Character Concept [109]: SMS Prinz Heinrich (World of Warships)
2023.05.31 16:22 Noblesse311 Character Concept [109]: SMS Prinz Heinrich (World of Warships)
Faction:
Ironblood Kaiserreich (Imperial Federation of Germany)
Class:
Ersatz Yorck-class Battlecruiser
Background:
In an alternate timeline…
On 29 October 1918, a rebellion broke out amongst the sailors at Wilhelmshaven, with similar unrest breaking out on 3 November 1918 that led to the Kiel mutiny, these events, in which the sailors and workers in both cities began electing workers’ and soldiers’ councils modelled after similar councils of the 1917 October Revolution would be the catalyst that started the German Revolution of 1918-1919. By 7 November, the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), specifically the pro-parliamentary Majority SPD (MSPD, to differentiate from the pro-Soviet-styled Independent Social Democratic Party of Germany or USPD) would take charge of the revolution, joining the calls for Wilhelm II to abdicate. Despite the Kaiser’s refusal, Germany’s chancellor, Maximilian von Zähringen, himself the heir to the throne of the Grand Duchy of Baden, would announce that the Kaiser and his son, Crown Prince Wilhelm had already abdicated.
On 9 November, Philipp Shiedemann, the State Secretary under Max von Baden was dining with Friedrich Ebert. As an SPD member was late for the meeting at the restaurant, Philipp Scheidemann would dine directly at the same table as Friedrich Ebert. It was there that both men would receive the news that Karl Leibknecht of the USPD was to announce the establishment of a Soviet Republic. While Shiedemann wanted to maintain the initiative for the MSPD by proclaiming a German Republic instead, he was talked down from doing so by Ebert, citing that the decision must be decided by the constituent assembly.
\1]) Regardless, Leibknecht would announce the establishment of the Free Socialist Republic of Germany, followed two days later with the signing of the armistice at Compiègne two days later.
The move not to align with the USPD led to a rift between the two wings of the SPD, that would dominate the German Revolution, a fact furthered by Baden and Ebert meeting with General Wilhelm Groener, leader of Germany’s Supreme Army Command. The Baden-Groener Pact, concluded on 10 November, ensured the loyalty of the military and its support against leftist forces, and ensured that the military, limited by the Treaty of Versailles, would remain fully in control by the German officer class. This would prove handy however, as the row between MSPD and USPD deepened when far-leftist groups in the latter broke away to form the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) and launch what would become the Spartacist Uprising in January 1919. The uprising was put down by the Freikorps and their leaders were effectively executed, and with the affirmation of Ebert and Baden, those responsible were not court-martialed and the worst offenders suffered lenient sentences, which made the government unpopular with the far-left.
As for the far-right however, while there were still misgivings about the new government, the fact of the matter remained that the monarchy still existed as an official institution, and indeed, many Allied and German leaders, both in support and in opposition to the war, favored transitioning Germany into a full Constitutional Monarchy
\2]), which would be achieved with the 1919 German Constitution, also known as the Weimar Imperial Constitution. (in reference to the 1871 Constitution also being known as Bismarck’s Imperial Constitution)
\3]) Although there were considerations to install one of the male sons of Crown Prince Wilhelm to become Kaiser, their young ages (the eldest, another Prince Wilhelm was twelve at the time) and the danger of a regency in such trying times forced the decision to instead put the Crown Prince younger brother, and the Kaiser’s fourth son, Prince August Wilhelm as the new Kaiser, becoming August I of what became known as the German Imperial Federation.
\4])
The 1920s in Germany would be dominated by the desire to restore the prestige and privileges as to be expected by a European nation, chiefly the withdrawal of Entente troops from the Rhineland. Citing the need to ensure the status quo, the chief negotiator, Gustav Stresemann would negotiate with Britain and France to recognize and abandon its claims to German territory lost during the Great War, in exchange for a loosening of its military restrictions citing the communist threats to the east in the form of Soviet Russia, now the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, and the communist states that survived from it, the Hungarian Soviet Republic and the People’s Republic of Bulgaria. The result from these negotiations nearly led to a break, as France (itself slowly falling into the grip of far-left politics) not only did not wish to see Germany rearm in any capacity, but was also still keen on trying to detach the Rhineland from Germany (with the far-right even desiring its integration into France) something that had been thwarted by the limited German authorities in the zone as well as by the British who saw an attempt in 1923 and 1925 off, causing financial and diplomatic damage between France and the British. In spite of everything, many of the sides did get something out of the deal in the Treaty of Locarno, with Germany repudiating its claims to lost territories and a loosening of military restrictions in order to assist in seeing off the Communist threat. As part of the Locarno Treaty was a Naval Agreement, ratified by British Parliament and the German Reichstag that would effectively bring Berlin into the Washington Naval Treaty system, setting its maximum tonnage at 35% of the current tonnage in service under the Royal Navy, a move that would anger the French and push them closer to the Soviet Union.
\5])
One of the results from this was the revival of Germany’s capital ship program, largely left moribund following Germany’s defeat in World War I. Initially, designs were planned for a cruiser with pre-dreadnought-sized main guns to serve as a replacement for the older Braunschweig-class pre-dreadnoughts in order to remain compliant to the old treaty, but with the new naval agreement put in place. The planned ships were canceled and instead development shifted to the construction of a new battlecruiser which was to be laid down by 1929. The design used was to be the old Ersatz Yorck-class design, retaining the 380mm main guns in four twin turrets, as well as her secondaries, twelve 150mm guns in single turrets, but would see the inclusion of Anti-Aircraft armament in the form of 88mm Flak guns in twin turrets and 37mm guns, also in twin turrets. The reasoning for why the Ersatz Yorck design was chosen in a slightly modified form was mainly to avoid stepping on the shells of the British, a design that would largely be viewed as dated by comparison (the original design was completed in 1916, and the planned lead ship was laid down that year, but was never completed due to a shift to U-Boat construction and was ultimately scrapped in 1918) but would serve as a stepping stone towards Germany among equals with the other great powers. The lead ship, which would keep the provisional name as its official name, SMS Yorck, was laid down on 5 February 1929, launched on 19 May 1931 and commissioned on 1 April 1933. SMS Prinz Heinrich (named after the Kaiser’s uncle), originally readopting the old provisional name “Ersatz Scharnhorst” and the second ship in her class would in turn, be laid down on 25 June 1931 at the Kaiserliche Reichsmarinewerft Wilhelmshaven (KRW) shipyard. She was launched on 1 April 1933 and commissioned on 12 November 1934. Heinrich herself would be followed by the third and final ship in that class, SMS Friedrich Barbarossa (formerly “Ersatz Gneisenau”), commissioned on 6 January 1936.
\6])
Heinrich’s career would be dominated by developments wrought outside of Germany. The French Revolution of 1934 by the French Communist Party and its sympathizers led by Maurice Thorez would see the final repudiation of the Versailles Treaty, and in essence began both a naval arms race between France and Germany (the Dunkerques being developed as a response to Germany’s Hipper-class Heavy Cruisers, which in turn, led to the development of the Scharnhorst-class and later Bismarck-class Battleships) and a diplomatic effort between the forces of democracy against the Communist threat posed by the Soviet Union and the newly established French Commune. This diplomatic effort would see a close friendship, though not a formal alliance between Britain and Germany. The alliance (formally known as the Central European Alliance, though informally known as the Tübingen Accord) however would be with a number of states threatened by the spread of Communism across Europe. The battlecruiser herself would find herself involved in affairs with Spain and their civil war and their participation in non-intervention patrols (in reality, supplying arms to the nationalists in the face of French arms and equipment, and ultimately, upon a near Republican-Communist victory, the withdrawal of the Spanish Nationalists and Carlists from Spain)
Heinrich would spend the second half of 1939 and much of early 1940 on drydock for repairs and refit, during which the Second Great War would begin on 6 October 1939 with the Soviet invasion of Poland, a member of the Tübingen Accord. The French, using their tanks to invade the Low Countries in order to circumvent the Westwall, attempted to catch the Germans by surprise in a move that seem like a reversal of the Schlieffen Plan the Germans used against the French in the last war, but this French thrust was kept at bay, with parts of the Province of Hanover and the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg being captured by the Communards, with one instance seeing the titular Grand Duke, Friedrich August II, captured and swiftly executed for the crime of “being born into a family of tyrants.” Fortunately, Heinrich’s refit was to be completed in Kiel, and therefore, avoided having to be evacuated when Wilhelmshaven fell on 25 May 1940.
Upon Prinz Heinrich’s return to service on 6 June 1940, she would take part in a number of convoy escort operations between Germany and Norway after the northern part of the country was occupied by the Red Army. This would become the Mannheim Project convoys, in which Norway’s facilities specializing in the production of deuterium oxide, better known as heavy water would allow the materials to be shipped to Germany for the development of a nuclear reactor, a means to combat the Bolsheviks. Support for this endeavor would be furthered with Britain’s entry into the war in October 1940, and it would be often times when Heinrich would be joined by Battlecruisers HMS Hood or HMS Renown, two ships of whom Prinz Heinrich was originally designed to counter a quarter-century prior.
On 10 July 1942, one such convoy, Convoy WL 252 would be shadowed by French naval forces, led by French battleship Solidarité
\7]). Dudley Pound, the First Sea Lord ordered the covering force to engage this force, leading to the Battle of the Celtic Sea. This battle, which featured SMS Prinz Heinrich and HMS Duke of York as well as a number of destroyers and cruisers, saw Prinz Heinrich enter into a gunnery duel with Solidarité. While Duke of York was the one who knocked out the battleship’s superfiring and rear turret, it was Heinrich that knocked out Solidarité’s boiler room, leaving her vulnerable to a pummeling by the allied forces, with the battleship’s attempt to get away thwarted by torpedo hits from German torpedo boat SMS S223, which reduced Solidarité’s speed and allowing the battleships to continue their bombardment until, unable to flee and wracked with so many hits, Solidarité capsized and sank. Though a major surface threat was eliminated, WL 252 would find herself sunk by Soviet bombers.
The tide began to turn on the Comintern in 1943 as the British began their slog into Spain and Germany and their eastern allies began pushing the Soviets back, successfully pushing them out of Poland, with Heinrich taking part in bombardment duties in the Gulf of Riga, and providing fire support for the German aerial attack on the Soviet Baltic Fleet at Leningrad. After another brief refit, Heinrich would be sent to Königsburg to retrieve the dead body of Kaiser August after a Soviet agent successfully assassinated the Kaiser on 20 June 1944, leaving the throne in the hands of his son, Alexander Ferdinand, now Alexander I of Germany. The last major actions Prinz Heinrich would take part in was in the Black Sea, supporting Allied incursions into the Black Sea coast of the Russian Soviet Republic, and was one of the few ships that made it into the Sea of Azov, albeit paying for it with a rocket strike that crippled the ship and would spend the immediate post-war years in drydock. The war ended with a defeat for the Comintern, with the communist governments toppled and some nations winning their independence from the defeated powers.
Rapidly made obsolete by newer big gun ships such as the Victoria Louise-class (originally the O-class) and the advent of aircraft carriers, Prinz Heinrich was decommissioned on 24 April 1949. By the request of Alexander I, she would become a museum ship in Wilhelmshaven, G.D. Oldenburg as part of the Friedrich August Memorial Naval Museum.
\1]: IOTL, Scheidemann would dine at a separate table from Ebert when he got the news. As a result, Scheidemann, of his own accord, would proclaim the German Republic, effectively ensuring that whatever happened, that the monarchy would be abolished entirely. The events in the paragraph serve as the Point of Divergence.)
\2]: While the German Empire [and in particular the Kingdom of Prussia] did have a Constitution, the Constitution of 1871, in reality the state was always run as a Semi-Constitutional Monarchy with the Kaiser holding significant power in a system that would be popularly called “Prussian Constitutionalism.”)
\3]: To define the 1919 German constitution ITTL, it’s the Weimar Constitution of OTL, albeit with the powers attributed to the President of Germany in the OTL Weimar Republic instead being placed in the hands of the Kaiser. In essence, the Kaiser would still retain various powers, while losing a number of powers that the position held under the 1871 Constitution. While I could’ve went with something more akin to the 1949 Constitution and have the Kaiser serve in a more ceremonial capacity from the start, the Weimar Constitution was probably the most democratic in many respects for its age, only undone by the constitutional loopholes that would be expected by a constitution for its time, as well as the various extremist groups hatred for the Republic, chiefly the far-right [and in particular the Nazis] who constantly preached that the Weimar Republic was not created by Germans but was actually imposed upon them as part of the hated Treaty of Versailles.)
\4]: Prince August Wilhelm is, to put mildly, a fairly controversial figure among the Hohenzollern imperial family. Nicknamed “Auwi,” he was a close personal friend of Hans Georg von Mackensen, a diplomat and eldest son of Field Marshal August von Mackensen, said personal friendship implied to have “pronounced homophillic tendencies.” After the abolishment of the German monarchy, he would join conservative nationalist movements and ultimately the Nazi Party in 1930 against the wishes of his father. August Wilhelm’s adoration of Hitler would play a role in the man’s rise to power come 1933, and it was his hope that Hitler would install him or his son on the vacant throne, a hope that would be dashed after the Enabling Act and would be left in the political wilderness.)
\5]: IOTL, the Anglo-German Naval Agreement was made in 1935, in part due to Britain seeking to limit German expansion by arms reduction, and Germany hoping for an Anglo-German alliance aimed towards the Soviet Union and France, as well as the former’s guilt over what was seen as harsh terms set on the Germans with Versailles.)
\6]: If the dates do not sound familiar to anyone, these are the dates that the first, second and third Deutschland-class Panzerschiff/Heavy Cruiser were laid down, launched and/or commissioned, with the Ersatz Yorck, now just the Yorck-class Battlecruisers all but replacing the Deutschlands in this timeline.)
\7]: Basically Communist Richelieu)
—
Prinz Heinrich is the Tier VII Battleship (Tier VI in World of Warships: Legends) representing the Battlecruiser tech tree in Wargaming’s World of Warships. Heinrich represents the
Ersatz Yorck-class Battlecruisers, the final battlecruiser design developed by the German Empire. Originally developed as Mackensen-class Battlecruisers, lessons learned from Jutland saw the gun increased to 380mm, utilizing the same guns as the Bayern-class Battleships. Like the Mackensen-class however, the ships were never laid due to the focus shifting to U-Boat construction, and the ships were canceled upon Germany’s defeat and the abolishment of the monarchy in 1918.
Namesake:
Prinz Heinrich is named for
Prince Henry of Prussia), the second son of Kaiser Friedrich III and younger brother of Wilhelm II (not to be confused with two other Prince Heinrich of Prussia, one being the brother of Frederick the Great (famously known as the prince considered to take the throne of the United States when that was considered) and another the brother Friedrich Wilhelm II). Henry was a career naval officer, serving for some 45 years in the Kaiserliche Marine. During World War I, he was the commander of Germany’s Baltic Fleet, and while the fleet was considered inferior in means compared to Russia’s Baltic Fleet, was able to keep them on the defensive throughout the war until the 1917 Revolutions. After the war, and with the dissolution of the monarchy, Prince Henry left the navy and would live a largely quiet life until his death in 1929.
Historically, only one ship bore the name Prinz Heinrich,
a unique armored cruiser launched in March 1900. She would serve as a scouting force flagship and gunnery training ship before World War I, and would take part in the Raid on Scarborough in 1915, before crew shortages led to her decommissioning in 1916.
Rarity:
SSR
Stat Spread:
As the last of the Imperial German Battlecruisers, Prinz Heinrich sports superb firepower (S) though suffers from fairly poor HP for a Battlecruiser (B) and an atrocious Anti-Aircraft capability (C). She also carries a fairly excellent torpedo stat (A). Her speed and evasion is about average for a battlecruiser (B).
Abilities:
- Eisen und Kohle (Iron and Coal): If this ship is equipped with the Twin 380mm Drh LC/1913 main gun, increase this ship’s crit chance by 10% (30%) and decrease this gun’s dispersion by 3.
- I’m My Own Master Now!: Decrease the loading time of this ship’s main guns by 20% (40%). When this ship fires her main guns, fire a unique barrage with damage based on skill level.
- Let’s Race!: If sortied with an Ironblood Destroyer, increase the Speed and Evasion of all Ironblood Vanguard ships by 3 and 5% (10%) respectively.
Personality:
Prinz Heinrich is a woman who is shown to be very confident and inspires such confidence in others. A very sporty individual, she is an avid fan of yachting and formula racing (her namesake also being as such, with the latter having a contest named in his honor, and was the precursor to the German Grand Prix today). As such, she is very skilled in maintenance, both for her rigging and in regards to boats, planes and cars. Though she can talk at length about her interests, she does tend to space out when it comes to other matters.
Quotes:
- Acquisition: Guten Tag, Kommandant! My name is Prinz Heinrich, Battlecruiser of the Ironblood. Hey, your port seems big enough to fit a racetrack in!
- Secretary (Idle) 1: It’s so dull and drab here, don’t you wanna cut loose and have fun?
- Secretary (Idle) 2: Heh, I wonder how many other factions have ships that didn’t get built.
- Secretary (Idle) 3: I’ve met the other Prinz Heinrich. I like her a lot, but man, it takes a while to explain things to her.
- Secretary (Touch): Hey, it tickles!!!
- Secretary (Special Touch): Enough! You will treat an Ironblood royal with respect!
- Skill Activation: Time to claim the checkered flag!
- Affinity (Disappointed): If you don’t want to race, then stay off the course!
- Affinity (Stranger): I didn’t have a history, Kommandant. But I don’t care about it. Today, history begins here!
- Affinity (Friendly): When you’re going high speeds, it doesn’t hurt to learn to drift, gotta stay the course, even if you need a little course correct, right?
- Affinity (Like): Whether in battle, out in the open sea or in a grand prix, sometimes you’ve gotta be in it to win it! Hehe, isn’t that right Kommandant?
- Affinity (Love): Life only lasts for a fleeting moment. So why waste time looking to the past and why waste time worrying about the future? As every racer should, seize the moment and live for today, because tomorrow’s another day!
- Oath: I’m glad to hold on to this ring, now come and take my hand, I wanna go drive off into the sunset, just you and me~!
- Sortie (Mackensen): Hey, I’m not joking!
- Sortie (Zeiten): Why do you have to be so cold?
- Sortie (KMS Prinz Heinrich): Woohoo! This is so much fun!!!
- Sortie (Hood): You look so graceful out there on the course, look at you!
- Sortie (Renown and/or Repulse): You two are like birds of a feather, just flocking together~!
- Sortie (Scharnhorst and/or Gneisenau): Nope, don’t look ugly to me!
- Sortie (Alaska): You look like you’re ready to punch someone’s lights out.
- Sortie (Graf Spee): Hey Deutschland, can I keep her?
- Sortie (König): I’ll show you my boat if you show me yours!
Design:
Prinz Heinrich is depicted as a woman in her early twenties with short white hair and bright silver, almost supernaturally glowing, eyes. Her attire borrows greatly in its inspiration from that of the Scharnhorst-class designs (in-reference to the design being used as a base for the later Scharnhorst-class Battlecruisers/Battleships) as well as her in-game namesake. A sleeveless white sweater with a black collar (which contains a pair of gold iron cross pins on each side of the collar) that runs down her torso, with detached white sleeves with black cuffs, also sporting gold iron cross pins). Heinrich wears a white skirt with black trim on the hem that runs down to her lower thighs, with white stockings and gray shoes rounding out the attire.
Heinrich’s rigging is in essence, a larger version of Mackensen’s rigging (in reference to the Ersatz Yorck’s being originally ordered as three Mackensen’s) A pair of lifelike, mechanical fish like rigging, one on each side, and each sporting two pairs of 380mm guns, with secondaries lining the side, all in a gothic-styled architecture.
A/N:
With the release of Tier VII's Prinz Heinrich, that marks the end of the Imperial German phase of Operation Weissenburg, as the next three ships in the tech tree (of which only Tier VIII & X will be covered in upcoming CC's) are, according to Wargaming's Cinematic Universe, designed in 1944, in the tail end of the Nazi era in Germany...
...except not really, as all three ships were actually paper designs developed during the late Imperial era, specifically various battlecruiser draft designs dated to the early spring of 1918. Shoutout to
u/Hamartia_CL08 for doing the historical basis of the PR ships, as he did the basis for the design of one of these BC's, KMS Prinz Rupprecht, who is the Tier IX Tech Tree Battlecruiser. Both KMS Zeiten at Tier VIII and KMS Schlieffen at Tier X also follow this mentality, and I will get to those when we get to their concepts in the coming weeks.
As always, if you want to suggest a ship or retrofit in the future, please leave it in the comments below, you can also reach me via DM's to make your suggestions as well. Now about two years ago, I've covered a Character Concept of ARA General Belgrano, the story of USS Phoenix and her cursed career in Argentina, being on the recieving end as the second post World War warship sunk by a submarine overall and only ship to be sunk by a SSN at that. Well, it's funny how things pan out as we take a look at that self-same sub that fired its torpedoes into history, the third of the Churchill-class SSN's, HMS Conqueror (S48).

AITA for pooping on a hike?
Last weekend my brother (43M) and I (41M) made a date to go to a pub far away (5 miles, but over a big hill). It's something we do every so often in the better weather when he's in the area. We vary pubs, but it's always a nice afternoon that gives us a nice sense of satisfaction when we get to the pub and sit down for a couple of hours to have a few scoops and some scran.
So we leave my house and start heading through the countryside and get to the big hill, which is about halfway. I don't know why, but my wife's chilli often gives me the squirties the next day (I think I might be allergic to pulses) and unfortunately for me, she had made it for us the night before.
As we started heading up the big hill, I could feel that my bowels were not happy, and let my brother know. He didn't really seem to care, kept soldiering on and chatting away about various things. After a few minutes it felt like I was having contractions. I had to stop and hold on to the fence, much to his bemusement.
'I'm going to blow' I said, 'have you got any tissue?'. He said he didn't, he had a hanky, but refused to give it to me. He looked offended that I had even asked, and said I should just hold it in. Time was of the essence, so I hopped over the fence, waddled out of view into the trees and relieved myself. Once I had done my best to clean myself up, I headed back to the path, but my brother wasn't there. I figured he had kept on walking to give me a bit of privacy, so I pushed on up the hill.
When I got to the top he wasn't there, and I couldn't see him ahead on the way down. I gave him a call, and he didn't answer, so I kept walking. Once I got to the pub, he wasn't sat outside, so I went in and again he wasn't there. I started to wonder if he had gone to the other pub in the village, so after doing a bit more cleaning in the toilet, I got a pint and gave him another call. Again no answer. I sent him a message, then called my wife.
She answered, and told me that my brother had just got back to our house. She was gardening, and was confused why he was back. He told her about what happened, and said that he was pissed off I would just poop out in the open (I was concealed by trees). Apparently my wife chewed him out because she knows how much I look forward to our pub trips (and how much her chilli can wreak havoc with me), but he got in his car and left.
I was upset, so told her I would head home once I finished my beer. 15 minutes later, just as I was finishing, she arrived at the pub so that I could still have a few beers, we had some food and she drove us home. I really appreciated her joining me, and promised I would help with the garden the next day.
I didn't message my brother, but he apparently messaged other people as various people in my family including my parents have been in touch since telling me off for pooping in someone's garden (it wasn't anyone's garden, it was public land) and abandoning my brother.
AITA?
Not sure why this got deleted from AITA and AITBF, hardly hardcore?
Also, that wasn't me that posted the link on eFests, that's someone shit stirring. I posted my write up on hobby drama and then on the glastonbury subreddit. I made some corrections based on the discord chat, and now using my lunch to re-up this ffs. I didn't expect it to go down well with either side, I just wanted to write something up for the history books lol.
I'm probably going to stop posting from this account now, probably. It doesn't matter who I am.
And I had done an hellish thing,
And it would work 'em woe:
For all averred, I had killed the bird
That made the breeze to blow.
Ah wretch! said they, the bird to slay,
That made the breeze to blow!

2023.05.31 15:18 Esbirk Breakup advice (M22 F22)
I have recently come out of a relationship with a girl which we broke up due to the fact we are from different religions. We had dated before this relationship from ages 17-19 and we spent around 18 months apart and got back together. During this time we were apart I really wanted to get closure around this relationship as I felt it ended badly when it really didn’t need to. She blanked all of my messages during this time and the only reason we spoke again was because I saw her one day and then she messaged me the following week because she wanted closure. As I’m a person that believes that we should treat others how you would want to be treated ourselves I gave her the chance and she told me the answer as to why she ignored my messages and ended up blocking me. She told me she got in another relationship not long after we had split and the guy was controlling and she wanted to speak to me but he wouldn’t let her. Technically speaking, she was sort of still in this relationship when we got together again which I thought was weird but she said things like I think about you nearly everyday, I don’t want to be with him but he never lets me break up with him etc.
So onto the more recent stint of the relationship. I thought we had a really great time together and I really enjoyed her company and she enjoyed mine. We hardly ever argued and if we did it would be over something really small and we would get over it in a matter of minutes anyway. I’m someone who is a-romantic in essence I’ve always seen my life as doing my own thing, not having children etc but with this girl I really wanted to marry her and have children. I’ve been in relationships before but never really felt this way about a person and I thought she was the same way with me.
We broke up all of a sudden. Throughout the relationship I was getting these ‘prank calls’ from this guy, sometimes like 50 times in a day and mostly during the night. The day we broke up we had a really good day and had made plans for the following week and there were no indicators that she was going to break up with me that day. Whilst we were eating dinner the prank caller called me again but with their number showing. I thought it was going to be her ex and I asked her to check the number in her phone. When she was checking it I saw a really surprised face and then she quickly said no it’s no one on my phone book and closed it before I could see it. When I was driving her home she was looking at the number to see if she recognises it from anywhere and ‘accidentally’ removed it from my call log. I could see in her face that she was contemplating something before she did this as if she was torn by something. She started crying and saying she was sorry but I thought this was really strange because although the calls were affecting my mental health significantly, I was no worse off than I was before they called with their number showing. We then broke up before she went home but she was crying hysterically and she said it’s because of the religion difference and so on. I didn’t really show that much emotion during this because it was running through my mind that she knows who it is that’s been calling me and she felt as though she had to break up with me because of the person calling. Literally a week went by without talking and she messaged me and we sort of got back together in a way but we never officially went into a relationship. We had agreed that the cut off point would be when she went to Mecca on a pilgrimage and I agreed with that. When she was there I didn’t message her because I felt happy that the relationship ended on a good note and we were still on speaking terms but I assumed that we would wish each other happy birthdays and so on or catch up now and again. When she came back it sort of went back to how it was before like talking everyday again but all of a sudden she started becoming blunt with me which I thought was strange. I asked her if everything was okay and she said “I don’t see why we need to still talk at all, we are broken up”. This seemed strange to me because she was the one who initiated contact after we broke up and we aren’t on bad terms or anything. She then blocked me off everything which was again, weird.
Literally, the same weekend I started getting the calls again so I decided to change my number. The only people who had my new number were my immediate family and one very close friend. But this whole thing played on my mind and since my number was no longer blocked I sent her a long message to try and tell her how all of this made me feel. She eventually responded but it was more of like you need to accept that we have broken up rather than explaining why she cut off all contact with me. Shortly after this again I got one call from an no caller id at 1am which tells me that she has some sort of involvement in this whether she realises it or not.
Since I had previously contacted her ex before to confront him about the prank calls (which he denied it was him) I confronted him again as I assumed they had gotten back together. I was shocked to hear from him that he was in a different relationship and that he had moved on from her a while ago. I decided to ask him about what she had said to him about me and he basically said the same things she had said to me about him. That he was forceful, abusive and so on. I felt like asking this would give me closure in a way but instead makes me have more questions about the relationship.
I was thinking to send her a birthday card (in February) and add a note in asking to be able to see her to ask some questions about our relationship. Is this a good idea? I don’t want to seem strange but all of this has made me stay up all night thinking about it and has been this way for a month now

2023.05.31 14:42 MisterDifficult271 Too soon guys: An Obituary.
TL;DR: Talking Heads singer Kurdt “Thomas Yorke” Cobain dead at 27 x 2. New Order, World Peace and his huge songs catalog.
That was originally a comment, but I need to discuss that matter.
TOO SOON GUYS. It’s been decades since then, but it’s still a delicate tragedy what we’re talking about.
OBITUARY: Cocaine dead at 27 x 2 or something. “NIRWANNA” leader Kurdt “Thomas Yorke” Kobain died by suicide by jumping into a pool with lots of cables used to record live covers of songs by the name of said name; in a beach dating program by MTV.
Kurd is survived by Daughter, Mother, Dad (NOT FATHER) and many other family progenitors that nobody really cares about.
More importantly, Kurdt is survived by his four band members; who effective now create the novel band New Order.
Kurdt was the most prolific musician of all time, being the brilliant mind behind all #1 songs, from aliases ranging from Billie Eilish to “Weird Al” Yankovic.
Ah, and he’s the son of Frank Sinatra with Marlon Brando (Who are apparently alive? Based on the information above.)
There will be a tribute concert in the deceased’s birthplace in Compton, CA.
The center of the concert will start in Compton, stretching to the east through all US, crossing the Atlantic and invading Europe; and to the west through the Pacific, capturing all islands, Siberia, China and Indian sub continent. Both fronts will circumvent Earth and join forces in the Middle East, who will now fight over OK Computer x KID A, though the reduction in excess deaths is not confirmed, perhaps even causing more destruction. But don’t worry! No one cares.
South America and Africa won’t participate in the World Tour, as always.
Summing up to an impressive total of 4 billion people (while the other 4 billion wonder what the fuck is happening); the event will be the largest gathering of united fans and bystanders, shaping a new era of world peace, with no more borders and the only currency “Head Coin”, with the legal tender equivalent of one head given.
Confirmed songs include:
-Love Will Tear Us Apart
-Viva La vida
-Supermassive Black Hole
-There Is a Light That Never Goes Out
-Reptilia
-Dramamine/Trailer Trash (they couldn’t pick one)
-Good Morning Captain
-Linger
-Waiting Room
-Never Meant
-Coffee & TV
-Carry the Zero
-In Between Days
-Dig Me Out
-Demons Sing Love Songs
-Pat’s Trick (less known one sure but they love Kurdt’s woman falsetto.)
-Short Skirt/Long Jacket
-Harder. Better. Faster. Jonny.
-Teenage Riot
-Where Is My Mind/Here Comes Your Man/Vamos (Puñeta!)
-Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)
-Needle In the Hay
-Steak and Black Onions
-Cannonball
-Here Comes the Rome Plows
-Nailed to the Blank Spot
-Little Fury Things
-Hooch
-Party Rock Anthem
-AND MAAAAAAAAAAAAAANY MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!
But enough of the brightest future that awaits us. Now ending this obituary:
Kurdt will be always remembered, his weird eye, his crazy kitten smile, the chicken voices in his head.
His wealth will be dedicated to his charity NGO “Jim Morrison Haters for the end of the Noel-Liam Gallagher conflict.”
His remains will be cremated and the ashes scattered over Jim Morrison’s grave.
ETA: Be sure to check my case studies

2023.05.31 02:48 This_Pizza3257 I'm Back
| Finally The Rock has Come Back!!! - YouTube ...at long last. The promised day has arrived. After having spent...(does a quick date check) 1 month and 14 days wandering the wilderness, I have come back to set things right...or at least share what I've learned in my wanderings. A little over a month ago, I had officially quit the subreddit and gave the fandom a break. Volume 9 was still airing and it was around the time of...the episode where Ruby drinks the tea after a breakdown and getting browbeaten by her "friends". I got reeeeeaaaaaallly pissed off at how the subject of mental health and suicide was...well I wouldn't say handled, more like manipulated by a inebriated squid attempting to delicately handle a nuclear rod. Yes, I'm talking about you. Long story short, I...didn't react too well. And by not reacting well, I meant giving characters like Jaune shit for something that the writers clearly forced him to do instead of analyzing and discussing why I felt the plotlines didn't work. So to begin, I firmly apologize if I had upset anybody with my ranting. It's also why I ultimately decided to take a break and...well, figure out what went wrong. So I did some soul searching via watching some movies, a Netflix series, a couple of YouTube videos, and also read some RWBY fanfics. You know, the unofficial pieces of work made by fans who actually do care a lot about the setting and characters. The idea was to rediscover what got me into RWBY in the first place and how things had gone so wrong. Okay, she was part of the reason I got into RWBY. Sue me. But...yeah. What initially got me into RWBY was the idea of over-the-top characters with really awesome designs fighting ferocious monsters in spectacular fight scenes. Granted it wasn't the deepest reason out there, but it was enough to get me interested. And yeah, I will admit the first few seasons did have their flaws here and there. Problems that would continue to plague the series and spiral out of control. The thing is though, while the characters weren't exactly "deep" per say, I could accept the show was just starting out and what we DID see from them hinted at interesting ideas and dynamics just waiting under the surface. Sort of like how the show was initially this light-hearted action series with hints here and there about exploring deeper and more serious concepts down the road. Mainly stuff like the White Fang, the Grimm resurging, things like that. ...and then we actually got to that. When I left, I wanted to know what exactly got under my skin. How exactly did we get specifically to that moment where I just threw my hands up and said "Screw you guys, Imma going home" (I am of course referring to the heroes, not you guys. You guys are awesome). Simple... RWBY got too damn dark. I know that seems like an oversimplification of RWBY's problems, but ultimately everything boils down to the whole series getting meaner, more cynical, and nastier. Characters' flaws ballooned out of proportion and completely subsumed their character. Themes like racism, the rise of fascism, or the aforementioned mental health were handled in the most hate filled way possible. The world just kept getting worse, and things just kept getting darker and darker. Look, I might not be able to handle some pieces of dark media, but even I know they have some kind of purpose. Sometimes to spell out an important message in the most blunt way possible. Maybe the characters were just that fascinating to see them unravel and dig their own graves. But RWBY is supposed to be about hope. The light that shines through the darkness and leads the way to salvation. Except that light keeps getting dimmer and dimmer with each season. It's like the creators are just dangling it right in front of the characters, but every time they reach, they kick them in the face and pull back just a little more. These characters are put through so much crap, become so awful as a result, yet little to no victories are achieved. No meaningful character development. Just...nothing. So my question is...why? If the characters just keep getting worse, what's left? I mean we can't root for them, but the writers also seem obsessed with making the villains ( especially Cinder) as vile as possible so they're not engaging to watch either. In essence, we have a crappy setting, with characters we care about getting dragged through the mud, becoming their own antithesis in the pursuit of "justice", and villains we can't stand cause either they're too vile or too stupid for us to care. And with aaaaaallllllllllll this going on...we're left wondering why the hell we should care. If everybody's an asshole and the world keeps getting worse, what's keeping us from just turning the show off in disgust? Especially since in this cynical day and age, when it seems like we keep getting hit with tragedy after tragedy? I think I'll let a goblin say it better than I ever could. Look, there's nothing wrong with wanting your work to be darker. There's nothing wrong with putting your heroes through the wringer, but unless you've got more of this- https://preview.redd.it/gvqbxrr9u33b1.png?width=1192&format=png&auto=webp&s=6db1e46d7f39f54084fee6f4e3880d38c40ca3fc Then what's the point of slogging through the darkness if we don't care about anything? Cause all I'm seeing is the writers keep proving Salem right if all they're doing is shoving shock value down our throat. Give us a reason to care. That's the light that gets us through the dark. Not the torture porn the writers turned RWBY into. submitted by This_Pizza3257 to RWBYcritics [link] [comments] |

And thanks for the support on my last chapter, your upvotes and comments mean the world to me!
Big thanks to

Descriptions of desecrated bodies (just your ordinary sapient cattle farm) [first] [previous] [next (hopefully out in about a week)]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Memory transcription subject: Oscar Williams, UN Marine Date [standard human time]: December 3, 2136
With the hum of the cars’ engines tapering off, everything turned quiet, far too quiet. The only sound bar my own breathing was the wind making its way through cracks in the building’s metal shell. Gunfire should’ve been raining down on us by now. The building in front of was at least the size of a football field and going by the faint, but disgusting, smell of the poor victims, the place was packed. There was no way only the about two dozen scalies we eliminated worked here.
Where was the fight? Were all of them hiding inside? We couldn’t have gotten all of them before, right? Well, there’s only one way to find out where the fuckers were hiding. Richards lined us up next to the large pair of doors separating us from the farm and a soldier from another squad grabbed a handheld battering ram. I doubted the door would hold after just a few hits with a rock but speed was of the essence. The faster we cleared out the arxur infestation, the more people would survive. I wasn’t about to let anyone else die in that hell. My grip around my rifle tightened and time almost seemed to slow down when the first hit was winded up.
We were quietly signaled to step back from the door and with just one hit with the battering ram the lock was separated from the rest of the door. The force from the hit slammed the door open and we promptly stormed in through the opening. But no gunfire met us. The inside was just as deserted as the outside had been. We had entered what seemed to be some kind of warehouse, large crates strewn throughout the floor and deep freezers lining the walls. At that moment I desperately wished I was a mouth breather. The stench, that had previously been contained by the sheet metal walls, was now flooding into my nostrils. Manure, unwashed bodies, and rotten meat. I tried my best to focus on anything but the freezers but every single wall was covered with them. Wherever my eyes darted, more proof of the murders appeared. A dried splotch of blood, some tufts of fur, a bloody machete.
They took pride in it. Pride in this… They’re going to pay. We crept through the wide open space, making our way from cover to cover. The dirt floor muffled any sound our footsteps would’ve made and we were only exposed for brief moments. If any arxur caught us, we wouldn’t be caught like a deer in headlights. After one of our many rushes between covers, I ended up next to one of the many freezers.
Oh god. My poor nostrils. The smell had grown even stronger and when I glanced at the freezer I quickly realized why. It seemed to have lost power, going by the fact that it wasn't cold, and that the lid was ajar. The remains of a person, a person who had friends and family, were rotting away inside. My knuckles were turning white from how hard I gripped my rifle and my teeth felt like they were going to crack due to my jaw clenching so hard. I was going to repay them in kind. Those motherfuckers, wherever they were.
When I stood up, en route to the next cover, my eyes caught a glimpse of the inside of the freezer. Pieces of mangled body parts filled the bottom of the box and a swarm of insects swarmed around something in the middle and-
Retch Parts of yesterday’s meal filled my mouth when I realized what was hiding under the swarm. A severed venlil head with empty eye sockets stared back at me. Blood had dripped down from the sockets, painting long streaks of orange in the white fur. The head’s mouth was locked in an expression of terror and pain and the neck looked like it had been ripped off from the venlil’s body. Part of the spine hung limp beneath the neck and, knowing arxur, I doubted the venlil had been dead during the ripping.
As soon as I found out where they were- Where the hell were the arxur? Realization suddenly flashed through my mind. Of course those cowards had fled. Fled their just punishment that I had sworn to deliver. My grip around my rifle tightened when I thought about the fuckers running this farm. They’d almost certainly escape justice, and there was in all likelihood nothing I could do about it. If only I could convince Olivia to hunt them down like they deserved.
My train of thought was brought to an abrupt end when we reached the other side of the warehouse. The door on this wall was far smaller, clearly just used by personnel. And it didn’t even have a lock. Maybe they decided to take cover behind this smaller choke point. I immediately squashed the idea in my mind as soon as I thought of it. They weren’t disciplined enough to not rush us with nothing but their natural weaponry.
My theory was quickly being proven true when we rushed into the next room. There wasn’t a single arxur in sight, but the sheer amount of victims more than made up for their absence. We had emerged on some kind of raised walkways, overlooking cramped pits filled with aliens sleeping in the most abhorrent conditions. The air reeked of unwashed bodies, feces, and many other disgusting smells I didn’t even recognize. The victims in the pits looked even worse for wear than the rest of this dilapidated building. Several of the harchen in the closest pit were covered in deep gashes and some even missed entire body parts.
Torture, there was no other explanation. Those fucking crocs. As I looked around at the other pens, it was quickly made evident that the treatment of the harchen was more of a rule than an exception. Over in another pit, several krakotl had been completely plucked, and what I assumed to be words had been branded onto their backs. Despite my deep hatred for most of their governments, I couldn’t find it in myself to be mad at anyone here. They’d more than likely been captured long before they even knew earth was still inhabitable and even if they weren’t, they still didn’t deserve this torture.
This was so much worse than I thought. Of course it would be horrible but this, how- Nausea quickly filled my thoughts and before I could even bend over, today's lunch spilled out of my mouth, and I wasn’t alone. At least a third of my fellow soldiers had the same reaction as me.
Good to know I’m not the only empathetic person here. Maybe they’ll agree that the arxur deserve to be treated like their prey after this. Oh, what I would do if I caught any of them. “HELP!”
The krakotl’s hoarse scream sent a shiver down my spine. It sounded like they hadn’t used their voice for years. I hastily pulled up my bandana and checked that my visor blocked my entire face. I didn’t dare think about what would happen if they realized we were predators.
“P- P- Please help us…”
The screaming had quickly woken up the rest of the aliens who were looking at us with a mix of bewilderment, fear and hope. My eyes darted around the pens while my mind prayed that they wouldn’t land on anyone that recognized our ‘arboreal’ eyes. After what felt like the longest five seconds of my life, I finally allowed myself to breathe a sigh of relief. If no one had fainted yet, they probably didn’t know we were human.
“We’ve come to rescue you, you’re going to get out of here. Just stay calm.”
Richards immediately took command of the situation, preventing widespread panic from the aliens.
“T- T- Thank you… Is the f- f- federation winning?”
The brave krakotl who asked us for help clearly thought we were from the federation and I silently thanked god everyone else seemed to believe the same thing. If they didn’t there would be pandemonium. Those poor souls must’ve seen arxur bloodshed every single day. I could barely imagine how terrified they would be if our identity was revealed. In their eyes we would be nothing but another species of predators and this was the worst possible place to try convincing them we weren’t.
“We’re just going to make sure there are no arxur left in the building, then we’re getting you out of there. We’ll be back before you know it.”
Avoiding the question. I really hoped Richards didn’t tip off the aliens about us there. At least she didn’t deny that we were from the feds. As long as we got out of there as quickly as possible, everything would be fine.
“I- I- saw them leaving. They were a- a- angry, and before they l- l- left they- they…”
The krakotl lifted their wing and shakily pointed towards a dark corner of the room as their voice faltered. Some kind of poles with clumps in the middle filled the corner but any more detail was masked under the veil of darkness. Carefully avoiding looking at the flickering lamps filling the building with light, I turned on my night vision goggles and as soon as my brain registered what it was seeing, I wished that I had been born blind. The poles were wooden stakes and the clumps were the mutilated corpses of a dozen aliens. Deep gashes stretched across their abdomen and their intestines were pouring out of the holes. Not even their heads were spared. They were nigh unrecognizable from blunt force trauma and one of the victims still had the hammer buried in their face. Disgust and rage flared up within me, almost stronger than I’d ever felt before. I wanted to vomit and chop arxur into small pieces at the same time.
Why do they fucking exist? Why the fuck do I have to fucking see this. How can someone… do something like this? And why did we let them escape? Wait, the faster I clear this building, the faster we can hunt them down. “You’re safe now, we’re getting you off this planet. Squad, we’re make sure there are no arxur left on the premises.”
Sergeant Richards’ command immediately pushed me to act. While about half our our force moved to clear out the rest of the building, my squad rushed for the back door at the other end of the cattle pens. We quickly made our way outside into a large yard, the dirt ground stretching several dozen meters from the building before slowly morphing into a field. In the distance, several large piles of timber were piled high next to a large, deforested area. The only feasible place for the arxur to hide on this side of the compound was the shack that stood at the edge of the yard. In contrast to the concentration camp, this building actually looked relatively structurally sound. Thick concrete walls, a door made of something other than sheet metal, and a roof with only a few visible holes. That was incredibly impressive for an arxur.
Just gotta check this shack, then we can start chasing the fuckers. Following Richards’ directions, we quickly began making our way towards the building. Reminding myself there was no time to spare, I sprinted ahead of the others and squeezed through the slightly ajar door. A loud slam emanated from behind me as the door shut behind me and I emerged into something that almost looked like living quarters. Several bedrolls were laid out on the ground, piles of equipment were scattered across the floor, and a large scaly repti-
SHIT SHIT SHIT! They hadn’t left. Those fuckers just laid in ambush, waiting for me to let my guard down. Its hideous body sat on one of the bedrolls, radiating bloodlust. I could feel its eyes bore deep into my soul, sending an involuntary shudder down my spine. Every single part of it was tailor made to kill, and nothing else. It could easily rip off my limbs with its massive claws, and then chop them into tiny pieces with its razor sharp teeth if I was careless.
Can’t be careless then. That fucker isn’t going to walk out of here alive. If I’m going down, it’s going down with me. I instinctively threw myself to the ground, raising my rifle to take out my target. My rifle was aimed directly at the
unarmed creature’s head, through the
chain-link fence sectioning off the arxur from me. Just before I pulled the trigger, my brain connected the contradictory information, stopping me from firing from sheer bewilderment.
Why the fuck did that thing not have a weapon? And why were they in some kind of improvised prison? “Hey! Oscar, the door’s locked. What’s your status?”
David’s voice and a loud banging on the door I just passed through snapped me back to reality. I was locked away from my squad in a room full of arxur. The same species that fucking impailed a dozen people out there. And here they were, right in front of me, behind a chain-link fence. Red flashed before my eyes as I realized what was happening.
They were trying to fool us. And those morons thought I wouldn't notice. They put up that barbed wire, trying to exploit our empathy. We’d try to imprison them, and then they’d strike. And they would have succeeded, had I not been alone. I slowly stood back up, and shuffled backwards until I stood flush against some kind of railing. The multiple arxur that were hiding behind the chain-link looked at me with unreadable expressions but I could noticeably see their eyes widen as I raised my rifle.
Finally realizing the jig is up? They were going to pay for for the people they fucking impailed, for the venlil whose head they fucking ripped of, and for the fucking cradle. All I had to do was tell the white lie that they attacked me and open fire. Then my squad wouldn’t be murdered and justice would finally be served. The arxur remained quiet as mice as I prepared to enact justice, probably in shock from their stupid ploy being seen through. I was eternally thankful that they were so stupid. The anger that had filled my entire system slowly melted away, being replaced by satisfaction at their imminent demise. Right as I was about to press down on the trigger one of the arxur began speaking but as I looked for the culprit I saw that all their mouths were shut. The voice was high pitched, almost childlike, and it echoed from… below.
What the- Wait, why's there a hole behind the railing? “Hi, what are you? You look really cool!”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is Oscar being a bit delusional? Should he analyze the situation a bit more objectively? Possibly, but where's the fun in having completely sane characters.
Anyways, the two protagonists are about to meet. Will said meeting remain entirely civil or will Oscar "accidentally" drop a grenade into the pit? We'll find out next time.

Unscored Each class has a gimmick-or "specialization"-that unlocks as you progress through the game. The Barbarian, for instance, can lug around a huge arsenal of weapons and gains "expertise" with each as you use them, granting buffs and special effects. The Necromancer can choose between different types of minions or sacrifice them to extract their power. The Rogue has three specialization options, one of which is a WoW-like combo-points system. Every class has its own personality and quirks, and they're all a blast to play.
CGMagazine - Brendan Frye - 10 / 10
Diablo IV's dark allure combines ingenious design choices to create an extraordinary Diablo that we couldn't have dreamed possible back in 1997.
Checkpoint Gaming - Elliot Attard - Unscored
Whilst Diablo IV could have done more to advance the genre or perfect its writing and tone across the entire experience, there’s no denying just how impactful this release is, especially for those of us who grew up alongside the series.
ComicBook.com - Adam Barnhardt - 4.5 / 5
Diablo 4 is perfect for both franchise mainstays and newcomers alike. The lore of Sanctuary expands drastically while the game, story and all, is large enough to keep new players busy. The game is built to allow the developers to scale it with ease with battle passes and seasons for a new generation, but it's nowhere close to being empty.
Console Creatures - David Pietrangelo - Recommended
Diablo 4 is an impressive and massive conquest of demons, loot, exploration, and wildly fun mechanics. It's already clear that this game brings tons of new content to the franchise and handles it incredibly well.
Destructoid - Timothy Monbleau - 8 / 10
Impressive efforts with a few noticeable problems holding them back. Won't astound everyone, but is worth your time and cash.
Dexerto - Sam Smith - 5 / 5
Diablo 4 is a mighty sequel, but it can feel more like a grand buffet of tasty demon-slaying treats. It offers something for everyone but misses out on that acquired yet curated taste of the older entries. This doesn't take away from Diablo 4 representing the next evolution in the series. It is a stellar sequel – and one that works hard to appeal to every fan of this beloved franchise.
DualShockers - Emma Ward - 8.5 / 10
Your favorite Action Role Playing Game is back and bloodier than ever. Diablo 4 improves upon nearly every core gameplay mechanic from Diablo 3 while introducing a few great quality-of-life features that make this journey to Sanctuary the best yet. While some of the quest systems seem dated, the main story is delivered beautifully, breathing new life into the series.
Everyeye.it - Antonello Gaeta - Italian - 8.5 / 10
Diablo 4 is a canvas on which developers could, over the next few months, paint a true masterpiece.
Fextralife - Fexelea - 9.3 / 10
Diablo 4 is an excellent game and a fantastic next step for the ARPG genre. Smartly melding Open World and Online elements with traditional dungeon crawling and loot farming, this game will become the favorite time-sink of millions for years to come.
GAMES.CH - Steffen Haubner - German - 89%
The irresistible gloom is now no longer opposed by hurdles in the form of confusing item and skill management. We enthusiastically throw ourselves against Lilith's hordes and once again sink hour after hour into perfecting our character. Overall, however, there could have been a bit more innovation.
GGRecon - Joshua Boyles - 4.5 / 5
Diablo 4 has taken everything that fans love about the ARPG format and elevated it to new heights. With a fascinating world to explore, a strong cast of characters, and purposeful combat, it sets a new standard for the genre.
The wheel hasn’t been reinvented, and is remains to be seen how the series will adapt to a live service model. Nevertheless, anyone picking up Diablo 4 at launch will find themselves playing a very strong package with plenty of promise.
GRYOnline.pl - Hubert Sosnowski - Polish - 9 / 10
What are we getting? An excellent game that reeks of a game-as-a-service, with tons of satisfying content. Diablo 4 looks like the best hack’n’slash on the market. The best h’n’s for me, a guy well versed in three previous Diablos, Divine Divinity and a bit of Grim Dawn.
Game Informer - Marcus Stewart - Unscored
While it remains to be seen how the experience handles the incoming flood of players once the lights are turned on, I think Diablo fans, old and new, are in for a treat.
GamePro - Kevin Itzinger - German - 94 / 100
With Diablo 4, Blizzard has created a genre masterpiece that does almost everything right.
GameSpot - Alessandro Barbosa - 8 / 10
Diablo IV's surprisingly moving and engrossing story encapsulates gameplay systems that have learnt all the right lessons from entries past.
Gameblog - French - 8 / 10
Diablo 4 is extremely generous. A clear evolution of the franchise and a real comeback.
Gamer Guides - Nathan Garvin - 8.5 / 10
With a compelling new antagonist, a serviceable, character-driven story, and a familiarly satisfying gameplay loop with an incredible amount of depth, Diablo 4 is a worthy entry into the franchise that threatens to burn away many hours of your life.
GamesHub - Emily Spindler - 4 / 5
Diablo 4 is a behemoth of a game, boasting a gothic world that goes beyond the engaging hack-and-slash gameplay loop.
GamesRadar+ - Josh West - 5 / 5
"After sacrificing nearly 100 hours of my life to Diablo 4, I've barely scratched the surface of what it has to offer"
GamingTrend - Cassie Peterson, Ron Burke - 100 / 100
Diablo IV represents a massive shift for the series, moving to a more inclusive and open world that is somehow as inviting for new players as returning veterans. Complexity is mixed with flexibility to create a game that is sure to consume you for hundreds if not thousands of hours. Diablo IV is the game we've been waiting for, and a return to form for the Blizzard team.
Geek Culture - Jake Su - 8.6 / 10
The worry remaining is that the balance needs to be struck well in order to maintain Diablo IV as a viable and long-lasting adventure that doesn’t lose its freshness or that the incessant rush to get more powerful gear becomes a chore rather than a thrill. At this juncture, there’s much for players both old and new to dive into, making combat and exploration exciting times, all while pushing the story forward in a new chapter for Sanctuary. The hope is that this will last, and that Blizzard will continue to support the game in all ways. After all, Lilith is coming, and all hail the Mother.
God is a Geek - Mick Fraser - 9 / 10
Diablo 4 may not be the huge leap forward some were hoping for, but it still offers an incredible adventure through a dark, compelling world.
Hardcore Gamer - Chris Shive - 4.5 / 5
Based on the franchise's history, Diablo IV has large boots to fill, but does an admiral job of meeting this longtime fan's expectations.
IGN - Travis Northup - 9 / 10
Diablo 4 is a stunning sequel with near perfect endgame and progression design that makes it absolutely excruciating to put down.
IGN Spain - Álex Pareja - Spanish - 9 / 10
Diablo IV is tremendously addictive, its combat is formidable and the character building is excellent. More MMO than ever in a new path for the saga.
INVEN - Jaihoon Jeong - Korean - 9 / 10
While the fusion of Diablo franchise and the open world sounded rather unfamiliar at first, the game has succeeded in capturing the charm of both. You can't say the game is perfect as of its initial release, Diablo4 still is one of the strongest quarter view action RPGs.
Kakuchopurei - Jonathan Leo - 90 / 100
[Diablo 4] looks and feels great to play, it's full of content without being way too overburdened with systems and age-old mechanics, it's accessible but also gets really hard and challenging for action RPG standards, and it's really great with more people in your party, with a good amount of classes to play around with and tailor to your playstyle. A highly-polished loot-filled gateway drug for newbies and veterans alike; not terribly innovative but incredibly fun to get into.
LevelUp - Luis Sánchez - Spanish - 7 / 10
Diablo IV remained stuck in the past while trying to find innovation without generating friction with fans who have played the franchise for over two decades; It feels like the ghost of Diablo Immortal continues to haunt the halls of Blizzard. The game is more of a reinvention of the classic experience, focusing on a games-as-a-service format to ensure another decade of content for Diablo.
Marooners' Rock - Andrew Peggs - 9.2 / 10
Diablo IV has done a good job of delivering an exciting and enjoyable storyline and providing hours of exciting entertainment, whether playing alone or with companions.
Merlin'in Kazanı - Samet Basri Taşlı - Turkish - 90 / 100
Diablo IV has successfully brought everything we wished to be in the 3rd game and has the potential to be the best game in the series.
Multiplayer First - Vitor Braz - 9.5 / 10
Do yourself a favor: ditch your reservations and step into Sanctuary as soon as you can. It’s likely going to be literal hell during the launch queues, but you’ll have a beautifully grim and visceral adventure ahead, one where every leveling up sound will feel like music to your ears. Enjoy it to the best of your possibilities because an action-RPG of this caliber may only arrive in another decade or so, and missing out on Diablo 4 would be something that may just reserve you a spot in hell.
Niche Gamer - Jonathan White - 9 / 10
It ain’t perfect, but provided they continue the course Diablo IV is currently on, this might be the game that bridges the gap and makes Diablo the most accessible and ultimately the most fun it has ever been to players from any background.
Oyungezer Online - Can Arabacı - Turkish - 9.5 / 10
Diablo IV is definitely one of the best games Blizzard has ever made. And possibly the best story they've ever told.
PC Gamer - Tyler Colp - Unscored
An exciting, modern version of Diablo is in here—I can see parts of it poking through the surface—but I'm starting to lose patience waiting for it to show its face.
PCGamesN - Lauren Bergin - 10 / 10
Diablo 4 embodies the essence of what makes Diablo so great, taking the best elements of its predecessors and sewing them together to create an ever-changing, ever-evolving chimera that we can't wait to play for years to come.

Diablo IV is, without a doubt, a great success that takes the best of its previous iterations, especially Diablo II, and takes advantage of the potential of an intense open world. With mechanics refined for today, hundreds of hours of gameplay, and the promise of an aggressive post-launch content, this game is the ultimate in the eternal battle between evil and… the other party.
PlayStation Universe - Neil Bolt - 8 / 10
Diablo IV takes the series to new heights, but also spends plenty of time covering familar ground. The compelling rush for loot is as strong as it has ever been, and visually, the game is spectacular. It doesn't exactly feel like a massive leap from Diablo III yet its focus on the series' core strengths ensures that's likely more than enough for long-time fans.
Polygon - Alexis Ong - Unscored
More busywork doesn’t lessen the series-signature lootfest appeal
Press Start - Harry Kalogirou - 9 / 10
Diablo IV is an unquestionable win for Blizzard and one of their foundational franchises when it needed it most. An unrelenting commitment to vision, redefined Sanctuary, never-ending player progression, and excellent boss fights are just a few of the reasons Diablo IV isn't held back by uneven pacing and recycled content.
Prima Games - Daphne Fama - 9 / 10
Diablo IV is a game with a deeply involved combat system, a complex and well-established world, and all the hallmarks of my next gaming obsession.
Pure Xbox - Liam Doolan - 9 / 10
You can see why it's taken Blizzard over six years to get this one out the gate when you look at the end product. Diablo 4 is a natural evolution of the series with its new open-world design and gameplay, enhanced social and multiplayer experience, and a live service that promises to keep players returning to the world of Sanctuary for years to come. These strong foundations and scale of the whole experience, combined with the five unique classes and seemingly limitless customisation options for builds, should keep even the most diehard demon slayers busy for a very long time. With all of this in consideration, Diablo 4 is a must-play if you're a veteran of the series and it's a great starting point for newcomers. We can't wait to jump back in! Now, fingers crossed we just don't have another 'Error 37' at launch.
Push Square - Khayl Adam - 9 / 10
Diablo 4 is the true successor to the bad old days of action RPGs and oozes quality in its frenetic combat and deep, engaging character development. It tells a complex, gritty narrative set in the darkly beautiful world of Sanctuary. Even better, it provides a solid foundation for years of Diablo content to come.
Rectify Gaming - Rebecca Ellis - 9.5 / 10
Diablo IV will usher a new generation of action RPGs into the modern era with its brilliance.
Rock, Paper, Shotgun - Alice Bell - Unscored
Diablo IV is a beautiful, frictionless grey toybox that puts nothing in the way of you playing it for hours and wondering what you've done with your life.
SIFTER - Adam Christou - Worth your time
Diablo IV offers a strong opening impression. It has a rich, detailed story campaign, filled with spectacle and gore. Its combat and game-feel is so satisfying. The classes feel distinct and play quite differently from each other. It feels so good to burst down screens of demons with spells and swords. Will it live up to other competitors in the ARPG space? It’s too soon to tell, but what’s here so far is extremely promising especially for players looking to enjoy an impressive horror story.
Saudi Gamer - Arabic - 8 / 10
So far, the Diablo 4 experience has been nothing short of very good, the story has been very interesting and it finally returns to what distinguished the series in terms of storytelling before the release of the third installment. The game offered a very solid base of content, activities, addictive gameplay, and a variety of character-building ways that any Action RPG should offer. This is knowing that there are some important issues that appeared at the beginning of the experiment as we mentioned in the full review.
Screen Rant - Carrie Lambertsen - 4.5 / 5
Ultimately, Diablo 4 is a must-play experience for any fan of dungeon-crawler ARPGs.
Seasoned Gaming - Ainsley Bowden - 9.5 / 10
Diablo 4 is a masterpiece. It's the culmination of decades of ARPG refinement and evolution, and it manages to pay homage to the IP's legendary namesake while successfully integrating modern RPG elements.
Shacknews - Josh Broadwell - 8 / 10
Blizzard opts for refinement over innovation with Diablo 4, but it's still a devilishly good time.
Siliconera - Kazuma Hashimoto - 8 / 10
Diablo IV features a compelling antagonist in Lilith, and while it tries to present more interesting ideas into the series by the way of story, it ends up retreading old ground in more ways than one.
Sirus Gaming - Kimberly Mae Go - 9 / 10
Diablo 4 presents an epic and visually stunning adventure, enveloping players in a cinematic journey through its immersive open-world. While some areas, like repetitive dungeons and class imbalances, leave room for improvement; Blizzard has laid a solid groundwork that sparks excitement for further exploration of the vast realm of Sanctuary.
Spaziogames - Marcello Paolillo - Italian - Unscored
Diablo IV is a smooth-running action RPG with a beautiful gothic atmosphere and a fascinating open world, aimed even at those who have never touched a chapter of the Blizzard franchise before.
TechRaptor - Austin Suther - 9.5 / 10
Diablo IV might just go down as one of Blizzard's best games. It delivers exciting and accessible ARPG gameplay, a stunning world and engaging narrative to experience, and so many activities to keep you hooked for hours on end.
TrueGaming - Arabic - 9 / 10
Diablo IV brings you a captivating story, a lot of freedom in your class building and a massive world full of monsters to pulverize and dungeons to explore that will keep you playing for lots of hours to come.
Twinfinite - Zhiqing Wan - 4.5 / 5
An incredible looter experience overall. I cannot overstate just how satisfying it is to play Diablo IV on a moment-to-moment basis, and with so much replay value to be had from its various classes and build possibilities within those classes, Diablo IV feels like a true return to form for the series.
VG247 - Connor Makar - 4 / 5
It's a damn good entry to the series as a whole, and will give the vast majority of its players a bloody good time.
Wccftech - Alessio Palumbo - 8.5 / 10
Diablo IV is a return to form at a much needed time for Blizzard. It delivers incredibly fun hack and slash action combat, a greatly improved skill system, and a ton of things to do, not to mention the best story told in the franchise yet. It also looks awesome, sounds great, and runs well (except for rare instances of traversal stuttering).
We Got This Covered - David Morgan - 4.5 / 5
Diablo IV tows several lines masterfully, be it in its mechanical complexity or the moral ambiguity of its plot. Its greatest achievement, however, is being a great Diablo game.
WellPlayed - Ash Wayling - 8.5 / 10
Diablo IV is a must-play for fans of the series and newcomers alike. It invites you to lose yourself in a world of darkness and embark on a thrilling journey filled with relentless battles, captivating storytelling, and a hauntingly beautiful audio-visual symphony. Just ignore the extraneous limb reaching for your wallet.

Diablo IV boasts a new look, with its new open-world and online format, but at its heart, it’s very much a classic Diablo experience. A little old-school still, sure, but the core combat is still as fun and addictive as ever, and there’s RPG mechanics for days to sink your teeth into. What’s not to love?
XboxEra - Jesse Norris - 9.5 / 10
Diablo IV is a triumph. It fulfills its promise, combining the aesthetics and feeling of Diablo II with the fantastic gameplay of III. It is dark and gory, featuring a meaty campaign and endgame that should delight fans of the series for hundreds if not thousands of hours.
ZTGD - Terrence Johnson - 9.5 / 10
Diablo 4 is a massive game dropping in a year chock FULL of massive games. 2023 has already seen Nintendo’s behemoth drop by way of Tears of the Kingdom which has been dominating charts and peoples’ times. Now Diablo 4 is going to come bursting in and demanding that same type of time commitment with a sprawling game world to explore on foot or horseback. Between dungeons, world events, side quests and even the main quests players will never be too far from something interesting to inspect or kill in Sanctuary. Diablo 4 feels like a wonderful homecoming, with its darker tone and sublime cutscenes which Blizzard has always been wonderful at; the whole game just feels like a love letter to us fans who have waited so long to return to Hell and defeat its denizens once more.

| To serve is to sacrifice! Game Title: Diablo IV - Xbox Series X/S (Jun 6, 2023) - early access available June 1
- Xbox One (Jun 6, 2023) - early access available June 1
Trailers: Developer: Blizzard Entertainment Publisher: Blizzard Entertainment Review Aggregator: OpenCritic - 89 average - 100% recommended - 49 reviews Critic Reviews Ars Technica - Aaron Zimmerman - Unscored Each class has a gimmick-or "specialization"-that unlocks as you progress through the game. CGMagazine - Brendan Frye - 10 / 10 Diablo IV's dark allure combines ingenious design choices to create an extraordinary Diablo that we couldn't have dreamed possible back in 1997. Checkpoint Gaming - Elliot Attard - Unscored Whilst Diablo IV could have done more to advance the genre or perfect its writing and tone across the entire experience, there’s no denying just how impactful this release is, especially for those of us who grew up alongside the series. ComicBook.com - Adam Barnhardt - 4.5 / 5 Diablo 4 is perfect for both franchise mainstays and newcomers alike. The lore of Sanctuary expands drastically while the game, story and all, is large enough to keep new players busy. The game is built to allow the developers to scale it with ease with battle passes and seasons for a new generation, but it's nowhere close to being empty. Console Creatures - David Pietrangelo - Recommended Diablo 4 is an impressive and massive conquest of demons, loot, exploration, and wildly fun mechanics. It's already clear that this game brings tons of new content to the franchise and handles it incredibly well. Dexerto - Sam Smith - 5 / 5 Diablo 4 is a mighty sequel, but it can feel more like a grand buffet of tasty demon-slaying treats. It offers something for everyone but misses out on that acquired yet curated taste of the older entries. This doesn't take away from Diablo 4 representing the next evolution in the series. It is a stellar sequel – and one that works hard to appeal to every fan of this beloved franchise. Everyeye.it - Antonello Gaeta - Italian - 8.5 / 10 Diablo 4 is a canvas on which developers could, over the next few months, paint a true masterpiece. Fextralife - Fexelea - 9.3 / 10 Diablo 4 is an excellent game and a fantastic next step for the ARPG genre. Smartly melding Open World and Online elements with traditional dungeon crawling and loot farming, this game will become the favorite time-sink of millions for years to come. GGRecon - Joshua Boyles - 4.5 / 5 Diablo 4 has taken everything that fans love about the ARPG format and elevated it to new heights. GamePro - Kevin Itzinger - German - 94 / 100 With Diablo 4, Blizzard has created a genre masterpiece that does almost everything right. GameSpot - Alessandro Barbosa - 8 / 10 Diablo IV's surprisingly moving and engrossing story encapsulates gameplay systems that have learnt all the right lessons from entries past. Gameblog - French - 8 / 10 Diablo 4 is extremely generous. A clear evolution of the franchise and a real comeback. Gamer Guides - Nathan Garvin - 8.5 / 10 With a compelling new antagonist, a serviceable, character-driven story, and a familiarly satisfying gameplay loop with an incredible amount of depth, Diablo 4 is a worthy entry into the franchise that threatens to burn away many hours of your life. GamesHub - Emily Spindler - 4 / 5 Diablo 4 is a behemoth of a game, boasting a gothic world that goes beyond the engaging hack-and-slash gameplay loop. GamesRadar+ - Josh West - 5 / 5 "After sacrificing nearly 100 hours of my life to Diablo 4, I've barely scratched the surface of what it has to offer" GamingTrend - Cassie Peterson, Ron Burke - 100 / 100 Diablo IV represents a massive shift for the series, moving to a more inclusive and open world that is somehow as inviting for new players as returning veterans. Complexity is mixed with flexibility to create a game that is sure to consume you for hundreds if not thousands of hours. Diablo IV is the game we've been waiting for, and a return to form for the Blizzard team. Geek Culture - Jake Su - 8.6 / 10 The worry remaining is that the balance needs to be struck well in order to maintain Diablo IV as a viable and long-lasting adventure that doesn’t lose its freshness or that the incessant rush to get more powerful gear becomes a chore rather than a thrill. Hardcore Gamer - Chris Shive - 4.5 / 5 Based on the franchise's history, Diablo IV has large boots to fill, but does an admiral job of meeting this longtime fan's expectations. IGN - Travis Northup - 9 / 10 Diablo 4 is a stunning sequel with near perfect endgame and progression design that makes it absolutely excruciating to put down. INVEN - Jaihoon Jeong - Korean - 9 / 10 While the fusion of Diablo franchise and the open world sounded rather unfamiliar at first, the game has succeeded in capturing the charm of both. You can't say the game is perfect as of its initial release, Diablo4 still is one of the strongest quarter view action RPGs. Kakuchopurei - Jonathan Leo - 90 / 100 [Diablo 4] looks and feels great to play, it's full of content without being way too overburdened with systems and age-old mechanics, it's accessible but also gets really hard and challenging for action RPG standards, and it's really great with more people in your party, with a good amount of classes to play around with and tailor to your playstyle. A highly-polished loot-filled gateway drug for newbies and veterans alike; not terribly innovative but incredibly fun to get into. Merlin'in Kazanı - Samet Basri Taşlı - Turkish - 90 / 100 Diablo IV has successfully brought everything we wished to be in the 3rd game and has the potential to be the best game in the series. Multiplayer First - Vitor Braz - 9.5 / 10 Do yourself a favor: ditch your reservations and step into Sanctuary as soon as you can. Niche Gamer - Jonathan White - 9 / 10 It ain’t perfect, but provided they continue the course Diablo IV is currently on, this might be the game that bridges the gap and makes Diablo the most accessible and ultimately the most fun it has ever been to players from any background. Oyungezer Online - Can Arabacı - Turkish - 9.5 / 10 Diablo IV is definitely one of the best games Blizzard has ever made. And possibly the best story they've ever told. PCGamesN - Lauren Bergin - 10 / 10 Diablo 4 embodies the essence of what makes Diablo so great, taking the best elements of its predecessors and sewing them together to create an ever-changing, ever-evolving chimera that we can't wait to play for years to come. 2023.05.30 16:39 fruitypebbles79 [TX] FMLA EEOC Question
This is a long story, so I will condense it. I have been out on intermittent FMLA at a Texas employer since Jan of 23. I found out on April 14th of 2023, while still on intermittent FMLA that doesn't end until May 22, that I am being reassigned to a different job for which I have no qualifications or experience. They actually had to create a totally different job description and qualifications from the approved templates so they could fit me into this role. It will not have the same job duties by any means and will have much less flexibility for work-life balance than my current role. I was the only one moved in the entire company. And again, I am not qualified. The trick is, my current job is actually being given to someone else. So, it's not going away. It's going to a different department because my supervisor's supervisor wants more leadership with it.
So in essence, I am just being separated from my job. They are also hiding behind the idea that this is a business move because they also need a person to fill the role in the department I am being reassigned to. The problem with that is, if you go to the org chart of our company, there is no vacancy for this position that I am being moved to, while other, much more suitable to my qualifications, jobs are not filled on this org chart and are open. The org chart is dated with the last update of 4/13 at 6pm. Literally 14 hours before I was told of this move.Lastly, and probably the most crappy, is that my supervisor's supervisor initiated my reassignment with HR on March 6th of this year. I was not informed of this move.
Meanwhile, the department I am/was currently working for was taking applications and interviewing candidates for a very similar job to mine in my department from the first of March all the way through April 4th. When asked why I was not able to apply for that very similar job in my department and why I wasn't notified of my job being reassigned earlier so I could do that, I was told I wouldn't be a good fit in that role. My reassignment was approved by HR two days after we hired for the position in our department. Now, there are other issues in this whole story. Its very complicated. I have filed with the EEOC and they moved fast on some Title IX issues I was involved in as a protected witness and have approved mediation for this with my employer. My employer has yet to respond.
I have contacted the DOL on this FMLA alleged violation and they have moved pretty fast too with gathering all my evidence, and the investigator even called this "shady" behavior. But I am still waiting on both investigations to conclude.
My question, do I have a case in this FMLA issue of being reassigned? I have recorded conversations with my supervisor's supervisor when she reassigned me and with my HR rep afterward who approved it. I knew I should record these because nothing ever good has come of any meeting with them for anyone else when they went through issues. The HR rep acknowledges this job is not even close to being identical for my current job in duties on this recording among other things. My supervisor's supervisor acknowledges that she is moving my job duties to someone else on this tape and that I was not a good fit for the other job in my department that has the same duties as me essentially that we hired for before I found out about all this. So, thoughts?

2023.05.30 16:30 Memento-Mori-357 Kitchen Remodel & Paying Off A High Interest Loan - Wheres Does The cash Go?
Hey all! I have a question on how to properly use a cash windfall im about to get from my job.
Based on the projected market growth for the rest of the month, I will have a net windfall of roughly $20k coming to me in the shape of selling company stock units. Normally, i'd budget that $ to continue to make sure I have 3-6 months of expenses saved up, maybe buy something little thats nice, and invest the rest in an IRA or my personal portfolio account.
I need to determine the best route for this $20k. For context, here are 2 places I can put the $
- In 2020 I had a housing issue where I needed to immediately replace my siding. Not having liquid $23k at the time, I caved to the only financing option at my disposal at the time which was 9.99% through the contractor. I planned on paying it off MUCH earlier than its maturity date. As of this posting I owe roughly $18k on it
- My kitchen cabinets are literally falling off the wall. They are from the early 90's, and we noticed most of the cabinets are barely installed into studs. They were slapped up, and when we bought the house, GLUED up in the failing areas to sell the house. One fell off the wall and nearly killed my son. So we HAVE to replace them asap. We are pricing out an ikea cabinet, and are getting estimates for about $15k for the kitchen, counters & installation.
My initial thought was to pay cash for the kitchen. However, the siding loan is my highest interest loan with the 9.99, with my second highest being 4.9 for my camper, otherwise I have no other interest bearing debt (0% on my truck and 0% on my HVAC system).
After some more thought, im thinking of paying off the entirety of the siding which ultimately may save me roughly $11-12k in interest over the remaining 8 years of the loan, and using the Ikea PROJECT card that will give 0% interest for 2 years. In essence, using "their money" to fund my kitchen remodel and cutting the interest off the siding loan with a net return of about $11-12k.
Thoughts?
EDIT: For clarity, its not a kitchen "remodel" its just replacing existing cabinetry & counters with new ones. Im not ripping down walls, doing new lighting, and vanity work. Just necessary stuff. Old ones are falling off the wall, 35 years old and counters (laminate) are dissolving. We've lost a good amount of storage, and some are safety issues. Also not looking for a full financial deep dive, I have a budget, investment plans, etc, just looking to see how you'd use the $.

2023.05.30 16:19 BusinessWes [Online][5E][ET][UTC-4] "The Stranger'' Cosmic Horror Campaign Seeking Players. High production value. Professionally Streamed & Recorded. (Post 3/4)
Original post: https://www.reddit.com/lfg/comments/13gfsqa/online5eetutc4_the_stranger_cosmic_horro (graciously reviewed and approved by the subreddit mods)
This is Post (3/4), we're posting this four weeks in a row before making final picks. Preface This is a long post - crazy long even. That's because we care so much to find those just as impassioned as we are about this amazing hobby. We love high quality D&D campaigns, and we believe it takes effort and time to make it happen. If you take the effort to get through learning about us in this post, reading every word with care and interest, we will do the same with your application. World Preface In the enchanted realm of Avarra, where high magic weaves its intricate web through the fabric of existence, a burgeoning form of sorcery takes root. Secluded on the island city of Crowperch, the pursuit and mastery of void magic are richly rewarded, enticing arcanists from the farthest reaches of the world to unravel its mysteries. Yet, the enigmatic allure of Crowperch extends beyond the arcane; a diverse tapestry of industry, history, and craftsmanship entwines the island's very essence.
Beneath the surface, the island's riches reveal themselves: the mines and quarries, abundant with untapped potential, and the surrounding seas, offering bounties from the ocean's depths. Ancient archaeological sites whisper secrets of bygone eras, while artisans ply their remarkable skills on the bustling city streets. Tales of a long-forgotten, rumored treasure continue to captivate the imaginations of adventurers and sightseers alike.
But one must pay a steep price for this wealth of opportunity and intrigue. It is wise to avert one's gaze from the iron grip of autocratic rule and the unyielding scrutiny that looms over the island's denizens. For those who venture to Crowperch, a single obligation remains: seek your heart's desire, and then depart – for the island's enigmatic embrace is not meant to last forever.
Application Overview In this sacred fellowship, we stand steadfast in the face of the dreaded D&D group killers. Our commitment to this game is unwavering, for it is not just a hobby, but a way of life - an appointment that must be kept at all costs. For us, the work does not end with character creation or worldbuilding. Nay, we strive for a deep understanding of each character, for their hopes and dreams, their fears and flaws, so that we may weave a complex and enthralling campaign that will leave you breathless. We implore you, dear adventurer, to show up regularly and with a burning passion in your heart. Let your excitement be infectious, let your dedication be unwavering.

Campaign Preface As twilight descended upon the restless sea, the ancient ship, Her Royal Rose, creaked under the weight of its cargo. Its passengers, a motley assortment of scholars, fisherman, guard and others with business on the island of Crowperch, sit tightly in cramped quarters. Even as the tempestuous winds moaned through crevasse and open windows, the opportunities and tasks that beckon them to the island keep them going, a siren's call that drowned out the ocean's roar.
The skies above were an oppressive tapestry of writhing clouds, their tendrils suffocating the last vestiges of daylight as if to obscure the path to the island. A shroud of mist swallowed the horizon, leaving the ship to navigate through a nebulous labyrinth, its destination only guaranteed by Captain Alaric Thorne.
As Her Royal Rose inched closer to Sove, the air grew heavy with mist and sea salt which deposited itself gradually on the railings, sails and masts. Little Henry Williams, the ship's messenger runs throughout the halls pattering on each door, "The captain has an announcement, all to the deck. The captain has an announcement, all to the deck." The clacking of his wooden foot pattering one after another with each step, a disfigurement he earned while working aboard Her Royal Rose.
Captain Alaric Thorne stood on the deck, the salty wind tugging at his weathered features. His voice rang out, its timbre heavy with authority and unease, as he addressed the gathered passengers.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I must bring to your attention an unfortunate turn of events. It seems the Saturation has arrived earlier than anticipated this year. As many of you know, this phenomenon causes an unnaturally heavy accumulation of salt in the air, resulting in deposits that weigh down our vessel."
He paused, letting the gravity of the situation settle upon his passengers before continuing, "This unexpected occurrence has forced us to halt our usual schedule, for the safety of both the ship and her passengers. Once Her Royal Rose arrives, she will remain anchored at Sove until the Saturation clears, as navigating these treacherous waters under such conditions would be inviting disaster."
A murmur of concern rippled through the crowd, many who were on this voyage planned their departure prior to The Saturation. The captain raised his hand to quell their rising unease. "I understand this may cause you some inconvenience, but I assure you, we will resume our journey as soon as it is safe to do so. In the meantime, you may continue your research, tasks and exploration on the island. Sove is well stocked and very hospitable to travelers especially those displaced during our seasonal shifts."
With that, Captain Thorne turned away, leaving the passengers to ponder the implications of his words as the first tendrils of salt-laden mist began to coil around the ship, heralding the arrival of the Saturation.
In the dimly lit corners of their minds, the passengers could sense a truth they dared not confront: Their voyage to Crowperch was going to be a lot longer than they had hoped. As the ship drew nearer to the island, the shadows beneath the spires of the fortress atop the mountain loomed over the ship, casting a shadow over what little moonlight illuminated the darkness.
Technology - D&D Beyond: We own ALL books on D&D Beyond, and all of them will be at your disposal for your campaign.
- Owlbear Rodeo 2.0: This new VTT is extremely promising, and has the customization ability for us to do VERY interesting unique things. We're switching here from Roll20.
- Discord: Voice chat & messenger for our campaigns. Video is required, however is not recorded. Offline RP included!
- Obsidian: How players track the world's expanding lore, and how we the DM's keep track of things. You don't have to use this, but it's a highly recommended tool for note taking.
- Recorded Sessions: Sessions will be recorded, edited and posted online. Proceeds from monetization will be used to level up our recording, roleplaying, technology and setup, get commissions, maps and such. Players will not be paid for participation, however this is possible for the future if we grow. Sessions are recorded using OBS.
Monetization So we are still small, so monetization isn’t at the top of our list. That said, our goal is to
- Play Excellent D&D
- Donate to charity
- Re-invest to make better content and
- Compensate players to allow them to play more D&D.
How specifically that all happens is still obscured by the mists of time. By participating in this campaign players release all intellectual property created for the campaign to Roll for Impact and related brands. Please note that this is meaningless while we're still small, but consider this hopeful thinking for our success. The next campaign is getting SO much effort, so we want to stay safe.
Campaign Rules - Backstory: Crafting a compelling backstory for your character is essential for a great adventure. By providing a reason for your character to be adventuring with others and offering plot hooks for the DM to work with. Rather than focusing on build concepts, take this opportunity to create a real, relatable character. Who knows what unexpected twists and turns your backstory might bring to the campaign? So, let's get to writing - your character's fate is in your hands!
- Stats: Ah, stats - the bread and butter of any adventurer's character sheet. But let's face it, nobody likes a Mary Sue or a Jim The Commoner. That's why we're going to be rolling 4d6 drop the lowest, but with a twist! Each player will only generate one stat, which will then be compiled into one array for everyone to use. That way, you still get the fun of rolling, but we won't have any lopsided parties where one person is carrying the whole team. Because let's be real, nobody wants to be stuck playing the equivalent of a wet noodle while someone else is shooting laser beams out of their eyes. So, roll those dice and let fate decide your fate!
- Starting Level: Starting our campaign at level 3 makes sense because many classes get their major features at level 3, avoiding the issue of players missing out on the fun stuff. This also prevents weird mid-game transformations that can come from certain builds and allows for multiclass combos right out of the gate. So, let's start the adventure with confidence and balance, knowing that we've got all the good stuff from the get-go!
Homebrew - Free Feat: We're giving you an extra feat at first level, but with a catch - it must tie into your backstory or character design in a compelling way. By doing this, we hope to reduce the cookie-cutter nature of low level characters and encourage backstory development. Rather than just taking a feat because you need it, we want you to create a unique and interesting character from the get-go. So, let's spice things up and see what kind of story you can bring to the table!
- Healing Potions: Get the max benefit as an action, or use a bonus action to get the rolled benefit.
- Flanking: Flanking now grants a +2 to hit instead of advantage, and you can't flank someone if you're being flanked yourself. But that's not all - if three or more combatants are flanking a single enemy, that enemy is officially Surrounded, and you get a +5 to melee weapon attacks. So, let's get out there and show those enemies what it means to be surrounded by a bunch of hyped-up adventurers! (But remember, enemies get the same benefit too.)
- Zero HP & Exhaustion: Everyone takes the homebrew feat Battle Fatigue. This homebrew rule makes repeated downs more punishing on players in a campaign. You may be downed (Con Modifier) times before receiving one point of exhaustion. Each time this ticker fills up, reset it and add one point of exhaustion.
- Starting Common Magic Item: At first level, all characters get a common magic item of their choice. Similar to feats, this must be related to your backstory.
- Dual Wielding: RAW, DW doesn't allow you to add the modifier to the attack, so we add the modifier to the roll like a normal roll. You still get a weaker weapon, but now at least you get to get more power from the attack.
- Resurrection: (Modified Critical Role Rules) Resurrection isn't easy, folks - you'll need to pass a DC of 10 just to be brought back. But that's just the beginning. The party can all contribute to aiding in your resurrection with multiple ability checks, and even sacrifices in the deceased's name. The Dungeon Master determines the DC for each check and makes a final resurrection roll to see if the ritual is successful. The DC for this final roll depends on how many times the character has been resurrected before and how successful the contributions were. So, bring your A-game (and maybe a goat or two) if you want to make it back from the great beyond. Each resurrection adds +5 to the DC, before party contributed modifiers.
- Death Saving Throws: These are rolled privately to the DM.
- Slow Natural Healing: Characters don't regain hit points at the end of a long rest. Instead, a character can spend Hit Dice to heal at the end of a long rest, just as with a short rest. A long rest allows the use of up to half of your total Hit Dice, +1 for sleeping somewhere comfortable, +1 for having a meal/ ration. Order: The character regains half their hit dice, then they can spend their hit dice to recover hit points.
- Silvery barbs: Silvery barbs is a second level spell.
Table Homebrew - Turn Time Limits: We're keeping things moving with turn time limits, folks. Pay attention on other player's turns and avoid flipping through your PHB or counting dice ad nauseam. Exceptions are made for new players or chaotic combat, but we want you to look up spells and rules off-turn whenever possible. Slow combat leads to mental check-outs and boredom, so let's keep things snappy. If your turn takes too long, someone else will jump in front of you. It's like musical chairs, but with spells and swords instead.
- New Homebrew: If you've got some hot new content you want to play with, I'm your guy. Just slide into my DMs and let me take a look. Now, I'm not saying I'm gonna approve everything - I mean, some of you are out here trying to create a race of sentient cheese wheels (looking at you, Matt) - but I'll do my best to give you clear, concise well informed ruling on it.
Scheduling - Session Length: ~7 Hours
- Scheduling Firm Up: Sessions are scheduled concretely, but we will firm up every 4 weeks on the next month's schedule for conflicts. Exceptions are always made for life events or serious circumstances. Life happens, and we understand that sometimes we or you may need to cancel. This is always fine, provided it is not regularly occurring. Our schedules are made every 4 weeks in advance. If your game days are always difficult to schedule, this may not be the campaign for you. In regards to scheduling, you must be able to open a clear line of communication between the DM throughout the week, in case of any emergency schedule changes or conflicts. If you are a hard person to get in touch with every week, again, this may not be the campaign or group for you.
Session Structure - Start: Everyone arrives to the table and calls in on Discord. Players should also take this time to open up all the required programs and have all their materials ready. We also suggest getting some snacks here too! Bonus points for a tasty beer as well!
- Recap & Warmup (30 min): After arriving and having all our materials prepared, we begin our first activity of the session: Player Recaps! We will do this every single week, and it should be a great tool for getting insight into each character’s head and getting us caught up. We may play warm up games, and roleplay challenges.
- Session (2.5 hours): Well, this is of course where the magic happens! We roll dice, we laugh, the DM laughs, the dice laugh, the dice are mimics, oh no…
- Break (30 min): These breaks do not include bio breaks or your need to use the restroom. If you ever need to run to the bathroom or refill your glass real quick, you’re good!
- Session Continued (2.5 hours): We’ll carry on through the second part of the session!
- Session Recap (30 min): We'll discuss what happened during the session, as well as what we plan to do next session, while we finalize session notes.
Playstyle - Roleplay: Get ready for some serious roleplaying, folks, because that's what we're all about. We're looking at a 70/30 split of roleplay to combat, maybe even heavier on the roleplay. It's all about immersing ourselves in the world of Avarra and telling a great story together. Sure, there may be some deviations depending on the scenarios and encounters, but we're here to communicate and engage with each other and the world on a deeper level. So, let's put on our acting hats and dive headfirst into the magical realm of Avarra.
- Hyper immersion: We're not just here to hack and slash our way through this world - we're here to really get into the nitty-gritty details. I'm talking about the flavors in each mug of ale or wine at the local tavern (because let's be real, nobody likes a bland drink), cooking around the campfire under a tree during a cool and rainy night, and even delving into the plot of that book you just picked up on your way out of town. And let's not forget about forming real relationships with your fellow characters. After all, who wants to adventure with a bunch of strangers? We're here to create meaningful connections and really bring this world to life. And to all you hack-and-slashers out there - sorry, but this might not be the group for you.
- Note Taking: The pen is mightier than the sword! And let me tell you, if you want to get the most out of Avarra, it's better to be a note taker. Especially in this next campaign! We're talking about a world that's drenched in complexity and nuance, from the setting to the story to the characters that inhabit it. And let's not forget about those intricate and subtle webs that outline the machinations of the antagonists. Oh yeah, we're going deep. But here's the deal - nothing is handed to you on a silver platter in this campaign. You're gonna have to work for it. That means constantly paying attention, working with each other, and using those note-taking skills to uncover all the hidden secrets this world has to offer. And who knows, maybe you'll even uncover some secrets about your fellow adventurers along the way. (Hey, it's possible, right?) So grab your pens, folks, because we've got a lot of worldbuilding to do.
- Teamwork: teamwork makes the dream work! We're not just a bunch of individual characters running around doing our own thing - we're building a story together that encompasses every player and character. This isn't just your story, and it's not just the DM's story. This is OUR story, and we're all playing a crucial role in it. That means you need to be a team player and work together to overcome the challenges ahead. Trust me, you're gonna need each other to survive this campaign. And hey, who knows - maybe you'll even make some lifelong friends along the way.
- Immersion: If you can be in character, you should be in character! Roleplaying is all about improv, saying yes, and going with the flow. And let's be real, the best roleplay experiences can't happen if people are constantly breaking character for no reason. I mean, that's just not good improv, folks. So, here's the deal - we expect our players to remain in character as often as possible at the table. This is theater, after all, and we need to act like we're on stage. So let's embrace our inner thespians, folks, and get ready to bring this story to life like never before.
- Rules and Terms & Conditions: Excluding homebrew, the overall rules of “gameplay” are pretty standard and in accordance with RAW.
- Milestone Leveling: You'll level up according to the story. This means that we can focus less on the grind and more on a steady progression as the story builds. And let's be real, who wants to spend all their time grinding anyway? (Not me, that's for sure. #worldbuilding).
- Table Etiquette: Be willing to listen to others and grow. I mean, let's be real - part of growing close to others and forming real relationships is learning that you can't just have carbon copies of yourself. And let's face it, none of us are perfect. So, here's the deal - emotions might flare up, idiosyncrasies might arise, and sometimes, there might be a little friction. But that's all part of being human, folks. And to be a truly good friend and player, you must always be willing to listen to your peers and adapt accordingly. I mean, that's just part of being an adult. And who knows - maybe you'll learn a thing or two about yourself along the way. (Or maybe you'll just learn that you're really bad at listening. Either way, it's a learning experience.) So let's embrace our humanity, folks, and get ready to form some real relationships at this table.
- Communication: Poor scheduling and bad communication are like the kryptonite of D&D campaigns. And we don't want any kryptonite around here, do we? (No, we do not.) So, if you're part of this group, that means you've gotta keep those communication lines open. If you're someone who likes to manipulate your availability or you're just plain untrustworthy when it comes to communication, well, let's just say that you'll be removed faster than a married paladin in a brothel. (Okay, maybe that's not the best analogy, but you get the idea.)
- Showtime: Alright folks, it's time to shine! When we all arrive at the table, it's like the lights come on and the show begins! I mean, we take a lot of pride and care with our performance here, and we treat it like real theater most of the time. (No, we don't have an intermission or a concession stand, but we're working on it.) It's okay if you're not the best voice actor or you don't have a Shakespearean-level monologue prepared. (Although if you do, please share. We're always looking for some high-quality entertainment.) What matters to us is that you tried and put in the effort. Because at the end of the day, that's what makes this campaign special - the effort and enthusiasm that we all bring to the table.
- Pay attention: When someone's consistently getting distracted it's easy to derail the immersion and fun, it's like throwing a wrench in the whole machine. And let me tell you, it's not a fun sound. That's why we have specific policies in place to make sure everyone's time and effort is being respected. And listen, we all get it - sometimes the outside world can be pretty darn distracting. (Have you seen TikTok lately? It's a black hole, I tell ya.) But here's the deal - we hold each other accountable for paying attention and staying focused, because we all want to have a good time and make the most of this campaign.
- Spotlight: Do you find yourself hogging the spotlight/air every session? Are you someone who constantly talks over others? Are you selfish about the story and really only care about where your character is going every episode? Are you hoarding all the gold and being a murder hobo? This group isn’t for you.
What We Expect & Ask of You - As the Dungeon Master, I want to make it clear that we're not just looking for players - we're looking for friends. Our aim is to build real, lasting friendships through this game. We've been playing together for a while and plan on playing for even longer. As we add more people to our community, we hope to grow together as a team!
- We don't want any satellite players here. We want active members who will contribute to the group beyond just showing up and playing.
- Honesty is crucial to us. We demand that everyone in our group has integrity not only for us, but for themselves as well. Whether it's scheduling conflicts, personal issues, or anything in between, we want friends who will be honest with each other. As the saying goes, "If you don't heal your wounds, you end up bleeding on others you might care for."
- Players are here to play, not watch. We want everyone at the table to engage with the world, the DM, and their fellow players. If you're taking up a seat at this table, you must actively participate in the story every session. You cannot sit back and listen to it.
- This campaign is meant to be challenging. It's supposed to be deep, confusing, and enthralling around every corner. There are no billboards telling you where to go next, no tutorials, and no easy modes. The intricate web being spun by the many powers of this story and world will take all of your combined minds to figure out. Our group wants a game that keeps us on our toes, so if you think you can just "fight" your way to victory, you'll be dead by morning light.
- Lastly, we love theory crafting. We want everyone to give their input and help us figure out the best moves for the group. Part of being an active player here is contributing to the campaign and helping us navigate this crazy world. So let's get ready to play and work together to make this an unforgettable campaign!
Timeline: - Stage 2 Interviews: 5/29/23-6/22/23
- Public Applications Close: 6/12/23
- Stage 3 Interviews: 6/23/23-7/1/23
- Final Picks: 7/15/23 (or as soon as possible)
- Campaign Start Date: 8/5/23 or 8/6/23
I realize this might seem like a very intensive process, however we're being very thorough. Because we have gotten so many excellent applicants, we are going to have no choice but to make some hard decisions.
Picks: - 1 Full-time Player
- 5-6 Guest Players; These will play notable NPC/PCs for dedicated sections or arcs. Arcs will be designed with YOU in mind. We might expand this list depending on how this goes with the first few people, and how many sessions it takes to close out an arc.
- (Maybe) some Alt/Guest DMs; These will voice one or more characters, recurring antagonists, etc.
Are you a dungeon master? Making campaigns like these is our passion. We love going HIGH production value, HIGH quality. If this is something that you love too and you want to dungeon master in our world, we would LOVE to talk to you. As you can tell from this post, there's not enough dungeon masters out there doing this (clearly way overboard) level of effort. submitted by

2023.05.30 15:15 RAF_Fortis_one Battle Of Britain Scenarios?
Now that the Battle Of Normandy map is out, Why hasn't any of the big servers included a Battle Of Britain scenario? All of the essential Planes are in the game. I think this would be a pretty even and fun matchup. Especially with the Radio Towers and Spotting mechanics to give the RAF a bit on an edge. Some of the exact model service dates would be pushing it, but I think the essence is there.
BF-109 E7 BF-110 E2 Stuka HE-111 JU-88 MC-202 Hurricane Spitfire Mk.V ( Mark 5 was used very late, but it is not that different from MK.2) P-40 (Probably pushing it, but was received at the very end of the BOB, never saw combat during.)

10 / 10 Diablo IV's dark allure combines ingenious design choices to create an extraordinary Diablo that we couldn't have dreamed possible back in 1997.
GameSpew - Richard Seagrave - 10 / 10
We had high expectations for Diablo 4, and we’re so happy to say that Blizzard has smashed them. This is a title that takes Diablo 3’s meaningful quality-of-life improvements and expands upon them with aplomb, while also bringing back the much-loved look and feel of Diablo 2. All the while, it’s not too focused on the past, taking the series into open world territory and making it more story-led than ever before. And what a story it tells: we never expected to be so invested. But more importantly, we can’t wait to start a new character and jump once again into the endgame. Diablo 4 is devilishly good – the best Diablo game yet, in fact – and it only stands to get better.
PCGamesN - Lauren Bergin - 10 / 10
Diablo 4 embodies the essence of what makes Diablo so great, taking the best elements of its predecessors and sewing them together to create an ever-changing, ever-evolving chimera that we can't wait to play for years to come.
VGC - Jordan Middler - 5 / 5
Diablo 4's always-online requirement is a shame, and a few of the classes are somewhat slow to kick into high gear, but we're only able to muster minor complaints for what is easily a game-of-the-year frontrunner, and Blizzard’s best game since Diablo 3.
VideoGamer - Ford James - 10 / 10
Diablo 4 feels like the apex of the series, bringing together everything great about the previous entries. It isn't without its minor flaws, and the success of the endgame content is still up in the air, but for once Diablo has a gripping story, phenomenal graphics, and a gameplay loop that doesn't innovate too much but is certainly better than its predecessor.
Windows Central - Jez Corden - 5 / 5
Simply put, Diablo 4 may be Blizzard's best-ever game, and that's a really tough legacy to live up to. Immaculate storytelling meets stunning art, polished, bug-free gameplay, atop endlessly customizable combat with the promise of dozens, maybe hundreds of hours of content — Diablo 4 might be Blizzard's most important, pivotal game since World of Warcraft. Do yourself a favor and go in completely blind. Even if you're not a typical fan of isometric action RPGs, I'm confident that you won't be disappointed.
Oyungezer Online - Can Arabacı - Turkish - 9.5 / 10
Diablo IV is definitely one of the best games Blizzard has ever made. And possibly the best story they've ever told.
Rectify Gaming - Rebecca Ellis - 9.5 / 10
Diablo IV will usher a new generation of action RPGs into the modern era with its brilliance.
TechRaptor - Austin Suther - 9.5 / 10
Diablo IV might just go down as one of Blizzard's best games. It delivers exciting and accessible ARPG gameplay, a stunning world and engaging narrative to experience, and so many activities to keep you hooked for hours on end.
COGconnected - Mark Steighner - 94 / 100
Diablo IV is the true successor to the second game, returning the franchise to its dark, gothic roots with a wild, operatic narrative and bold characters. Gameplay is as addictive as ever, and the sprawling campaign is only the start of a massive amount of content to experience. While Blizzard keeps nudging Diablo’s design towards MMORPG-style multiplayer and co-op, there’s no lack of fun for solo players, even if some bosses are better with friends. With off-the-charts production values and compelling characters and combat, Diablo IV is just about as good as the genre can get.
GamePro - Kevin Itzinger - German - 94 / 100
With Diablo 4, Blizzard has created a genre masterpiece that does almost everything right.
Marooners' Rock - Andrew Peggs - 9.2 / 10
Diablo IV has done a good job of delivering an exciting and enjoyable storyline and providing hours of exciting entertainment, whether playing alone or with companions.
Forbes - Paul Tassi - 9 / 10
Though in theory, an “endgame” playthrough of Diablo 4 is probably 100-200 hours across a larger span of classes, I feel like I can judge what I’ve seen. My impressions are overwhelmingly positive based on what I’ve experienced so far, from the map to the gameplay to the new systems to even the story, which I was not expecting. Blizzard really seems like they’ve nailed this, and I’m going to say the only way this will be poorly received at launch is if technical issues kill people’s ability to play. But once it gets rolling? Yes, I think you’re going to like Diablo 4.
Game Rant - Shane Robert Moyer - 4.5 / 5
Blizzard has taken twenty years of game design lessons and put all of them into Diablo 4. The variety of things to do in the game and the plethora of build choices feel like they come from a company that has experienced the highest highs and lowest lows in game development and taken some of those hard-learned lessons to heart. There is a lot of love built into every aspect of Diablo 4, and users will find it in every system and corner of Sanctuary. With the first simultaneous release on PC and consoles in the series' history, Diablo players are finally getting back into the fight between Heaven and Hell, and they will more than likely still be fighting for many years to come.
Hobby Consolas - David Rodriguez - Spanish - 90 / 100
Diablo 4 is the triumphant return of the saga. The game manages to bring back the dark style of Diablo II while boasting a good narrative, gameplay as addictive as ever and some interesting novelties. It only remains to be seen how Blizzard will keep the game, but we can say that the time-eater has returned in style.
Merlin'in Kazanı - Samet Basri Taşlı - Turkish - 90 / 100
Diablo IV has successfully brought everything we wished to be in the 3rd game and has the potential to be the best game in the series.
Niche Gamer - Jonathan White - 9 / 10
It ain’t perfect, but provided they continue the course Diablo IV is currently on, this might be the game that bridges the gap and makes Diablo the most accessible and ultimately the most fun it has ever been to players from any background.
Screen Rant - Carrie Lambertsen - 4.5 / 5
Ultimately, Diablo 4 is a must-play experience for any fan of dungeon-crawler ARPGs.
We Got This Covered - David Morgan - 4.5 / 5
Diablo IV tows several lines masterfully, be it in its mechanical complexity or the moral ambiguity of its plot. Its greatest achievement, however, is being a great Diablo game.
PSX Brasil - Paulo Roberto Montanaro - Portuguese - 85 / 100
Diablo IV is, without a doubt, a great success that takes the best of its previous iterations, especially Diablo II, and takes advantage of the potential of an intense open world. With mechanics refined for today, hundreds of hours of gameplay, and the promise of an aggressive post-launch content, this game is the ultimate in the eternal battle between evil and… the other party.
Xbox Achievements - Dan Webb - 85%
Diablo IV boasts a new look, with its new open-world and online format, but at its heart, it’s very much a classic Diablo experience. A little old-school still, sure, but the core combat is still as fun and addictive as ever, and there’s RPG mechanics for days to sink your teeth into. What’s not to love?
Destructoid - Timothy Monbleau - 8 / 10
Impressive efforts with a few noticeable problems holding them back. Won't astound everyone, but is worth your time and cash.
Digital Trends - Gabriel Moss - 4 / 5
Diablo 4's wealth of loot and meaningful customization systems make up for most of its frustrating MMO concessions.
GamesHub - Emily Spindler - 4 / 5
Diablo 4 is a behemoth of a game, boasting a gothic world that goes beyond the engaging hack-and-slash gameplay loop.
VG247 - Connor Makar - 4 / 5
It's a damn good entry to the series as a whole, and will give the vast majority of its players a bloody good time.
Ars Technica - Aaron Zimmerman - Unscored
Each class has a gimmick-or "specialization"-that unlocks as you progress through the game.
Checkpoint Gaming - Elliot Attard - Unscored
Whilst Diablo IV could have done more to advance the genre or perfect its writing and tone across the entire experience, there’s no denying just how impactful this release is, especially for those of us who grew up alongside the series.
Console Creatures - David Pietrangelo - Recommended
Diablo 4 is an impressive and massive conquest of demons, loot, exploration, and wildly fun mechanics. It's already clear that this game brings tons of new content to the franchise and handles it incredibly well.
Game Informer - Marcus Stewart - Unscored
While it remains to be seen how the experience handles the incoming flood of players once the lights are turned on, I think Diablo fans, old and new, are in for a treat.
PC Gamer - Tyler Colp - Unscored
An exciting, modern version of Diablo is in here—I can see parts of it poking through the surface—but I'm starting to lose patience waiting for it to show its face.
Polygon - Alexis Ong - Unscored
More busywork doesn’t lessen the series-signature lootfest appeal

2023.05.30 12:36 FZNNeko Most Efficient Kuva Farm?
Ik, the questions been asked so many times before but all those posts were atleast a year ago. Just wanted to see whats most up to date farm. This is naturally including booster (resource drop chance as well for arbitration) so divide everything by 2 if no booster.
The 3 main options I see atm, are Kuva Survival, Arbitration, and Kuva Disruption/Survival with Requiem relics. Please include actual numbers like overall kuva per hour or steel essence/vitus essence per hour and best mission type for arbitration. And for requiem fissures, do u recommend using plat to buy a whole bunch of relics or hope you get lucky while killing liches and farm a bunch of those before opening?

2023.05.30 08:30 sunnydevelopers What Is Rera & Why Is It Important To Opt For Rera Registered Upcoming Residential Projects In Mulund?
A regulatory authority is essentially a watchdog organization that looks after a particular industry of business. The purpose of such associations is to ensure fair and fluid practices on each end and strive for a win-win situation for all the stakeholders. The Reserve Bank of India regulates the banking system in India. The stock exchange is monitored by the Securities and Exchange Board of India. The insurance industry in India is administered by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India. Similarly, the real estate market in India is regulated by Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, introduced the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Authority, which aims to safeguard homebuyers while simultaneously boosting real estate investments. The Parliament of India Act bill was enacted by the Upper House (Rajya Sabha) on March 10, 2016. On May 1, 2016, The RERA Act went into effect. Initially, only 52 of the 92 sections in the Act were notified. All of the remaining provisions went into effect on May 1, 2017. There has been a need for a proper regulator in the real estate sector for a long time, and The Act established a Real Estate Regulatory Authority in each state and union territory (like Chandigarh, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands). The State governments are required to establish rules to carry out the provisions of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, within six months of the Act's commencement date, according to Section 84 of the Act. To avoid delays, the authority has been instructed to process applications within a maximum of 60 days. However, this time limit may be extended only if a justification for the delay is established. Its responsibilities include safeguarding stakeholders' interests, collecting data in a specified repository, and establishing an effective grievance redressal procedure. In essence, RERA ensures security, transparency, fairness, quality, and authorization in the real estate industry. Property buyers are a group of stakeholders of the real estate industry under the protection of The RERA Act. Hence, If you are looking forward to making a purchase of residential flats in Mulund, it is imperative for you to ensure it is certified by RERA. How does RERA affect the buyers of new residential projects in Mulund? An essential point to remember while looking around for residential flats in Mulund is registration with RERA. According to the Central Act, every real estate project (where the total area to be developed exceeds 500 sq. meter or more than 8 flats planned to be constructed in any phase) must be registered with its respective state's RERA. The existing projects which have not secured a completion certificate (CC) or an occupancy certificate (OC) must also comply with the Act's registration criteria. Promoters are needed to provide comprehensive information about the project when applying for registration, such as land status, promoter data, approvals, completion timetable, and so on. A project can only be promoted after registration is complete and all other permissions (construction-related) are in place. The Act specifies a standard model sale agreement that promoters and homebuyers must adopt. Typically, promoters use penal provisions against property buyers that penalize them for any default, while the promoter faces little or no punishment for similar failures. Such penalty clauses have become obsolete, and homebuyers can anticipate more balanced agreements in the future to invest in upcoming residential projects in Mulund. The homebuyers looking for new residential projects in Mulund will be able to track the development of a project on the RERA website after implementation of this Act since promoters will be compelled to make periodic submissions to the regulator regarding the project's progress. There is no waiting period for upcoming residential projects in Mulund beyond the promised possession date. Not being able to acquire possession of properties from the builder is a strict red flag and such situations are always under the influence of RERA. Developers who violate the delivery deadline will have to pay an appropriate amount of compensation or interest to home buyers. There also exists a possibility of imprisonment up to three years. One of the primary reasons for project delays was that the funds raised for one project were invariably redirected to fund new, unrelated ventures. This is not the case anymore. Promoters are now required to accumulate 70% of all project receivables in a separate reserve account to prevent such a diversion. The funds in such an account can only be used for land and construction costs, and it must be certified by a professional. The mechanism by which a developer calculated the price of a project was not defined prior to RERA. However, with RERA, a uniform formula for estimating carpet area has been established. In this approach, promoters will be unable to provide exaggerated carpet areas in order to raise pricing. Such a regulation creates a very safe environment for the home buyers for residential flats in Mulund. Many developers promote their projects by unethical marketing practices, pitching exaggerated amenities and making bogus promises. However, regarding the new residential projects in Mulund, The RERA Act ensures that each promotional guarantee includes the RERA registration number, and all the claims and advertisements are totally truthful and free of any deceptive promises. RERA is thus a step in reforming India's real estate sector, encouraging greater transparency, citizen customer orientation, accountability, and financial discipline. Harnessing the protection of RERA's regulation make the property investors of upcoming residential projects in Mulund immune to malpractices in the real estate sector. "How could this happen to me? I made my mistakes, got nowhere to run..." - Simple Plan
We return to
DRAMA! I hope you enjoy.
Warning: the horny is present in this chapter.

Memory Transcription Subject:
Odin, Failed Communicator Date[Standardized Human time]: December 11, 2136 ... ... How could this happen to me? Not only did I manage to clam up and tell two lies and a truth, rather than two truths and a lie, but my shot at confessing to Yalga had missed.
I had aimed my shot. I took time to steel my nerves. I made my body language very obvious to her, showing her that I was about to reveal something. I balled myself up and looked her in the eyes, giving her as much of a passionate gaze as I could. I then said it with honesty, laying it out as plain and simply as possible to ensure my chances of hitting...
...and it MISSED!!!
How?! How did I miss such a well prepared and precisely aimed shot?!
...
Okay, maybe it's not just me. Maybe Yalga just... wasn't expecting me to be so blunt about it. I hit the ball too hard, in essence. That's fine. I just need to be a bit more subtle next time.
"Hey, ya alraight?"
I turned around to see Rokkan looking at me. He had a mouth deformity, most likely related to his old home life, that distorted his voice. For some reason the "accent" that he had gained was very similar to one of many human accents, and they gave him a hat that was stereotypical of the culture that accent was from.
Why do they call it a ten gallon hat? It's nowhere near big enough to hold ten gallons of... what even is a
gallon anyway? "Yeah, just, uhhh..." I struggled to form a proper response.
"Ya look laike ya've been in quaite the awkward susheation." He spoke.
"That's exactly what I have just gone through." I replied rather bluntly.
"Here you go." I heard a familiar voice say behind me.
It wasn't familiar in a good way. I turned around to see Baroz holding out a packet of paper. It looked like it was a hand drawn "magazine". It's quality seemed to be surprisingly high.
"I promise that there is no really bad stuff in there. I tried to make it as positive and healthy as possible."
My curiosity go the better of me as I grabbed the paper and skimmed through the pages. I completely ignored the pictures and focused on the dialogue. It seemed like this was a scene between a genuinely loving and wholesome couple.
"Waoh, haow did ya draw so well?" I heard Rokkan say as he looked over my shoulder.
"When you whitness the beauty that I have, it will burn itself in your memory." Baroz spoke.
There is only one way to react to this. I reached for the No-Horny Bat.
"No, Wait! Please-"

Odin is such a precious boy. The ladies are going to love him when he grows up. That thought reminded me of a rumor going around the troop. Apparently I was being
shipped by some of the hatchlings.
Specifically, they were trying to pair me up with Oros.
It made sense in hindsight. I was the first human they ever met, Oros was their official caretaker, and we were of opposite genders.
I, however, wasn't exactly interested in arxur. I'm just not that type of gal.
I
do know that there are people that would swing that way, and I was tempted to join the hatchlings to that end, but I restrained myself.
I was a captain. I need to be at least somewhat professional. The jungle heat was getting to me though. I was sweating like crazy as of late. I need a more open set of clothes.
...
I wonder what's going on in Oros' head. He's been quite still for a while now, and he's been right next to me this whole time. He's also red all over.

2023.05.29 23:13 Sir-Pinball_Wizard I think my friend used to like me, but I’m uncertain of how I feel. What should I do?
When I first met my friend, who is also an INTP like me, there was an initial spark and I might have even had some feelings for her. However, as I got to know her better, I realized that we wouldn't have been compatible. She had a strong fear of rejection and preferred dropping hints instead of being straightforward. It turned out that she actually had stronger feelings for me than I did for her.
She made efforts to spend time with me, taking me out to eat and going on what felt like unofficial dates. I even met her parents at a concert, and she admitted to having a crush on me. At one point, she even said she loved me before abruptly hanging up on a call. But despite her affection, she would get incredibly jealous whenever I talked about other women or interacted with them. Her reaction to jealousy was to become quiet and passive-aggressive, which made me feel intimidated.
Although it was flattering to know that she liked me so much, she wasn't really my type. Strangely though, I started finding her sexually attractive, although I often snapped out of it and realized it was more of a fantasy than a genuine desire. I was unsure about what I wanted, and uncertainty usually meant that it was a no for me.
I've had my fair share of experiences in life, including heartbreak, being the one to break hearts, feeling nostalgia, and facing rejections. These ups and downs have shaped me as a person, and I'm grateful for them. My friend has also faced her own challenges, although it's subjective whether she has been through worse or not. While I had to mature quickly and rely on myself, she seems to have struggled to grow from her past experiences. She finds it difficult to trust people and doesn't actively engage with others.
In essence, I am an INTP who has embraced my negative aspects and turned them into strengths, while my friend still has some personal growth to work on. Everyone needs experiences to grow, but not everyone perseveres. My friend often comes across as angsty and self-loathing, expressing self-consciousness about her image and how social media glorifies certain body types. She casually mentioned her struggles, such as ending it all, and I assured her that I would always be there for her as a friend and care about her well-being.
I believe my friend gets jealous and upset about many things I say, but she never wants to discuss how it makes her feel. She expects me to know that she likes me, and I partly blame myself for sensing her feelings without fully understanding my own. She has a tendency to date other guys and try to make me jealous because she's used to guys always making the first move on her. It seems like she doesn't want to be just friends anymore or doesn't have the energy for our friendship. If we had pursued a romantic relationship, her communication style would have likely been frustrating.
Interestingly, it seems like she has found someone who genuinely loves her, the guy who was third-wheeling us. But it feels like she no longer wants to maintain our friendship. If her intention was to be my friend only because she liked me, then it seems petty that she got upset when things didn't go her way and moved on. Perhaps it's for the best that I didn't ask her out, considering her challenging communication style.
She conveniently informed me that the guy who was third-wheeling us didn't want to be with her anymore because of their positions as president and assistant manager or something like that, and he didn't want people at our school to know they were dating. Frankly, it sounds incredibly silly to me. We're not in high school anymore. I'm 20, and my friend and the guy are 19 and 18, respectively.
So after all that unfolded, I was on a phone call with my friend, talking about whatever as usual, until she decided to invite this dude into the call. This guy then starts talking to me about what’s going on in his life, so I respectfully listened and gave my opinions and whatnot. Later, I find out that they were both going on dates with other people, and both told me and each other. The third-wheeler guy had a date with another girl, and my friend was going on a date with someone else. I was utterly confused and felt like this situation was giving off red flag vibes. However, I didn't say anything at the time due to the sheer confusion swirling in my mind. I couldn’t believe that they just put that out there IN the phone call.
What does ANYONE think of this? I feel like the obvious answer is to stay away, but I’m intrigued by the craziness going on.
