A remarkable seventh success in the Hungarian capital this evening would be just reward for a fine turnaround under Jose Luis Mendilibar, who has steadied the ship brilliantly after Jorge Sampaoli’s disastrous reign had left the Andalusians in danger of relegation from LaLiga.

Should Roma succeed, the 60-year-old would also set a new record having won UEFA's second-tier competition with three different clubs having also done so with Manchester United and FC Porto. Sevilla, though, are pretty much owners of this competition having won it six times which is already a record and victory here would mean that seven of the last 18 titles have gone to the Andalusian club. Jose Luis Mendilibar has done an excellent job in salvaging Sevilla's season but this is his first European final and Los Nervionenses have never lost a final that they have featured in. Roma are the more likely to return to Europe next season if they were to lose here, but Sevilla are not guaranteed to do so while the Giallorossi would only be in the Europa Conference League. Both sides need to win this final if they want to play top European soccer next campaign or even any continental soccer at all in the Spaniards' case.

2023.05.31 19:09 alexanderb35 Read between the lines. Part 1: drug laws. Part 2: interacting with police. Summary
Mtl law book
Controlled drugs and substances act, cdsa. Substances on this list are controlled substances. Schedules are categories substances fall into
If lose case can be deported
If you possess over the legal limit of pot can be imprisoned post 2018 still. 2018 is when pot was legalized.
There are provincial and federal laws
The police arrest but the crown charges. Crown can charge for a different crime then police arrested for.
If you are being prosecuted then there are charges against you in a criminal file
The crown and police have a lot discretionary power with your treatment and your file. Crown is like prosecutor, not police.
Director of penal and criminal prosecutions, DPCP, prosecutor provincial boss, instruct and provide guidance for prosecutors. Other provinces have their own name.
Jury or judge acquit which means your innocent. Prosecutor can also withdraw charges "withdrawn" status.
Sentence are possible consequences of being guilty
Priors are prior criminal record
Law enforcement officer: immigration officers, police, youth protection agents, municipal inspectors, correctional officers etc.
Black, indigenous, racialized and migrant communities, people who are known to the police, are targeted more by police, meaning police also violate their human rights more often. Sentenced more harshly than whites. Drug laws are historically created to target these groups.
Systematic bias: those with authority, even incl teachers, have explicit or implicit bias against certain communities
Racial profiling: officers target certain groups of ppl and postal codes more.
Anti gang squad, anti gun squad, anti radicalization are dog whistles for targetting minorities. Also includes applying additional surv eillance to target group.
During say a anti gun police raids, they can prosecute the raided for any illegal drugs the cops find. This results in potential criminals fearing to call the police bc if there is an investigation the police could nail the caller. If a sex worker has HIV and does not disclose their HIV status it counts as sexual assault, meaning if a John beats her up, risky to call the cops on him.
If have PR status and found guilty could be deported/removal. Some drug addicts only are PRs.
Anytime you speak to police you are making a statement. Crown can use these statements to convince someone else to plead guilty or convict. Your silence cannot incriminate but your statement might.
Police allowed to lie. Will do anything really to get a statement. Don't react to any of their behaviours, comments, or questions since that can be a statement. Try to remain silent. But many ppl do not have the privilege of remaining quiet, ex that can worsen police behavior.
Rehearse how to speak to police without providing any incriminating statements if you think you want to make a statement.
Police cannot arrest you if they don't identity at least 1 offence. On arrest they give undertaking paper or hold you until court date.
After released by police, prosecutor might decide not to prosecute. If police are holding you after arrest your 1st court date happens after 1-3 days. Sentencing may be postponed until therapy/school/work etc is complete.
1st court case is usually 1-3 days after arrest, then bail applies for the 2nd court date in like months/yrs. When released after arrest can be released without conditions.
If plead guilty with lawyer, lawyer can negotiate to have certain charges withdrawn
Cannabis act covers cannabis.
You can be acquitted of 1 charge while charged with the others
Willing blindness: you are supposed to inquire about the nature of a delivery you are driving if the package seems suspicious.
4(1) Possession, "Simple possession": to prosecute evidence needed: knowledge/willful blindness that substance in your possession and knowledge/willful blindness that it is a controlled substance named in the cdsa and measure of control/consent to their possession Law requires measurable quantity of drug, ex residue in a bag If there are drugs in your car and you are the driver or passenger, it cannot be the only reason for a conviction. Possession - drugs don't have to be on you. Willful blindness - you ought to have know you have the drugs in your possession Knowledge of your possession is proven by it's location (hidden or in sight), whether police have statements by you or others. Schedule 4 substances and lower cannot be found guilty of simple possession, but can be found guilty of other offences like trafficking
Double doctoring/ 4(2) obtaining a practitioner: asked dr for prescription or drugs without disclosing that info about the drug that u received in the last 30 days. Both for personal usage and for dealing. Uncommon charge.
5(1) Drug trafficking, trafficking in substance: proof must prove that you did 1 of the following or that you offered to do one of the following: - Selling drug or prescription: incl if the sale is not completed. - helping or encouraging someone to buy/sell. Bringing the buyer to the seller and if without this help the sale would never have taken place. Introducing a potential buyer to a seller is sometimes prosecutable depending on the judge. It sounds like it might only be an offense if accused works for the dealer and arranges the meeting between buyer and seller, but not clear. - giving drugs for free or for "free" is still trafficking - cannot administer illegal drugs even if asked too - if transporting home for personal consumption only, simple possession. But if or the purposes of sharing with friend, roommate then trafficking. Exceptions: inside safe injection site for drug checking purposes. Buying doesn't seem to be trafficking. Selling a prescription (the paper) is trafficking - Max sentence is life
5(2) Possession for the purposes of trafficking: simple possession + purpose/intent of trafficking. Large quantity helpful to prosecutor but not required. Presence of measuring, packaging equipment, multiple bagged quantities, large amounts of cash, notebooks can be evidence. - Max sentence is life
Drug trafficking: sale, gift, administrating drug, transport of drug.
Case study: Nat brought cdsa drug to share with client at motel. Client overdoses and Nat has to call 911. Police show up too. She admits to cops that she bought the drugs and that he asked for them so the cops know it was his idea. She is convicted of trafficking.
6(1) Import (or export) and 6(2) possession for the purpose of import (or export): all must be proven: Bought drugs/organized their entry into Canada Knowledge/willful blindness/recklessness that controlled substance Intention to import the substance Bring drugs or organize their entry into the country: happens as soon as drug enters/leaves any country and continues until drug arrives at final destination in Canada in a person's possession. If in transit through mtl and Toronto offence has take place in both locations. You don't have to have been personally transporting the drugs or even present at the place of entry to be charged. If police intercept the drugs in transit, irrelevant to defense. Crown doesnt have to prove you know the precise nature of the drug. Recklessness: ex accused caught with 2 bottles of wine that contain dissolved cocaine, since the cocaine amount was large, the producer prob wouldn't give this bottle to a blind courier. Behaviour following importation may provide convincing evidence of participation in offence: meeting with ppl, receiving calls of short duration at late hours, coded language by accused+accomplices, using public telephones to talk to "accomplices" despite owning a cell. After drug arrives to final destination, other ppl cannot be prosecuted for "possession for purposes of import" Police are specifically looking for fake suitcases on flights being carried by women 30s-40s
7(1) Production of substance, 7.1(1) possession, sale, etc for use in production or trafficking: production - manufacturing, harvesting, growing, etc. Offence includes offering to produce drug Evidence must prove you have some control over location/operation of production: cannot be convicted for simply being in a place of production. Police usually do detailed surveillance against accused first. Warrants for interception of private communication, track/trace (surveillance device on car), garbage searches, search warrants Police usually find out when purchase of large or suspicious purchases that are commonly used in drug production.
If police are at your house for a DV investigation and they see a baggie of what looks like heroin, can result in arrest.
Possession means: you have it on your personal possession, you know a friend is holding it for you, you know that you have hidden it somewhere. If your friend is holding a cdsa drug for you and they know it's cdsa drug, then you both are in possession. If the cops raid your grandma's house and you stores cdsa drugs there, she will not be convicted.
Knowledge of the drug: you just have to know it's a controlled substance, not what it is specifically to be convicted.
Judges sentence more harshly depending on drug type. Ex if there are current anti meth events or media, worse sentence.
Possession of methadone/opioid agonist treatments (OAT): - Health care providers don't need permission to prescribe, administer, sell/provide methadone to patients. Patients need a ordeprescription. To own methadone must be a patient or health care provider basically.
Initial meeting with a judge after arrest is a bail hearing.
To get bail: - better odds if minor crime - have $ via bail or signing a "recognizance" that says you'll pay bail. Get both back later on. A "surety" (friend) can pay for you. - fixed address that isn't a homeless shelter - ties to the community - family, legal job, studies, community engagement - proof of how will support self legally - having a friend reserve you a spot in rehab - indigenous
Conditions can prevent you from owning a cell phone.
Causing death by criminal negligence and manslaughter for giving drugs to someone who overdosed. rare. Can be convicted if you and a friend are shooting up together and you shoot them up at their request and then they die. Accidentally bringing a drug that contains fentanyl and your friend dies. Harsher punishment if accused is much older than decreased or if deceased is not much of a drug user.
Crown can withdraw some charges but keep others.
A guilty plea only may help improve sentencing. If pleading guilty better to do it before the trial.
Didn't type up schedule 1-7 drugs pg 38, 39 Schedule 1: opioids, meth, Adderall, ghb, methadone, MDMA Schedule 2: synthetic cannabinoids, most cannabis is regulated by the cannabis act now. 3: shrooms, lsd 4: zolpidem, steroids, benzodiazepines 5: not in the book if it exists 6: ingredients to manufacture drugs 9: manufacturing equipment ex machines to fill pills
Selling other medications like idk ibuprofen could be a civil matter where the gov might issue a large fine against you and failure to pay the fine results in conviction.
Sentencing - court determines punishment, ex prison, fines
If your lawyer and prosecutor agree on a specific sentence during a guilty plea, judge will most likely accept that, but judge doesn't have to.
Types of sentences: un/conditional discharge, fine, suspended sentence with probation and conditions (ex community service, rehab) imprisonment in institution or in community.
Being guilty can have other effects like travel ban to USA.
Sentencing considers: type and context of offence, circumstances of arrest, criminal record/priors, first charge for this kind of offence, current situation, level of detail and assurances in rehab plan, are there victims, prosecuted as summary or indictable offense. Unofficially judge considers bias like being anti-sex worker.
Prosecuted for either indictable offense or summary offense. sometimes the law decides which, sometimes prosecutor does. Determines max sentence and severity judge will serve.
Indictable offense - more serious. Some crimes are always indictable. Summary - less serious
Aggravating factors - reasons court gives harsher sentence: - Not having a drug addiction at the time of offence - priors - commited offence for financial gain - breach of trust - etc
Mitigating factors - reasons court gives better sentence: - guilty plea - been in drug rehab if had drug addiction at the time of the crime (get letters from case workers) - age - remorse - community involvement - etc
Mandatory minimum sentences, Mms.
Since 2012 Mms higher and a bunch of drugs moved up in schedule
Gladue report: - optional for accused. - affects all parts of court - prepared by some org - for anyone who identifies as indigenous
Impact of race and culture assessment IRCA: - A few provinces have this - gladue for black ppl - judge can legally ignore it - exists bc black ppl have faced a lot of adversity
Stimga = negative stereotypes
Ppl who use drug usually get worse treatment from justice system.
If you participate in a treatment program pre sentencing, it can reduce your sentence oand delay legal proceedings. Court needs to recognize its value and legitimacy. Court can also force you to attend a program of their choosing which can be like prison-lite. You can propose your plan to the court.
Special tribunals in mtrl regulate the provincial court treatment programs.
Many sex workers gain access to new resources and opportunities which can allow them change their condition and protect themselves. Anti sex worker laws deny them of this and their agency.
Drug addicts and sex workers are constantly stimgatized especially if they do sex work and use drugs.
Sex workers: Try to represent as a victim for a reduced sentence: - apologize and show remorse about your sex work - talk about how you're a victim of sex work - allow the court to paint your sex work as all the problems in your life - make no claim about the useful of sex work in your life - be poor, get exploited by clients/pimps - when the court tells you to stop talking to other sex workers, drug users, clients, do it.
If you are between 12-17 YO: - youth criminal justice act or director of youth protection applies to you, 1 or the other, you can sorta pick - "very serious" crimes you're prosecuted as an adult, so public criminal record - if an adult works with you on a crime it worsen the adults sentence
Police can charge you for possession of a weapon of they find a scissors or pocket knife
If police find you with a gun, they can easily give you 3 yrs. Weapons bans are 10 yrs.
Immigrants: - try to get either type of discharge (conditional or unconditional), that's the same as not guilty in immigration law. - refugees without Canadian citizenship can be deported - if you don't have PR, a hybrid offense or 2 summary offenses can get you deported - PR: receive a 6 month sentence or guilty of a crime that has max sentence of 10 yrs. - with an expired visa, cops database doesn't have that kind of info, but they could call Canadian Border Safety Agency (CBSA)
worse charges for drug trafficking if offence happens near school or other place frequented by minors, or on correctional facility grounds, or in a gang, setting traps, using someone else's building, creating hazards in a residential neighborhood
Indictable offence usually don't have fines associated with them.
Cannabis act (CA) - distribution and trafficking are the same thing - having on possession for sale is illegal - public place: public has assess too and any vehicle located in public view - generally refers to dried cannabis, usually 30g or equivalent
Illicit cannabis is illegally obtained cannabis. It doesn't have the gov stamp of approval
Some ppl give a fake name to cops bc risk of being identified is worse than the risk of obstruction. If you give police a fake address, they might mail court papers to that address and you won't be able to receive them. If you give the cops a fake name and need to retract it, try to say it's a "nickname but my legal name is x"
Recording cops: - legal for you to record cops unless property owner has rules against it, recording actually does interfer with the investigation - police may tell you that it's illegal. Might charge with obstruction, or say you're breaking like privacy, take your recording device, demand you erase recording, say they're seizing your phone bc it contains evidence - if police seize your phone, they could find incriminating evidence to charge you or someone else with another crime
Frisking: - cops can legally if u are arrested. Only supposed to if they thinking you have a dangerous item on you and are a threat to someone's safety. If you get upset this increases the odds they'll search you. If they are searching you for weapons not supposed to search you for other things like drugs, phones, tattoos etc. They can use this to search for needles to identify you as a drug user - searching you for evidence of the crime they say you committed - if you're temporarily detained/being questioned same thing - if you give them permission to search you or your property, they will. To prevent this say loudly "I do not consent to the search" and "je ne consens pas a une fouille" (jeh neh koh sehn pah ah oon foo yeh) - if an illegal search results in say drug charges, the drug charges could be withdrawn - if unlawful arrest (ex police brutality) then the subsequent search might be illegal
Seizures: - can seize items in a warrant. Ask to see and read the warrant. - if the warrant is to search a location, must have that address, specific area they can search, and list items theyre searching for - ask cops for a copy of the report identifying the seized items and where the items are being held Can seize items without warrant if they think it's related to a crime, ex: - weapons that may have been used in the offense, Items that provide evidence like phones, scales, note books, items obtained through criminal offenses like money from drug selling, They can seize items before any arrests While you're detained they will frequently go through your phone Note down: everything they seize, when, whom, where you were at the time. Careful about "obstructing" police while you do this, record officer name, patrol car number, badge number and other identitying info, knowing seizing location helpful for trying to get your things back, if an item is evidence you won't get it back til the end of the case, if it's considered proceeds of a crime you'll likely never get it back, illegal things you will never get back
While detained, you can try asking a guard or lawyer if you can use your phone to get phone numbers, usually they'll say no. Guards will be able to read your phone while this happens. Memorize the numbers of potential sureties.
Don't have incriminating evidence about yourself or your associates
Drug use equipment: - can legally distribute unused drug equipment - if you have drugs on you, having sterile drug equipment can be used as additional evidence against you - may still be seized by security - If you're hanging out with a drug users and you're searched and they find sterile needles, they may then search your companion
Being detained: - physical detention is like being cuffed - psychological - they tell you you're not free to leave/act like you can't leave - can detain for: you're connected to a crime, being a witness, victim, breaking a bylaws, warrant however discretionary power means they might not for a warrant, being present at a raid - technically don't have to identify yourself, but police will likely arrest you for obstruction - police have to tell you why
Being stopped and questioned: - just bc you are in the area a crime took place, doesn't mean they can stop and question you legally unless you match suspect description. They will anyway if they want
Warrants apply country wide
Arrested: - cops must tell you what you're being arrested for - they'll let you go with an "appearance notice" that may include conditions - you'll receive a "summons" in the mail is really an appearance notice - keep you in detention for a few days until a judge sees you - If you have kids, get a criminal lawyer and family law lawyer - if you're an immigrant criminal lawyer and immigration lawyeexpert - arrest warrant: must have name of person to arrested
You can negotiate conditions, like if banned from an area but have dr appointments there. Lawyer can do this.
If cops question you or tell you to go with them: - ask "am I free to leave? Am I being detained or arrested" if unclear ask again, if still unclear make motions to leave and leave if they don't stop you - if detained: "what am I being detained for?" - if arrested: "what am I being arrested for?" -- you have the right to ask and to speak to a lawyer - technically illegal for them to detain you due to trying to bring you to a shelter or rehab etc
Police legally have to wear badge number and name tag and have to identify themselves if you ask them to
After abusive police interaction, note down: - when, where event happened - held anywhere? Conditions of where you were held? Location? - officer names, numbers, car numbers - what was searched? When, where, how did it happen? - who was searched? How and where were they searched? Name and badge number of cop. - Dmges? take pics - who was detained? We're they offered an interpreter of needed? Do they speak the same language as the officer? - give all the info to lawyer
If cop grabs you and you pull away they might try to charge you with assault of an officer
Prep for dealing with police: - anyone in my party break a law? Any warrants? Youth protection involved with anyone? - if we're stopped by police, are we all staying silent, all giving the same info? Other plan? - are cops targetting me, the neighborhood? - if cops targetting someone else, can I walk away? - is my hangout area heavily surveilled? Is my party heavily surveilled? - if I have id, does it reflect the name I'm gonna tell the cops? What happens if an officer shows up who knows me? - how to respond to cops if my kids are with me? - condition breach? - am I carrying anything arrestable? Plan if they search me? - are all my incriminating items hidden from plain view? - what police consequences is most harmful to me? What am I most concerned about? What am I willing to do to avoid these? - can I role play with someone?
Good Samaritan overdose act (Good Sam law): - If someone is overdosing and you call 911, police legally aren't supposed to arrest you or anyone else there, incl overdosee for simple possession or simple possession condition breaches - everything else they can arrest you for. And they are known to use the opportunity to extract arrests Consider: throwing away/hiding your illegal drugs, tell others there you called 911 so they can leave, tell dispatch that area is safe so maybe police won't come, should I leave and get someone else to stay or leave a note on the overdosees,
Security guards, transit officers, etc: - no legal requirement to speak with them - they can citizens arrest you physically legally if they see you doing it - cannot legally search you - can legally use reasonable force to remove you from a building - Montreal public transit security can become special constables easily and can detain and arrest ppl suspected of criminal activity on mtl transit. Can access police database. - All public transit security can fine and issues tickets related to their public transit. You're required to provide them name, address, dob
Driving a vehicle: - if you are driving, police have more authority, like asking for ID, breathalyze - police can stop vehicles bc: see a driving violation, believe the vehicle is related or a crime, routine police blockade for like drunk drivers passing - often use license plates to determine if the car was stolen or a getaway vehicle or whatnot - police pulling over ppl in high crime areas for no other reason is illegal - important to not have knife, drug residue on plain view - if you're too shaky, pink eyes, they know lol in the car as drug dealers, they're more likely to find you suspicious - after arresting driver, they can legally search your vehicle if it's related to why they arrested you, ex they arrest you for drugs and then they can then search the vehicle for more drugs - more likely to search your vehicle if you're wearing a bulletproof vest - can search the vehicle legally for "safety", they see you have weapons charges and then they search the vehicle or if they have reason to fear for imminent evidence loss, fear imminent threat to someone's safety - legally easier for police to search your car then pat you down. - police can only legally ask driver for ID unless they turn the stop into an investigation in which case they can then ask everyone in the vehicle for ID - sleeping in your vehicle: take keys out of ignition, sleep in the back. Police may still harrass you and say it's in relation to criminal charges
Investigations: - begin for any reason, even via anonymous tip line calls - often police with surveill and if they see suspicious activity, they get a warrant
Residential location: - greatest privacy from police here legally, however: if owner unknown, abandon, frequented by marginalized ppl, police more likely to invade - when can they enter your house: generally police cannot enter without a warrant unless the person who answers the door consents, if they think someone inside is about to commit a crime or that a crime is in progress, in hot pursuit and the runner enters the house, if they think someone inside's life is in danger - if you don't consent to them entering say: I do NOT consent to you entering, je ne consens pas a ce que vous rentrez (jeh neh Kon sen pah ah seh voo rehn-tray) - can get warrants to enter for unpaid tickets, money owed to revenue Quebec - police search your home when: someone being arrested there and police think something is a danger to other potential occupants, police fear imminent lose of evidence, medical emergencies (Medicare card, suicide notes) - if they see something suspicious (drugs, scales, large sums of cash) in plain view (from your door, or anything they see if you allow them to enter. Even if you let them in, they're not supposed to search your house or roam to other rooms) they can seize it. - an arrest warrant isn't enough to search a place
Hotel/motel: for your room, generally same rules as residential, but a bit less privacy - for public areas, no privacy benefits - if cops get keys from hotel staff or permission from hotel staff they'll use that to enter your room - often will say the housekeeping staff saw something suspicious
House keepers: - if they see drugs, lots of condoms, paraphernalia, sex work publications or drug publications they may contact police. There is an increasing trend for this happening under the guise of human trafficking prevention esp if you're a marginalized/racialized women who uses drugs. - they are allowed to enter your room
Hospital: - usually won't provide the cops with much info unless they have a warrant for a patient. Sometimes even will not let cops into your hospital room - will contact law enforcement. Usually have low threshold to attempt to kick out ppl as it relates to arguments, raised voices, disruptions - if you are with a patient, hospital more likely to provide info on you to cops, so careful what info you give cops - as a patient u may have to change clothes and that could lead to dropping suspicious items out of your pocket - if you go to the hospital with a friend, tell them to stfu about providing info about you - bringing a friend can help by taking notes, advocating for you. Ideally your friend isn't know to the cops, can stay calm.
Supervised injection site, SIS: - inside cannot be charged with simple possession. Cannot give to others or administer to others. - staff cannot be charged with trafficking for providing the venue or material facilitating the drug usage. Same with staff checking drugs, which would normally be trafficking - police can do whatever outside of the building. If arrested for simple possession, could tell lawyer you were on your way to the sis/on your way back home - if you are investigated in relation to a sis, make sure your lawyer speaks with the sis bc your lawyer prob doesn't know the basics of the sis. - to use a sis, usually don't need to provide real name or info. If you give your real info, easier for medical staff at hospital to look you up if needed
Speaking to police: - if arrested cops suppose to stop asking you questions once you request to speak to a lawyer, but they will often still ask you questions anyway. After you speak to a lawyer they have the right to question you again - they will attempt to provoke you into speaking - interrogator will ask random questions to build rapport (ex personal life, interests). Will often promise or claim to help you if you talk to them - legally can lie about most things. Ex evidence, other ppl's statements, "if you leave now we can't help you later", "if you cooperate now you will get a more lenient sentence". - don't react to their questions
Initial appearance in from of a judge before bail hearing: - you appear before a judge within a day. If it's a weekend or holiday then after that. Have a lawyer come with you. This is when you plea guilty or not guilty - can try to exchange 1 release condition for another, discuss this with your lawyer beforehand - if you receive a fine, some organizations can you get a payment plan. Community service can also be used to pay off a fine.
Bail hearing - you can schedule the meeting with a judge at a later date to give you more time to prepare for how to make bail - usually happens within 3 days - prepare in advance how to get released on bail - Prosecutor will often argue you shouldn't be released bc: you won't attend your next court date, you pose a risk to the public, public will lose faith or you're released. - your lawyer will likely argue: you have a fixed address (can be friends, family), will obey your bail conditions - sometimes to make bail you need: bail money/recognizance document saying you'll pay latesurety. Surety should have legal job and no criminal record. Show that you have routine, like school, clubs, job, family. Can have someone who ideally does not have a record come testify to your character. Proof of income. Someone to book you a spot in rehab. - if the court takes your passport, photocopy the important pages
Cdsa and cannabis act are frderal criminal laws, but are often prosecuted by provincial/municipal forces
Law reform/Stella: The term decriminalization is getting more widely used and the meaning is recinding. Stella says decriminalization of drugs and sex work is a necessary first step to guarantee human rights. Drug use is not always an illness or problem. Abstinence is not the only way and thinking it's the only way is harmful. Drug sellers should be be categorized as bad ppl. If 1 law is repealed cops will often just target a sigmatized group with a new law. Alternative punishment instead of prison is still not decriminalization, aka Portugal model. For things like cannabis, even tho self possession of an amount is legal, you still can face police surveillance, unwanted police contact, trouble with landlord, etc. Individual prosecution directors, police departments can set guidelines, but those are not related to laws. Guidelines can say more or less punishment.

2023.05.31 19:08 f_myself SM 25% match days delayed?
| Got this message from SM that earnings from 25% match days (including from last week) may be delayed because of the US holiday this past Monday. I'm not sure why they couldn't have prepared for this? Memorial Day is a major bank holiday every year and obviously affected why they scheduled the contest week in such a way. Luckily I'm still set on my bills due tomorrow, but what if I was depending on that bonus after such slow traffic?? submitted by f_myself to CamGirlProblems [link] [comments] |
2023.05.31 18:56 Savings-Thing-734 TrueForm Trainer Treadmill - Disappointing experience
I purchased the treadmill back in Q2 of 2022 after months of research and deliberation. I wanted something quiet and low maintenance to run medium distance (2-5 miles at most), and TrueForm seemed like the ideal choice at first: all the reviews seemed fairly positive, everything seemed shiny and well-built so I took the plunge. I received the treadmill somewhere in November of 2022. Fast forward to 7-8 months later, and I have had more than 3 separate run ins with a rep for issues that should've been resolved prior to delivery, considering I had to wait almost a month because of "quality checks" on top of 3 months of wait prior.
Within the first month of use, the belt started oscillating from side to side, thereby scraping the edges and making loud, scraping noises. I emailed the customer service and they responded in a timely fashion and sent me some slats to replace on the belt. I had to hunt out for the Allen key of the right size for weeks because the specific size is not very common and no hardware store seemed to have it, but I managed to did get my hands on one and replaced the slats ASAP. Yet, it turns out, that wasn't really the problem, so they sent in a tech who was not properly informed about the issue, however, he did his best and replaced one of the pulleys that had come lose and the treadmill seemed to work for like 2-3 weeks at best. And then it slowly starting making creasing noises again.
As of 31st of May, 2023, the treadmill is inoperable. The belt constantly slips, lifts, shakes and jams; one of the pulleys has come loose (different from the first); and I just don't think it's worth the money that I spent anymore. At this point, I just want a refund and be done with it. The convenience of having a manual treadmill jumped out the window, robbed my joy for running, and went to get milk.
On one side, Trueform's customer service has been stellar: punctual and professional. And I have really enjoyed running on the treadmill for as long (short?) as it worked properly. Its shallow curve is excellent for gait and good running mechanics. And it's a dream for barefoot & minimalist runners.
On the other side, for something I paid over $4k for, the quality is abysmal. I have ran less than 60 days in 7-8 months in total, partially because of my busy schedule, but mostly because I can't run on it to begin with. Nowadays, I find myself daydreaming about traveling back in time and going for the assault runner, instead. :)
I'll be getting in touch with their rep for the 4th time and update this post on how it goes.

2023.05.31 18:39 doctorevil30564 Adobe Audit "Mandatory"
Got an email sent to our former Network Administrator from a CDW email address over the holiday weekend that sounded like a catch up / sales call request for a phone meeting. I responded politely to advise that the former Administrator was no longer with the company in our IT department and that we were perfectly happy with our current adobe creative suite licensing in the portal and had no plans to add additional licenses or remove any currently allocated licenses. Thought that was the end of it, I periodically get this type of email from current or former vendors we do or have done business with in the past. I got a response with another email that had been CCed telling me to refer to the linked items for our licensing agreement and that this was not a sales email and the meeting and Audit are required.
Apparently they haven't been doing audits the past seven years and now they're doing them again.
We only have a small number of licensed users with the full adobe creative suite which is licensed through their portal user accounts, and each user has a single activated computer or laptop (marketing team members who do graphics or video editing).
Has anyone been able to professionally and politely tell these guys to go pound sand?
I didn't care much for the prickly response from them. Had they worded their original email different and told me it was time for a mandatory audit to begin with I would have responded accordingly. The times they requested for possible dates for the meeting fall during my vacation cruise and I handed it off to our IT director to schedule and have the meeting.
I am pretty sure this isn't a scam, but it sure feels that way.

2023.05.31 18:39 Fxguy1 Entry Level Work from Home programming positions?
TL/DR: I am looking to secure a work-from-home programmer part-time after being a pharmacist and substitute teacher. I have completed a certificate in programming and database management from Parkland College (including Web Dev, Database dev, C/C++, Python, and PHP / SQL) but have not applied nor worked in software development.
Long Story
I am currently unemployed and have had a bit of a rocky history since 2019. Prior to 2019 I was a pharmacist for 12 years and worked at only 3 companies. I took some time off then I worked as a substitute teacher (2020-2022) and a very short stint in retail pharmacy (Nov 2022-May 2023).
I was on short-term disability from Feb 2023-May 1st 2023). I was supposed to start with Walgreens part-time but have had to push it back as a result of a back injury. I have an MRI scheduled tomorrow and am looking at either a steroid spinal injection or outpatient surgery for a herniated disk. My back should be better soon and so not an issue.
Financially I need to return to work. I really do not want to start with Walgreens and would really like to get something where I can work from home part-time (or full-time if a good fit) working as a programmer.
I have a certificate in general programming and database management from the local college. I am very familiar with programming theory (algorithms, data structures, loops, functions, etc.). I have a working knowledge/passing ability with Java, Python, and C++. I have built front-end websites (so working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and XHTML) and backend (PHP, SQL).
Since I haven't worked with programming daily I would need to brush up on whatever language is needed or used for the position. I am a fast learner and will pick things up quickly. So what are some things I can do to get that elusive first/entry-level job?

2023.05.31 18:32 Hairy-Hedgehog7116 My narc mom stole my life from me. TW abuse
My mom married richie rich and 9 months later I was born. 9 months later they divorced, my mom didn’t get shit. She abused me every single day in every single way. We lived in a dump with homeless people, drug dealers etc. till she remarried and then both would abuse me. She’d call me racial slurs (due to my bio dad being a different ethnicity), how even my own dad abandoned me, make me feel worthless etc. When I would “answer back”or “misbehave “ my mom would beat the crap out of me and if I dared to cry, she’d pretend to call my dad so he would “break my bones”. She’d tell me stories how his mom tried to kill me/ get me sick on purpose. Of course she denies all of this ever happening, the woman is a pathological liar.
I never blamed my bio dad, how was I to know he wasn’t any poorer than me? One day she went to pay the ISP. The cashier happened to recognise her, apparently he was my dad’s cousin. We went out with his parents for coffee, i absolutely cannot speak ill of those people. After the constant beatings from my mom, my great uncle pulled me in by the arm and my blood froze, thinking he was going to harm me. Man gave me the best bear hug I ever had. Imagine a 6’4 fella happy bouncing from one feet to the other hugging you, that’s the terrible people my mom used to threaten me with. I never received any further info or calls from them, afterwards I learnt my mom had blocked them.
Fast forward to 2021 my dad died. My mom calls his mom (in 25 years of life I never knew she even had her number), she wanted to meet me. My mom started saying they’d try to poison me for the inheritance and similar, that my grandma wanted me to sign documents to refuse any inheritance, my dads retirement fund etc. I have no way of knowing if that is true or what was actually said between them. However the next day I did get disowned by them (I have legal proof).
Then I went to stalk them on social media. My dad had a brand new family, new wife, a kid, pets, the full picture. My aunt (his sister) is constantly on vacations and holidays. And I live in a slum barely making ends meet. My mom’s second husband also died, and she collected a hefty inheritance to the point she’s set for life and moved out.
We were going though old paperwork to clear a cupboard and she found the divorce papers, threw them in my face and said “there, a memory from your good for nothing dad. he didn’t even do a single payment for child support” to which I replied “instead of complaining you could’ve sewed him” and she said “He was willing to pay if I gave you to him in the scheduled visiting days, but I refused to send you off“. So the whole ‘your dad didn’t want you’ story was a lie? And want to know more? His mom sent me yearly checks for bdays, name days, xmas etc. Of course I never knew that nor saw the money.
I just feel like if my mom was a descent human being I would’ve had a descent chance at life. If she hadn’t kept me locked up (yes, you read that right, I was not allowed to leave the apartment even to go get bread) till I was 18, maybe i’d have some friends and wouldn’t be crippled by depression now. I could’ve had a family, I could’ve went to school, many “could haves” I have no way of knowing. And I can’t even contact that side of the family, because i’m scared my mom will find out and I’ll end up on the streets.
Sorry for the long post, I just needed to vent.

2023.05.31 18:19 Dramatic-Surprise251 10+ years of debilitating chronic health issues finally solved but ruined my entire life
I’m 27. When I was 13/14, I started having weird throat issues all the time. It felt like my throat had a lot of pressure in it, like a weird tension feeling, and the only thing that helped was when I ate/drank something or swallowed. This would help then it would come back a few minutes or so later. I had weird issues swallowing saliva too. I saw an ear nose & throat doctor about this and was told my issue was acid reflux. Doctor prescribed reflux medication and told me to sleep on an incline. I did those things for a while, but it didn’t help. Supposedly I was treating the issue and the doctor didn’t know why I wasn’t improving but told me to continue doing what I was doing to supposedly treat it. I saw some other doctors that weren’t sure either. I pretty much learned to just live like that but it was annoying and started to take over my life to the point that every day revolved around coping with my throat and dealing with the bad anxiety it was causing. I used to avoid things, had no life, had to make sure I always had something to drink to help my throat, and felt really stressed about the whole thing and how it was affecting me. On a side note, I also used to breathe mostly through my mouth as well. No one really knew, but I was really miserable all the time because of this stuff.
At 15, I started to feel like a brain fog on top of the throat issues. Something I’d never felt before. It was like my brain felt like mush all the time, no matter how much sleep I got. Like that feeling when you sleep really bad for a couple nights and feel like crap, except I was sleeping enough. Felt kind of spaced out constantly, couldn’t concentrate as well, I never wanted to do anything, felt apathetic, and just kind of crappy all the time. Wasn’t severe but was definitely impacting my day to day life. I went back to seeing doctors. Lots of doctors said there was nothing medically wrong with me and some even said that the brain fog (and maybe even the throat issues) were all psychological. I didn’t feel like that was it because my symptoms felt so real and physical but what did I know. I was prescribed antidepressants and doctors recommended I see a therapist for bad anxiety issues. I spent the next couple of years trying multiple medications, seeing therapists, and making other changes but nothing helped. I thought I was going crazy. In those few years that passed, I had slowly started to feel worse. By the time I graduated high school, the constant mental fog and tiredness were affecting me pretty bad. I felt stressed and anxious nonstop. I had almost no life during high school because of it and did just the bare minimum to get by. With lots of doctors telling me there was nothing physically wrong with me, I started to believe them about it being all mental. I thought it was something I was doing wrong personally. At this point I wasn’t even talking to my family about it as much since supposedly there was nothing wrong and it was all in my head. Especially when doctor after doctor were saying nothing was wrong and because my symptoms were mostly feeling tired all the time, what was I supposed to say? It felt like it was my personal fault for feeling the way I did. Everyone gave me the impression that my issues were because of me and I just needed to change my mindset and lifestyle and I’d feel better. Do anxiety workbooks, deep breathing, get more sleep, take antidepressants, therapy. I did every single thing doctors and therapists told me to do, but nothing helped. Doctors and therapists made me question my sanity every day. It was hell.
I was in no shape to go to college out of state, but I did. I ended up going because supposedly there was nothing wrong with me and I was trying desperately to believe it was all in my head like doctors and therapists and my family were saying. I just needed to change my way of thinking and lifestyle and that would cure the constant brain fog and tiredness and throat issues. So I pushed myself to go, hoping I’d sort it out. I spent the next 4 years slowly feeling worse, still seeing doctors but getting no legit answers. I'd go months and months at a time without seeing a doctor as I didn't know where to turn and had given up at times. I saw a doctor about sleep apnea but didn't seem to fit almost any of the symptoms. Stuff like waking up trying to get air, choking, stopping breathing, snoring, wasn't overweight, wasn't unhealthy, didn’t have a family history of it or other health issues. Still, I tried one of those moldable mouthpieces that’s supposed to help with sleep apnea but didn't see any benefit from it. So with all of this, I figured it’s probably not sleep apnea. I was so desperate, I was constantly trying all sorts of medications, supplements, and other weird things to try and help myself. I felt like I was losing my damn mind. My mental health was horrendous. Felt like crap 24/7. I literally felt stupid because my brain wasn’t working. Dealing with symptoms and figuring out what was wrong with me consumed my entire life. I would occasionally go to class after taking a big dose of stimulant drugs, but even those only did so much. No amount of caffeine pills, energy drinks did anything either. I was beyond that stuff helping. I experienced almost nothing enjoyable in those 4 years of college and had basically no life, really no friends, hobbies, nothing. Really the only experience I had during college was when I went on a study abroad trip but it was hell because I felt so awful the whole time. I had also joined a fraternity in the beginning of college but did almost nothing with them for the same reason. The mental tiredness had gotten so bad it felt like I was disconnected and living in a dream. Like I felt kind of drunk. I was so mentally and emotionally numb and exhausted I didn’t even feel human. Like I physically could not feel emotions and felt super spaced out. I was also still dealing with the throat issues. I’d get random dizziness, my vision got worse (more sensitive to bright light, bad floaters in my eyes). I somehow managed to graduate college and finished feeling significantly worse than when I began. I was so miserable and had no one to talk to about what was going on. But I was at least glad that college was over, because it sucked horribly.
I spent the next year doing just the bare minimum to get by. About a year after college (2019), I had a sleep study done and results came back with moderate sleep apnea. For the first time I actually had an answer. Sleep doctor immediately prescribed a CPAP machine. Didn’t even bother to wonder why a young healthy person has sleep apnea to begin with, because it’s not normal. I spent the next 2ish years trying multiple machines, masks, changing all the settings, but only saw some improvement. Keeping the CPAP consistently on throughout the night was also a struggle in itself as it was super awkward and uncomfortable, even though I was desperately trying to make it work. When I was able to keep it on for 5+ hours a night I felt a bit better but it was really difficult to do so consistently. During this time I couldn’t really hold down a job, other than some really basic, short term jobs. And even those felt brutal. My relationships with everyone were affected pretty bad. I was a complete zombie because the tiredness was so overwhelming. It was as an amount of brain fog and exhaustion I didn’t know was humanly possible. I was making myself basically sick with stimulants that really weren't helping and even had a doctor at one point tell me that I should get genetic testing for depression or have my brain zapped with electric shocks. I luckily didn't go that route.
After two years of messing with machines, my sleep doctor then recommended I see a maxillofacial doctor to see what the underlying breathing issue was being caused by. The doctor recommended I get a custom mouthpiece made that shifts the lower jaw forward to help open the airway to prevent breathing issues while sleeping. The process of having it fitted and made took a couple months. I even took a “real” job during this same time because I had two different doctors telling me that this mouthpiece was likely to help me a lot. I felt like I couldn’t have gotten the mouthpiece fast enough. I ended up messing with the mouthpiece for months and had no benefit at all. Literally zero. The dentist who made the mouthpiece said that the mouthpiece wasn’t helping because I might just have “weak muscle tone” in my throat and that I should see someone called a myofunctional doctor to supposedly improve muscle tone in the throat and tongue. I looked into that and it seemed like total quack stuff so I didn’t do it and completely dropped that dentist that made my mouthpiece and suggested this. I then saw an ear nose and throat doctor and later did a sleep endoscopy with him where I was put to sleep and had my breathing monitored with a camera down my throat. The doctor said that my breathing issues were being caused by my throat and jaw and suggested that since the mouthpiece wasn’t helping, I could get surgery or have a device called Inspire surgically inserted into my chest and neck to artificially help breathing. I held off on that cause it sounded pretty extreme and thought there had to be something else. During this time I had to leave the job I should’ve never taken in the first place because I was so non-functional.
I pretty much gave up for months. I eventually scheduled an appointment with another ear nose & throat doctor (the same kind of doctor I saw when I was 13). I'd already seen many ear nose & throat doctors by this point but didn't know what else to do. Don’t remember how exactly it happened, but the connection was made that my issues were due to really abnormal nasal breathing. Something called nasal valve stenosis, where both sides of my nose were completely caving in and blocking most air, leading to crappy breathing, even when just breathing in lightly. This issue is worse during sleep and was causing my brain to “wake up” every time my nose had the obstruction. So I was struggling to breathe all night and I was slowly feeling worse as I was never getting good deep sleep. So the bad sleep every night just kept accumulating over the course of 10+ years. He also explained that my throat issues were a sign that my nose wasn’t functioning normally, which was causing airflow issues and a throat pressure feeling as a result. But weirdly the nasal issues weren’t being caused by my nose itself. There’s nothing actually wrong with my nose. It’s the middle part of the face that provides the base and support for the nose that is lacking the support needed to keep the nose open for normal breathing. Doctor said it’s really abnormal for nasal collapse to happen like this as a result of the face just not developing properly. It was just the way the middle of my face grew and changed over time, especially during puberty, that led to this. Doctor said it is called midface deficiency. It’s the area of the face just to the sides of the nose, below the eyes. Doctor said facial surgery is really what I needed but said nasal surgery could potentially help a bit and is less intense of a surgery, so I decided to go with that. Prior to the surgery the doctor had me wear a dilator in my nose at night to keep it open which helped immensely. Everything finally made sense for the first time ever. I even recorded my sleep and sure enough I could hear myself struggling to breathe all night.
Last year (2022), I had nasal valve surgery. It took a long time to recover from surgery and I still have to wear something in my nose when I sleep to prevent it from pinching shut because the surgery only helped a bit. I will still have to look into facial surgery to address the underlying issue as my breathing is still horrible during the day when I’m not wearing a dilator in my nose but at night I wear it and am good. Over time most of my issues have gone away. The slowly worsening exhaustion and brain fog and cognitive issues that started when I was a teenager. The constant severe anxiety and stress feelings I had since I was a kid. Throat issues gone. I no longer feel like killing myself out of misery. It was that obvious all along but untreated made my life constant fucking torture. Feeling horrible nonstop, slowly getting worse, not knowing why, being told there was nothing wrong with me and that it was all psychological, trying all sorts of things with no benefit, and having my entire life be ruined was a mental hell I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I don’t feel like my teens and most my 20s actually happened because I was in such poor health physically and mentally 24/7. Surreal all of this even happened. I wish I had been able to see decent doctors earlier, but obviously that didn’t happen. I’m not even sure how I wasn’t able to make the connection myself. I think I was just so used to really bad breathing since I was young I didn’t know it was abnormal and had no reason to think I had some weird issue cause why would I? I still struggle with the mental effects of I think living like this for so long. The depression and anger about it all. These issues consumed everything for over 10 years so I guess it’s not surprising that it still affects me mentally even after the fact. Thanks for reading and hopefully this can help someone out there.

2023.05.31 18:17 Dramatic-Surprise251 10+ years of debilitating chronic health issues solved but destroyed me entire life
I was so mentally and emotionally numb and exhausted I didn’t even feel human. | https://preview.redd.it/3x6xilcue83b1.png?width=3500&format=png&auto=webp&s=b91d075a491cb82becf5631446494eec153b6d37 VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 31, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Aldebaran Resources Inc. (“ Aldebaran ” or the “ Company ”) (TSX-V: ALDE, OTCQX: ADBRF) is pleased to report results for hole ALD-23-225B from its ongoing drilling campaign at the Altar copper-gold project in San Juan Province, Argentina. Hole ALD-23-225B was drilled to test the continuity between mineralization encountered in previously released holes ALD-22-223 (1,167.50 m of 0.48% CuEq – see Company news release dated March 1, 2023) and ALD-23-224 (769.50 m of 0.55% CuEq – see Company news release dated May 11, 2023), and to provide another pierce point into the promising geophysical anomaly that sits below and lateral to the current resources at Altar. Hole ALD-23-225B was terminated at 1,347.20 m depth and intercepted a long run of mineralization, representing one of the best holes drilled on the property to date. Highlights ALD-23-225B - 1,056.20 m of 0.56% CuEq from 291 m depth
- Including 951.20 m of 0.60% CuEq from 396 m depth
- Including 645.00 m of 0.70% CuEq from 622 m depth
- Higher-grade than the current average grade of the mineral resource
- Hole ended in 19.20 m of 0.50 % CuEq
- Provides additional confirmation that the mineralized footprint of the Altar system is much larger than previously understood
John Black, Chief Executive Officer of Aldebaran, commented as follows: “Hole ALD-23-225B represents one of the best holes ever completed on the Altar project in terms of both grade and length. Now that we have several holes into the geophysical anomaly sitting beneath and lateral to current resources, it’s clear that previous drilling on the project merely scratched the surface of what is shaping up to be an extremely large copper system. We’re very excited to see how the system evolves as we continue to complete additional holes.” Dr. Kevin B. Heather, Chief Geological Officer of Aldebaran, commented as follows: “Hole 225B infills a 400 m gap between previous drill holes 223 and 224, both of which also returned long runs of very attractive grades, further confirming continuity of this new Altar United mineralized zone along a WNW-ESE trend. Significantly, this hole encountered higher-grade mineralization than the average CuEq grade in the current mineral resource, suggesting that we may have found a “hot spot” within the larger system.” Table 1 below displays detailed assay results. Figure 1 displays a plan map with the location of the reported holes as well as completed and active drill holes. Figure 2 displays a cross-section, looking to the east, showing results from ALD-23-225B. Figure 3 displays a cross-section, looking to the north, displaying the prominent geophysical anomaly at the Altar project and the results of drilling into that anomaly, to date. https://preview.redd.it/g87frbfue83b1.png?width=720&format=png&auto=webp&s=620c3c5983a49797e3939296f13fd7ab65f96529 Discussion of Results ALD-23-225B Drillhole ALD-23-225B was collared 230 m southwest from ALD-22-223. It was drilled at -80 degrees inclination and 180 degrees azimuth to a final depth of 1,347.50 m. This hole is a twin of ALD-23-225, which was lost at 179 m depth. Drillhole ALD-23-225B intersected diorite porphyry from surface to 1,324.2 m depth where the hole transitions to andesitic volcanic rocks cut by diorite porphyry dykes until the end of the hole. The top 280 m of the hole are strongly oxidized and fractured. A poorly formed enrichment zone occurs from the base of oxidation to 460 m depth. This interval is characterized by weak chalcocite-pyrite-chalcopyrite mineralization associated with white sericite alteration overprinting potassic alteration. From 460 m until the end of the hole the dominant alteration is characterized by green sericite-quartz-anhydrite assemblages overprinting earlier potassic alteration, both of which are well mineralized. The green sericite-quartz-anhydrite-chalcopyrite-(chalcocite) assemblage occurs as halos of hairline veins that overprint earlier K feldspar-biotite-chalcopyrite alteration. These halo-style veins are pervasive and obliterate the original texture of the rock and are associated with abundant fine-grained sulphides associated with very high copper grades. Occurrence of these halo veins correspond with an increasing frequency of quartz-chalcopyrite-pyrite-molybdenite veins, which in most cases are crosscutting the halo-style veins. Mineralization in this interval consists of fine-grained sulphides consisting of chalcopyrite-pyrite-bornite-molybdenite. Project Update The Company is actively drilling with four rigs. Holes ALD-23-227, ALD-23-228, ALD-23-230, ALD-23-231 and ALD-23-189EXT were recently completed and were terminated at 1,238.5 m, 1,241.6 m, 611.4 m, 1,211.8 m, and 1,246.0 m respectively: all pending final assays. Hole ALD-23-189EXT is an extension of historical drill hole ALD-12-189, which was originally terminated at 592 m depth. At the date of this release, three new holes were being drilled: hole ALD-23-229 was at approximately 1,401.5 m depth, while holes ALD-23-232 and ALD-23-124EXT were at approximately 828.35 m and 529.45 m depths, respectively. Hole ALD-23-124EXT is an extension of historical drill hole ALD-12-124, which was originally terminated at 226.50 m depth. The fourth rig is being mobilized to drill pad ALD-23-233. The Company plans to continue drilling until weather permits, which is currently anticipated to be sometime in June 2023. 2023.05.31 18:02 trueproteinbars Air Fare Secrets Revealed: Insider Tips for Finding Unbeatable Prices!
Introduction
Are you tired of spending a fortune on airfares every time you plan your vacation or business trip? Well, the good news is that there are some insider tips and tricks which can help you find unbeatable prices for your flights. In this blog post, we'll reveal some well-kept secrets about airfares that the airlines don't want you to know! From knowing the best days to fly to finding cheap flights through various sources, we've got it all covered. So sit tight and get ready to take notes as we unveil how smart travelers save big when booking their next flight!
The Airfare
When it comes to airfare, there are a lot of factors that can affect the price. One of the biggest is simply supply and demand. When more people want to fly to a particular destination, prices tend to go up. Conversely, when fewer people are traveling somewhere, prices may drop.
Another factor that can impact airfare is the time of year. Prices often rise during peak travel season, which varies depending on your destination. If you're flexible with your travel dates and times, you may be able to find cheaper flights outside of peak season.
The airline you choose can also have an impact on your airfare costs. Budget airlines typically offer lower fares than traditional carriers but may charge extra fees for things like checked baggage or in-flight meals.
Booking early (or late) can make a big difference in the price you pay for airfare. Some experts recommend booking 6-8 weeks before your trip for best pricing while others suggest waiting until closer to departure date for last-minute deals.
By understanding these various factors that impact airfare pricing, you'll be better equipped to find the best deals possible when flying!
The Best Days to Fly
When it comes to finding the best deals on airfares, choosing the right day to fly can make a significant difference. While there is no universal answer as to which days of the week are always cheaper than others, some trends have emerged over time.
Generally speaking, Tuesdays and Wednesdays tend to be less busy days for airlines, resulting in lower prices. This makes sense since most people prefer flying on weekends or Mondays and Thursdays for business trips. However, if you're looking to save even more money, consider flying on Saturdays or even Sundays.
Another factor that affects airfare pricing is seasonal demand. For example, flights during peak travel seasons like summer holidays or Christmas/New Year's Eve tend to be more expensive across all weekdays because of high demand.
It's also worth considering what time of day you want to fly. Early morning flights (before 8 am) may be cheaper compared with later departures due to low demand from travelers who don't want an early start.
Ultimately, though many factors affect when airfare prices will change; by being flexible with your travel dates and avoiding peak season holiday periods altogether could save you hundreds of dollars per ticket!
The Cheapest Days to Fly
When it comes to finding the cheapest airfares, timing is everything. If you're flexible with your travel dates, you can save a significant amount of money by flying on days that are less popular for travel.
Traditionally, Tuesdays and Wednesdays have been considered the cheapest days to fly. This is because most people tend to travel on weekends or at the end of the week, leaving mid-week flights less in demand and therefore cheaper.
However, this isn't always true anymore. Many airlines now offer deals throughout the week and may even increase prices during high-traffic events or holidays such as Christmas or Thanksgiving.
It's important to do some research before booking your flight. Use online tools such as Google Flights or Skyscanner to compare prices across multiple airlines and dates. You may find that flying on a Monday or Thursday works out cheaper than flying midweek depending on where you're traveling from and where you're going.
Ultimately, being flexible with your travel plans will give you more options when searching for cheap
air fares. Keep an open mind about which days could work best for your schedule and budget, and be prepared to book quickly if a great deal presents itself!
How to Find Cheap Flights
Looking for cheap flights can seem like a daunting task, but it doesn't have to be. With the right tools and strategies, finding affordable airfare is easier than ever before.
One of the first things you should do when searching for flights is to use multiple search engines. Each engine may offer different prices or options that could save you money. It's also important to be flexible with your travel dates and times as this can significantly impact ticket prices.
Another tip is to sign up for email alerts from airlines or third-party booking websites. This way, you'll receive notifications about deals and price drops as soon as they happen.
Using incognito mode on your web browser while searching for tickets can also help prevent prices from increasing based on your search history. Clearing cookies and cache regularly can also help in this regard.
Consider alternative airports or nearby cities that may have lower fares. Connecting flights may also be cheaper than direct ones in some cases.
By utilizing these tips and tricks, you'll increase your chances of finding cheap flights without sacrificing quality or convenience.
Insider Tips for Finding Unbeatable Prices
When it comes to finding unbeatable prices on airfares, there are some insider tips that can help you save big. First of all, always be flexible with your travel dates. This means being open to flying on weekdays instead of weekends and avoiding peak travel times such as holidays or major events.
Another tip is to sign up for airline newsletters and follow them on social media platforms. Airlines often offer exclusive deals and discounts to their subscribers and followers. You can also set price alerts through various online booking websites, which will notify you when the fares drop for your preferred destination.
It's essential to book flights in advance if possible, as last-minute bookings tend to be more expensive due to high demand. Additionally, consider alternative airports near your destination as they may have lower fares than larger ones.
Consider bundling flights with hotels or car rentals for additional savings. Many airlines offer package deals that can save you money overall compared to purchasing each item separately.
By following these insider tips for finding unbeatable airfare prices, you'll be able to stretch your budget further and enjoy more travel opportunities without breaking the bank.
Conclusion
Finding unbeatable prices for
air fares is not as difficult as it may seem. By using the insider tips mentioned above, you can save a considerable amount of money on your next flight. Remember to be flexible with your travel dates and destinations, utilize various search engines and websites, sign up for alerts and loyalty programs, and always check multiple times before booking.
Booking flights doesn't have to break the bank if you are willing to put in some effort and time into researching these secrets. Use this information wisely for any future trips you plan on taking - whether it's a family vacation or solo adventure - happy travels!

2023.05.31 16:57 GuardGuidesdotcom Practical Security Tech: CCTV and Access Control Systems
In this line of work, we're not just guards anymore, we're tech operators too. Today, let's have a quick chat about some of the systems you might be dealing with: CCTV systems and Access Control Systems.
CCTV Systems
Most of you will be familiar with CCTV systems – the cameras you're staring at when you get slapped at a desk in addition to the recording software attached. It's like having an extra pair of eyes on every corner. These are a key piece of the puzzle in keeping our sites safe. There is a misconception that they are only useful for active monitoring and prevention of incidents. While that is a good use case, CCTV systems are better put to use as a "post incident" investigative tool, providing crucial information about an incident, including details that might have been missed in real time.
Access Control Systems
We also have Access Control Systems. Think of them as your digital bouncer, deciding who gets in and who doesn’t. Software like Lenel or C-Cure helps you manage who has access to what areas and when.
One feature? You can schedule doors to lock or unlock - handy for regular business hours, holiday schedules, or restricted areas. But you need to be on top of it, it's not a passive feature, watching for any strange behavior, like a door being held open for too long, or swipes being rejected. And if someone leaves the company or loses their access privileges? Easy fix - the system can revoke their access with a few clicks.
I've encountered a couple of positions where you were a security guard specifically tasked with administering these systems, in my case it was called "Security Support Officer" and paid significantly more than a normal officer. There are dedicated training courses, some certified dedicated to people who want to be proficient in either the administration side or monitoring side of the software. Also, though I've only done cursory research, there is an industry dedicated to installing and configuring these access control systems.

2023.05.31 16:15 igorcarbex16 Bully Soundtrack References & Similarities in Details...
https://preview.redd.it/ahl29u0mu73b1.jpg?width=453&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d37661c842a119f0ed83740ec3eebdaf7b35e47 Hello
Bully it's me again, The Bully soundtrack composed by the genius Shawn Lee is pretty rad, so as a music enthusiastic, i want to share this post for people really obsessed with the Bully songs like me, tried to include every song in the game like as puzzle pieces getting together with the greatest amount, most accurate and similar as possible in one sitting, with some help around the internet, personal discoveries and songs already mentioned for yourselves so thank you nonetheless, and sorry for the repetition. Unfortunately some will still be missing so "a little help"/hits for these unreferenced sounds are very welcome.
Some songs are pretty obvious but others looks well hidden, but that's the fun of it, not every song is a sample, they just sound alike or has interpolations.
