2023.05.31 16:52 Impossible_Object102 Has anyone been here?
| My company just gave me that address and it’s called Union Pier. I don’t see that name where the red marker is. Is it a port entry there? I don’t want to get turned around or go to the wrong place that deep in Charleston. submitted by Impossible_Object102 to Truckers [link] [comments] |
2023.05.31 15:58 strugglebusthecessna I’m wondering why you’ve chosen Hilton over Marriott, I used to be team Hilton- but for the same price or honestly usually cheaper; I started to realize Marriott offered me so much more.
I was living on the road in hotels for months on end in the USA so idk how these hotels compare outside the USA. Would like to know your experience. Most towns I visited had a really nice Marriott and an ok Hilton. With the exception of somewhere in KS which had an incredible Hilton and no good Marriott.
What I mean when I say offered me more; updated rooms with premium bedding, a good lounge, a full gym that compares to a smaller planet fitness. Hiltons for me have often had only one or the other of a nice updated lobby or updated rooms but not both. Terrible food in the restaurant compared to what Marriott offered. Thoughts?

2023.05.31 14:01 TheMomentPassed Looking for a bit more info on this offer.
I have an upcoming stay which is 7/28 - 7/30. Quick question to the seasoned vets regarding Marriott Offer.
Will I get the credit for prepaid hotels? (Reason being my stay is so close to the expiration date I don’t want to miss it due to posting taking a few days).

2023.05.31 12:00 Eidolon-13 Issues with the AAA HotDeals Rate free parking and 15%off
I was just at a Marriott Residence Inn in St Louis and when i checked in the staff was super shocked at the AAA Hotdeals Rate which gave free parking and 15% off.
Is it actually a thing where AAA will make a rate without notifying the hotel? Which is what they claimed.
They did honor the free parking but stated they had never heard of that rate showing on the Marriott app before in the time they worked there (over 6 months). Tbh i am unsure if i got the 15%off built in or if it was to be added by them lol.

2023.05.31 02:06 axbruh Hotel Workers Wanted for Interview! - Academic Researcher (read description)
Hello Everyone! I am a Mexican UCLA student currently conducting research on binational worker solidarity and my research is focused on how international hotel chains (IHG, Marriott, Hilton, etc) take advantage of workers (especially during large national/international events).
I am looking to do anonymous (if necessary) surveying/short interviewing for 15-20 minutes on their experience as a hotel worker in either the United States or Mexico. We have a few basic questions and some open-ended. This would be conducted through zoom and/or another form you may prefer.
Survey can be conducted in English and Spanish. I can share more but if anyone fits this description/knows who else I can reach out to, please share! Thank you!🙏🙏

2023.05.30 20:51 gnmatx Automatic checkout
I just spent a long weekend at a Marriott property I’ve stayed at before and liked quite a bit. That said, I went down around 11:03 to get a luggage cart and fill a water bottle at the gym. When I tried to get in the gym, I realized that my keys were deactivated. I know checkout is 11 but I also know that with my loyalty level, I get 4pm checkout if available and requested. I had put 2pm checkout on my checkin on the app but didn’t follow up with the desk. I honestly knew we wouldn’t be much later than 11. I go to the desk and point out that my keys didn’t work and the response was ‘checkout is at 11’. No apology, no review of my status when updating my keys, nothing. I’m sorry but that’s just some of the most poor service. I am 💯 under the impression they auto checked out the new entire hotel. It’s not the end of the world but it’s probably enough for me to never stay there again. The lack of quality control is just insane to me.

2023.05.30 20:48 EyeLikePlanes Recommendations for Joint Credit Card for Wedding Expenses and Consolidating
My current cards:
- Southwest Airlines Plus Chase Visa
- Credit Union Visa
- Amex Gold
- Hilton Honors Surpass Amex
- Best Buy Citi Visa
- AAdvantage Mile Up Citi Mastercard
- Apple Card
Fiances current cards:
- Amex Green Card
- Bank of America Customized Cash Rewards Visa
- AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite Citi Mastercard
FICO Score: >770
Oldest account age: 18 years 8 months (authorized user); 3 years 7 months (owner)
Income: Combined $180,000
Firstly, we are looking for a card that we can open and put a lot of our wedding expenses on to earn points. We also would like it to be the first joint card we have and start closing/moving to the no annual fee cards for the others. The only cards we are for sure both keeping will be some form of the AAdvantage card, most likely the Mile Up with no annual fee, so that we can continue to keep our miles active. I am starting a new job at a major airline that partners with Amex, so we are thinking of changing my Amex gold over to the airline gold and cancelling her Amex green. Since we will be on non-rev flights most of the time we will not be able to access the lounges so lounge cards do not provide an added benefit. We have opened our Amex accounts too recently to be eligible for any of the bonus offers on their cards. Ideally we would like something with good hotel point transfers, the new discounts on Marriott properties are now better than our previous Hilton discount. We were thinking one of the Chase Bonvoy cards since we won't have the Amex bonus and will need a Visa for Costco.
Any other thoughts or recommendations are greatly appreciated! We are in the process of moving in together now for the first time, so do not have a good monthly breakdown of expenses yet.

2023.05.30 17:18 No-Lion-252 Struggling with making up my own answers?
To the best of my recollection, one day a few years ago there was someone in need at a hotel. He was my grandmas friends, friend. He had been homeless and the Marriott was kind enough to let him stay temporarily. My grandma and I wanted to go drop something off but we weren't sure which room he was staying in. I proceeded to hear a room number in my head. I thought a miracle had taken place. Sure enough I walk in ask the front desk and there was no such thing as that room number. A few times I will hear random scriptures in my head while praying, quickly searching for them afterwards. I expect it to be applicable to my situation but they are literally so far from it. Often they are fear inducing, like scriptures such a Jeremiah 24:9. The other night a man was digging in the trash and I went to buy him some food and of course I come out and he's gone not to be seen anywhere. I got a priesthood blessing that sort of made things kind of worse and told me not to trust my feelings. What is going on?? What if I make up the answer to major life decisions such as whether I'm supposed to go on a mission. Who I'm supposed to marry. I can't even trust my own mind, and it's very scary.

2023.05.30 15:15 Ill-Wrap2357 Booking Hotels
Hello!
I am starting to work weekly away from home, 2-3 days a week, and am booking hotels. I’ve got the Delta Reserve Amex and the Marriott Bonvoy Chase cards. I see you can book through Delta for some extra sky pesos. But should I book using my CHASE through delta, book directly on Marriott site with CHASE, or directly on Marriott site with AMEX?
Thoughts?

2023.05.30 13:35 DaiLocDar Bill Biggart
| The last 2 pictures of Bill Biggart, taken on September 11, 2001. Taken at 10:27 and 10:28 a.m... just before the collapse of the North Tower. William G. "Bill" Biggart (July 20, 1947 - September 11, 2001) was an American freelance photojournalist who became a victim of the September 11 terrorist attacks. On September 15, 2001, the photographer's remains were discovered along with a bag containing his three cameras and a CompactFlash card from which his last photos were recovered. The exact time of the beginning of the collapse of the North Tower is disputed, and NIST called the moment of the beginning of the collapse 10:28:22 in the morning. and the Commission on the September 11 attacks recorded the time as 10:28:25. (Bill's last photo is dated as 10:28:24) On the morning of September 11, 2001, a passing taxi driver warned Bill that the plane had crashed into the World Trade Center. Biggart ran to his apartment near Union Square, grabbed three cameras (two film, one digital) and walked two miles to the center, filming fire trucks along the way. In the end, he ended up at the World Trade Center and began shooting burning towers. He continued filming after the collapse of the South Tower. His wife called Bill on his mobile shortly after the collapse of the first tower. According to her, Bill said he was safe with the firefighters. Another photographer, Bolivar Arellano of the New York Post, noted that Biggart was photographing very close to the north tower before it collapsed, and that Bill was closer than any other photographer, and closer than Arellano considered a safe distance. Bill's latest pictures show the Marriott Hotel destroyed by the collapse of the South Tower (40 people died in it alone) and part of West Street. Bill Biggart took the last photo at 10:28:24 a.m., about twenty minutes after his call with his wife. At 10:28 a.m., the North Tower collapsed. The photographer was killed by falling debris from the tower. His last photograph was presented in 2002 at an exhibition at the National Museum of American History. In the first days after September 11, Bill was listed among the missing. His wife was looking for him in news agencies and hospitals. Four days later, his body and equipment were recovered from the rubble of the towers. submitted by DaiLocDar to 911archive [link] [comments] |
2023.05.30 04:19 Greyhulksays Gaylord Palms or Marriott World Center
Planning a trip to Orlando next year with the family. We will spend a few days at a disney resort but then want to move off resort. My son adores waterslides and i want to pick a hotel that has a great water park.
Both the gaylord palms and the marriott world center seem to have great waterparks. Which is the better option?

2023.05.30 02:58 adams361 Are there dive shops with gear lockers available?
*safe gear lockers
We are staying at the Marriott on our next trip to Bonaire, not because it’s ideal, but because it’s free with credit card points. We’ve used buddy dive and dive friends for tanks in the past, but I’ve never noticed if they have lockers available. Ideally, I would like to be able to rinse out our gear at the end of the night and store it somewhere other than in my hotel room. Any recommendations?
