We are a neighborhood of 170,000 people in the most-diverse county in the United States. This is a highly-moderated sub.
2023.06.10 08:26 WarGasam123 Green Arrow game
Just finished the Horizon Forbidden West DLC Burning Shores. Excellent game by the way. But got me thinking that the Horizon game would be an amazing template for a Green Arrow, and/or Hawkeye game. I would love to run around star city working my way to foil the plans of Malcolm Merlyn or Deathstroke. On the same hand I'd be more then happy to fight my way through NYC to take down Taskmaster or Bullseye.

2023.06.10 08:12 alurry [US] [Selling] Entire 4K SteelBook Collection (250+)
I am selling my entire personal collection. 95% of these were purchased new by me. Immediately after purchase I put them into the plastic protectors and haven't removed them since. None are heavily damaged (bending, major dents, multiple large scratches, etc.). There may be tiny dents, scratches, and the odd spine slash here and there. When you are ready to purchase I will let you know if I see any noticeable damage, however minor or major.
These are all used and opened and none contain the digital code or j-card. The vast majority contain all the original discs but a few might be missing the regular blu-ray. Most discs have never been played but I have watched a few once or twice. No issues while playing any of them.
I will ship for free via Media Mail. If you would prefer I ship using First Class or something else we can work out an extra fee. I would prefer to use PayPal F&F but will accept G&S if you insist. I will ship with the plastic protector (or with the slipcover that originally came with the SteelBook) and I will ship securely in a box with lots of bubble wrap (see picture below).

Prices are somewhat firm but it's hard to say what a lot of these are worth so feel free to make an offer. The more you buy the better deal I can give you. 10% off (possibly more) if you buy 2 and it only goes up from there. I would prefer to keep most of the collections together for now but could sell individually for the right price.

DigitalCodeSELL (check my post history). I can also link you my eBay page if that is allowed. 3.6K items sold with 100% positive feedback.

2023.06.10 07:53 Selfloveact Hi I’m new! X-RAYS and $$$$ bills 💸
| Hey everyone! I was diagnosed with periodontal disease within the same month I was diagnosed with type two diabetes 2 years ago. Yesterday they took out my#13 🦷! My 2nd bicuspid. So I’m missing both my bicuspids 😭! It was an aggressive active infection that spread and took it. My entire left side of my upper mouth is gonna eventually go before the upper right (hopefully we can save some) . We really tried when I worked out of town to get my regular maintenance but my work insurance lapsed due to working out of my area for a year so I didn’t have insurance for 9 months!!!! I didn’t prioritize my cleanings right away like I should of. It’s important to say that everything felt fine. There was no sensitivity or pain. No “warning signs” of infection dentally. Now were trying to save my bone, not teeth. Keep in mind diabetics that this is me at A1C levels at 📉6.7/6.5/6.3. So my diabetes game is strong. Thank god. Just remember y’all, there’s no shame in this disease. But time and daily care does make a difference. So does your immune system! Being diabetic did change the way my body responded to infection. My blood sugar has been up the last few weeks and it wasn’t my diet. I was tripping cause I’m usually at 99% range and all of a sudden I was seeing super highs of 📈160-270. I eat cleeeeaaannnnn. It was my periodontal disease infection 🤦🏾 My tops are bad but the lowers are hanging in there!!!!! I spent a lot of money the minute my insurance was in! So don’t let fear ruin your gums, teeth, or bones! It has to be cleaned by a professional who can reach places our floss can’t. Learn from my misssttaaaakkkkkeeeee!!!!! I know it’s a lot but pay it. Good luck 🍀 and I wish you 3mm or less, with no infections for the rest of your life. submitted by Selfloveact to PeriodontalDisease [link] [comments] |

"The Reaper's true nature is hidden, but the unsuspecting pay the price."
Lore:
In the dark and twisted realm of the 1990s, a young adult named Jonah Harper found himself entangled in a web of blackmail and coercion orchestrated by the enigmatic Fog Whisperers. Known as "The Reaper," Jonah was a defiant soul who resisted their insidious influence. Once an ordinary individual, Jonah's life took a fateful turn when he stumbled upon the secrets of the Fog Whisperers, a cult that revered the enigmatic fog and sought to wield its power. Sensing his rebellious nature and potential as a deadly instrument, the cult seized upon Jonah's weaknesses, exploiting them to force him into becoming a cold-blooded killer. Bound by a twisted pact, Jonah was manipulated into carrying out the cult's sinister bidding, stalking and striking down unsuspecting victims within the fog-veiled realms. Yet, beneath the veneer of his compliance, a flicker of defiance burned within him, refusing to be extinguished by the darkness that enveloped his soul. As Jonah reluctantly carried out his dark deeds, his path crossed with Reina Kingswood, an ardent devotee of the fog. Believing that becoming a Hunter would grant her the ultimate connection with the fog's power, Reina set her sights on eliminating Jonah, viewing him as an obstacle to her ascension. A tense confrontation ensued between The Catalyst, a loyal servant of the Fog Whisperers, and The Reaper. The clash of their opposing ideologies and loyalties ignited a violent conflict, a battle that epitomized the struggle between unwavering loyalty and defiant resistance. In the ensuing chaos, Jonah's rebellious spirit flared, and he managed to escape the clutches of both Reina and The Catalyst. Haunted by his past actions and consumed by guilt, Jonah yearned to break free from the suffocating grasp of the Fog Whisperers. Realizing the true extent of the horrors he had been forced to commit, he sought redemption and liberation from the darkness that had consumed him. Driven by his desire to defy his captors and find a way to sever the chains that bound him, Jonah delved deeper into the mysteries of the fog and the entities that resided within. It was during one such exploration that he stumbled upon a long-forgotten ritual, a desperate gambit to merge with the very essence of the fog and break free from the clutches of the cult that had ensnared him. With a mixture of trepidation and determination, Jonah embraced the ritual, willingly subjecting himself to its transformative powers. As the ethereal fog engulfed him, his body and soul merged with its essence, forever binding him to its enigmatic realm. Emerging from the haze, Jonah Harper, now fully transformed into The Reaper, embraced his newfound identity as a merciless entity of the fog. No longer a pawn of the Fog Whisperers, he vowed to wield his powers against those who sought to exploit the fog's mysteries for nefarious purposes. As The Reaper, Jonah embodied both defiance and retribution, a symbol of resistance against the machinations of the cult and a harbinger of doom for those who dared to cross his path within the fog's domain.

While reloading you are slowed to 3 meters per second. Reload takes 6 seconds. You can only shoot 6 times before your item becomes useless. Reload cannot be canceled.
Perks:
Lone Rider: The wilderness has taught Tom the importance of self-reliance. With Lone Rider, his aura is revealed when he is within 32/16/8 meters of any survivor, allowing him to keep a watchful eye on those around him. When he finds himself alone, his determination kicks in, granting him a 15% boost to all actions, ensuring he can swiftly accomplish his objectives. "Out here, it's every man for himself. Keep your distance, and maybe you'll survive another day." - Tom Hartridge
Quick Draw: Tom's reflexes are honed to perfection, allowing him to act with lightning speed. With Quick Draw, he gains an impressive 15/30/60% increase in the speed at which he drops pallets and slams doors. His swift and decisive actions catch his pursuers off guard, creating opportunities for him to outmaneuver and escape their clutches. "When you're as quick as lightning, nobody can catch up." - Tom Hartridge
Reckless Hunt: Tom's recklessness becomes his greatest weapon. When not engaged in a chase for 15/30/60 seconds, Reckless Hunt reveals his aura to the Hunter, taunting them with his audacity. The constant presence of Tom's aura disrupts the Hunter's senses, inflicting them with Blindness and Unnerving, making it harder for them to track and apprehend him. Once the chase begins, Tom's cunning and agility come into play, evading the Hunter's clutches as he leads them on a wild and unpredictable pursuit. Blindness makes all auras not be read. Unnerving removes the ability to see blood pools and hear grunts of pain
Lore:
Tom Hartridge was a notorious cowboy known for his selfish and cunning nature. Born in the Wild West during the late 1800s, Tom grew up with a silver tongue and a relentless drive to fulfill his desires, no matter the cost. He was a master of manipulation, using his charm and wit to bend others to his will. As Tom's reputation spread, tales of his selfish exploits reached the ears of the Fog Whisperers, a mysterious cult that worshiped the fog itself. Intrigued by Tom's unyielding pursuit of personal gain, they saw him as a valuable asset to their cause. One fateful day, Tom found himself lured into the depths of a desolate forest, where he encountered the Fog Whisperers for the first time. They presented him with an ultimatum: join their ranks and become a hunter, or face the wrath of the fog. Tom, driven by his insatiable desire for power and riches, reluctantly agreed to their demands, thinking he could use his newfound abilities to further his own ambitions. However, the Fog Whisperers had other plans for Tom. They bound him to the fog, a cruel twist of fate that stripped away his free will and transformed him into one of the Hunted. The fog consumed his essence, merging with his soul and forever binding him to its dark and treacherous realm. Now trapped within the fog, Tom's selfish nature persists, though tempered by a sense of desperation. He seeks to manipulate the situation to his advantage, using his cunning and survival instincts to outwit both the Hunter and his fellow survivors. Unbeknownst to Tom, the fog has its own plans for him, pushing him to confront his self-centered ways and confront the consequences of his actions. As Tom embarks on his journey through the fog, he is driven by a singular purpose: to escape this twisted realm and regain his freedom, no matter the sacrifices he must make or the lives he must betray along the way. His path is one of self-interest, where survival and personal gain reign supreme in his relentless pursuit of escape.

2023.06.10 07:13 TheRealDingdork Experiences with getting doctors to do a stent?
I am a new diagnosis and I was just stented. For me my stenosis was found before my pressure was tested. It was found by a neurosurgeon in NYC looking into the possibility of craniocervical instability causing my issues and he saw the stenosis and immediately referred me to a interventional radiologist who does these stents regularly. I had a venogram to make sure it'd work and here I am a month later, and a week after being stented and feeling better than I have for as long as I can remember.
I know this might not fix everything but I feel so much better already and my parents say I look visibly less miserable and am noticably more active and alert.
I understand all cases are different but I've been reading up on some of the posts here and I've seen people talking about doctors not doing a stent preferring instead to do long term medications or weight loss. My situation we didn't even really discuss that. We talked about weight loss if I needed a shunt as my stenosis was severe and on both sides and as a post stent thing I'm going to do my best to do. But it was an additional "hey this may help your symptoms and will reduce complication risk if we have to shunt". I took a very low dose of topamax from a different Neuro but that was before the stenosis was diagnosed.
The only way they weren't going to do a stent was if when they tested the pressure during the venogram there was none or a non-significant pressure change on either side of the stenosis. Then the stent wouldn't help and therefore there would be no point in putting it in. If it was gonna help they were gonna do it.
I guess I want to hear what your experience with doctors and stents are. I know I was very lucky to be put in the hands of people who head some of the research of this stenosis. It could be location, I know the doctors closer to where I live were too nervous to put me through an unnecessary lumbar punctar so it took a very long time to figure out what was wrong with me.
I DO NOT think my stent decision was in any way rushed or misinformed. I didn't have headaches much but I was nauseous and dizzy and out of school. I was aware of the other treatments but as the stent was going to happen either way we weren't going to talk about them till after.
What was your experience with stenting procedures? Did you have to wait and prove other methods ineffective? Or was it like me and as soon as the stenosis was found they went to stenting? Why do you think the difference is? Which do you think is the smartest way to go about it? Trying other things first? Or stenting if it's gonna help?

2023.06.10 07:09 icare- I just Met A VETERAN with NEEDS
Hi, I met an elderly veteran earlier on the bus today who lives on the Upper West Side in NYC. His wheelchair padding is ripped. He is an XXL and needs clothes. His clothes have holes and I said I would attempt to find him clothes. Charities in NYC not helpful. He had a lot to say about the lack of legitimate resources. Medical doctors not helpful for numerous visible skin issues. Luckily he gets comp vet care for his large ESA. Any suggestions on medical facilities, places or people that can drop off clothing for him, are greatly appreciated, sigh!

2023.06.10 07:08 natman2939 Some Things DBFZ Should Learn From Street Fighter 6
Disclaimer: Kinda long but I
BOLDED the main points and saved the best for last so if you read nothing else, read the last two
BOLDED things. Thanks
Right off the bat I want to say this isn't about Gameplay at all. They're two very different games and that's fine. I like it that way. Heck I actually much prefer DBFZ's gameplay but it's nice to have a chance of pace.
Also don't worry about bias because DBFZ is my favorite fighter of all time so if anything it would be the other way around (even though the original Street Fighter 2 is what introduced me to fighting games, but that was a lifetime ago and really has nothing to do with the suggestions i'll make)
Instead what I can't stop seeing in SF6 is all the non-gameplay stuff, that makes the overall experience so much better. I've noticed myself say the words "God, I wish this was in DBFZ" so many times that I finally just had to sit down and write this thread.
So let's get the obvious stuff out of the way
- Rollback -- the netcode is amazing. DBFZ is a game where you probably won't want to play with someone if they're West Coast and you're East Coast, but SF6 you can have good games with people from entirely different continents.
- Cross-Platform --speaking of Rollback, even when DBFZ finally gets it, it won't be coming to PS4 or Xbox One, meaning PS4 players won't even be able to play with PS5 players, let alone with PC players or Xbox X/S players. But SF6 has full Cross Platform, PS4 players like myself can play with PC players, Xbox players, and our PS5 brothers
In fairness to Arcsys maybe netcode stuff is extremely technical. I mean it certainly has taken them a long time to get Roll Back finished, so much so that even after announcing it a year ago, the Beta still hasn't happened.
But what about some simple quality of life stuff that wouldn't be that hard to put in the game? I genuinely believe they could do most of this stuff in less than a week:
- You can queue up for both Ranked and Casual matches at the same time.
I mean holy shit this seems so obvious in hindsight but why do we have to pick JUST ONE?!?!? Obviously you can still have the option to pick one but why JUST one??? SF6 let's us check the boxes and you can choose one, the other, or BOTH!
And..... you can still look around the lobby for private matches and stuff so imagine potentially entering Ring Lobbies, or even looking for Arena matches while still searching for Ranked and Casual matches.
This way you not only have more options but you're more likely to find a match and whichever one finds you a match first is the one you go to! Super Simple.
- You can offer to run another set with your opponent
Now this one is kinda the same as hitting rematch technically but it feels more like you're doing a whole new set thanks to how SF6 has multiple rounds per "Game"
5
. You can offer to run (Ring Matches) with someone after you've played them in matchmaking with just one click of a button If you want to continue playing with the opponent after you've run ranked/casual matches with them, there's an option right there where "rematch and quit" normally are to invite them to a private room (essentially like starting a ring lobby with them)
No need to message them and ask if they want to run Ring Matches. No need to tell them what Lobby you're in and all that mess, it'll put you in a "Ring" (private room) automatically
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I saved the best for last.
- You can put people on a Block List
Think of it like the way the "Marker List" works except instead of just getting a red warning and manually deciding if you want to play them again, You CANNOT be matched up with them ever again (unless you remove them from the block list)
This means if people are:
-Laggy
-Toxic
-Smurfs
or even
-Annoying
You don't have to deal with them ever again. Not having this feature only benefits those people.
A little side story while I'm on the topic of how useless The Marker List is: There's this son of a bitch named SupremePapi that i've actually made like two youtube videos about. Instead of just smurfing like a normal smurf, he turns on matchmaking, puts his controller down, and just goes AFK for HOURS. So that he can lose, rank down, and then beat up on weaker players. From his replays i've seen he'll lose over 50-70 times in a row and then suddenly win 50 to 70 in a row. It's MADNESS.
He's the only person I have on both my Follow and Marker list so that I always know that it's him. Now you might be thinking "So? Just beat him and move on" but I don't want to artificially rank up so I don't want free wins. "Okay so just decline him then?"
Ah but that's the problem.... because his connection is so good and he's always available to play... he will show up NONSTOP. I've showcased this in my videos on him (on Natman2939) that as soon as I decline the match up with him, he'll just pop up again, I decline again, he pops up again. I once started counting and I declined him over 15 times in 1 minute.
DBFZ doesn't give a shit that he's on my marker list (and no having him on follow doesn't effect it cause I tried that) they just expect me to keep declining him over and over.
This means I have no choice but to just get off for a few hours because I'll spend the next hour declining him HUNDREDS of times in a row.
If this were Street Fighter 6....I could just Block him ONCE....and he would be gone forever. If he made a new account and smurfed. Block that account. The end.
And he's just the worst example but obviously there's so many toxic/laggy/smurfs or otherwise people I just don't want to play that might be one of the few people on at my rank and I just have to keep declining.
A Block List ends that problem completely.
---------------------------------------------------------------
But my absolute favorite thing that SF6 does that DBFZ doesn't. The *chef's kiss* of SF6
- It actually has severe punishments for Rage Quitting (and shitty internet)
I know what you're going to say "but I love Rage Quitters! They make me laugh!" me too. They really do. Heck if you saw my last youtube video (or many of my youtube videos including entire RQ compilations) I actually do get quite a bit of joy from them and am constantly celebrating and laughing when they do it.
But.... that doesn't make rage quitting cool, and doesn't mean they shouldn't be punished. I would laugh that much harder and celebrate that much more if they were.
Because frankly watching someone get to a rank they have no business being at because they RQ so much is just gross. Especially knowing there's virtually no consequences in DBFZ (except some very rare temp bans that you have to RQ like 50 times in a small period of time to get)
But here's what SF6 does....
If someone disconnects 5 times in a certain period of time they get a "yellow card" which is basically like a warning that they disconnect a lot.
But here's the funny thing..... THEY CAN ONLY PLAY WITH OTHER YELLOW CARD PLAYERS!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Now you might be thinking "but Natman, I disconnect a lot because my internet is bad!" well buddy....you're hurting other people's experiences with that bullshit whether it's your fault or not so get it fixed or get your yellow card and go play with the others like you.
Now Capcom is super fair of course, allowing people to come back the regular player pool BUT.....only if they complete a certain number of games without disconnecting.
So RQ'ers and wifi warriors are in shambles.
But wait there's more!
If you continue to disconnect even while having a yellow card, you get a red card. This means you can only play your fellow red card players and you have to go like 20 matches in a row without an issue to lose it.
AND.....I hear the wait times for yellow and red are way way way worse than normal people, so enjoy your waiting simulator while the rest of us get to play the game without having to suffer your bullshit.
As if that wasn't more than enough, if you continue the bullshit even with a red card, you will get temporary bans.
Now I couldn't begin to count the amount of threads discussing rage quitters and horribly laggy wifi types that there have been in DBFZ. Can anyone (other than them.....) imagine how amazing it would be if this were in DBFZ?!?!?!?
Not only could you block them straight up, but if you chose not to, they'd be removed from the pools anyway. Because instead of a purple "match completion" warning that serves no purpose other than another reason for me to have to manually decline a match, instead their equivalent of the match completion warning, forces them to only fight others with the same warning, and then get straight up banned for 3 days or a week if they keep it up.
It's glorious.
All of these things combined make the online experience so much better in SF6 and would help DBFZ immensely.
I could also go into other things like training mode doing much better training set ups (like "anti air practice") or showing your exact plus/minus frames over your character's head... but obviously this is long enough for now.
So anyway, I'm in my 3rd year of playing DBFZ and I love the game but these are just a few ways it could be much much better. Maybe.... arcsys will take notes for future games.

2023.06.10 06:56 jackanus moving to nyc, leaving my car. am I insane?
Hello!
I'll be moving to NYC for grad school (performance/composition degree) in the fall, and I think I'm going to leave my car (SUV). While I could conceivably get street parking somewhat-kind-of near my apartment, most people I've talked to have said it's more trouble than it's worth (alternating sides every week, monetary costs, etc.).
I have also heard from bassist friends up there that it's doable to ride the subway with a bass. Also, I'll (thankfully) have a locker on campus where I'll leave my good bass, and I'll be able to keep my beateoutside-gig-bass at home. So I'll just commute with an instrument for gigs; it's not gonna be an everyday thing (though hopefully, the gigs do become somewhat frequent, lol).
I kinda just can't wrap my head around walking around to subway stops and riding the train being the way I move around with this thing. But I've also heard people do it, and *many* people have told me not to bring a car. Would love to hear the thoughts of any bassists who've lived/spent time in the city!
Also, I'm thinking about a better solution to weatherproofing my bass if/when I need to move around in rain/snow. Not something I have to deal with currently, so all I have is a soft case, and I'm worried about the resilience of that/if it will protect the instrument from the more extreme weather conditions of NYC compared to my current climate (DFW area).
Sorry for the novel, lmao. Much 2 think about. Appreciate y'all's thoughts!

However, Asuka and Statlander countered with their impressive agility and technical prowess, turning the tide in their favor. Liv Morgan displayed her resilience and quickness, evading the attacks of Alba Faye and delivering lightning-fast strikes. Indi Hartwell, on the other hand, used her strength to overpower Jacy Jane and keep the opposition on their toes. In the end, it was the cohesive teamwork and resilience of Asuka, Kris Statlander, Liv Morgan, and Indi Hartwell that proved superior. They capitalized on a moment of opportunity, delivering a devastating combination of moves to secure the victory. From the opening bell, both competitors showcased their athleticism and aggression, determined to emerge victorious. LA Knight utilized his technical prowess and power to gain the upper hand, grounding Waller with a series of punishing holds and strikes. However, Waller refused to back down, countering with his hard-hitting moves and resilience. As the match progressed, the pendulum of momentum swung back and forth, with near falls and close calls keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats. The competitive spirit between Knight and Waller intensified, escalating the physicality of the match. In a pivotal moment, LA Knight capitalized on an opening, delivering a devastating signature move that left Waller stunned and unable to kick out. The referee's hand hit the mat for the three-count, signaling the victory for LA Knight. Winner: LA Knight by Pinfall (4.5 Stars) https://preview.redd.it/48whly2yb45b1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=8a81396f24cb3436410ee43253c2cdfdddbae8c0 Match 5 - Bianca Belair vs Jaime Hayter As the match unfolded, Belair unleashed an array of powerful strikes and impressive acrobatics, leaving Hayter reeling. The intensity escalated as the near falls and close calls kept the audience on the edge of their seats. In the final moments, Belair dug deep and summoned her incredible strength, hoisting Hayter onto her shoulders and delivering her signature K.O.D. (Kiss of Death) maneuver. The impact was enough to secure the three-count, sealing the victory for Bianca Belair. Winner: Bianca Belair by Pinfall (4 Stars) https://preview.redd.it/i14w7ajyb45b1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=bff7acb8ec047e3588d965fb97336319c63c88fb Post-Match Segment [Bianca celebrates her hard-fought victory, raising her arms in triumph. However, her moment of glory is short-lived as the arena suddenly goes dark. The crowd's anticipation fills the air as they wonder what's about to unfold.] [A spotlight illuminates the entrance ramp, revealing Britt Baker, DMD, with a sinister smile on her face, wielding two kendo sticks.] Britt Baker: Oh, Bianca, you may have won this battle, but the war is far from over! [Britt Baker charges towards the ring, swinging the kendo sticks with brutal force, catching Bianca off guard. The blows rain down on Bianca's back, leaving visible welts and causing her to wince in pain.] Britt Baker: This is what happens when you try to step into my spotlight, Bianca! I am the rightful queen of this division, and I won't let anyone steal that from me! [As the crowd watches in shock, Britt Baker continues her assault, showing no mercy. Each strike echoes through the arena, heightening the tension. Finally, as Bianca collapses to the mat, Britt Baker stands tall, a sadistic grin on her face, with the kendo sticks raised in victory.] Britt Baker: This is the fate that awaits anyone foolish enough to challenge me, Bianca. Remember, I am the face of this division, and no one, not even you, can dethrone me! [Medical personnel rush to the ring to tend to Bianca's injuries as Britt Baker revels in her triumph, taunting the fallen Bianca and cementing her status as a ruthless force to be reckoned with.] [The segment ends with the image of Britt Baker standing tall, the ring littered with broken kendo sticks, and Bianca Belair left battered and broken, a clear message sent to anyone who dares to challenge the dominant reign of "The Role Model."] Match 6 - Blake Bailey, Adam Cole, Randy Orton & Malakai Black vs Bandido, Sami Zayn, Tyler Bate, & Ace Keeg As the bell rang to signal the start of the highly anticipated eight-man tag team match, tensions were already running high among the competitors. The teams of Blake Bailey, Adam Cole, Randy Orton & Malakai Black on one side, and Bandido, Sami Zayn, Tyler Bate, & Ace Keeg on the other, were set to clash in an explosive encounter. From the opening moments, it was clear that the animosity between the competitors was too great to be contained. Tempers flared and frustrations boiled over as the action escalated. It started with a heated exchange between Bandido and Orton, which quickly turned into a full-blown brawl. The chaos spread like wildfire, infecting every corner of the ring. Teammates found themselves at odds with each other as the fierce competitiveness took over. Cole and Zayn locked eyes, their long-standing rivalry reigniting with a vengeance. Meanwhile, Bailey and Bate exchanged stiff strikes, each determined to prove their dominance. Even the usually composed Black couldn't resist getting caught up in the whirlwind of chaos. He found himself exchanging blows with Keeg, neither willing to back down. The ringside area erupted with a chorus of boos and cheers as the competitors unleashed their frustrations on one another. Referees and officials desperately tried to restore order, but their efforts seemed futile as the brawl spilled to the outside. With no clear winner in sight and the match spiraling into utter chaos, the bell rang once again, signifying a no-contest. The officials, realizing the situation had become uncontrollable, decided to intervene and separate the warring factions. The crowd, though disappointed by the lack of a definitive outcome, couldn't deny the sheer intensity and unpredictability of the encounter. It was a brutal reminder that sometimes, rivalries and personal grudges can overpower even the strongest bonds of teamwork. As the dust settled and the competitors were forcibly separated, the message was clear: the animosity among these athletes ran deep. Whether it be for championships or personal pride, they were willing to go to any lengths to settle their scores. https://preview.redd.it/oy0h8eazb45b1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=51456701dfe642b25f9a9df3be5773e31bb2cdcb Recap Matches: - Match 1: Ricky Starks def. 2023.06.10 06:19 VEDDIEPOOL RDR2
I’m a 21 year old lady that’s been obsessing over Red Dead Redemption 2 for a short while, absolutely love role playing as Arthur, Charles, or even John! Also open to playing side characters as well as they show up in the story.
Looking for mostly a CANON X CANON roleplay as I do not have any OC’s to double with, however I’m not entirely against doing an CANON X OC story. Totally fine with MXM pairings as long as they make sense (if they’re canon.)
I write in a third person style, writing usually 3-5+ paragraphs per response (depending on content given, situations. I understand going below as long as it is not a one sentence response) would love to discuss a plot beforehand before diving into it and figuring out an organic story between our characters, whether canon or not. I’m a sucker for angst as well, so playing out some deaths I’m not against!
Must be 18+ as the Wild West has some wacky themes and I’m not comfortable roleplaying with minors. I don’t have many triggers either, but please let me know yours before we get started. RDR2 has a lot of heavy themes that I understand not everyone is open to having in their role plays.
If this sounds like something you’re interested in either comment below or hmu in messages!

2023.06.10 06:03 Makalajala HELOC is a bad idea, right?
Divorced 10 years ago, child/spousal support was financially devastating, and the ex kept the house (I signed a quit-claim and stayed on the mortgage; clearly a terrible decision, but she was unable to refinance).
She failed to make payments, keeping my credit score pegged in the low 600s (sometimes lower). She recently paid off the unpaid balance on the mortgage (close to 100k, despite the fact that she has reported making $15k per year for the last 4 years), and I can now finally start rebuilding without that $100k in debt and her missed payments hurting my credit.
Thanks to my family helping with a down payment, my current wife and I were able to purchase a home based on her income only (approx 40k/yr). Over the past 10 years I've accrued $19k in high-interest credit card debt (average 25%). We bought well (a fixer upper, on which I've done a ton of work), financed at 2.85%, and have close to six figures in equity. I have stable employment and recently picked up a side job that will bring in about $1500 extra per month. I'll also be picking up close to $800/month from the child support relief.
I'd like to take out a HELOC to wipe out the credit card debt. Assuming the rate would be 8-10%, I'd be saving over 50% on interest. I'd use all of my side income and the child support 'gains' to attack the debt and get it paid off in under 2 years. My wife is risk averse when it comes to the house, and doesn't love the idea, but is willing to do it because she sees how stressful the debt is to me.
2 questions:
1) Is it a terrible idea?
2) I hate dealing with banks in their branches (find the experience gross). Is there a decent, trustworthy option to get a HELOC online? Is 8-10% a reasonable guess on rate?
Thanks in advance!

2023.06.10 05:58 throw_a-day_away Let's have an honest conversation about critical thinking with skeptics
There have been a lot of posts today from people annoyed with the skeptics. I figure I would add my 2 cents and hopefully this post can start a fruitful conversation. First off I want to say that I am just as annoyed as you about the people that jump on any half-baked story and preach that its true without any thought put into it. It's does a disservice to the community. If all you're asking for is a little more skepticism, this isn't geared towards you.
This is geared towards those that irrevocably deny that anything weird is or has ever happened. Those that believe every UFO/UAP sighting has a rational explanation, regardless of any official government stance. The people that think Occam's razor always holds true, and like to point to guys like Mick West and Michael Shermer as reputable figures. It is hard to write this in a way that doesn't appear like an attack, but this is my impression of you. Hopefully through conversation, I can see your perspective a little clearer.
To me it seems like you are missing a key component of critical thinking: the need to observe all sides of an argument objectively and thoroughly, questioning your own beliefs in the process. Yes, even when you think your beliefs are based on reality and congruent with your life experiences. Dismissing something instantly and applying a Bayesian principle simply does not work when we are discussing cases which are statistical anomalies. This dismissal is nothing but arrogant and ironically, makes you seem naive.
Physicists and astronomers will tell you we know maybe 5-10% of the matter in the universe (similarly, biologists will let you know that we have explored around 20% of the ocean). The bottom line is that we don't know the limits of science and interstellar travel. So while we may believe that certain technologies are impossible given what we know, the truth is, we don't know a lot.
The notion that there could not be a conspiracy is also laughable. Historically, we know the US has held clandestine programs that are well documented and to an extent, declassified. This is all verifiable, public information. So if historically cover ups have happened, why is it so unlikely that they may continue to happen?
Ultimately know one knows the answers, but being more open minded to the possibilities should be more embraced. Rigidity doesn't lead to expanding our cumulative base of knowledge, but creative exploration certainly will.

2023.06.10 05:54 Theeaglestrikes I bought a disturbing Choose-Your-Own-Adventure ripoff called “Journey to the Lake”, and the events are unfolding in real life.
Since my wife died last year, I’ve been travelling across the UK in a decked-out van with my son, Sam. We’ve been heading up to Inverness, his mother’s favourite place, in the hope of scattering her ashes. It’s no surprise, then, that I’m a lover of adventures, is it?
Journey to the Lake Choose Your End I picked it up from a charity store yesterday. A hardback novel with a tattered paper cover. Whilst some knock-offs are a little cringe-worthy, I was intrigued by this one. Minuscule white writing on an all-black cover. The stark, sinister minimalism of the art really gripped me.
Plus, I have fond memories of the “Choose Your Own Adventure” books from Sam’s childhood. But “Journey to the Lake” seemed a little more mature than the stories I remembered.
Choose Your End The title alone seemed bleak, but I didn’t know the half of it.
“You reach a crossroads… Uh oh,” Sam said, chuckling as he read the book aloud.
“What?” I asked, smiling.
“Time to make our first decision,” He replied.
“Leave this to me,” I said, cracking my neck decisively.
Sam groaned. “Dad, no. You always made the worst decisions with these books back in the day.”
“I know,” I said. “Mum was always the smart one. I was the beauty, and she was the brains.”
Sam shook his head, before clearing his throat and leaning into the light above the van’s front dashboard. He read with the giddiness of a child. Of course, even at the age of 19, he’s still a child to me.
“Pick the safest path to the lake,” Sam read. “Take the road to Yellow Town. Page 11. Or take the road to Brickrock. Page 43.”
“Yellow Town!” I exuberantly requested.
Sam, being a people-pleasing saint, rolled his eyes and obliged. He flicked through the pages of the dusty, unbranded book and settled on Page 11.
To summarise, the road took our character to Yellow Town, a seemingly-serene place with a sinister history. It was haunted by the Seafarer, a stranger who was hanged for slaughtering seven townsfolk. And his ghost, donning a black raincoat, stalked the protagonist.
“Oh, so it’s
that kind of story,” I said, smiling.
“I thought we would be going on a fantastical adventure with dragons and fairies,” Sam gulped.
“Maybe the Seafarer has a magical boat?” I suggested, smirking.
“Okay… I’m gonna stop there. I’m tired,” Sam said.
“Or scared?” I teased. “Well, if you want to stop reading so early, I might as well carry on driving to Carlisle. You okay with that? We could treat ourselves to a hotel, rather than kipping in the van.”
Sam shrugged. “Sure. Just wake me in a couple of hours.”
But I woke him far earlier than that. You see, we never made it to Carlisle.
“Welcome to Joune...?” I whispered, squinting to read the road sign for a town I hadn’t seen on the GPS.
The sign might’ve said something else, but it was dark, and one of the letters had faded.
I was more concerned with the neat rows of structures that rushed towards us on either side of the road. Quaint cottages, shops, and other quintessential British buildings — but they were all various shades of yellow. Like the town in the book. A strange coincidence.
But then, in one of the house’s upper windows, I briefly saw something which glued the flesh of my hands to the steering wheel.
A man in a black raincoat. Watching.
Journey to the Lake was on my brain, so it had to be confirmation bias. That was what I told myself.
Sam laughed when I woke him and explained the situation. He said the tables had turned — suddenly, I was the scaredy-pants. I thought he might be right.
“Room for two?” Asked the hotel receptionist at a little B&B in the middle of the town.
“Yes, please,” I said. “Two singles, mind.”
Sam rolled his eyes — his favourite response to my humorous quips. The receptionist merely nodded and handed over a key.
“Room 11. The end,” She said.
“Beg your pardon?” I asked in a hoarse whisper, suddenly perturbed by the receptionist’s uneven tone of voice.
“The end of the corridor,” She clarified, offering a false smile. “You can’t miss it.”
Sam and I practically sleep-walked to our room in the early hours of the morning, but I was overcome by a strange sense of alertness when I plopped onto my bed. I wish I hadn’t remedied that with the following idea.
“I’m gonna read a little more,” I said, pulling the book out of my backpack.
Sam groaned. “Why did you bring that in here?”
I found myself unable to crack one of my usual jokes. “I just have to know what happens next.”
Weary from your travels, you graciously accept the keys from the innkeeper. “Room 11. The end,” She says. How? How could the book have known? Heart gripped by the terrifying and inexplicable sensation of suddenly being watched, I stopped reading.
“Ha, ha,” Sam sarcastically grumbled. “I’m going to sleep.”
“Read it for yourself,” I shuddered, hurling the book at him.
My son sat up and read the page for himself. “Is this one of your jokes? First, the yellow buildings. Now, a scripted conversation?”
“You were there in the shop with me. I found the book. I didn’t write it,” I said. “I think we need to go.”
A booming sound echoed along the hotel corridor, and goosebumps bubbled across my icy flesh. I’d never been so frightened in my life, but I summoned the bravery to stumble over to the door.
“You hear a thunderous creak in the hallway,” Sam read. “Gazing through the peephole, you see…”
I didn’t need my son to finish the sentence — yet again, the book had predetermined my actions. And through the peephole of the hotel door, I saw something horrifying.
The man in the black raincoat stood in the hallway, one eye peering into the peephole from the other side — as if he could see me. He was warped by the curvature of the glass into a horrifically large, malformed man. Or maybe those were his true dimensions. And there was no accounting for his lifeless, sagging skin. That was surely no trickery of the glass.
I screamed, stumbling backwards from the door.
“Head into the hallway. Page 59. Exit through the window. Page 115. Dad, what is this?” Sam quivered, seemingly understanding, at long last, that I was not playing a cruel joke.
“Page 115, right?” I asked, turning and running over to the window.
Sam nodded, leaping to his feet and frantically flipping through the pages as I pulled the curtains open. Fortunately, we were on the ground floor, and the window opened wide enough for us to slip out.
Sam went first, taking our bags with him, but I struggled to squeeze my slightly larger form through the window.
“Dad!” Sam screeched.
And in the reflection of the glass pane, I saw him. Standing behind me.
The Seafarer.
The door hadn’t opened. I don’t know how he entered the room. I don’t know how any of it happened.
One of his cold hands clamped onto my shoulder, squeezing tightly enough to drain the very life out of my being — his touch filled me with a haunting hollowness that I cannot put into words. An eternal hell that must’ve only lasted a moment in reality.
Terrified, I wrenched my body free of the inhuman man’s grasp, and I slithered out of the window after my son.
We sprinted to the van and made a hasty getaway, grateful to have chosen the right path this time. Or so we thought. As I drove the way we came, something unexplainable happened.
We found ourselves back in Yellow Town.
No matter which way we drove, the road always led back to Yellow Town. And that’s when the horrifying gravity of events soon dawned on both of us. We were trapped.
We
are trapped.
Only the book can determine our fate. We’re too frightened to go back to an earlier point in the book and change things, given that we don’t know how this unholy scripture works — all we know is that this isn’t a story. Every consequence is real.
Our next choice is as follows:
You take the off-road route through the forest. But which road will bring you to the lake in time? Route 15 — Page 152 Route 11 — Page 191 I have no idea which route to take, but I trust Sam’s judgement more than my own. I hope to update all of you soon.
If you never see a post from me again, then I guess we’ve chosen the wrong path.
