2023.06.08 08:10 jcritt31 Shoot me a smile, Roulette and Handful have really grown on me

First I want to make it clear that I never hated any of these songs. But I remember on the first few listens I just felt they were uninspired. But as I’ve continued to listen, they’ve really grown on me.
Shoot Me a Smile initially seemed boring but I think overtime it’s grown into a really enjoyable song. Really nice harmonies from John and his lead guitar part on the final chorus is beautiful.
Roulette didn’t stick out much but now I really enjoy the groove from Chad and Flea and how they mesh with John’s parts. I think it has some of John’s best lead parts among the new stuff. The bridge is rad.
I was afraid Handful was gonna become a skip for me but I really like it now. Anthony’s lyrics feel real and honest, and John’s harmonies sound like a choir. I really like John’s solo and the multiple guitar parts in the instrumental break.
I’m curious if anyone has a new song or two that they initially didn’t like but it’s grown on them after repeat listens?

2023.06.08 08:09 helpmg Survey results help please - damp and roof issues on Victorian terrace

Hi, received a Level 3 survey back on an 1870s (est.) Victorian end of terrace we are hoping to buy and there was lots of red 3s. Just trying to establish what is relatively 'normal' for a 150 year old house, and what isn't. Working out whether to proceed, and if so, what reduction to make in our offer given we have no wiggle room to pay for urgent repairs unless we reduce our deposit. Finally, trying to decide what further surveys/site visits to get from people before we exchange, as opposed to after we've moved in.
There are 9 'elements' of the property that have come back with red 3s: chimneys stacks, roof coverings, main walls, windows, other joinery and finishes, walls and partitions, fireplaces, woodwork and 'other'. Main issues as far as I can see are:
High levels of dampness at ground floor and 1st floor by 2 x chimney stacks from penetrative damp - repairs required on roof to chimneys - pointing, flashings, soaker etc.
Patch repairs, additional ventilating tiles and replacement ridge and hip tiles to main roof. Full and immediate replacement of small ground floor flat rear extension roof and fixing a bad join between extensions roof and original roof. Some fascias and soffits to be repaired/replaced.
Removal of render at ground level on outside walls to reduce rising damp. Also lower outside ground level.
3-4 windows need replacing.
These are the main things.
Standard recommendations for electrics inspection as well as gas check.
Also recommendations for PCA damp survey to install chemical DPC.
Any views?

2023.06.08 08:07 MysteriousHippo3019 The Flash Movie Rumored Cameos

So there’s a rumor that Teddy Sears will appear in the Flash movie, but he won’t be HunteZoom, he’ll be appearing as Jay/Flash.
In Season 2, Jay tells Caitlin that his Earth 1 Doppelgängers name is Hunter Zolomon. Which we later learn Jay is actually Hunter Zolomon on Earth 2.
But when asked why he has a different name, Jay/Hunter says from what he can gather, the mother died in child birth and that he was passed around from family to family until he was eventually adopted and raised by the Zolomons.
What if that’s exactly what happened and the same thing happened in Earth 2 as well. Jays biological mother died during child birth and he was eventually raised by the Zolomons, Ashley Zolomon & James Zolomon as Hunter Zolomon.
The only difference is in Earth 1, he lived a happy life, while on Earth 2, James forced Hunter to watch him kill Ashley, which messed with his sanity, turned him into a serial killer and eventually sent to the asylum where he was hit by the particle accelerator explosion.
Skip to Hunter using velocity 9, where it made him fast enough to break the dimensional barrier and travel the multiverse
What if Hunter traveled to let’s just say Earth 4? And found himself, where his mother never died during child birth and he kept the name Jay Garrick, and he happened to be the Flash on that world, where they fought and Hunter won.
Hunter enjoyed that so much that he went to Earth 3 looking for Jay and came across John Wesley Shipp as Jay. After beating him too, he had an idea to take Jay to Earth 2 as a trophy and pretend to be him to give people False hope. Until he started losing his speed and saw Barry in the sky.
And so the Jay we see in the flash movie is Earth 4 Jay played by Teddy Sears before Earth 2 Hunter fights him 🤔
Or non adopted Jay/adopted Hunter is Teddy Sears young, and John Wesley Shipp old 🤯
But of course if Hunter isn’t Jay at all, then the easiest theory is maybe the Jay we see in the movie is false hope Jay after Earth 3 Trophy Jay, but before Season 2 Barry Allen 🤷🏻‍♂️
Or maybe they just use a scene from the TV show while in the speed force 🤣 and my brain is just making up a bunch of ideas for no reason 😅😅

Application development world, one decision that holds profound implications for your project's success is the selection of an appropriate database. This choice is far from trivial. It directly impacts not only the performance of your application, delivering a smooth or laggy user experience, but also its scalability, determining whether your application can grow in stride with your user base or customer demand. Additionally, your database choice also influences the ease or complexity of managing your application, affecting how swiftly you can respond to issues and implement changes or improvements.
In the diverse landscape of database solutions, two names often rise to the forefront of discussions - Redis and MongoDB. These popular options each bring a distinctive set of features and advantages to the table, suiting them to different scenarios and requirements. As a result, they are frequently contrasted and compared, with developers seeking to discern which would be the ideal fit for their specific project needs.
Redis, standing for Remote Dictionary Server, is an open-source, in-memory data structure store. It can function as a database, cache, and message broker. The design of this key-value store results in lightning-fast read and write operations. This quality makes Redis a prime candidate for applications that necessitate real-time data processing.
On the other hand, MongoDB is a document-oriented database known for its flexibility and scalability. It is also open-source and employs JSON-like documents with optional schemas. These attributes make MongoDB a powerful tool for querying and indexing, further enriching its appeal.
Both Redis and MongoDB, with their unique strengths and characteristics, have carved niches for themselves in certain types of applications. However, the choice between them is not always clear-cut and can be influenced by a multitude of factors such as the nature of data to be stored, speed requirements, scalability needs, and more.
The goal of this comprehensive article is to illuminate the key facets of Redis vs MongoDB. By contrasting their features, strengths, and weaknesses, we aim to equip you with the necessary understanding to navigate this critical decision confidently. Through this guidance, we hope to steer you towards the right choice for your project, optimizing the performance, scalability, and manageability of your application.

What is Redis?

Redis, an acronym for Remote Dictionary Server, is an open-source, in-memory data structure store used as a database, cache, and message broker.
At the heart of our comparison lies Redis. An acronym that stands for Remote Dictionary Server, Redis is a potent and versatile solution in the data management space. It is an open-source tool, meaning that its source code is freely available, promoting transparency, community-driven enhancements, and adaptability to specific needs. The free availability of its source code aligns with the ethos of many developers, supporting the continued development and refinement of this high-performing software.
Redis operates as an in-memory data structure store, which significantly impacts its performance characteristics. The term 'in-memory' signifies that Redis stores data directly in the server's main memory (RAM), unlike other databases that store data on disk. This characteristic provides Redis with a substantial speed advantage, as accessing data in memory is considerably faster than retrieving it from a disk. As a result, applications using Redis can access and manipulate data with blazing speed, propelling their performance.
The versatility of Redis goes beyond just functioning as a database. It can also serve as a cache and message broker. As a cache, Redis temporarily stores frequently accessed data to reduce the time taken for data retrieval, resulting in faster response times. As a message broker, Redis supports the publishing of messages and subscribing to channels, facilitating efficient and real-time communication between different parts of an application.
Redis adopts a straightforward and effective key-value store design, allowing data to be stored as a pair where one element is a key, and the other is its corresponding value. This architecture is simple yet powerful, enabling high-speed read and write operations. Keys provide a method to identify data, and values hold the actual data itself. Due to this design, Redis excels in applications requiring real-time data processing where speed is of the essence.
Overall, the nature of Redis - its open-source status, its in-memory operation, its versatile roles, and its key-value store design - makes it an outstanding choice for certain types of applications. Especially in scenarios where real-time data processing is vital, Redis can offer a performance that truly sets it apart.

The Benefits of Redis: Speed, Flexibility, and More

Redis, as we've discovered, is much more than a simple data store. Its unique characteristics endow it with certain strengths that make it a robust tool in a developer's arsenal. The benefits of Redis are many, but two in particular stand out: its remarkable speed and its support for a range of diverse data structures.
Redis owes its blazing speed to its in-memory design. As data is stored and accessed directly from the main memory (RAM), data operations like read and write occur at a rapid pace. With Redis, you can achieve sub-millisecond latency, a speed that is often essential in today's dynamic and fast-paced applications. This speed advantage places Redis in a class of its own when it comes to applications that require real-time responses.
In practical terms, this means that Redis is an ideal solution for numerous demanding use-cases. For instance, as a cache, Redis can store frequently accessed data for speedy retrieval, effectively reducing application response times. It also shines in session management, where maintaining a fast, consistent experience for users across multiple sessions is crucial.
The application of Redis doesn't stop there. In real-time analytics, where data needs to be processed and insights need to be drawn instantly, Redis proves to be a valuable asset. Additionally, it is an excellent fit for message queuing systems, where its ability to quickly publish and retrieve messages ensures efficient and reliable communication between different application components.
Complementing its speed is another significant strength of Redis: its support for a wide array of data structures. Redis is not just a simple key-value store; it can handle data structures such as lists, sets, sorted sets, hashes, bitmaps, hyperloglogs, and geospatial indexes. Each of these data structures serves a unique purpose, and having the ability to choose the right one for the right task can be instrumental in building efficient applications.
This diversity in data structures offers a high degree of flexibility in handling different data types and use cases. For example, lists in Redis can be used to implement stacks, queues, or even a timeline of activities; sorted sets can be used to manage a leaderboard in a gaming application; and geospatial indexes can be used in location-based services like finding the nearest restaurant.
The pros of Redis lie in its exceptional speed and its support for various data structures. These advantages make Redis a compelling choice for a range of applications, from those requiring real-time data processing to those requiring diverse methods of data handling.

Cons of Redis

While Redis is indeed a powerful tool with a multitude of strengths, it is not without its limitations. Understanding these constraints is critical to making an informed decision about whether Redis is the right choice for your application's needs. The two primary limitations of Redis relate to its data persistence model and its relatively simple querying capabilities.
The first limitation revolves around Redis' data persistence model. As previously discussed, Redis is fundamentally an in-memory data store, meaning data is primarily stored in the server's main memory (RAM). While this design leads to fast data access and superior performance, it also means that data stored in Redis may not persist if the server is rebooted or encounters a failure.

Although Redis does offer mechanisms to mitigate this concern, such as snapshotting and append-only files (AOF) that allow data to be persisted to disk, these methods come with their own trade-offs in terms of performance and disk space. As a result, Redis may not be the best choice for scenarios where long-term, reliable data storage is paramount. Applications requiring a strong guarantee of data durability may need to consider alternative solutions or additional backup strategies.
The second limitation of Redis pertains to its querying capabilities. At its core, Redis operates as a key-value store, where data can be quickly accessed using a unique key. While this design works well for simple data access patterns and contributes to Redis' impressive speed, it may fall short in scenarios requiring more complex data manipulation.

Unlike databases that support SQL or similar querying languages, Redis lacks advanced querying capabilities. You cannot, for instance, easily perform operations like selecting all keys that meet a certain condition or joining data from multiple keys. As a result, Redis may be less suited to scenarios that demand intricate data analysis, complex searches, or advanced data manipulation.
In essence, while Redis is a high-performance in-memory data store that supports a range of data structures, it is not a one-size-fits-all solution. The limitations concerning data persistence and querying capabilities should be carefully considered alongside its strengths. The right decision always depends on your specific use case, requirements, and constraints. As with any technology decision, the goal is to choose the best tool for the task at hand.

What is MongoDB ?

MongoDB is an open-source, document-oriented database, meaning it stores data in a semi-structured format similar to JSON (JavaScript Object Notation), known as BSON (Binary JSON).
Like Redis, being open-source, MongoDB's source code is freely accessible, fostering a culture of innovation, transparency, and community-backed improvements.
One of MongoDB's most significant selling points is its use of JSON-like documents with optional schemas. This design choice marks a stark departure from traditional relational databases that employ structured tables and rows for data storage. In MongoDB, data is stored and organized in documents, which can contain multiple fields and data types, offering a great deal more flexibility. These fields can vary from document to document, and there's no obligation to have a predefined schema. This lack of rigidity allows developers to adapt the database structure as the application requirements evolve, making MongoDB an excellent choice for projects where the data schema might change over time.

Another standout characteristic of MongoDB is its high scalability. As businesses grow and applications generate more data, the ability of a database to scale becomes paramount. MongoDB shines in this regard, providing features like automatic sharding and replication to handle vast amounts of data and distribute it across multiple servers. Sharding allows MongoDB to distribute data across several machines, efficiently managing large data sets. Replication, on the other hand, ensures data availability and durability by maintaining multiple copies of data across different database servers.
Beyond flexibility and scalability, MongoDB also boasts powerful querying and indexing capabilities. Unlike Redis, which primarily operates as a key-value store, MongoDB provides a rich query language that allows developers to perform complex read and write operations. Whether it's filtering data based on specific criteria, joining data across collections, or performing aggregate functions, MongoDB's querying language has got you covered.

Furthermore, MongoDB supports a variety of indexes, making data retrieval even faster. Developers can create indexes on any field within a MongoDB document, including fields within arrays, improving performance and efficiency.
MongoDB, with its open-source nature, document-oriented structure, flexible schema, high scalability, and robust querying and indexing capabilities, stands out as a potent solution for a wide array of applications. It is particularly fitting for scenarios where data schemas are flexible, large volumes of data are expected, or where complex querying and indexing are required.

The Benefits of MongoDB: Flexibility, Scalability, and Reliability

MongoDB, a favored choice among many developers and businesses alike, is characterized by a multitude of strengths. These strengths revolve around MongoDB's flexibility, rich querying capabilities, scalability, and ACID-compliant transactions, all of which contribute to its suitability for handling complex data structures, big data applications, and business-critical operations.
First and foremost, the flexibility that MongoDB offers is significant. MongoDB does not impose a rigid schema on your data, a departure from traditional SQL databases. This schema-less nature means you can store documents of varying structures within the same collection, allowing you to handle data that is inconsistent or evolving. You can add, remove, or modify fields as you go, which is particularly useful in applications where the data structure might change over time.
This flexibility extends to MongoDB's powerful querying capabilities. MongoDB provides a rich query language that supports a wide range of operations, allowing developers to perform complex tasks that go far beyond simple data retrieval. Whether you're filtering documents based on specific criteria, joining data across multiple collections, or performing aggregation functions, MongoDB offers the capabilities you need. This makes it especially suitable for handling complex data structures and requirements.
Next, MongoDB's strength lies in its scalability. It is designed to accommodate big data applications and scale horizontally through a process called sharding. Sharding is the practice of distributing data across multiple servers or clusters, which can enhance performance, manage large data sets efficiently, and ensure that your application can grow without being constrained by your database's capacity.
If you're handling big data or expecting high growth rates, MongoDB's sharding capabilities can help maintain high performance and prevent the database from becoming a bottleneck. This makes MongoDB a preferred choice for big data applications where scalability is a key requirement.
Finally, MongoDB is ACID-compliant, supporting Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation, and Durability (ACID) transactions. This compliance ensures that all database transactions are processed reliably and that your data remains consistent even in the event of a system failure. ACID compliance is a crucial factor for many business-critical applications where data integrity and reliability cannot be compromised.
In essence, MongoDB's flexibility, rich querying capabilities, scalability, and ACID-compliant transactions make it a robust, versatile, and reliable choice for a variety of applications. Whether you're handling complex and varying data structures, managing big data, or dealing with business-critical operations that require reliable data processing, MongoDB has the strengths to meet these challenges.

Cons of MongoDB: Memory Consumption and Data Redundancy

Like all technologies, MongoDB is not without its drawbacks. It's essential to understand these limitations to make an informed decision about whether it's the right database solution for a particular use case. Two notable limitations associated with MongoDB are its sizable memory footprint and potential for data redundancy and inconsistency due to its document-oriented design.
Firstly, MongoDB has a reputation for being relatively memory-intensive. As a document-oriented database that maintains a variety of indexes to facilitate quick data retrieval, MongoDB requires a substantial amount of memory. This is particularly true when dealing with large datasets, as MongoDB keeps frequently accessed data and indexes in RAM to boost performance. In resource-constrained environments, this can pose a challenge. If your application is running on a device or server with limited RAM, MongoDB's large memory footprint could lead to suboptimal performance or even outages.
Moreover, while MongoDB is highly performant and can handle big data with ease, it may not perform as well as some alternatives, like Redis, for in-memory data handling. Redis is specifically designed for in-memory operations, offering exceptional speed and performance. So, if your application requires real-time data processing and instant data access, Redis may outperform MongoDB.

Secondly, while MongoDB's flexible, document-oriented approach is one of its biggest strengths, it can also lead to challenges. The lack of a predefined schema means that the same data can be represented in multiple ways across different documents. This flexibility, while advantageous in many scenarios, can lead to data redundancy if not managed correctly.
For instance, if the same piece of data is stored in multiple documents, any changes to that data must be updated across all instances, increasing the complexity of data management. If these updates aren't performed correctly, it can lead to data inconsistency issues. These challenges can be mitigated with careful database design and data management practices, but they nonetheless represent a trade-off of MongoDB's flexible, schema-less design.
While MongoDB is a powerful, flexible, and scalable database solution, these strengths come with trade-offs. The database's memory footprint and potential for data redundancy and inconsistency are important factors to consider when deciding if MongoDB is the right choice for your project. As always, the optimal database choice depends on your specific use-case, the resources at your disposal, and the constraints you're working under.

Redis vs MongoDB: Making the Right Choice

Embarking on the journey to select the right database for your application can feel like navigating a complex maze. Two potent contenders that often cross paths are Redis and MongoDB. Both have distinct strengths, and the ultimate decision largely hinges on your unique use case and specific requirements.
Redis can be your ally when your application demands lightning-fast data operations. Its in-memory nature and simplified data model provide unparalleled speed, offering sub-millisecond latency. If your application requires a robust caching system or real-time analytics, Redis shines bright as a choice. For instance, if you're building a chat application, a gaming leaderboard, or an ad-serving system where speed is critical, Redis can help you deliver an excellent user experience.
Furthermore, Redis is also an excellent fit for storing session information and user profiles. Many applications need quick access to user data for authentication and personalization, and the blazing-fast read and write operations that Redis provides can make these tasks significantly more efficient. The data structures that Redis supports, such as lists, sets, and hashes, can accommodate these scenarios well, further underlining why Redis could be the right choice for such requirements.
MongoDB comes into the picture when your application requires the handling of complex querying, high scalability, and flexibility in dealing with diverse and evolving data structures. MongoDB's document-oriented design and rich query language make it a powerful tool for applications that need to process complex data and perform sophisticated queries. It's ideally suited for projects like content management systems, mobile applications, and real-time analytics that require flexibility and robustness.
MongoDB's ability to scale horizontally through sharding makes it a reliable ally for applications expecting high data growth. As your application expands and the data multiplies, MongoDB's sharding capabilities ensure that your database doesn't become a performance bottleneck.

While comparing Redis vs MongoDB, it's crucial to remember that choosing a database isn't always a binary decision. The realm of application development is replete with examples of successful applications that employ a polyglot persistence architecture, effectively leveraging the strengths of multiple databases. For instance, you could choose MongoDB for storing business data that requires complex querying and flexibility, while simultaneously employing Redis for caching and session storage to capitalize on its speed. This approach allows you to bring together the best of both worlds, thereby enhancing the performance and efficiency of your application.
The journey to choose between Redis vs MongoDB should be guided by a thorough understanding of your application's requirements and the unique strengths of each database. By aligning these elements, you can make a well-informed decision that propels your application towards success.

Conclusion

Arriving at the juncture of decision-making, the path you tread in choosing the right database is laden with significance. This decision can profoundly impact multiple facets of your application, including its performance, scalability, efficiency, and long-term viability. The choice between Redis and MongoDB is no exception and warrants a thorough understanding of your application's needs, paired with the unique strengths each database brings to the table.
When it comes to database selection, the key is to immerse yourself in understanding your application's unique needs and demands. Does your application need to handle real-time analytics, where speed is paramount? Or perhaps you're developing a content management system that requires complex querying and a flexible data structure? Each use case presents unique needs that can be met more effectively by one database over the other.
Understanding the strengths of Redis and MongoDB is equally important in this equation. Redis, with its in-memory design and blazing-fast read and write operations, shines in situations demanding high-speed data operations, caching, and real-time analytics. Simultaneously, MongoDB, with its flexibility, rich querying language, and high scalability, proves to be a robust choice for applications dealing with diverse, evolving data structures, and expecting high data growth.
Once you've identified your application's needs and understood how each database can address these requirements, you're well-equipped to make an informed choice. This process may be intricate, but it's crucial to remember that it's not a race, but a journey. The goal is not to rush to a decision, but to carefully consider all the factors involved.
Remember, technology choices, like selecting a database, are not static, and you may need to reassess your decision as your application evolves and grows. By staying adaptable, continuously learning, and keeping the focus on your application's needs, the task of choosing the right database becomes less daunting and more of an enriching journey.

Since the launch of Bitcoin, cryptocurrency has received a lot of attention. The two most popular cryptocurrencies right now are Bitcoin and Ethereum. However, investing in digital currencies is not always advisable. Therefore, you should be properly knowledgeable about cryptocurrency trading before entering the market. Alternatively, you could consult a crypto advisor.
It can be easy to get caught up in the mystery and excitement surrounding cryptocurrency, which is an innovative yet often misunderstood asset
But there are risks. For those who are unaware of these risks and are unable to protect themselves from the potential dangers associated with digital currency, the consequences can be financially disastrous.
To assist you in investing and trading digital currencies more effectively, this blog will cover all aspects of cybersecurity in cryptocurrency trading.

The Rise of Cybercrime and Cybersecurity in Cryptocurrency Trading

The rise of cryptocurrency has led to a growing need for cybersecurity measures to protect against hacking and theft. As the use and adoption of cryptocurrency continue to grow, so does the need for robust cybersecurity protocols.
The decentralized nature of cryptocurrencies makes them attractive to users who value privacy and security. However, this same feature also makes them vulnerable to cyber-attacks.
Cryptocurrency transactions are recorded on a public ledger, making them visible to anyone with access to the network. This visibility makes it easier for attackers to trace the movement of funds and target specific accounts.
As a result, exchanges and wallet providers have had to invest heavily in cybersecurity measures to protect their users’ funds and information. These measures include implementing two-factor authentication, using encryption to secure data, and employing various forms of cold storage to keep funds offline and out of reach of hackers.
Moreover, regulatory bodies are beginning to recognize the importance of cybersecurity in cryptocurrency trading. The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has issued guidelines for cryptocurrency exchanges and wallet providers to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) requirements. Failure to comply with these guidelines can result in fines and other penalties.
The rise of cybersecurity in cryptocurrency has also led to the development of new technologies and services. For example, blockchain analytics firms have emerged to help identify and prevent illicit activities such as money laundering and terrorist financing.
Similarly, cybersecurity firms have developed specialized solutions to protect against cryptocurrency-related threats such as phishing attacks and malware.

Why Cybersecurity is important in Cryptocurrency trading?

Cryptocurrency trading has become increasingly popular in recent years, with more and more people investing in digital assets. However, as with any form of investment, there are risks involved, especially when it comes to cybersecurity.
Confusing? Let us explain in detail:

Protection against hacking:

Cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets are prime targets for hackers due to the large amounts of funds that are stored in them. Hackers can attempt to gain access to these accounts through various methods, such as phishing, malware, and social engineering.
To protect against hacking attempts, users should use strong passwords that are not easily guessable, enable two-factor authentication, and use encryption to secure their data.
Many exchanges and wallets also offer additional security features such as IP whitelisting, which restricts access to accounts from specified IP addresses.

Preventing theft:

Cryptocurrency theft can occur when an attacker gains access to a user’s private keys or steals cryptocurrency from an exchange or wallet. Private keys are used to sign transactions and provide access to cryptocurrency stored in wallets.
If an attacker gains access to a user’s private keys, they can steal the cryptocurrency without the user’s knowledge. One way to prevent this type of theft is to use cold storage, which stores the private keys offline and out of reach of hackers.

Maintaining privacy:

Cryptocurrency transactions are often anonymous, which can be both a benefit and a risk. While anonymity can provide users privacy and security, it can also be used for illicit activities such as money laundering and terrorist financing. Proper cybersecurity measures can help protect users’ identities and prevent fraud.
For example, using privacy coins such as Monero can help obscure the origin and destination of transactions, making it more difficult for attackers to track the movement of funds.

Compliance with regulations:

Cryptocurrency trading is subject to various regulations, including anti-money laundering and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements. Compliance with these regulations requires robust cybersecurity measures to protect user data and prevent illegal activities.
Exchanges and wallet providers are required to collect and verify user information such as identity documents, proof of address, and source of funds. They must also implement strict security protocols to protect this sensitive data.

Reputation management:

A successful cyberattack can damage the reputation of an exchange or wallet provider, leading to a loss of trust among users and potential investors.
To maintain a positive reputation, exchanges and wallet providers must demonstrate their commitment to cybersecurity by implementing strong security measures and regularly testing and updating their systems. Failure to do so can result in significant financial losses and harm to the industry as a whole.

2023.06.08 08:05 Motorbarge When religions began, people believed there was more than one god. (Some people called them spirits). When the idea of one god came, the extra gods were demoted to angels. Here is what happened:

In the beginning, god created companions for himself.
That is the story of the angels. We evolved from the animals that their god created. We took the angels' story of creation and inserted ourselves as being the special ones.
Adam was the first angel. God made Eve by taking a rib from Adam. We don't reproduce that way. Angels do.
If you read the bible, there is a list of who begat whom. There are no women mentioned because angels don't have gender. Eve is a clone of Adam.
When god left them alone, because god can and does leave (it was the reason Adam wanted a companion), they broke the one rule - "no more angels." It was a rule that was not needed when there was only one angel, but was needed when there was a second angle who could take a piece from the first angel to grow a third angel. (We all know that rule: Mom says you can have one friend in when she is away but no one else because it will get out of control)
When god returned, the angels hid, because it is possible to hide from god.
When god saw them, he knew what happened (god can count past two). God did not know what happened when he was away. God is not all knowing.
A lot of this is in the bible.
Toward the end of our evolution, the angels contacted us thinking they could improve our lives. They shared the story of their creation and people decided the angels were demigods who could be implored to help with various things.
People continued to fight wars because we like to kill each other. When they did, they asked their demigods for help and even fought for the glory of their demigods.
The angels were, I hope, horrified that they were being used that way. So, they introduced the idea of there only being one god, but even that failed because people fought over which god was the correct god. Then, they cut contact with us, leaving us to sort it out.
We did not sort it out. Instead we have the ability to destroy the earth with atomic weapons and the angels are seeing a need to intervene. They are back. The UFOs are always around in times of war (Mysterious UFOs Seen by WWII Airman Still Unexplained). They need this earth, like we need it and they will destroy us when it is necessary.
Judgment day isn't the day we get to be with the angels. It's the day they give up and send us all to hell. It's the fuck around and find out day. No one is special and we are scarily close.
Our problem, now, is that religious adherents all think they are special and will be saved. They want the world to end.
Just as there are angels, there is Satan who is the enemy of the angels. Satan also wants the world to end; but, not to be with a bunch of people. He is already with them, spreading hate and divisiveness.
John 8:44 ...there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Beware the people who are shameless liars, like a past president whose followers are blind to his lies and a congressman whose lies are accepted as a necessary evil.

2023.06.08 08:04 atticus_bird Decoding the lyrics of “Hits Different” - What could Joe & Taylor’s song be?

I've been obsessing over Hits Different since it joined Spotify and I can't help but speculate about the lyrics: "Each bar plays our song, nothing has ever felt so wrong." It's widely believed that this song reflects Taylor's breakup with Joe Alwyn, and the assumption is that the song playing in the bar is their special song. But what could this song possibly be?
When I first heard these lyrics, I imagined a song that holds deep emotional significance for Joe and Taylor. Considering the nostalgic and reflective nature of "Hits Different," I picture their song as something lyrically beautiful, possibly an old classic love song that tugs at the heartstrings. The kind of song that reminds them of their happiest moments together.
On the other hand, since the song is played in every bar, it could also be something current, a popular song that represents the contemporary sound and feeling of their relationship. Perhaps it was a chart-topping ballad that resonated with both Joe and Taylor during their time together.
Personally, I can't help but wonder if their song was a romantic ballad like "Unchained Melody" by The Righteous Brothers or "At Last" by Etta James. These timeless classics have stood the test of time and are known for their heartfelt lyrics that perfectly capture the essence of love.
However, it's also possible that Joe and Taylor's song was something more recent, given the popularity of their relationship and their involvement in the music industry. It could have been a contemporary hit like "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran or "All of Me" by John Legend, both of which are renowned for their emotional depth and romantic themes.
So what do you think Joe and Taylor's song could have been? Are you leaning towards an old classic or a current chart-topper? I'm keen to hear your thoughts and any other theories you may have!

2023.06.08 08:00 Educational-Ask-1454 What can I do with an older HALF TON Pick-Up 🤔 beat to hėll 2001 Silverado 1500 🥴 Don't work for Jimmy John's btw

I've taken a few thousand food order deliveries for Domino's Pizzeria and for DoorDash, doorgarbage in my market is worthless now - I do know one driver who is still making money, but the fools at DoorGarbage oversaturated the market and shut most of us out, gray zones all of the time, if we get a time block it is $3.00°° order average .. ridiculous
I was working for Jimmy John's for a few weeks until a lady drove her SUV into (kinda over) the front end of my sedan.. it was a 2005 GM 3800, best car ever.. drove what was left of her until last week .. as an aside, Jimmy John's doesn't care about what happens when you're driving for them (as I'm sure other companies also don't, but I thought I'd be covered in some way at all while W2 .. but nope)
Anyway my truck is older and upset 😡 but it has the 5.3L and a good transmission so I was wondering what I could do to make some money for now.. I cannot wander off too far because if it breaks down I'd just lose it to impound fees I suppose
My body is f___ed from the accident now
and I've lost a lot of weight so it would be good if I could be more of a lazy driver 😅 moving sucks 😅 but that hasn't stopped me of course
I'm trying to buy another 2005 3800 Lesabre, identical to my dead one.. a guy I know has a gorgeous one for $300 and it needs a little work
Buying a Honda or Toyota or Sprinter or 3/4ton+ truck would be awesome but they just cannot seem to be bought in my price range 😕 I can spend a few grand at the most on what ever I'm buying and people such as myself cannot lease
The 3800 GM seems like the closest I can get to Honda/Toyota without spending a fortune of cash.. 3800 mileage is great and they're kinda bullet proof
I'm at ICT but more than willing to move around and I'll work 12-16hr days 6-7 days weekly, no problem.. I like Wichita, I went up to Manhattan and Junction city to try DoorDash there twice, it wasn't great but I love the area
I don't ____ around, customers love me 😎 even when the imbeciles at DoorDash create frustrating ridiculous situations 😎 https://ibb.co/T10kkGK
TLDR; Looking for ideas 💡 for using old 1500 truck, ideas for replacing current vehicles, wrote long winded

Brain-Computer Interface: WiMi Hologram Cloud(WIMI)Developed And Innovated Its BCI Gaming Model

Last Monday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Twitter that brain-computer interfaces could solve the biggest bottleneck in human progress. Musk is known to have launched the Neuralink in 2016. He believes the company's technology can help humans achieve "symbiosis" with artificial intelligence. Simply put, people will be able to combine their brains with computers.
When it comes to brain-computer interfaces, the first impression may be that Musk makes monkeys "mind-type." Since then, Musk's Neuralink has been developing brain implants designed to treat diseases such as paralysis and blindness. Recently, however, the Chinese team was surprised.

https://preview.redd.it/5lfh91cvhq4b1.png?width=630&format=png&auto=webp&s=aa9de64ff98f1b1500d2a618d6d085dc21a1ca87
The world's first brain-computer interface test on monkeys was successfully conducted
Recently, the world's first nonhuman primate interventional brain-computer interface test has been successful in Beijing, which is of great significance to promoting the field of brain science research, marking China's brain-computer interface technology among the international leading ranks.
The experiment was led by Professor Duan Feng's team from Nankai University and jointly completed with the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army (301 Hospital) and Shanghai Xinwei Medical Technology Co., Ltd., which broke through core technologies such as endovascular EEG signal acquisition and interventional EEG signal recognition. According to the video, the surgical monkey just needs to "think" to bring the food to the imports.

https://preview.redd.it/k5f5ur5xhq4b1.png?width=680&format=png&auto=webp&s=4b91bc656dbb8bd8545a0f84cd26ab3d8faf8823
This technology has been widely used in medical, military, and other fields, such as it can help patients with stroke and ALS recover, and even store human thinking, consciousness, and memory in the future. This series of very magical results have begun to happen. It seems that some scenes in sci-fi blockbusters are not so far away from us.
Brain-computer interface refers to a direct connection between the brain of a human or animal and an external device to exchange information between the brain and the device. At present, there are mainly three kinds of BCI, invasive, non-invasive, and interventional BCI. Neuralink, founded by "Iron Man of Silicon Valley" Musk and a team of scientists, is one of the few companies that develop invasive brain-computer interfaces.
In contrast, the interventional brain-computer interface technology used in China is safer. According to information released by Nankai University, the team sent interventional EEG sensors through the singular vein into the sagittal sinus and the motor cortex brain region. After surgery, the team successfully collected and identified the non-human primate interventional EEG signals, realizing the active control of the robotic arm.
It can be said that the interventional brain-computer interface takes both intrusive and non-invasive strengths while avoiding the shortcomings of both. From the current development, brain-computer interface technology has made breakthroughs, which may first help to the medical industry. Guotai Junan Securities pointed out that medicine and health is the main application scenario of brain-computer, and the future will gradually penetrate entertainment, smart home, and other fields, and become an important form of human-computer interaction.
Brain-computer interface technology will enable the metaverse
Brain-computer interface is a complex system and a basic tool for reading and writing on dynamic network data of neurons. What is more surprising is that, with the sudden rise of the Metaverse, people have great expectations for the integration and interaction of the virtual world and the real world. Many people in the industry believe that the brain-computer interface is the cutting-edge technology hatched by Metaverse.
In the future, brain-computer interface technology will enable Metaverse, and the brain-computer interface is expected to become the next generation of human-computer interaction technology, the ultimate form of Metaverse. At the same time, with the continuous development of Metaverse in the future, the strong support of national policies, as well as the continuous exploration of brain science, the brain-computer interface will become the next generation of Metaverse entrance after VR and AR, realizing the real Metaverse.
According to the White paper on brain-computer Interface standardization released by the China Institute of Electronic Technology Standardization, the potential market for brain-computer interface technology (Brain-Computer Interface, BCI) will soon reach tens of billions of yuan. Another prediction analysis believes that the brain-computer interface in the next 20-30 years, the commercial application will gradually land, will open a 100 billion dollars of market.
The technical race has already begun. Brain-computer interface technology is an important strategic direction of the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. The future industry represented by the brain-computer interface has stepped into the fast lane, and the formation of breakthrough scientific research achievements and innovative applications is the strategic need for innovative development.
WiMi Hologram Cloud focuses on brain-computer interface achievements
At present, the brain-computer interface field has tried to combine technology in the consumer field, and the application of in-game interaction is becoming more and more popular. It is understood that WiMi Hologram Cloud (NASDAQ: WIMI) has started to develop BCI game models and paradigms based on brain-computer interfaces. The game model was designed with a P300 brain-computer interface to explore a feasible and natural game execution experience using electroencephalography (EEG) signals in a practical environment.

https://preview.redd.it/waxtt7eyhq4b1.png?width=830&format=png&auto=webp&s=96406da349f9e47d0aa1fb9e5026bd9f407f4af6
According to the report, the novelty of the WiMi Hologram Cloud study is reflected in the design of the BCI games and the paradigm, which integrates the rules of the game and the characteristics of the BCI system. In addition, the convolutional neural network (CNN) algorithm is introduced to achieve high accuracy on the training samples. This brain-computer interface system not only provides a form of entertainment but also provides more possibilities for game control.
To be sure, WiMi Hologram Cloud is based on the CNN BCI game model, forming a platform that can meet the interests of both healthy and disabled users. For healthy users, brain-computer interface games are mysterious and technical, which increases the charm of the game and is very conducive to the promotion of the game. For users with disabilities, BCI games provide them with a fair gaming platform, not only allowing them to play games with healthy users in the same way but also as a functional rehabilitation system to help patients with rehabilitation training. WiMi Hologram Cloud's application of brain-computer interface technology to entertainment games is an important part of promoting BCI technology from the scientific research stage to the practical application market stage.
Conclusion
On the whole, although the new achievements of brain-computer interface technology in China have attracted global attention, it needs to be admitted that at present, the research perspective of foreign brain-computer interface technology is more advanced than that in China, and there can be some technological breakthroughs from 0 to 1. However, the advantages of China are more reflected in the range from 1 to 10, that is, domestic enterprises are good at learning from overseas innovative ideas, making better improvements and engineering realization of products, and pushing the products to the clinic more quickly. In short, if you want to catch up, and eventually lead the industry trend, the core point must also be to increase the investment in basic scientific research.

2023.06.08 07:57 MuffinMan0420 Vecna being the bbeg

So, I've thought about this idea about bringing Vecna as the end-all big bad for a while and have hinted about it to my players out of game. "When you eventually make your way back home, life won't be the same as when you left" type of thing. I got the Rise and Fall of Vecna and the Doomed Forgotten Realms off DMGuild with the Vecna dossier from DnDbeyond, and probably going to modify it a bit if I decide to go through with it.
I have this idea that Tasha/Iggwilv has been kind of keeping a not at full strength Vecna at bay from entering her realm, but the hags have taken Prismeer for Baba Yaga. So now Vecna has made it to the Forgotten Realms, gained enough power to be cause hell, and our heros weren't there to save the day. It's an idea that hasn't really formed completly and I am not really sure how I should reveal it at the end of the campaign when we get there. They currently just beheaded Bavlorna (I have another plan with that) and are probably going to head to Thither to kill Nightshade in the next session or two.
We plan to switch DMs to my wife and play Curse of Strahd after we are done with WBtW so I'm not even sure if I should make this the end game. We've discussed about what they all want to do with their characters once we reach the end but it's still to early to tell.
My forever DM is one of my players and I'm a relatively new DM running the longest game with only DMing a different online game that fell apart several sessions in. And my wife is one of the players. Anyway, just wanted to talk a bit about my current game since I don't really have anyone to talk and flesh out ideas with.
Also, anyone have any ideas how to make the hags more threatening? Through a deck of Daddy Things, my players are at level 5. I should've been more conservative with the leveling but too late now.

2023.06.08 07:57 banJelacic7 Why don't Protestant celebrate Corpus Christi?

Today in Roman Catholic church we are celebrating Corpus Christi - a holiday to specially mark Jesus real presence in Euharisric sacrament. That He really is present in bread and wine as He said He is. In my country it is even a non-working day today.
So am curious, how do you guys look at it? How do you see Jesus' words when He said: "51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
52 Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them." John 6:51-56
Or His words during Last Supper? "26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
27 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of the[b] covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29 I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.” Mark 26:26-27
