.
"Mister Mysterio," Casey said, shaking the CID officer's hand.
The CID officer laughed. "Cathal."
Casey waved at the boxes. "Cop a squat, gentlemen," he said. He pointed at Peel. "That's my wife, Peel, and our daughter, Hashna."
Colonel Brett moved up and gently reached down with his biological bladearm, caressing the baby's cheek gently. "Little one," he said softly. He looked up. "They're always so cute, human children."
"Thank you, sir," Casey said, sitting back down.
"You won the Regiment Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Fund quite a bit of doss, Casey," Colonel Brett said.
"Always happy to help," Casey smiled.
Vuxten sat with the others, chatting about mostly nothing, sometimes commenting on the matches going on. Peel finished feeding the infant, then burped it, then held it close while it slept, taking part in the conversation.
When the matches ended and everyone started to drift apart, Vuxten moved over to Casey.
"Come to my office during lunch on Monday," he said.
Casey looked up. "Should I bring my sidearm?" he asked, only half-joking.
"No. Just wanted to talk with you about something," Vuxten said.
Casey nodded.
They said goodnight to one another and Vuxten walked with the others back.

The day was miserable. Chilly wind that kept switching direction, rain that couldn't make up its mind if it was heavy or just misty, heavily overcast.
Vuxten sat, staring out the window, and watched as a platoon of dogbois ran by in PT gear.
The three spaced firm knocks at the door came exactly at 1135 hours.
"Enter," Vuxten called out, spinning his chair around and moving closer to the desk.
Casey came in, wearing his ACU's. He moved to the front of the desk, exactly a pace away, and saluted. Vuxten returned the salute and waved at the chairs.
"Grab a cup of caff or a fizzystim, then take a seat," Vuxten said.
"Thank you, sir," Casey said. He moved over and grabbed a self-chilling fizzystim, cracking it open and watching the condensation form. He sat down and took a drink, waiting.
Vuxten thought for second.
"I noticed that Confed hasn't figured out your orders yet," Vuxten said. "Neither has the Telkan Marine Corps, since you're assigned to us."
Casey shrugged. "I figured they'd get around to it."
"I want you to come to Telkan with me," Vuxten said.
Casey frowned. "All right," he said slowly.
"You and Peel both," Vuxten said. He reached out and tapped a pair of manila folders. "I've reviewed the unredacted sections of your records, I've seen you both in action. I want you to come back to Telkan with me."
"Why?" Casey asked.
Vuxten sighed. "They're making me the XO of the training cadre," he said. "We've also got the Primary Leadership Development Course - Telkan, on planet, as well as the Telkan Intelligence Service training center."
Casey just nodded.
"I'm not asking you take command or anything like that," Vuxten said. "I've watched you in action. I've seen you at work. You've got a thousand years of leadership under your belt and either you're a born leader or you've become an excellent one over the centuries."
"Thank you, sir," Casey said.
"Peel has been everything from SAR to Operations Analysis to Operational Emergency Guidance," Vuxten said. "Highly rated, excellent NCOERs, taught at the Confederate Military Intelligence Institute on Terra itself."
Casey just nodded.
"I want you and Peel both as instructors. Classroom and practical," Vuxten said. "With Terra gone, and the Terran Xenocide Event, my people have to defend themselves. We have to learn to not only defend ourselves, but others."
Casey just nodded again.
"I'm pretty sure you're cleared for garrison duty, and a tour in TRADOC is something that the Telkan people would appreciate," Vuxten said. He waited a moment. "I'm not going to force you."
Casey chuckled. "Not often an officer says 'please' to lower enlisted slime like me," he smiled.
"Well?" Vuxten asked.
Casey nodded. "I can't speak for Peel, but if she's in, so am I. If she says she's in if I am, then I'm in," Casey said. He shook his head, smiling. "A few years out of armor, training boots, might be just the thing I need."
"I thought you'd like to watch your baby get older just like I want to watch my podlings grow up," Vuxten said.
Casey smiled. "We're family men now," he said.
Vuxten nodded. "And too many years in service to go running off to the nearest fight with an erection, a gut full of Bingo Cola, and a gun in our hand."
Casey laughed. "All right. You talked me into it." He stood up. "I'll let Peel know, get her opinion, then you can talk to her. She'll let you know if we're in or out."
Vuxten nodded, standing up. He shook Casey's hand.
"Give 471 my regards," Casey said.
"Tickle the baby for me," Vuxten answered.
When the big Terran left Vuxten slowly turned his chair around and stared at the rain outside.

Ok so this happened a week ago... I went with my friend (who is a boy) to Skyzone in Pennsylvania, (where I was visiting) I went into the bounce house and there was a whole ass fight club movie going on in there, kids where ramming into each other and punching each other, not an employee as far as the eye could see. I was trying to get out of there when some 15 y/o tackled me and slapped me! Thought I was an easy target cause I'm a girl, 2 years in Tae Kuan Do kicked in right there and I lifted him up over my shoulder and slammed him into the nearest inflatable slide so he wouldn't get to hurt and I said stop, he did lol. So I went to the front desk and told them, a whole swarm of security guards ran in to stop it, they were out in 2 mins, and I went back in later, asked the guy, his name tag said Philip, I asked if all was ok, no lie he said, "I heard there was I fight!" He yelled at me saying, "You should have come to me!!!!" My 14 year old ass looked at him and I said, with all the sass I could use, "I would have, but you weren't in here now were you???" He got pissed and my friend said, "its your job to look after the kids" and we walked away. Then, later, I was wearing my vest and I asked him to go take it back to our table, (he was getting water anyway) and my mans Philip GRABBED MY VEST WHEN MY FRIEND WAS WALKING OUT, AND STARTED TO HAVE A CONVO WITH HIM!!! Then he said something about a sister and did he find her (his sister was bitch ass at war and a full grown adult) and he just walked away from him. Later, we were going to the trampolines, and he GRABS MY FRIEND AGAIN and says, "I guess you found your sister?" And we both said, at the same time, "we are not related" and we had to FUCKING ARGUE ABOUT THE FACT WE ARE NOT RELATED, AND THE THIS FUCKING CUNT NAMED PHILIP SAYS, AND I QUOTE, "Get out, I don't like liars." WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FUCK?!?!?!?? AND THEN OUR PARENTS CAME IN, TO FUCKING CONVINCE HIM WE ARE NOT RELATED AND TO TELL HIM NOT TO CALL THEIR FUCKING CHILDREN LIARS, AND HE SAID, TO MY MOMS AND MY FRIENDS MOMS FACE, "Well how are they going to learn if you defend them for lieing?" MY MOM WHEN FUCKING BALLISTIC SAYING DO NOT TELL ME HOW TO PARENT MY CHILD. Never go to the Skyzone in Millersburg PA, that is where that creep Philip works...

SUPPORTING THE 2ND AMENDMENT
There’s a consensus amongst gun control advocates that banning or restricting “assault weapons” or devices that “convert” normal weapons into “assault weapons” (brace) will decrease gun related deaths and mass shootings. Is there any truth to this?
Let’s first start with definitions:
The terms Assault Weapon and Assault Rifle are used interchangeably by the media and certain gun control and political groups. The first two definitions (1,2) generally define an assault rifle as a rifle with the capacity to fire various rates of fire (single, burst, full auto), while the other two definitions (3,4) encompass any rifle that resembles to be a copy of the assault rifles used in the military, regardless of the ability or lack thereof to fire various rates of fire. Assault rifles as defined by the U.S. Military are already regulated under the National Firearms Act (NFA). Assault rifles as defined by gun control advocates are simply weapons that have higher muzzle velocity than a handgun, while the assault weapon ban definition was meant to encompass almost all modern rifles. Although is it factually correct that the muzzle velocity of a round is increased by a longer barrel, other factors pay a role in the overall effectiveness. Also, if a rifle is more dangerous based on the muzzle velocity, why are 16” barrel rifles and longer more easily accessible to law abiding citizens, meanwhile short barrel rifles (SBR) with less muzzle velocity, and therefore less effective, are considered more dangerous and regulated under the NFA. Although SBR’s are generally shorter and easier to conceal than longer rifles, they will never be shorter and easier to conceal than handguns, which are also as easily accessible as rifles.
Well, who cares about muzzle velocity, concealability, and overall effectiveness. Isn’t it clear those assault rifles are dangerous and need to be banned so we can effectively lower and prevent mass shootings and gun related deaths?

Homicides:
The FBI reports that there was a yearly average of 14,556 murder victims with weapons from 2015-2019. Out of the yearly average of 14,556 murders with weapons, approximately 70% (10,252) were murders with firearms. Out of those 10,252 murders with firearms, only an average of 3% (315) were with rifles. To provide contrast into how low that is, the average murder with knifes or cutting instruments was 11% (1,544), blunt objects was 3% (446) and personal weapons (hands, fists, feet, pushing) was 5% (669). Suicides:
But how come gun control advocates always have data with significantly higher numbers than what the FBI reports? This is because gun control advocates present data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), who actually tracks firearm related deaths and not murder victims. What’s the difference? The difference is that firearm related deaths include suicides, which actually makes up around 54% of the firearm related deaths in the United States in 2020, thus effectively doubling the numbers. Comparing suicide and homicide trends with firearms:
Only CDC data on firearm suicides from 2018 – 2021 was available. Since the percentage of firearms suicides from all suicides remained consistent (51-55%) at an average of 52%, we will calculate firearm suicides from 2015 -2019 as an average. In 2015 there were 22,980 firearm suicides and 13,847 homicides with firearms. Using 2015 numbers as our base numbers, 2016 – 2019 data was compared and noticed the following: Firearm suicides consistently increased to the highest in 2018 at 25,138 (8.9% increase) and then decreasing to 24,705 (7.5%) in 2019. Meanwhile, homicides with firearms increased to the highest in 2017 at 11,014 (20.4% increase) and then decreasing to 10,258 (12.1%) in 2019. In 2018 the decrease in homicides with firearms was overshadowed by the increasing number of suicides. Comparing homicides in the U.S. with other countries:
So, is the US the homicidal country of the world? Well, not according to data compiled by World Population Review out of California. Keep in mind that there’s no consistent definition and reporting of this data around the world, so we make do with what is available. Based on this data, the US ranks #76 out of 196, with El Salvador and Jamaica having the most homicides per 100,000 residents. It reports the US had 16,214 homicides in 2018, which is higher than the number reported by the FBI. The US seems to be the third largest country in the world. Despite this fact, it still had significantly less homicides than smaller countries like Nigeria (64,201), Brazil (57,358), and our next-door neighbor Mexico (36,685). These countries with smaller population and higher homicides have something else in common…. their citizens are generally disarmed due extremely limited or nonexistent legal access to firearms and crime is rampant as they are unable to defend themselves. - https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/murder-rate-by-country
Now, with all this data in mind, could we reasonably presume that current battles being fought in our political system to restrict access to “assault rifles” (modern rifles in common use) and turn braced pistols into SBR’s could curtail gun deaths in our country? We could ban rifles tomorrow and it would only impact 3% of homicides in the US while simultaneously limiting access to millions of law-abiding citizens. We can classify pistols with braces as SBR’s, which might shift homicides from one classification to another but will not prevent any homicides as there are legal venues for people to avoid turning a pistol in their possession into an SBR. Meanwhile, millions of law-abiding citizens are classified as felons by the pistol brace rule and traffickers can continue to purchase these pistols without braces and purchase the braces or stocks separately, completely circumventing NFA requirements and violating federal law, which they already do by trafficking firearms. Let’s say hypothetically that the US stopped all homicides with guns for a whole year….the number is 0. We would still have over 20,000 firearm related deaths (suicides) per year and continued calls to restrict or ban firearms as a result.
Manufacturing of firearms:
And interestingly enough, data shows that the manufacturing of pistols in the U.S. is actually higher than the manufacturing of rifles or shotguns. This was consistent prior to the enactment of the assault weapons ban. Once the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban passed, production of pistols significantly dropped by almost half, while rifle production remained consistent throughout the ban until it’s sunsetting in 2004. Production of both rifles and pistols consistently increased after the ban expiration, peaking in 2016, with pistols consistently being produced at higher numbers than rifles. The total numbers of firearms produced in 1993 were roughly around 3 million, while in 2016 the total was slightly over 10 million. Even when firearm production more than tripled in 2016 compared to 1993 and homicides and suicides increased from 2012 to 2020, they still remain at lower levels than it’s peak in 1968 and more consistent with homicide and suicide rates found in 1980. There doesn’t seem to be a correlation between the manufacturing of firearms and the overall deaths by firearms. I use gun manufacturing instead of gun ownership as gun ownership numbers are obtained via survey and could produce inaccurate results based on false answers, particularly in states where the government is openly against gun ownership. Meanwhile, firearms manufacturing is greatly driven by demand and the numbers exclude production for the U.S. military.

Mass shootings:
Everyone would expect to see a correlation between mass shootings and increase in homicides in the U.S., but this is not the case. While mass shootings were a rare occurrence, averaging 1 mass shooting per year in the 1980’s, 2.3 in the 1990’s, 2 in the 2000, and an average of 6.6 in 2010’s. The highest single year of mass shootings was 2018 with 12 mass shootings. It would seem that homicides not involving a mass shooting were decreasing, while mass shooting events are increasing, and overall homicides were on a decline from 2016-2019.

Suggestions:
1). To adopt and standardize definitions for assault rifles and mass shooting events that is accurate and report on and analyze suicides, homicides, and mass shooting trends separately.
2) Implement gun safety education nationally to decrease the possibility of children handling and accidently discharging a firearm.
3) Divert resources to focus on prosecuting criminals and investigating crimes rather than targeting all firearms, which will have a minimal impact on preventing homicides, trigger constitutional scrutiny and diverts prosecutorial resources to fight 2nd amendment rights.

Synopsis:
Juliette Contzen is a lazy, good-for-nothing princess. Overshadowed by her siblings, she's left with little to do but nap, read … and occasionally cut the falling raindrops with her sword. Spotted one day by an astonished adventurer, he insists on grading Juliette's swordsmanship, then promptly has a mental breakdown at the result.
Soon after, Juliette is given the news that her kingdom is on the brink of bankruptcy. At threat of being married off, the lazy princess vows to do whatever it takes to maintain her current lifestyle, and taking matters into her own hands, escapes in the middle of the night in order to restore her kingdom's finances.

Chapter 13: Clockwork Doll
Apple let out a snort as he plodded along the uneven dirt lane. Whether it was the rapidly degrading quality of the roads or the new company he found himself in that was the source of his ire, I would never know.
Beside us was Coppelia, walking at an easy pace despite the many sacks she was swinging. Swinging. Not carrying. She didn't sling those sacks of loot over her back like some overworked mule, but swung them as she walked like a young girl toying with a basket of flowers in the meadows.
It was a ridiculous sight. A girl keeping up with a trotting horse while also carrying more than the animal's burden. Granted, as a work horse, Apple was no galloping steed. He went as fast as he wanted. And that was very slow.
Still, I had to accept the slight on Apple's image. The horse could not have carried the extra weight. He lacked the bridle necessary to pull a cart. And while I'm certain I would have fashioned a solution, I wasn't one to reject the appeasement of commoners.
Thus, girl on foot.
Or rather, a clockwork doll.
“You know, you've been staring for a while,” said Coppelia, turning to show the giant golden key sticking out of her back. “Go on. Want to touch it?”
She didn't look the slightest bit shy. And I didn't act the slightest bit incurious.
It'd take a level of ignorance neither of us possessed to pretend that she wasn't an extreme rarity in this kingdom. Only a few workshops possessed the knowledge, technical and magical expertise to build clockwork dolls. And none of them were in Tirea.
The fabrication process required to create one was said to be so demanding that it was always clear when a doll was being built. Sales of coffee beans boomed.
And now I fully understood why.
A girl whose beauty almost rivalled mine. Almost. She looked my age, or perhaps a year younger. A sweet and dignified appearance, yet she had a spritely smile full of mischief … as well as cogs, sprockets and gears.
Seeing such a marvel of engineering before me, I now fully understood what I had to do.
… I had to build my own!
What was this?! Not only was she pretty. But she was strong! She couldn't just carry tea cups. She could carry me! With someone like that by my side, I wouldn't need to work an extra day in my life!
“M-May I?” I replied, urging Apple to slide over as I reached down for the golden key. “Do I just … touch it?”
“Sure. Just make sure you don't turn it.”
“I see … and what would occur should I accidentally turn it?”
Coppelia puffed up her cheeks, then popped the air.
“Boom.”
My hand froze. I looked at Coppelia.
She didn't correct herself.
“Per … Perhaps it's better if I don't,” I said, swiftly uprighting myself on the saddle. “Besides, you're hardly some plaything to be prodded and poked. I apologise for my less than discreet ogling. Clockwork dolls are not known to visit Tirea.”
“I bet. I mean, who'd want to visit this tiny kingdom out in the boonies?”
I almost choked on my response, such was the speed at which my indignation sought to leave my lips.
No matter how wonderful this invention of engineering was, that didn't give her a blank cheque to disregard my kingdom like some downtrodden restaurant!
“T-Tiny?! The … The boonies?! Miss—”
“Coppelia.”
“Coppelia! This is a majestic kingdom, graced with verdant fields and enterprising scholars! I assure you, there is nothing tiny or … or boonie-like about this rich land!”
“Really? My memory core must be out of whack. It says the Kingdom of Tirea is the second smallest independent nation-state by surface area on this continent, and that it's gross economic output—”
“Shhshhshhshh!! This … This kingdom holds treasures beyond the definition of crowns and industry. We measure prosperity in different ways. In culture. In harmony. And in peace.”
“You were attacked by bandits five minutes ago.”
“A most unfortunate and poorly timed coincidence that doesn't reflect the safe and harmonious nature of this kingdom.”
Coppelia giggled, delicately bringing up the back of her hand to hide her lips … all the while still gripping those huge sacks.
Such brutish strength! It was … marvellous!
Imagine if I had such a useful attendant by my side! The next time Roland hid behind a door to frighten me, I could order her to rip the door off and launch it and him through the nearest window! The possibilities were endless!
“Unfortunate and poorly timed coincidences are the domain of Ouzelia, actually. It's pretty much our trademark, and we guard it zealously. I'm afraid you can't have that.”
Her words could have been written as jest, but her tone was anything but.
“I see. My tutors always said that Ouzelia was a land of splendour and opportunity, and that its freedoms exceeded even that of Tirea.”
“A rotten lie. What did they actually say?”
“That it was full of oddballs and I should stay away.”
“Much better.” Coppelia twirled as she took her next steps forwards, swinging the sacks perilously close to Apple's side as she spun. “Ah, Ouzelia, where dragons roam the skies and there exists no fiction in fairytales. Humans live with ogres. Ogres live with goblins. Goblins live with … well, nobody since they're kinda grouchy. How are the ones here?”
I gave it a moment's thought, then decided to answer honestly.
“Still grouchy.”
“Goblins, eh?”
“Goblins.”
I nodded, needing to say little else.
At least ours were fiercely isolationist. As were our ogre clans. Such a mixing of cultures could never be considered in Tirea, where few non-natives other than the odd troll caravan or questing minotaur could be found passing through our towns and villages.
Then again—
As I stole a glance at the girl alternating between walking and skipping beside me, at the heavy sacks in her hands, and the large golden key protruding from her back, I couldn't help but think that even a dragon probably wasn't as rare as a princess and a clockwork doll passing through our streets together, either.
“Have you been searching for this missing book for long? I'm curious how much time you've spent wandering the kingdom.”
“Waaay too long. These shoes weren't made for walking. But books are hard to find. Especially the one I'm after. Alas, if only I had a different job. My sisters, they got jobs like cleaning bookcases. How wonderful is that? Books always get lost. But bookcases? If that's all I had to do, I'd be able to relax at the—”
“I understand!”
“Eh?”
A flush of excitement ran through me as I seized on the opportunity at once.
Ohhoho! Indeed, rejoice, fair clockwork maiden! No insinuation was lost on me!
As a princess trained in the art of reading cues and desires, I was adept at understanding the words between the lines as keenly as a conductor sensed the notes weaving amongst a grand sonata.
And my instincts were telling me ... that she wished to serve under me as my personal attendant!
“A-Ahem, if cleaning is something you wish to experience, I can offer you a position as attendant. You see, I happen to have left my previous residence without any. Therefore, you may be at ease, as from now, I will declare you to be my sole—”
“I refuse.”
“Geh?!”
My jaw dropped at the abruptness of her rejection.
Could … Could it be that I was wrong? Or perhaps I'd pressed her too suddenly? True, it was only natural to react with inappropriate modesty when presented with such an envied position as the personal attendant to a princess. There were rivalries to consider. New enemies to watch. Old allies to turn. To become my sole attendant was to make one's social debut in high society. Even a maid could be elevated to the lowest rungs of lower nobility by adopting such an exclusive role.
Hmm?
But wasn't I forgetting something?
Ah, but of course! She didn't know I was a princess!
“I refuse,” she repeated cheerfully. “Thank you for the offer. But I've no need for a mistress. My loyalty is to my library.”
A bizarre croak exited my mouth as a thousand responses amalgamated into one.
I … I couldn't tell her!
I was supposed to be incognito, not hiring new employees!
“Sooo, well-dressed, haughty girl who wants an attendant ... is it just 'Juliette'? Or is there a 'High Ladyship' or 'Her Revered Countess, Holy Destroyer of Unwanted Beetles' title somewhere in there as well?”
I winced.
Partly because my masterful disguise as a titleless 'Juliette' was clearly not enough to hide the fact I was simply far too dignified to pass as anything less than nobility. But also because she'd just butchered our entire peerage system in one single sentence.
“Those are not titles.”
“My cunning word trap worked. So, nobility?”
“Undisclosed.”
Coppelia raised an eyebrow.
“Royalty?”
“............”
Hmm?
What … What was that?
Was that … sweat? Why was I sweating? How long had I been riding for? When had sitting in a saddle been such a taxing activity on me?
“U-Undisclosed ...”
For a moment, Coppelia had the look of someone who wished to make an unnecessary comment. I was relieved when she didn't.
… She didn't suspect!
Really now. That was too close. And the fault lay entirely with me.
It was vexing, but the truth is that I didn't enjoy parading myself as anything less than a princess. To do away with my title was difficult enough. But to adopt another was quite another. I needed to find a compromise … eventually.
Eventually.
Meaning ... there was no rush!
I had no need to dive straight into the details of my subterfuge, did I? Once I picked an identity, I'd need to actively utilise it or risk being outed. I couldn't have that. A poor identity was more suspicious than having none. It'd undermine everything!
Therefore, the best thing to do was to disclose nothing. The less I spoke about my background, the less anyone would suspect I was a princess. If anyone asked me if I was Juliette Contzen, 3rd Princess to the Kingdom of Tirea, I could simply refuse to answer and they'd be none the wiser.
Ohohoho! Genius.
Why make things harder? Sometimes, less truly was more.
“To answer slightly more, I can't offer myself for any role other than that which I'm already sworn to do. My purpose is to search for unreturned books. That means I'm forbidden from washing the dishes of any ladies of high standing. Or putting on their socks. That one is specifically ruled out.”
I nodded, taking the loss of a potential handmaiden with good grace.

Fortunes waver and ambitions stir. When this girl wished to seek a rewarding new career path in the exciting world of courtly backstabbing, treachery and betrayal, I'd ensure that the door remained open.
“I see. A terrible shame. Nevertheless, I applaud your loyalty to your library. Indeed, by refusing my first offer, you passed the first test to becoming my personal attendant. Should you wish to continue this application, you may do so at any time.”
She connected her thumb and index finger into a circle and smiled lazily.
“O-kay~”
I contented myself with that somewhat lackadaisical response. It lacked the dirt eating grovelling that I usually received when overseeing prospective hires … but I was nothing if not mildly flexible!
When it came to receiving a promising new attendant who could carry my extensive wardrobe wherever I pleased, I was willing to bide my time.
In fact, if she could display such wonderful strength, would that not also make her an excellent candidate to be a bodyguard? If so, that'd make her a two-for-one attendant! I'd be the envy of the soirée!
“By any chance, does your prodigious ability to carry large weights hint towards how you defend yourself in this peaceful and harmonious land?”
“Hmm?” Coppelia looked down, then blinked at the sacks in her hands. “Oh, this? This is nothing.”
“I disagree! … Hence why I note that you carry no weapons on your person, and yet you're able to traverse the perilous wilds that exist between Ouzelia and Tirea. Tell me, would you happen to be proficient in overcoming physical confrontations?”
“My, my, my … what are you implying? I have my feminine wiles and girlish charms. What else do I need to travel the wide world?”
Coppelia flicked her fluffy golden hair and gave a smile as radiant as the sunshine.
I was appalled.
Who did this girl think she was? Me?
Clearly, she had to boast martial skill or magical ability. Not everyone possessed a princess's charisma. And for all the confidence in her smile, that also included her.
“Charm and wit is not enough to negotiate the dangers that pervade this world, unless you're me. Everyone else requires the knowledge of a scholar and the intuition of a rogue. To challenge, to compromise, or to flee based on coldly evaluating every morsel of insight available to you. This is the trifecta of choices one must continually master in order to overcome foes who wish to force victory through brute force alone.”
Coppelia nodded, interest sparkling in her turquoise eyes as she had the politeness to feign the correct amount of being intrigued. A valuable skill set. My tutors would be pleased.
“I see, I see … but what if your foe isn't someone who wants to talk or fight?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, what if it's say, a blight? How would you overcome that?”
“A blight?”
“A blight affecting crops and pastures, a faceless enemy with no notion of negotiation or belligerence. That'd be pretty tricky, wouldn't it? I just want to know where on the manual that is.”
I tilted my head slightly.
It was a concept I had to wrap my head around. To be frank, something which didn't try to sully my reputation or outright assassinate me wouldn't truly count as a foe.
At least not until I saw the first inklings of withering intruding upon the corner of my eye.
Apple came to a stop as I tugged back his reins.
Turning my gaze slowly, I took in the sight of the fields that lay ahead.
Appalling parched fields crept down from across the horizon. Beyond half-wilted lines of hedgerows and trees, a scene of death and decay promised to wait for me. The contrast to the green fields to my sides were stark.
Beyond a rotting demarcation as clear as lines in the sand, I saw a vision of the fine pastures fit for napping replaced by a barren stretch of broken livelihoods.
I couldn't believe it. Was this what was meant by failing crops?
This was beyond what I had imagined! We hadn't even entered the lowlands yet! Was this some disease in the soil? How far did it stretch? How much of our farmland was lost?
It was more morbid than anything I could have envisaged. I could literally see the trail of tax income from yield percentages to stall revenues collapsing in front of me! Each fallen stalk of wheat was another feather snatched from my pillow!
It was horrible!
Beside me, Coppelia was cheerfully humming an unknown melody.
Judging from the brightness of her tune, the state of the kingdom's collapsing grain reserves and the riots that were certain to follow ranked lower on her reasons to be concerned list than it did mine. It was not, after all, my fate that she shared. Even now, I could see a grim future where my family was forced to sell our gold framed portraits and ruby inlaid candlesticks just to appease the peasant masses.
The indignity almost knocked me off my saddle.
Awakening from my stupor, I clenched my fists and spurred Apple onwards.
It was time for Juliette Contzen, the Third Princess of the Kingdom of Tirea, to do her duty. No matter what, I would prevent a future where I was forced to degrade my quality of life. To live as though I were mere nobility.
Or worse, common-born nobility.
No blight would stand in my way.
This, I solemnly vowed.

Here’s the story of the greatest rescue mission ever (by a noob), which started with a simple desire to explore.
My friend and I had roamed most of our starting biome and had the thirst for adventure. Having mined enough copper for some tasty weapons, set up a starting portal, and crafted a boat we decided to load up with food, wood and other essentials (extra portal) and hit the open ocean.
The wind was in our sails as we ventured north, and we had soon passed some of the closer islands we’d scurried across on days gone by. About 20 minutes into our voyage, and we’d not seen any major landmarks, but soon enough we stumbled across a land mass with some peculiar looking trees and what looked like a deserted beach. Bare in mind my Viking friend and I had only just started our first venture on the game and had avoided major spoilers too, this island looked peaceful and a sure place to dock. Could we have been any more mistaken?
My friend jumped ashore as I docked the boat in a reasonable position to make an escape. As I made my way up the beachy grass I heard my friend call out ‘oh wait look there’s a village and people!!’. Assuming there were friendly NPCs in the game we quickly hurried up towards the first hut and camp fire only to be faced with what were most definitely not fellow vikings, but dastardly Goblins.
My friend fell first, he took a javelin through the neck that was launched perfectly from the nearest enemy, and collapsed into a heap. I scrambled back to the beach and fumbled my way to make a portal (why hadn’t we done this first?). Alas, I didn’t make it in time, and I was struck down by a blade in the back.
This was a problem, all our good loot: weapons, tools, food and armour were on that island. We woke up back at our base naked, with no major tools or equipment to hand. We decided we had no choice but to head back to the island and attempt to rescue our lost treasure before making a timely retreat.
We had enough bronze for literally another boat and an armour set for each of us - assuming this might offer more protection than the troll armour we had worn on our previous conquest. We stocked up with whatever scraps we could find, checked the starting portal was still up (it was named 3), and set sail back up to island of nightmares.
Night fell as we hit the open ocean, the waves grew choppy and violent as we crashed through them. Suddenly something caught my eye to the left of us, what looked like a spine with glowing green spots. All of a sudden our hearts sank as we realised we were facing a Kraken of sorts. We steered the ship with the wind as best as we could and tried to outrun this serpent looking monster. The gods were with us, as fortunately the wind was taking us towards our destination, but the snake wouldn’t let up. It nipped at our heels until the island came back into view, assuming we’d be terrorised by our foes ashore the snake turned around, bored of its chase.
We paused, hearts still racing. We could see our headstones glowing, teasing us. We consumed what food we had left, and formed a plan. We parked up between both our head stones and crept ashore under the cover of darkness (why didn’t we wait for daylight?)
I made it to my headstone with relative ease and started to grab what I could, however all was not well. I panicked as down the mic I heard the cries of my friend - murdered again, ambushed by the green cretins as we’d come to name them. His last words ‘they’re coming’ made me close the headstone and race back to the boat as fast as I could. But my heart sank as for whatever reason it had become stuck on a rock and our previous vessel was nowhere to be seen.
I panicked and dove into the water and hid behind the boat. Soon enough I started to drown, and knew I’d have to wade ashore. But as I made my way round the boat I realised that by some miracle the chasing goblins had lost me in the darkness. Now I was truly stuck. Alone. But through the darkness I saw something: the glowing red stone of our destroyed portal.
I let 5 minutes go by, as I gathered my thoughts and courage. Slowly, I sneaked up the edge of the beach to where our portal had been and grabbed the materials before dashing back to the cover of the ocean. As I began to craft the workbench I heard them. I raced to place the portal. Footsteps and screams growing louder. I entered the portal menu and typed ‘3’. Before duking two goblins round the enchanted circle, and dashing into it once I heard the roar of its activation.
A cry of relief. I was home, and better still the portal was active for my friend to return and grab his fallen items. He waited a day, but still only made it back through by the skin of his teeth.
The portal now remains out of bounds, for now. We will be back goblins.
This game is bloody brilliant.

Hey there reddit. So I've been staying at my girlfriend's place for a couple of weeks. It's a house share with fairly small rooms and 4 other occupants. There's a pretty large communal kitchen where they all cook for themselves and it's kept (relatively) clean.
My girlfriend and I had some laundry to do. The washing machine is in the kitchen so we brought our clothes in there and sorted them into piles of whites and colours. We did a couple of loads of washing and left the piles pushed up against the wall nearest the machine while it was running.
While the second load was in, she got a text from a roommate into the house group chat asking her to "remove the dirty clothes and underwear from the middle of the kitchen floor". She responded and pointed out that the laundry wasn't in the middle of the floor and was beside the washing machine. The room mate then said that the kitchen "isn't the laundry room" and that she should be more respectful as people have to eat dinner in there.
We feel that this was a bit of an overreaction. The clothes were on the ground for maybe 2 hours while the machine was running and they weren't blocking the door or any parts of the kitchen people need to use and could be easily ignored. To be clear, we did move them shortly after being asked to. There were maybe 2 loads worth of dirty laundry on the floor when the message was sent.
The kitchen is a communal space so I'm not sure we're in the right here. So, am I (are we) the asshole?

Appreciate some advice from the experts here:
I'd like to get back into bassoon playing after a 25 year absence. I've come across a Nobel composite bassoon for 3000CAD or 2200USD. It's from a general instrument chain, and it does have a return policy. There's only one review I came across and it was positive. Would this be worthwhile, given the return policy?
There's also a Linton plastic for $400USD or a beat up high school Conn for $1200USD. I would be purchasing these unable to inspect them personally, no return policy. The nearest big city (Toronto) is 2 hours away, and bassoons are rare even there. I don't mind paying an extra $1k to restore an instrument if it will be quite playable, but don't wish to waste my money either... (If they're resalable after I get some use out of them though then I'm not too worried...)
Thoughts on any of these bassoons?

Q: When will [insert game name here] be cracked?
A: STOP! CrackWatch members are not psychic. Games get cracked by completely ANONYMOUS SCENE GROUPS who don't disclose their progress or plans to the general public so NO ONE knows WHEN and IF a certain game will be cracked.
 
Q: What are all these NFO thingies? Where do I download?
A: NFOs are text files included with game releases which contain information about the releases. CrackWatch only informs which games have been cracked. To download look for the releases on CS.RIN.RU's forum or torrent websites. Useful websites can be found in The Beginners Guide or PiratedGames's Mega Thread.
 
Q: WTF is Denuvo?
A: Denuvo is a Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology used to protect games from being cracked. Games that have Denuvo are harder to crack and usually take much longer. See Pinned Post for a list of Denuvo games.
 
Q: An update is out, but it includes the base game as well! Can I only download the update without redownloading the entire game?

Games get cracked by completely **[ANONYMOUS SCENE GROUPS](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warez_scene_)** who don't disclose their progress or plans to the general public so **NO ONE** knows **WHEN** and **IF** a certain game will be cracked.   **Q:** What are all these NFO thingies? Where do I download? **A:** NFOs are text files included with game releases which contain information about the releases. CrackWatch only informs which games have been cracked. To download look for the releases on CS.RIN.RU's forum or torrent websites. Games that have Denuvo are harder to crack and usually take much longer.
