INFLATION – INCLUDING GAS PRICES – WAS SOARING WAY BEFORE RUSSIA/UKRAINE. This was a direct result of Biden’s and the democrats’ draconian policies, rampant spending, ridiculously prohibitive and expensive regulations, and massive tax increases, and now they are trying to use the war to sweep it under the rug. In addition to the fact that the massive spike in gas prices began way before Russia/Ukraine, inflation on ALL goods had already been soaring throughout the country – food, building materials, gas, consumer goods, etc. – AND NOW THERE IS A FOOD AND A BABY FORMULA SHORTAGE – and NONE OF ANY OF THAT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH RUSSIA. Yes – gas prices will increase even further now as a result of the war (and only gas – the war has no impact on the prices of any other goods that are now at historical inflationary levels), but they will increase off of an already ridiculously historically high inflationary basis that was in place before the war even began!
While President Trump created the GREATEST economy US HISTORY (and the demographic which benefitted the most from President Trump's policies was the Black community), Biden has only occupied the White House for two years and has since created the WORST economy since the Depression – far worse than the economy he inherited, an economic crisis, an unemployment crisis, a border crisis, an energy crisis (we were completely energy independent under President Trump and didn’t buy our gas from anyone else – GAS PRICES WERE SKYROCKETING UNDER BIDEN’S POLICIES WAY BEFORE RUSSIA/UKRAINE), a foreign policy crisis, terrorist organizations such as ISIS, the Taliban and Al Qaeda have regained strength (and our enemies such as Russia, Iran and China now perceive us as being weak!), crime and murders at an all-time high, a racial crisis, and a country on the brink of civil war. In short – a massive crisis of our democracy as our country has now become a socialist’s haven under fascist rule.
Inflation is now soaring – gas prices, consumer products, construction products such as lumber (which has a direct impact on home ownership). We have gone from complete energy independence under President Trump to gas shortages and lines at the pump and complete dependence upon other countries (it seems that we have regressed 50 years back to the 1970s). Unemployment is soaring. Biden’s policies have literally destroyed millions of jobs. This country is on fire (quite literally in a great many cities – and Biden and the dems seem fit to not only allow it to happen, but encourage it, allowing the Antifa/BLM terrorists burning down the cities to go free while going after political enemies with tactics that cannot be described as anything short of gestapo partisan tactics).
For those of you who voted for Biden, do you still not yet see your massive mistake and how you have contributed to the destruction of this country??? This is your doing. Furthermore, the deaths of all those Afghan people - and all of the Americans who will be killed in future terror attacks that would have never occurred under President Trump - is not just on Biden's head - but yours as well, along with any other ignorant fascist who voted for him.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Sydney Knipp, 16, tiptoed to stage’s edge and peered around the black curtain at the nearly 1,500 people waiting for the play to start. It was the largest audience she had ever seen.
In a few minutes, Sydney was supposed to stride before them, braids streaming, to deliver the opening monologue as Alanna Dale in “Marian, or The True Tale of Robin Hood,” a gender-bending take on Sherwood Forest’s beloved bandit.
Dotted among the crowd, Sydney saw, were security personnel in bulletproof vests. At the entrance, theatergoers were submitting to bag checks and a metal detector wand. Behind Sydney stood Fia, her 14-year-old sister, costumed as Much the Miller’s son.
Sydney and Fia, and their characters, were the reason for the security — the reason this play was happening not at school but at an outdoor theater in the girls’ hometown. Alanna confesses her love for a woman in the 16th scene. Much declares they are nonbinary two scenes later. The LGBTQ storylines drew complaints from parents, spurring Carroll High School to cancel “Marian” in February out of concern for students’ safety.
But the cast of two dozen teenagers decided to put the play on anyway. Now, on a chilly evening in late May — after raising almost $84,000, booking Foellinger Theatre and whirling through 2½ weeks of late-night rehearsals squeezed between Advanced Placement exams and finals — it was opening night for a show adults had warned them not to do.
Sydney sidled to her little sister. “How are you feeling?”
The teens believed — knew — they were part of something bigger. They knew schools across the country are nixing plays and musicals that feature gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender roles, often due to parent objections. They were aware Republican politicians are passing a record-breaking wave of laws restricting the rights of LGBTQ children, and that Fort Wayne trends White and red.
The teens also knew they had fans: the thousands who bought $15.50 tickets or donated to their fundraiser; the local theater groups who lent decorations; even “Marian” playwright Adam Szymkowicz, whom they had met on a Zoom call.
But in these last moments with her sister, Fia had something to confide.
She was thinking about what producer Nathan Gotsch said a half-hour before showtime. Should any hecklers emerge, he told students, ushers would escort them out. One student, dressed as a king’s guard, had raised black armored gloves and promised to deter disrupters with his fists, earning laughs. But Fia wasn’t laughing now.
“If someone yells something,” Fia whispered to Sydney, “I think I’m going to cry.”
Sydney pointed to the audience. “Dude, there are so many people with dyed hair out there,” she said. “We’re going to be okay.”
She laid her arm on Fia’s shoulder. Fia rested her forehead on Sydney’s hand. The sisters stood, curled in an embrace, as the crowd began to hush.
Three months earlier, Meadowe Freeman arrived early to school for a surprise meeting called by her principal and theater director.
Auditions had just wrapped for Carroll High’s production of “Marian.” The 18-year-old, who chose theater because “I’m not very sporty,” had anticipated teasing from students about the play’s LGBTQ characters. But she never expected what she heard that day: that some parents disliked the play so much it couldn’t continue.
“You read about it on the news,” Meadowe said, “but you never expect it to happen in your school.”
Sitting near the front of the room was Tristan Wasserman, 18. He watched his friends start to cry. Walking from the meeting, he decided: The show would go on.
That night, Tristan hunted up the email of “Marian” playwright Szymkowicz. He researched the name of a reporter with Fort Wayne’s 21 Alive News. He fired off versions of the same email.
“Hello,” he wrote, “my name is Tristan Wasserman … It was actually on my 18th birthday that we found out that we wouldn’t be doing Marian.”
His efforts yielded news coverage and, ultimately, 5,600 signatures on a petition to reinstate the play. One of Tristan’s friends, Stella Brewer-Vartanian, president of a left-leaning political club at Carroll High, launched Twitter and Instagram accounts devoted to reversing the cancellation. But the school stuck by its decision.
So Tristan began recruiting students to speak at the next school board meeting. If enough teens explained why it was wrong, he figured, the adults would have to listen.
On Feb. 27, Tristan, Stella — who wasn’t part of the theater program but felt outraged by what she called adult bullying — and roughly 20 high schoolers showed up, some with prepared speeches.
Before most could speak, a woman rose. Kaye Niman said she was a taxpayer, a mother and a pastor’s wife. “Marian” — with its “LGBT whatever, however many ABCs you want to put on it” — was immoral, Niman said.
“What we believe in is what the Bible says, and the Bible says that homosexuality is a sin,” said Niman, who did not respond to a request for comment. “It’s forgivable, don’t get me wrong, it’s forgivable and we love them, but nevertheless … I applaud whoever made the decision to not have this play go on.”
As Niman wrapped up, 16-year-old Peyton Stratton sat picturing the role she had hoped for: that of Marian/Robin, who leads the troupe of Merry Men. Peyton, who wants to attend law school, admired Marian for her ferocity, wit and determination to protect the people she loves.
Telling herself to summon those traits now, Peyton walked to the microphone. She reminded the board of school anti-bullying initiatives that teach children not to tolerate hate.
“By taking down this play, you’re following the opposite of that message,” she said. “You are teaching students to fold at the first sign of struggle.”
Stella told the adults they were writing themselves into history as “hateful.”
And Tristan gave a promise: “I have not rested,” he said, “nor will I rest until this decision is reversed.”
Students headed home with hope. Tristan was in his bedroom when he got a text alerting him that the superintendent, Wayne Barker, was speaking about the play.
“This came down to an issue where our principal felt that it was going to be an unsafe activity for our students to participate in because of how divisive it was becoming,” Barker said. “I support his decision … I’m comfortable with why he did what he did.”
In a statement to The Washington Post, district spokeswoman Lizette Downey said the decision to cancel “Marian” was due not only to parent complaints, but primarily to “disruptions already occurring between students directly involved within the theater department.” She did not specify what those “disruptions” were.
Superintendent Barker declined repeated interview requests.
For a while, the students were lost. Some pondered putting on the play outside school, Stella said, but no one knew how. Then Stella got a message saying a local man she’d never met wanted to talk to her.
A former teacher born and raised in Fort Wayne, Nathan Gotsch, 40, sympathized with administrators’ plight — but felt more for the students. And, he felt, he was perfectly positioned to help.
Gotsch, who attended film school at the University of Southern California, spent his 20s working in entertainment in Los Angeles. After stints in education and journalism, he had just run unsuccessfully for Congress. Taken together, it meant Gotsch had the know-how and the network of political, activist and theater contacts the students would need to stage “Marian” themselves.
Over a video call, the idea took shape. Gotsch agreed to serve as overall producer, and four teens — Tristan, Stella, Meadowe and Kaitlyn Gulley, head of Carroll’s Gay-Straight Alliance — would become student-producers.
Gotsch set up a GoFundMe to pay for the play; it pulled in $80,000 in under two weeks. Nonprofit Fort Wayne Pride, which advocates for LGBTQ rights, stepped in as fiscal agent, managing the money.
Nathan and others identified two dozen students willing to act in “Marian” and assigned them parts. He hired a professional director and crew to handle stage management, engineering, sets, sound, costumes and lighting. He secured Foellinger Theatre for May 20 and coordinated security with Indiana State Police and parks personnel.
Meanwhile, Stella and Kaitlyn promoted the play at a “No Hate Fort Wayne” rally and a Democratic Party gathering. Meadowe and Tristan liaised between adults and students in the production — while Meadowe learned a role as a guard and Tristan served as assistant stage manager and sound designer, at one point imitating pigeon calls for the play’s soundtrack.
Rehearsals — running after school and on weekends — started May 3. The student-actors had fewer than 4o hours, across less than three weeks, to learn their lines.
Teens were facing APs and fast-approaching finals. They were fielding phone calls from journalists and messages from actors who wanted to cheer them on — support they appreciated but which took time.
The Friday before opening night, Peyton arrived late after ferrying over three students who lacked cars. Her hair was already braided in the intricate coils required for the role she had coveted: Marian.
She fast-walked into a kitchen tucked below the theater to cries of “Peyton! They need you in makeup!” and “Peyton! Go straight to makeup!”
“I know,” Peyton said, crossing to a wall and scribbling her initials onto a sign-in sheet.

The former state representative, Christopher Donovan, pleaded guilty in February to one count of wire fraud. He admitted to using his position to steal money from a nonprofit organization that he founded.

The 6th domain of warfare is defined by military literature as the "cognitive domain". This is different than the often misunderstood "generations of warfare" which often implies infusion of technological breakthroughs.
The 6th domain (After Land, Air, Sea, Space & Cyber) is the most decisive area of conflict. Popularly it is known in political science literature as "public opinion" or "vox populi". All other 5 domains are used to win the 6th domain in modern military strategy. That can be understood by NATOs infamous "hearts and minds doctrine" in Afghanistan. (Before you go any further, do some reading on these terms).
For the last 70 years, the cognitive space or collective intelligence has been defined in Pakistan by the unwarranted overreach and political intervention of the Pakistani military establishment/deep state into this nation's polity. Through coups, indoctrination, propaganda and the good old brute force tactics, the military establishment has maintained its dominance over Pakistani political system.
It has not only divided the polity of this country along ethnic and sectarian lines but also executed a hostile takeover of the Pakistani economy by establishing a system of monopolies. It sounds oddly like the exploitative East India company model, from which we thought, we had gained freedom, we were wrong.
In 1957, a process of "recolonization" started through military coups, which led to civil war in 1971 which led to the country losing its majority population, which led to the eventual hanging of Bhutto, which led to Jihad in Afghanistan, which led to another coup a decade downstream. The goal has always been to fragment the polity of Pakistan to maintain and hold hard power, its also known as divide and rule.
Although the contributions and sacrifices of our Army has been instrumental in keeping this country alive (as is their job) but at the same time, the excellence of our armed forces has time and again been used to justify the unconstitutional, unethical and unwarranted political influence in the country, thus denying this country the opportunity to evolve a functional democratic system. A great betrayal!
The military establishment for the last 70 years dominated the cognitive domain in Pakistan by investing billions in opinion shaping through ISPR. However their grip had been slipping since Gen Bajwa was appointed chief while bypassing several senior and highly capable officers. The Bajwa doctrine unleashed forces that created confusion, instability and chaos in the country. The establishment loves to unleash chaos as a control instrument, as long as they hold the temperature gauge and a kill switch.
The ouster of Khan which was clearly planned and executed by Gen Bajwa proved to be the tipping point in the cognitive domain of Pakistan. The public had 70 years of historic records to corroborate and develop a clearer picture of the role of the establishment in ouster of Khan. This was evident when more than 10 million people came out on the streets to protest Khan's removal, not all of them were Khan supporters. The nation felt betrayed again, its historic trauma triggered!
At that point, Gen Bajwa could've made corrective decisions, but their signature hubris and 70 years of "internal management experience" prevented informed decision making. The establishment resorted to what it knows best, oppression, propaganda, violence, killings, abductions, gagging media and fear campaigns. They did this for a very good reason -- they worked in the past.
With the killing of Arshad Sharif and the embarrassing press conference on the hour of his burial as his dead body restlessly awaited to be laid to rest, the public caught a glimpse of establishment's true essence, a force of occupation that cared little about the human rights of its own people. The lessons weren't learned again, which led to the attempted assassination of Imran Khan, and the dye was cast.
What happened on the 9th of May was inevitable, it was a matter of when not if, the public anger met with 70 years of historic parallels, it turned into rage and it boiled on the streets. What followed were just the consequences. Since then, the establishment has been in disarray. The Army institution is unable to lift the dead weight of its dovetailed ambitions. Fractures are emerging.
That day should have served as the day to reflect and course correct, but no. The establishment decided to double down on its already failed strategy. More than 500 Punjabi women were abducted, dozens were killed across the country, thousands of peaceful protesters were arrested, as if the establishment was meting collective punishment to a colonized people. The madness continued, all media channels were taken over, days long marathon information campaigns were launched, followed by defections of PTI leaders.
With every act of brute force, the thin veil of plausible deniability slipped further, to a level where the people of Pakistan have no doubt left in their minds about who their tormentor is. Establishment has completely lost the cognitive battlefield by uprooting the ethical, moral and Islamic conventions that held this country together. Their colonial tactics of military courts, collective punishment, mistreatment of women and journalists has ensured that the establishment no longer has its moral authority.
Yesterday, Rana Sannaullah who was handpicked by Gen Bajwa as the MOI stated that they will try Khan in military courts. Who would believe that he's speaking for himself and not for the establishment?
At this juncture of madness, the country suffers and suffers as its economy melts down, leaving millions of people in excruciating poverty. All because the establishment refuses to return political stability to the country by conducting free and transparent elections. The defeat in the cognitive domain is not only absolute but also permanent, as the ledger of their oppression will continue to guide and influence the opinions of hundreds of millions of young Pakistanis for at least a generation.
The establishment for the first time in 70 years finds itself at a crossroads. It has two very clear choices.
A: Continue to fight in the 6th domain with 1st generation tactics against their own people - or.
B: Take a cold hard look at just how unwanted their political overreach really is. Appreciate that they have lost this war, accept it and charter a path to return stability in the country. The successful completion of a free, fair and transparent election and smooth handover of power to the elected civilian authority might undo some of the damage. The people of Pakistan and the Army institution will see it as a CBM by the establishment.
What do you think the establishment will choose to do?

Just to make sure everyone is clear on this because I see posts and comments indicating that some people are not: The governor of NC has no veto power over redistricting bills. The legislature can pass them with a simple majority of both houses. Reference: Section 22(5)(b-d) of the NC Constitution.
This is why through the 2010s Democratic Governors Mike Easley and Bev Purdue were just bystanders to the multiple gerrymanders created then, and why Roy Cooper is similarly helpless this time around.
This is also why those Supreme Court elections last year, in which the GOP won all the races, were so important. We are now locked into a GOP supreme court until 2030 (judges serve 8 year terms).
Why doesn't the Governor have veto power over redistricting? It was a bipartisan legislature (R House, D Senate) that wrote the constitutional amendment giving the governor veto power in 1995. Two-term Republican governor Jim Martin had just left office two years ago. Eight years before Martin, Republican Jim Holshouser had been governor. Also, even though the Republicans controlled the NC House in 1995, they had just won it the year before and it was the first time since Reconstruction Republicans had controlled either house of the NC legislature.
So from a Democratic point of view, a Republican Governor was a real likelihood since 2 of the 3 previous Governors had been Republicans, but a Republican legislature would be a rare fluke. Democrats were confident they would always have significant legislative power. I think the Republicans, OTOH, felt (correctly it turned out) that they would have legislative power in the future. So both parties thought it was in their own best interest to neuter the Governor's veto power as much as possible. Republicans were right about this. Democrats were wrong and have been paying the price for that error since 2011, with no relief in sight.

I don’t get how Cyrus, Eli and others believe they are patriots? They are actively and purposefully ending democratic principles for their own gain. Are they secretly interested in a republic ruled only by them or are they just megalomaniacs blind to what they are doing?

Hello all, I've made a post to see if I can find the right kind of people for me with similar values when it comes to forming a close and supportive friendship. I have often found it draining to have to keep messaging so many people online that I'd like to limit any potential pitfalls as much as possible when it comes to making friends online. From my experience, a lot of friendships don't seem to work out when there is not as much initiation from both sides which is something that I really value. I really appreciate direct and honest communication along with a willingness to work through things. I expect a certain amount of effort when it comes to responses. Although I tend to have higher standards when it comes to friends, I do not want that to deter others from wanting to reach out as I am quite open and understanding. I'm a 22-year-old and in my final year of college. I'm majoring in psychology as I want to be able to become a therapist/counselor and help others out where possible. Once I graduate, I am planning to pursue a master's degree in counseling. I live on the east coast side of the US and my MBTI personality type is INFJ as well. It's usually easier to mention this ahead of time but I have a physical disability that requires me to use a wheelchair.
Some of my interests and activities that I enjoy doing include playing games on pc, ps5, and switch, learning about other people and their experiences, watching videos or shows online, and voice chatting. Basically, anything where we can spend time together online in some way. A few of my favorite games are Final Fantasy 14, Xenoblade Chronicles 1-3, Persona 5, Pokemon, Skyrim, and The Witcher 3. I am also open to talking about and trying out other games. As for shows and watching videos, I do enjoy watching anime from time to time and wouldn't mind watching them with others. Additionally, if you have any suggestions or things you like to watch I would be happy to watch those as well. We could even just watch stuff on youtube which is where I usually go lol.
I'm looking for the kind of one-on-one friendship where we can message/talk about whatever is on our minds throughout the day and be able to share everyday and deeper, more meaningful conversations. I enjoy having conversations on philosophical topics, anything science or education related, asking random questions, and psychology (of course) or mental health in general. It would be great to have long-term friends who prioritize a consistent, genuinely caring friendship and who are willing to put in the same amount of effort. I want to have friendships where we can open up to each other as much as we are comfortable with and be able to check in on each other.
I'm not expecting to become great friends with everyone but I am willing to give others a fair chance. Realistically, I want to invest in just a few quality friendships. Building a good friendship takes time and I only want to have friends who are specifically looking for something long-term. As long as you are willing to show that you value building the kind of friendship that I do, that is what I care about most.
