I’m glad you asked.
A well known Twitter personality (who ironically is a Kentucky fan) named @BarstoolBigCat started playing NCAA 14 a few weeks back to pass the quarantine. He has been changing schools and taking new jobs every ‘season’ and his career so far is:
OC @ Toledo > OC @ FSU > OC @ USC > HC @ Texas Tech > HC @ Tennessee
His coaching style has been characterized by a high-flying offense dubbed #AirDuggs and has led to dozens of 500+ yard passing games on his quest to alway score 50+ > known as a ‘50-burger’. This style has produced career highlights that include a MAC title, Fiesta and Rose bowl trophies as well as 2 separate Heisman winning QBs.
At Tennessee he is currently undefeated despite an absolute nailbiter against Florida that included a 4 yard TD run with only seconds left.. After the last victory over Toledo, Tennessee has finally cracked the rankings and will be playing Georgia at some point tonight.

Its a weak selection of content for a top 10 list. The only 2 original pieces in the list (Large and Frances) everything else is a circle jerk of barstool against the world or self promotion. Not sure what i was expecting; i don't read the blog much unless its linked here. It certainly reaffirms that was a good decision in 2018.

Basketball take of the year winner : Steven A Smith for falsely reporting that The Durantula was going to the Lakers, and when K.D. Denied the report hewent on first take and threatened K.d. Telling him he didn't want to make an enemy out of him. The boys supported and backed up Steven A for the first ever takie win.

Very special courage award, the donald trump courage award for standing up for white men: clay travis. The boys appreciate him fighting the good fight.
Rick riley late joke of the year: they the goof on rick for making a 2 week late joke about michael phelps getting pregnant. And a handful of other lame 3 day old jokes. But in a surprise twist bill simmons wins for making a bad paris hilton joke about five years late.
Lifetime achievement award goes to magic johnson for having the most braindead twitter feed. Then the boys read stupid magic tweets.
Take of the year goes to steven A Smith for saying he could have convicted O.J. And blamed marcia clarke and chris darden for o.j. Getting off. Completely ignoring the fact the jury bought the race card johnny cochrane sold hook line and sinker. The boys believe that arguing with skip bayless for years would have prepared him for a victory.

Saturation of podcasts...are their too many?

How is he not the number one target for all their podcasts? He has so much insight into espn, general sports, a pulse of twitter. Would be a fantastic grab and given their twitter interaction lately it would seem to be a person who is willing.
would be a hybrid podcast/rundown, but kmarko talking some college stories with him, pres/bigcat needling for espn takes... all could talk about the general status of being a "personality" on twitter

does anyone follow Bigcat and Pres twitter battles with him? This guy is the lamest person on the internet. I saw Pres tag him in a tweet where he was the #1 podcast in the country. Jamie's tweet back was "were you neglected as a child"? Was like Jamie brought a knife to a drone war.

Another post using the twitter API to capture some barstool statistics. Kinda loserish but at the very least I learn something new while screwing around at work.
Someone last week (BigHusky2013) commented I should look into who has the most unique twitter following at barstool. I used the twitter api and a python twitter package to collect the followers of most barstool guys. I included jerry thornton, zollo, dante, dana and jenna marbles just for fun.
I plotted the results (jaccard,prob) two ways: (1) jaccard index which is a measure of "similarity" between two sets and (2) a simple probability measure: given you follow X, what is the probability you follow Y (P(YX)). All twitter accounts are sorted in decreasing followers order (jenna marbles at ~4mil to zollo at 2k).
Jaccard index works great for sets of similar size - you can see that higher values are found around y=x. This is because the way jaccard index is calculated. If all of zollo followers' follow pres, the jaccard index would be (2k/(230k+2k-2k)) which is really small. The probabilistic measure however would be (2000/2000).
It is clear from the data that jenna has nearly no ties to the barstool community (makes sense so good check). Dante is also fairly independent of the barstool community. Jerry is getting away from barstool - a follower of jerry is somewhat likely to follow pres and a little less so bc, kfc and feits. I assume this correlation has gotten weaker since jerry has been on his own - unfortunately I cannot get the time history. Busboybenny and caleb are fairly strongly correlated which makes sense - same for dana and blind mike. Bigcat and kfc are correlated with pres however by much less (20 points less) than the the remaining barstool employees which means they are doing a good job of establishing their own fan base. Additionally I think it is interesting that the @barstoolsports account is somewhat independent of the remaining accounts. This may be indicative that the dixie tour / social media has done a good job of establishing a barstool fanbase without the need of the main bloggers.
I want to continue on this work in the next few weeks/months to try and establish geographically where independent followers are located. I.e. where are people who only follow big cat located? @barstoolsports? Etc. I think that will be a good way to figure out how successful the dixie tour has been.
