Hi there! I'm looking to find a friend, either near or far that's keen to build a long-term mutual effort connection with each other!
I’d describe myself as friendly, open & compassionate, I also carry the qualities of being honest and straightforward in a easy going sense which in the typical way us Aussies are renowned for!
I keep active with going to the gym, running, cycling, occasionally swimming laps and in the warmer months snorkeling. I also enjoy being creative with drawing cars, practicing songs on the guitar & heading out and about to participate in photography.
When I need to wind down I enjoy listening to music (mostly alternative pop/rock/folk/electric), on occasions after all that exercise with recovering in the spa or sauna. Not much of a couch potato but sometimes I don't mind abit of TV shows (usually comedy/drama/docos) finally for those gamers out there I also play abit on Playstation.
Thanks for reading and if I've piqued your interest fell free to send me a chat message, I'll genuinely appreciate it :)

2023.06.10 04:48 Weary_Wanderer19 My brother is a moron

Me(20m) and my younger brother(16) aren’t very close at all. I rarely ever talk to him or interact much nowadays unless we are on vacation when he follows me around like a shadow. For a long time when we where younger I was your typical shitty big brother who was more of a bully than anything else. I eventually realized what I was doing wasn’t right but with a now destroyed relationship I didn’t really know how to fix it other than just being supportive when I could. I feel like the relationship is better now but he is the stereotypical gamer kid who never wants to leave the house and has less than stellar hygiene. While he is very book smart he is completely ignorant on basic practical knowledge or skills. My family is on vacation and for the past week he has repeatedly done things like ask questions about things he was literally just told, completely ignore context in conversations, and talk excessively about anything. I try telling him things like if he stopped talking so much and just listen then he wouldn’t be so confused all the time, but he doesn’t listen. He’s very irritating to be around sometimes, and I don’t understand his logic or thinking about anything.
The most confusing thing is he’s not stupid, like I said before he’s book smart. His grades in school are much higher than mine ever were but he just seems to lack any common sense. He’s capable of learning things quickly because I taught him how to play some simple songs on guitar and he picked it up in less than 20 minutes. He’s perfectly capable but he’s just a moron. Anyway there’s my rant about my brother, just needed to get it out, goodnight.

ASUS ROG MATRIX RTX 4090 & MEGALODON RTX 4070 Concept Announcement [Computex Recap] - Official Q&A
Hi everyone! I'm back again with some news from Computex and a quick update :D

First off, we have a couple new product announcements from Computex. Most of you have likely seen these already, but they're the ROG MATRIX RTX 4090 and MEGALODON RTX 4070 Concept. No pricing or ETA info quite yet for the MATRIX and TBD on if/when something like the MEGALODON transitions from concept to actual product.

For the ROG MATRIX RTX 4090, the standout things to mention are the use of liquid metal coupled with the 360mm AIO and the styling. The card is approximately 280mm long in current design and 2.5 slot though you'll want to allow for additional room for tube routing. Styling wise, you'll have a more RGB lighting on the side and "front" and no RGB "Republic of Gamers" text. I know this was mentioned by some in prior posts.

I've included the last generation of ROG MATRIX series as a comparison for those who'd like to comment on the changes between the two.
ROG MATRIX 2080 Ti
ROG Matrix 2080 Ti

For the MEGALODON RTX 4070 Concept, it continues our development towards cable-less or hidden cable designs. We've showcased some similar stuff in the past on the motherboard side and this extends it to the graphics card, as well. The power connector is similar in design to a PCIe slot versus the typical 8pin or 12VHPWR connectors.

Motherboard concept with rear power connectors to facilitate the cable-less design

I'm also including the Atlas Shark RTX 4070 which shares a very similar design to the MEGALODON concept but utilizes standard 8pin power connector. Currently likely to be China only, possibly SEA.

ATLAS SHARK RTX 4070

Also, as a minor recap, just as with the RTX 4070 series, RTX 4060 Ti has DUAL, DUAL White, TUF, and STRIX models. Sizes are a little smaller, with the DUAL being 227.2 x 123.24 x 49.6 mm and the current smallest.
DUAL RTX 4060 Ti Black
DUAL RTX 4060 Ti White
TUF GAMING RTX 4060 Ti
ROG STRIX RTX 4060 Ti

Also, additional information regarding the TUF GAMING RTX 4090 OG. It'll be priced at $1799.99 USD. No ETA yet for availability.

So, what do you all think of products like the MATRIX and MEGALODON? Would love to see your feedback! And answer any questions I happen to have answers to.

Statistically speaking, I know you have to be out there somewhere. Trouble is, I highly doubt you're looking for me. Maybe because you don't believe that I exist. Maybe because it's just too much effort, and you think the apps are lame or physically painful to slog through. Which, you know, is fair. But maybe one day you'll get bored and scroll through here on a whim... and maybe, just maybe, you'll realize that I'm talking to you. This is not a post directed at most people. I wish everyone all the best in finding whatever it is they're looking for on here -- a life partner, love (however fleeting), companionship, distraction. But I'm not posting here for those things. I'm posting on the off chance that you see this. So if all of the following resonates with you, message me.

Hiii my name is Tim! I’m 23 and from New Hampshire. Preferably I’m looking for somebody In the northeast! Just because super long distance is hard for me. I like having In person time. Physically touch is a big part of affection for me and it’s hard to do over the internet :p
Anywho, I’m a gamer but I’m not necessarily looking for you to be one. Yes it would be cool to play games together but I also know that sometimes it’s good to have different interests. I don’t think ones necessarily better than the other lol so if you are a gamer, great! Im sure we will have lots of fun! And if not, then just respect that it’s what I like to do please!
As I mentioned before I like physical touch. It’s my primary love language with words of affirmation being a secondary. Tell me what yours are!
I like being cuddly and cutesy and silly. I know some people find it gross but I think there’s nothing wrong with showing your affection.
Politically I’m left leaning, and I don’t typically get along with far right leaning people. Just so you know.
Physically I’m 6’1 with brown hair and blue eyes. I’m chubby and wear glasses. I’m not the most self confident but I’d say I’m kind of cute on a good day.
I live with my parents and we have 9 dogs at the moment. It’s just as chaotic as it sounds! Lol.
So yeah I think I’ll leave it there. I hope to hear from you!!

2023.06.09 20:34 Professional-Nerd25 25 [M4F] [Relationship] UK/Europe - Big Cuddly Nerd Looking for the One!

Hello there!
So I've been single for over 4 years now and honestly I'm missing having someone to cuddle up with when it's cold out, and to share all the snacks with during cosy nights in (I'm eating two people's worth of snacks right now and it's seriously not good for me!). Normal dating apps suck, and I've met some cool people here before, so let's try this again!
I know appearance is important to a lot of people so I'll start by saying I'm not the greatest looking person in the world. I'm happy to share some terrible selfies once we've been chatting for a bit, but here's a quick summary to start with. I'm white, I've got short brown hair, and blue/greyish eyes. I am fat (not just a bit chubby), but I am also 6'4 so that's gotta be a good thing right? I'm also pretty strong, so combine that with all the extra padding and I can guarantee the best hugs and cuddles you've ever had! Plus, wanna see what life's like up here? Come and sit on my shoulders and enjoy the view! Even if you're on the heavier side yourself, I'm willing to bet I could get you up there 💪
I work as a Senior AV technician at a university down here. It's pretty fun, I get to play with all sorts of technology and I really enjoy my job, even if it does get a bit stressful at times with all the big projects we're doing.
Unfortunately with covid and the current economic situation and the general state of the world I can't afford to move out and I'm still living at home, but I'm making the most of not having to pay a mortgage and rent and everything at the moment by saving up for a new car and planning on doing some travelling later in the year. My first plan is a trip to Svalbard and I'd totally love someone to come and join me!
Outside of work I'm pretty much the typical gamesci-fi/fantasy nerd! I built a gaming PC a couple of years ago and I'll give pretty much any game a go. I'm not really into competitive type games since I'm not very good at them (I can't carry you ingame but I totally will in real life 😛), but survival and adventure stuff is always fun. I'm also into strategy games and all the usual fun multiplayer stuff. I also got back into Warhammer 40K a couple of years ago but that has kind of slowed down now since I kind of overwhelmed myself with models and burnt out on the painting a little bit...
Film and TV wise I mostly like Sci-Fi and Fantasy stuff, Star Wars, Marvel, LOTR, and Dr Who are some of my favourites. I do also like a good horror film, or a good documentary, usually on some obscure paranormal weird thing. If anyone fancies doing any ghost hunting or exploring I'll happily come and see what happens!
So what kind of person am I looking for? Well;
Preferably someone in the UK (especially down in the South East), I can drive so basically anywhere in the country is fairly easy to get to.
I don't mind if you're from abroad, but please be from an English speaking country (US/Canada/Australia/etc), or willing to relocate to the UK someday as I've tried learning other languages in the past and it's definitely not happening.
Physically I don't really have a "type". Anything from normal up to thicc with 5 c's is fine by me, the only real preference is that you're not super skinny since I don't wanna be worried about breaking you 😂 I'm totally not bothered by height, even if somehow you're taller than me!
Overall I'm just looking for someone kind, caring, and non-judgemental who actually wants to talk to and spend time with me as much as I want to talk to and spend time with them.
If you've made it this far and like the sound of me, congratulations! Come and message me for a cookie!

2023.06.09 19:52 AnimeWasA_Mistake What makes a good Jagen?

Hello fellow gamers. Today, I'd like to talk with y'all about Jagens. Based off of the character Jagen from the original game, Jagens are typically the first promoted unit you get, with higher stats compared to your other units. That's basically the only thing that is consistent through every Jagen, although there are broadly 2 patterns that the Jagen falls into: Fall off in quality hard as the game continues, or continue to stay at the very least fairly competent throughout the entire game. The second group is sometimes referred to as Oifeys, based on the genealogy character who fits into the second description better than any previous iteration of the archetype. Higher growths are sometimes considered an important distinction between an Oifey and a Jagen, but I think that this is a mistake. Some Jagens with normal growths very clearly fall off (Frederick and Sothe are clear examples of this) while some Jagens with bad growths barely fall off at all (Dagdar and young Marcus both have bad growths but are pretty endgame viable). I do find this distinction useful, so I'll be referring to the subcategory of Jagens which don't fall off as Oifeys.

Now that we've defined terms, let's get to the question at hand: What makes a Jagen a "good Jagen"? There are two ways to interpret this: which Jagens are superior to others in terms of gameplay, and how to best design a Jagen. I aim to answer both of these questions.

Which Jagens are the best gameplaywise?

If you were to ask this question to random people here, the most common answer would likely be Oifeys. Assuming they are going off of the definition I provided rather than just Jagen with good growths (which unfortunately is probably more common than my definition), it's certainly a tempting simplification. The best Jagens (Seth and young Marcus) are Oifeys, and the worst Jagens (FE3 Jagen, Gunther, Vander, etc.) fall off. However, it is a simplification. While the best Jagens are Oifeys, many of the second tier of Jagens do fall off. Frederick and old Marcus both fall off, but they're both vital for the early games in ways that some Oifeys never are. The titular Oifey is a great example here: He doesn't fall off, but he's also never important in the ways that many Jagens that do fall off are. Titania and Dagdar are better than Oifey, but they also fall into this category. Looking at what I believe the top 4 Jagens are (Seth, Marcus x2, Frederick), finding what they have in common compared to other jagens makes it clear what the best Jagens have that the others don't have: Long periods of being the dominant force in your army. After those 4 it gets more complicated (Titania arguably fits the description given for the top 4 but she has other issues that make me hesitant on putting her in the group) but I believe that having those long periods of power is what separates the best Jagens from the rest of the pack.

Which Jagens are the best designed?

This question is much more complicated than the previous one. While the answer to first question isn't exactly objective, this question makes it look like a math problem. There are a lot of factors to consider, not to mention different tastes giving different results. That's why I find it so frustrating that the most common answer is so simple: they fall off. There is a grain of truth here: having characters who are super dominant like Seth and young Marcus are absolutely not healthy for the games they're in. However! There are 2 issues with this line of thought. First: there are plenty design issues that Jagens can run into. Second: this is NOT a unique problem for Jagens that don't fall off. For example: Old Marcus! I swear he is considered the go to "good Jagen" that other Jagens should aspire to be designed like, and there are some fundamental issues surrounding him. The most important of which is this: Your starting squad in FE6 is garbage. They can barely do anything outside of fighting soldiers without Marcus stepping in. This makes Marcus way too important in the early game: you need him to solve most issues because your other units can't do anything. This is a problem, not just because it makes for less interesting gameplay early game, but if Marcus starts having issues fighting enemies, the game will go to shit, as it does in Ch. 4, my least favorite map in the entire franchise. So why do people go to him as the ideal Jagen? I can't say for certain, but I believe the reason is this: some people have a checklist for what a Jagen is, and he checks the most boxes. This is a mistake: This is not an observation of how well designed the Jagen is. Rather, it's calculating how much the Jagen fits within your pre-conceived notion of what a Jagen should be. This is why Vander gets a shocking amount of praise as a Jagen, when the fact that it's basically consequence free to bench him by Ch. 7 should indicate there is an issue with how he's designed, especially in a modern game like engage, where all units should be able to be deployed until endgame without the number of issues Vander has.

So we've gone over what a well designed Jagen isn't and one way in which Jagens can have design issues (being powerful to the detriment of strategic gameplay). Let's talk about some other design issues that Jagens can face. The first issue I wan't to talk about is the Jagen not actually being that strong early on. This just defeats the purpose of the archetype: having your strong early unit that falls off be similar in strength to your other units early on just calls into question why they even exist in the first place rather than just having another regular unit. Examples of this are Jagen in FE3B1, Rev!Gunther, and Vander. Another issue that the archetype can have is being outclassed too early. You'll eventually want to provide units that have similar strength to the Jagen, or have your growth units catch up to them. However, providing them too much competition that's on par with or better than them too quickly calls into question the point of even having the Jagen archetype in the first place, much like the previous issue. Examples of this include Arran, Oifey, Titania, and Sothe. Finally, sticking too close to previous convention when it doesn't fit the game. For example, Sothe falls off hard in Radiant Dawn, partially because of his class, and partially because he can't promote until after the desert. It wasn't necessary for Sothe to fall off the way he does in Radiant Dawn, it would make more sense for him to promote at the beginning of part 4, and since he's forced into the endgame it would make more sense for him to have better caps. But since he's a thief and Jagen, convention dictated that he would have these issues, to the detriment of the gameplay. Vander is another good example: In modern fire emblem games with a focus on character building and supports, it doesn't really make sense to have a unit that goes against both of these systems like Vander does. His stats are so bad that you can't build him into anything interesting, and despite showing up constantly in the story and having supports with 3 of the last 4 characters to be recruited, he isn't designed so that you can use him late in the game without really going out of your way.

There are a few Jagens that I haven't mentioned yet in this section. These are the Jagens that I would consider to be good Jagens (or too weird to be worth mentioning). Going over them should allow us to consider what factors make for a well designed Jagen.

First up is Jagen, in FE1 and its remake FE11. I believe the original Jagen is a pretty good take on the archetype. He has better bulk than his contemporaries, and while like Marcus he's good at setting up kills, unlike FE6 the cast of FE1 can actually face enemies. Hardin outclasses him in a lot of ways upon recruitment, and he does eventually fall off, but he has the benefit of being one of your only 10 mov units for a lot of the game, and the Levin and Silver sword can help keep him relevant even as you get later into the game. In FE11, Jagen is one of the most important units in the earlygame, with his bulk and extra firepower being critical in the earlygame. His high weapon ranks let him become a strong ridersbane user, and he has unique access to the reclass system, which gives him flexibility in how you use him (This is more interesting with Arran, who has access to all classes upon recruitment, but as mentioned he gets outclassed very quickly). He does still fall off by the later part of the game, but not by as much as you may initially think with his growths. For more gameplay focused Fire Emblems such as these two, I think the Jagen falling off is perfectly reasonable, so these two falling off isn't a problem for me.

Next is Dagdar, from Thracia 776, or FE5. He's an interesting unit because he's endgame ready at base, but since you get so many strong units from early on like Finn and Orsin, he doesn't stand out as much as a combat powerhouse. His personal skill Accost is both a strength and a weakness. It allows him to capture enemies much easier, which combined with his high con makes him one of the best units at interacting with the capture system. On the other hand, the fact that enemies don't need speed to double him means that his bulk can actually be somewhat suspect. This combination makes him a fun and powerful unit, but one that doesn't feel too broken.
Finally we have Frederick, from Fire Emblem Awakening. I listed him alongside Marcus and Seth as a very dominant unit. The difference between Frederick and the other top tier Jagens is that to me he enables interesting gameplay, rather than stifles it. Part of the reason for that is that unlike the GBA games (and a lot of other Fire Emblem games), there's not really any super good units that you can wait for. While Young Marcus has the pre-promote brigade, Old Marcus has characters like Rutger Zealot and Miledy that can take over, and Seth can bring in Gerik Cormag and Duessel as easy support, Frederick has nothing like that. Anna and Libra are good for sure, but you really want to train some earlygame units for combat, preventing him from just steamrolling the earlygame. Earlygame Awakening on lunatic is pretty alright for your other units, with the enemies being pretty strong but frail, and he doesn't just trivialize this portion of the game. Choosing which pair up to use with him leads to interesting decisions, where different combinations having benefits and drawbacks that need to be considered. He's a very satisfying unit to use as well: he can easily put enemy axe hit rates into the 20s with the right planning, and he gets enough exp that despite growing slower than your other units, he doesn't feel as bad to grow as someone like Marcus is. And you're rewarded for using him long term as well: He'll be able to reclass into other promoted classes and give really good pair-up bonuses, he'll gain access to Dual Guard which makes him a better pair-up bot, and he'll pass down good stats to a kid. In my opinion he is a very well designed unit, being powerful enough to be the center of your army, but not to the point of being overpowered or uninteresting.

All of these units are well designed for the game they're in. But I don't think that these units would fit as well into any context. In engage for example, I don't think any of these Jagen designs would work: it's growth based, it's build based, and ideally every character should be reasonably viable for endgame. The question then becomes: can there be a well designed Jagen for a game like Engage? This is a question that I already know the answer too: yes. There is already a Jagenesque character in a game with similar properties to Engage that I think is very well designed: Camilla. Camilla is in my mind the ideal Jagen for the modern era of Fire Emblem. Camilla may not join immediately in Conquest, but she is still the first (real) promoted unit that you get, and barely gets any exp on her join time. There are a few things that I want in a Jagen that Camilla fulfills. She sets up kills for other units easily, not just because she can't double with a steel or hand axe, but her personal, along with her dual strikes, makes many units capable of killing enemies that they otherwise wouldn't be able to. She's able to pull a lot of weight: no surprise there, she is easily your strongest unit from when you get her until Xander, and even then she has strengths that Xander doesn't have. She's also got limitations, the most obvious of which being that she flies, giving her a clear weakness for the designers to exploit that you have to work around. She can't solo Ch. 10 of Conquest (or at least it's very hard) because of the fact that it's a defend map, and while that's the map that limits her in the most obvious way, there are methods in other maps designed to prevent her from steamrolling. And she has what to me is the most important factor in a game like Conquest, which is that she has interesting long-term use. Her stats scale well into the lategame, and like most Conquest units she has interesting builds she can use. I find she's not quite as dominant in the lategame, but she's still very good, which is what I want from a unit like her in the first place. Now for Engage this template would have to be tweaked a bit but I believe that Camilla is the ideal model for designing modern Fire Emblem Jagens.

So, what do you think? Are there any factors that you think are worth mentioning that I didn't cover? Do you think I'm wrong? Do you think I have bad taste? Please let me know what you think.

2023.06.09 15:05 JulienHellmig A little Hope.

Hey there!
I'm not here to ask a question or to pour my heart out.
I'm not a muscular or skinny guy or someone who fits in the Gay Stereotype.
I don't like sports, CSD's, Partys and anything a typical gay likes.
I am a Gamer, Introvert who had a lot of traumatic experience with other guys.
They didn't tell me, but I knew they were just using me. Nobody really texted me on Dating-Apps, took a look at my Profile or even considered texting me. I always made the first move. My Face isn't cute, I'm quite chubby and my skin is bad even with a good skincare routine.
So to anyone out there who does not feel like fitting in, get rejected a lot or get's ignored by the hot boy/girl he/she likes:
It gets better. The more grown up people get, the more they realize what they do/did.
I found a wonderful hot Husband who really loves me.
Please stay strong and don't ever give up or change just because someone tells you to!
