2023.05.31 17:23 Lazy_Conversation203 I can't bring myself to go on walk when home from college because I walk past their house to get onto my fav walking trail
This may end up being a rant since I haven't really been able to talk to friends about this since we're also all mutual friends with the friend who ghosted me and I don't want them to think bad of my friend.
So my best friend ghosted me a few months ago. I was devastated for a while because of how sudden it was. We knew each other for 3.5 years, were friends for 2.5 years and became extremely close pretty much right when we became friends. We were there for each other when we need each other the most, and they were like a sister to me. Earlier this month I got closure. I'm definitely healing from this. I've had mostly good days since I got closure, and still have some bad days. I still think about them a lot, but most of the time its just about the wonderful memories we've made over the last few years and that helps me get through the times I'm sad about missing her.
But I'm trying to work on myself to attract more positive things into my life. I usually do go on walks. I've been walking on this trail in my hometown before I even met my friend. The problem now is, that their house is right next to the trail. You can see it full view when I'm walking on it. I really want to go walking on it because of how beautiful the scenes are on the entire trail. I'm just scared because I'm worried I'll get some sort of emotional reaction when I'm walking by their house. I'm not really sure what to do. I'm trying to lose weight, and walking had helped me lose a good amount of weight when I was at school. I haven't gone on a walk since I've been home, and I arrived home on May 3rd.
Should I just do it to get it done and over with? I'm sure that I'll be fine after the first few times I walk on it but it's kind of scary doing it for the first time.

2023.05.31 17:21 mr_ds2 Not sure what to get
In my 20's (back in the 90's) I had a '75 CB500t. I was just about to buy a new '95 Nighthawk 750 when life got in the way and I ended up having to move across the country and just never got another bike. Until 2019 when I saw an ad for a 2015 CTX700. For some reason it just spoke to me. I decided to stop and take a look at it on my way home from work. I sat on it and was disappointed. I was too big for it. Being 6' tall with a 34" inseam, I couldn't get my knees under the fairing. As I was looking around the dealer I saw a 2015 NC700X. I fit on that and purchased it on a whim. I fell in love with it, at least I thought I did. Turns out I just fell in love with riding again. While I think the NC is a terrific bike, it's really not for me. I'm on the tall side, but so is this bike. I find that I have to step up on the peg to swing my leg over it, even though I can flat-foot it without issue. Probably just because I'm in my 50's and around 250 pounds now. Also, even with a "comfy" Shad seat, my ass is hurting pretty bad after an hour or so. Also, my wife complains about the pillion seat being too small and thin. She's 5'1" and 120, with a bad back. I'm in the market for a different bike. Something a little lower so I can get on it easier, but not so small that my knees are up to my elbows. Something with a comfortable seat for both my and my bony-assed wife. I don't care for Harleys or any bike with a ton of chrome. I sat on a 2019 Shadow, but really didn't like how the tank was wider than the seat because I found that uncomfortable. I saw a Triumph Tiger 1050 that I liked the looks of but when I showed a picture to my wife she just said "no". I see a couple BMW R1150RS's for sale in my price range, but they're both around 20 years old and one has over 100k miles on it. I'd like to keep it around $5k. What would you fine people suggest???

Hi all,
Cruising Greek Isles out of Haifa at the end of June and looking at a third party food tour in Athens. The timing would be tight if I try to depend on the RC “Athens on your own” transfer, so I’m looking into public transit, taxis, Uber, etc.
If anyone is familiar with transit in Athens would be much appreciated!

2023.05.31 17:21 One-Summer5250 Showed up to my first day to be awkwardly taken on a walk by my boss and told that actually, no, I won't have a job until September at the earliest
Small non-profit, helping draft and edit a new book, very much in line with my interests as a writer. When I initially applied to the position, I had two great interviews before finally hearing back that they weren't really sure anymore where they wanted to go with the project so even though I was easily their top candidate and the leader of the team was really excited to work with me, they weren't going to be hiring anyone after all. I said okay, fair enough, these things happen. Fast-forward to two weeks later, I get another email saying that things have settled again, there have been some internal transitions, and the leader of the group is still really interested in working with me, am I still available for the job? I jump at the opportunity and sign onto the project Friday afternoon. Cue Tuesday morning, I come in with my documents for payroll/onboarding, step into the office (it's kind of one big space) and everyone else in the middle of a meeting, suddenly looking extremely awkward and embarrassed (and actually kind of upset, even) that I'm here. I reintroduce myself because the only person I recognize is the team leader, who takes me on a walk out of the office, down to a bench by the river, to tell me that actually, the project has changed directions again and that there won't be any work for me to do until September at the earliest. I was supposed to be taken on as a writer, but the project has defaulted back into its research phase.
The thing is, I'm a researcher, too. It was a huge part of the initial application process, and in fact forms a considerable chunk of my resume. But when I explained that I would be happy to come on as a researcher for now instead, guide the project through its new early phases, the team lead explained that she has unpaid interns for that. She asked if she could contract me by the hour on and off during the Summer just to give little bits of feedback or brainstorm and I said yeah, sure, because I was just sort of in shock. I really needed this job. I've been applying month after month after month and despite my degrees and experience, I haven't managed to get any work at all. Should I demand that they reverse course and hire me now with a contract or else never hear back from me again? Should I just ghost them if they come calling for a third time? Should I just take whatever they throw my way and try to make the most of it? I've really lost the will to keep applying at this point-- there are so few jobs that I even actually want to do, and I'm not getting anywhere with the ones I don't want to do either anyways.

2023.05.31 17:20 swiggyswiggz My close friend from high school ghosted me after graduating
Long story short, I met this girl when I was 13 in middle school from band. We quickly became friends and FaceTimed a ton and even had our own small little friend group. The friend group quickly turned into conflict after conflict and it was pretty toxic. I wasn’t perfect, I said and did some things that I would not say or do today, but I apologized and the two of us made up.
Throughout high school, we told each other everything. We listened to each other and we both had shitty home lives and tried to be there for each other the best we could. She started getting closer to other people in band and slowly talked to me less and less. I got a bit jealous but never really got mad.
She finally cut me off soon after we graduated a couple years ago. I’ve tried to reach out here and there wishing her a happy birthday but she never responded. I talked to her briefly last year unexpectedly but it was barely a conversation. I wish I could have some closure with why she cut me off, but I do understand because I’ve done the same with other people. I want to move forward and stop thinking about her but I can’t.
If you’re still reading this, thank you. I don’t necessarily need advice but I needed this off my chest :)
TL/DR: had a good friend from high school ghost me and not explain what exactly I did. Kinda sad about it ngl

2023.05.31 17:19 readysetgorilla Want to sell 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring w/ $10k in professional audio work. Better to sell in SC or in CA where I'm moving?
Hopefully, the title is straightforward, but I basically have two questions:
- I'm moving to SF so I don't need my car anymore, which is currently located and titled in SC. It's White, 60k miles, no accidents, has some OEM accessory upgrades like heated steering wheel, puddle lights, footwell lights, etc. Will I see a significant increase in the amount I can sell it to a place like CarMax if I drive it out to CA?
- I had a professional car audio shop replace the entire sound system with high-end speakers as well as add lots of sound deadening --- it's a really incredible system for anyone who appreciates audio. Trouble is, that might be both a problem for selling to CarMax, as well as a potential increase in the total if I managed to find a private buyer. Do you think that's going to make it worth private listing? Or is it not worth trying to get a few thousand extra?
Thanks for any advice!

2023.05.31 17:19 BlueberryCivil6409 2 nights in Florence/4 in Cinque Terre or 3 and 3?
How would you do this? Either way I think it ends up with just a few more hours in either city, but I wanted to get opinions. I originally was leaning towards option 1, but now am leaning towards option 2 as it seems a little less rushed.
Keep in mind we are NOT into art (NOT going to the Uffizi) but are into local culture, architecture, and strolling. This would be legs 2 and 3 of a 4 leg trip where we are seeing Rome, Florence, Cinque Terre, and Milan.
Option 1:
- Florence 2 nights:
- Day 1: Arrive in morning from Rome, no plans until a 4:30 pm sunset winery tour out of the city, returns around 10 pm
- Day 2: Duomo and David tour in the AM, free exploring the rest of the day (make our way to Piazzale Michelangelo for sunset and nail down a dinner place)
- Day 3: Depart in the morning, hit Pisa on the way to Cinque Terre
- Cinque Terre 4 nights:
- Day 1: arrive in the evening after Pisa, relax and settle in (staying in Monterosso al Mare)
- Day 2: hike villages
- Day 3: hike villages, sunset boat tour
- Day 4: unwind at beach (day may shift depending on weather)
- Day 5: depart in the morning to head to Milan
Option 2:
- Florence 3 nights:
- Day 1: hit Pisa on the way from Rome, arrive in Florence in the evening, free exploration
- Day 2: free morning, no plans until a 4:30 pm sunset winery tour out of the city, returns around 10 pm
- Day 3: Duomo and David tour in the AM, free exploring the rest of the day (make our way to Piazzale Michelangelo for sunset and nail down a dinner place)
- Day 4: Depart in the morning, arrive to Cinque Terre by early afternoon
- Cinque Terre 3 nights:
- Day 1: arrive in the early afternoon, relax and settle in (staying in Monterosso al Mare)
- Day 2: hike villages
- Day 3: unwind at beach (day may shift depending on weather), sunset boat tour
- Day 4: depart in the morning to head to Milan
Advantages/disadvantages of both? I suspect Option 2 is the more popular choice, but I'm not sure if we will regret having less time near the sea.

2023.05.31 17:19 ARTY_Amron ULPT Request: How can I red- handedly catch my pickpocketting classmate?
Context- My college has study tours every year. There only 12 boys in my batch and room sharing happens in groups of 4; every tour (3 so far) I have had the 2 roommates that were common.
So the thing is I keep my wallet in my bag in the hotel room whenever I dont need it/ sleeping. Every tour someone has stolen the bigger bills (₹ 500 note(s)) from it.
How can I red-handedly catch / punish them?

2023.05.31 17:18 Cold-Scene-7628 Basement Panel Framing
So I’m building my basement and the framers finished there job. After inspection I moved on to call dry walkers, and they said a frame is missing here.
The framers have now ghosted me, and I don’t want to hire another for this small job (I’m good with tools just don’t know how to design/attempt this.)
I just want this panel to be framed, so it can be drywalled around. The router etc beneath it I will move so it won’t be there anymore.
Please let me know how you would do this.
Thanks! IMGUR link below
